The property was great. Nice, clean, great location to use as a base if on foot - very close to Salamanca, the harbour and the shops. The small gym was great and our room was a good size. We upgraded to a superior city view room which was on the 4th floor so the view was a bit limited, I can’t imagine what some of the rooms without a window would be like. There’s also no pool and chocolate hour isn't quite as elaborate as the Melbourne version, but my son loved every moment of it. Lots of people there to enjoy this special offering! A great stay and the staff were faultless.

We enjoyed our 4 night getaway at the hotel, we ended up getting two rooms, one for us and one for our teenage son. It was a good location in town and quiet, we used the gym and had dinner at the restaurant which was delicious. We also enjoyed the daily chocolate hour in the lobby, the staff were friendly and helpful. We also used there parking valet service which took a while some days when they were busy, but would definitely stay again.

I stayed with Movenpick for one night. The room was excellent, with great views and excellent service. However, there were some unexpected costs. Parking is very expensive. The hotel provides valet parking at a rate of $35. Otherwise, there are other nearby (one and a half blocks away) parking options at a cost of $27. I found parking around Hobart to be very expensive. Next time I will make sure to ask about parking prior to booking. In addition, the hotel takes a $100 holding fee upon arrival, which they explained would be reimbursed when I left. When I checked out (and was waiting for my car from the valet for 30 minutes), my money was still not reimbursed. I asked reception when I could expect to be reimbursed, they told me it would take 3 to 5 business days. It would be helpful to be made away of these hidden costs prior to booking so this can be planned for.

Chambre récente mais très sombre car vue sur mur. Rideau de douche moisi qui dégage une odeur dans la salle de bain. Rien pour poser ses affaires dans la sdb pourtant très grande. Par contre il faut être très patient, il faut attendre 20 min pour récupérer sa voiture ou au moins 1h pour avoir le petit déjeuner car le personnel du restaurant est très désorganisé.

We recently spent a week at Hotel Mövenpick Hobart. While the hotel’s central location and overall presentation were positives, there were a few aspects of our stay that fell short of expectations for a property in this category. Unfortunately, the room cleaning was inconsistent and not always completed to a high standard. We also found it very difficult to get in touch with reception, housekeeping, or the restaurant over the phone — calls went unanswered throughout our entire stay, which made simple requests unnecessarily inconvenient. Our room also had a persistent drain odour, and soundproofing could be improved, as we could clearly hear water usage and plumbing noise from neighbouring rooms. Overall, our stay was comfortable enough, but with better attention to housekeeping, maintenance, and guest communication, the hotel could offer a much more seamless and enjoyable experience.

Wonderful stay at Movenpick Hobart. Staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to accomodate any request. Room was modern and very clean although on the small side. Bed was very comfortable. Very good restaurant on site. Will definitely stay again.

1. We were in a room immediately above the gym and had the thumping of gym equipment for hours both nights and very late 2.for $600 a night I would have expected a room which did not look into an enclosed courtyard and which had an office opposite which forced us to keep the blinds shut all of the time

Very central hotel to everything. Beautiful view of the harbour from our room. Comfortable beds, hot shower & good water pressure. Clean and modern. Only complaint is the bell tower is right next door so you hear the tower bells every 15 minutes so if a light sleeper like me just bring ear plugs. Would stay again next visit

The room was clean and well decorated. Hotel is located almost in the center of the CBD and 5 minutes' walk away from the harbor. Downside: Most of classic rooms have no natural light as there is a wall right in front of the window.

The location is great! I would definitely would stay at Movenpick location again as it was convenient for everything. The hotel breakfast was good. The check in and check out was great and quick. The workers there are polite and the hotel is accommodating in everything from safety and accessible facilities. However the hotel was good but it could be better. Please fix the elephant in the room. It’s the bed. The bed is horrendous. That is why we pay good money for a good hotel is for good sleep. What is the point in staying at a top rate hotel if the bed is lumpy? One side of the bed was lumpy and the other side was firmer. I could not sleep properly without waking up sore in each hour of the night. After pointing it out to the reception: They just took off the topper and it was slightly better. You need to pass out to get some sleep - slight warning because taking the topper doesn’t fix a lumpy bed. So that’s what we did, we had two massive days so that we can sleep properly before checking out. My partner and I had stayed at motels that had better quality beds (medium-firm) that was not uneven on each side and we paid $120 per night. Movenpick you are expected to pay $350-$500 per night for a lumpy bed. Not great.

Whilst the hotel is nice, clean and has its aesthetics it lacks in room size big time, so small, somewhat weird layout that just display lack of thought as you expect in room design to be done well. Lack of carpark means you over to vale and the wait that goes with it. Not a hotel I would return to, maybe more suited to a single traveler not a couple

Opened our curtains for some fresh air and a little view and found a fixed window with a building not more than a metre away. No light, no air, claustrophobic, no breakfast included, hard bed. Lucky it was just for one night!

Room was nice and comfortable, with a great view, staff were friendly & location was amazing. However we had a couple of minor issues - couldn’t get through to room service to order food- twice - (no one answered the number, or the front desk), and we’d paid for late checkout, which was ‘lost’ in the system, so we returned to find ourselves locked out of our room. This was resolved thankfully, but overall left a feeling of a place that is a little disorganised.

It seems this hotel is short staffed. Breakfast was a waiting game and often the buffet area was not manned, leading to problems with the coffee machine and items not being replenished. Manager did apologise, but not good for what we thought would be a first class hotel.

Property location is wonderful but it is also its downfall. Being in the CBD is great for convenience but it means that the Valet Parking that is offered is absolutely terrible. I had to circle the area for up to 45mins each time I wanted to drop the car off with the valet. The reception team are generally helpful but do not engage with guests unless approached. When staying at the Grand Chancellor or MACQ01 the reception team actively greet guests whereas the Movenpick team don't even look up from their computers unless you walk up to the counter. The minibar is woeful. 1 bottle of red, 1 bottle of white, 1 can of beer and 1 can of cider. No soft drinks, no spirits, no juices. Combine this with a room service menu (via QR scan) that constantly says the item (a Whiskey) is not available, even when I have had it in the bar, and the relaxing experience is very much reduced. The actual room itself has limited storage and any more than 1 suitcase would be difficult