Hunters Hall Inn by Greene King Inns

When we arrived there was no one on reception. The annex room we had was rather shabby, the carpet had not been cleaned around the edges for a long time, it was full of dust. The shower had black mould all around the base and part way up the walls, a very tired room indeed. Exterior of hotel untidy needs a lot of updating, car park potholed. We were with a group of friends for dinner, we had to wait nearly an hour and a half for the food to arrive. We nearly gave up waiting. The following morning there was only one member of staff on at breakfast. People who arrived after us were served before us. Virtually everything on the self service table had gone and the waiter told us that there was nothing left. We ordered a cooked breakfast and once again we had to wait over 1hr for our food to arrive and when it did it was cold and dried up. It would appear as this is the only hotel in the vicinity of Kingscote barn wedding venue they are taking advantage of this and charging accordingly. Very poor indeed. Would not recommend this hotel.

The pub was lovely. Very cosy, open fire, and the food/drink selection was great and good quality. The room itself unfortunately didn’t compliment this. Cobwebs littered the walls and ceilings, wallpaper falling off the walls, huge damp marks on the ceilings. The sheets on the bed were ripped and stained. The radiator turned on halfway through the night and was incredibly loud, popping noise which nobody could sleep through. The bed was comfortable (despite being dirty and ripped). But the room really needed an overhaul, and the cleaning standards need to be reviewed. I won’t stay here again, which is a shame.

Colazione continentale buona con cornetti assortiti, bevande calde e fredde, varia scelta di marmellate e cereali e yogurt. Non abbiamo fatto la classica colazione inglese quindi non saprei in merito, però la cucina del pub la sera era buona. Spazio esterno per i bimbi con giochi e verde, recintato. Comodo parcheggio.

Very quite location to stay but then limited to the pub/restaurant next door. Room was spacious with good WIFI. Shower was hot but not much power & bathroom itself could do with upgrading a little. Wardrobe smelt a bit musty so put clothes on chairs.

We called ahead to ask if we could check in early so we could change to go to a wedding. They weren’t able to get the room ready but did let us in before it had been cleaned so that we could change. The family room had 2 bedrooms and suited our needs really well, and would suit most families. The room decor was a little tired but clean and all in good working order. The car park was quite muddy in February so a bit tricky for cases etc. Breakfast was good quality with plenty of variety and the staff were accommodating and friendly.

Plenty of room for parking. Gentleman who ran the business was very good humoured & friendly. Room was spotless.

Staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. Rooms were quite basic, however lovely comfortable bed and quiet location, slept well. Negative point - be careful of pot holes in the car park

Clean room. Friendly bar staff on welcome and evening. Good parking with plenty of spaces.

Great place and convenient to visiting the Cotswold villages. Nice breakfast and great dinners too!

Room was lovely and way bigger than expected. Staff were fantastic and the pub is beautiful with stone floors and wooden beams. Big beer garden with children's play area, although it rained overnight so we couldn't go out and enjoy it but looked fab

Perfect stay for what i needed. My room was cosy and full of character. The bed had crisp, clean white sheets and was super comfy. Wonderful shower, although the on and off part of the shower was stiff. I did notice some cobwebs, however the room was clean and well presented. The staff where friendly and I’ll definitely be staying again. In fact im already booked in. Thank you for a wonderful stay

We stayed room 12 which was clean & spacious, en-suite gave us the option of bath or shower, staff very friendly & attentive , the manager (Doug ) had good banter with the customers which we found very comical, if we needed any top ups ( tea bags , milk etc) staff very obliging.

The room was warm and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful although very busy . I am a light sleeper and the traffic noise was a bit of a problem overnight .

We stayed as part of a multi day walking holiday. The positives after a long day walking are: warm rooms, lashings of hot water, comfortable beds, good pub grub, easy parking and a fantastic breakfast to set us up for the next day. On the negative side the rooms and public areas are shabby...it didnt bother us as the rooms were finctional but you might be dissappointed if you were hoping for a special night away. Check in/out service was also very very slow.

We stayed room 12 which was clean & spacious, en-suite gave us the option of bath or shower, staff very friendly & attentive , the manager (Doug ) had good banter with the customers which we found very comical, if we needed any top ups ( tea bags , milk etc) staff very obliging.

When we arrived at 2200 on a Thursday evening, we were pleasantly surprised with how lovely our family room was and how welcoming the team were; it was confirmed breakfast timings as 0700 for our stay. On the Friday, we arrived at 0700 for our breakfast and as we were in a hurry, only had some of the limited selection of continental breakfast. At £7 each it wasn't too badly priced but I do feel that there could have been slightly more on offer, but we all left content. We returned in the evening and enjoyed a drink and snack in the pub which was a real pleasure. The following morning we needed to have breakfast and get checked out by 0745. When we walked over to the pub from the hotel area, there was no-one in sight; the building was locked up, no lights on. We double checked online and the information in the room which all said breakfast at 0700 on Sun-Sat, so at 0715, we tried again but still no-one. At this point we knew we needed to get checked out and get moving to get some kind of food from elsewhere before our early appointment. I tried calling the emergency number available on the door but this rang dead - VERY CONCERNING - what if there'd been an emergency? We ended up posting the key and leaving a voicemail asking could we be called to advise we were checked out - we left over a week ago and as far as I know, we're still checked in.... We would stay here again, but would like assurance the emergency number is working and we wouldn't rely on having breakfast here.

Room was comfortable. Staff were very helpful and the pub very warm and welcoming.

convenient to towns & forest

The hotel is very dated and needs alot of work. Its not dirty but there are cobwebs, a few spiders and the headboards of the bed are all scratched and marked (see photo). The bedding was clean and the mattress was comfy. I would not stay on holiday here and the staff are not overly friendly. They just give you your key and leave you to it. I would not stay again. It also in the middle of nowhere, making it spooky at night.

Property suited our needs whilst attending a nearby wedding. Comfortable and friendly.

Owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. Delicious pub food with a great variety to choose from. Our room was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The location was perfect for Badminton Horse Trials. We highly recommend and will hopefully visit again.

The stay was fine. The road is quite noisy but not too disturbing. The room and bathroom were both a little tired but good value and fine for an overnight stay. The food in the pub was good with good service.

Friendly, welcoming staff, decent food (they know how to cook squid and steak properly!). Clean room, comfy bed, decent shower temperature and pressure!
