Affordable accommodation in Lucerne, about 3 km from the city center. Around 10 minutes by bus plus a short walk, or a 30-minute walk to town. The visitor card and included breakfast were nice extras. Reception was open until 9 PM, and quiet hours were supposed to start at 10:30 PM, but unfortunately, guests were noisy and shouting throughout the night. Otherwise private room was good enough for 2 people. Lift is not available so carrying big bags can be a problem too.

We travelled as a family, two adults a 2 year old and a dog. The room was simple, with two separate beds but enough space to have also a luggage. The breakfast was included and it was pretty standar, but always nice to have. Personel was extremely nice, above all with my daughter. I loved the common rooms, there was one with sofas and books/toys and it was super convenient as there was a storm outside and we needed to have some entertainment. The only issue we had, but was expected, was the other guests. We go to bed pretty early (9 pm) and there was a group of teenagers that thought it was a good idea to run up and down the stairs and scream to each other. They eventually stopped around 11 pm. So bring some earplugs if you are a light sleeper (like me, my husband and daughter were snoring regardless).

After spending my youth going through hostels, i wasnt expecting much, since prices in switzerland are generally very high, but we were very pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. Only downside is no ac in the room ans it was quite warm. But the windows openes (no screen) so it worked. Bathroom facilities were top notch.

I really can’t recommend this hostel. There was 1 female shower and 1 toilet for 6 quadruple rooms. I had to wait to shower and wait for the toilet. Other than that, it wasn’t too bad.

Everything was well-run and the staff were all welcoming and hospitable. The shared bathrooms and showers were in great shape and always clean. Our only “complaint” was really just a suggestion: air hand dryers in the bathrooms instead of paper towels. The paper towels were above average in quality and we appreciated that, but we felt hand dryers might be more ecological. Overall, a great value for the money and well organized.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Easy to check in, room was clean. Was hostel-style, so not always the most quiet, but was not overly loud, quiet during quiet hours. Wifi was good, shared bathrooms were clean, and plentiful, did not have to wait to use bathroom or shower, there was enough for the demand. Included breakfast was delicious, included coffee and juice, big bonus! Did have a problem with accessing the front door after hours (key card wouldn’t let me in), and another guest had to let me in, but the front desk was quick to fix this in the morning once it was brought to their attention. Safe neighbourhood, walkable to downtown Luzern (with a large steep hill on the way to the hostel… would have to be able bodied enough for it), but also lots of public transport in the area. Would recommend, very professional. Would stay with them again for sure.

Sale et insalubre. On a trouvé un insecte dans le lit et un asticot dans la chambre. Le responsable s'est moqué de nous et a catégoriquement refusé de rembourser la nuit. Son argument : c'est ce à quoi on a droit pour 125€ à Lucerne. Je pèse mes mots, ne songez même pas à réserver cet "endroit". On a préféré dormir dans la voiture. Dirty and unsanitary. We found a weird insect in the bed and a worm in the room. The manager made fun of us and refuse to cancel the reservation for free. According to him, this is what we get for 125€ in Luzern. Do not even think about making a reservation there. We have prefered to sleep in the car.

Unorganisiert (in unserem Zimmer war noch der alte Mieter), wir haben ohne Säuberung das Zimmer übernehmen müssen (wir hatten um eine Reinigung gebeten und es nach langer Wartezeit dann doch selber gereinigt). Insgesamt hat alles hat nach Urin gerochen, Zimmer, Flur,...das Frühstück war dafür gut.

A Lucerne pour un concert, l'Auberge de jeunesse était à distance de marche de la salle et donc le choix logique. Le séjour commence "moyen": la 1ère chambre qu'on m'attribue est de toute évidence occupée, la 2e n'a pas été nettoyée, après 3 allées-retours entre la 3 étage sans ascenseur et la réception, on fini par me trouver une chambre. Le plus étrange dans tout ça, c'est que l'endroit paraît pratiquement désert, je n'ai vu que 2-3 personnes pendants mon séjour. La chambre était propre, le lit était ok. La salle de couche et les wc sont propres mais commencent à prendre de l'âge, Et on sent une odeur "incrustée" dans les toilettes. Le petit déjeuner est standard pour une auberge de jeunesse. Je ne regrette pas mon séjour, même s'il n'était pas transcendant, pour le prix ça allait.

Es buena en cuanto q hay una estacion cerca de bus. En cuanto a la propiedad necesita mas cuidados y el baño es lo.mas q necesita remodelscion. La.cortina sucia y olor a himedsd. E igual el cuartos.

I thought the staff was nice and helpful.. the area is easy to get to and very pretty and safe....take number 19 bus..... but i could not stay there again for 2 reasons...1- the mattress was awful...my back was killing me, its very thin...i brought my own blanket to cover the pillowcase even though they give you clean sheets and im glad they did...2- the shower was soo small i could barely put my clothes on...ive stayed in many hostels and this was good for one night but the mattress was painful and im.glad it was just 1 night.. I was in a room with 4 other females

It was my first hostel experience, and my only complaint is I did not know they had a laundry service until I left, I wish they advertised this somewhere, because I took the bus to do laundry. I also wish that they had fans for the room. Other than that the stay was perfect, and convenient

It is a fair experience, given the cost of the hostel. It would be nicer though if they had considered putting a fan inside the rooms during heat seasons.

The youth hostel is located very well and thats alteady the best thing. The rooms are very small, old and very run-down. The toilet and bathroom/shower are in the hallway. There is only one toilet and one shower for the entire hallway. The breakfast selection was very limited and nothing special. It's simply not enough for such a high price you pay.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Easy to check in, room was clean. Was hostel-style, so not always the most quiet, but was not overly loud, quiet during quiet hours. Safe neighbourhood, walkable to downtown Luzern (with a large steep hill on the way to the hostel… would have to be able bodied enough for it), but also lots of public transport in the area. I thought the staff was nice and helpful.. the area is easy to get to and very pretty and safe....take number 19 bus..... but i could not stay there again for 2 reasons...1- the mattress was awful...my back was killing me, its very thin...i brought my own blanket to cover the pillowcase even though they give you clean sheets and im glad they did...2- the shower was soo small i could barely put my clothes on...ive stayed in many hostels and this was good for one night but the mattress was painful and im.glad it was just 1 night.. I was in a room with 4 other females

We travelled as a family, two adults a 2 year old and a dog. The room was simple, with two separate beds but enough space to have also a luggage. The breakfast was included and it was pretty standar, but always nice to have. Personel was extremely nice, above all with my daughter. I loved the common rooms, there was one with sofas and books/toys and it was super convenient as there was a storm outside and we needed to have some entertainment. The only issue we had, but was expected, was the other guests. We go to bed pretty early (9 pm) and there was a group of teenagers that thought it was a good idea to run up and down the stairs and scream to each other. They eventually stopped around 11 pm. So bring some earplugs if you are a light sleeper (like me, my husband and daughter were snoring regardless).

A Lucerne pour un concert, l'Auberge de jeunesse était à distance de marche de la salle et donc le choix logique. the location is not so good, it's dark and fewer people are around the building in the evening. It would be nice if there is a staff for 24 hours, because there is a guy who keep speaking phone for 30min at 10 pm. However, the breakfast is great, I will consider come back next time

Booked on a Quad Room with the 2-bunk beds, shared T&B on Aug 16-19,2023. Just very warm on summer days thus we opened the windows while on beds just to get fresh air. Around 8mins walk to local bus stop, 8-10mins going to the Centre. Breakfast included and good enough to start your day. You have to pay extra for towel at €3.00 each however linens are free. Warm Receptions a plus yet up to 7pm only.

Everything was well-run and the staff were all welcoming and hospitable. The shared bathrooms and showers were in great shape and always clean. Our only “complaint” was really just a suggestion: air hand dryers in the bathrooms instead of paper towels. The paper towels were above average in quality and we appreciated that, but we felt hand dryers might be more ecological. Overall, a great value for the money and well organized.

The youth hostel is located very well and thats alteady the best thing. The rooms are very small, old and very run-down. The toilet and bathroom/shower are in the hallway. We had a four bunk room (2 adults and 2 children aged 7 and 10) … room was small (compared to the Schaan Vaduz hostel) but was perfectly adequate for us. Table tennis was a hit! Great location, close to a bus stop with free travel. Great breakfast. Would definitely recommend and stay again if we’re in Lucerne.

The property was dated but clean and maintained. Breakfast was excellent. They should have combined the toilet and bathroom facilities. The rooms were very small. Lots of stairs too. I love the fact locks are provided for lockers in Switzerland. No fans but the windows open wide. The hostels need to ban smoking in all areas inside and out. The smoke floated in. Please! It is 2026. Smoking is outdated. The hostel is short walk from the bus to town. No stores close by.
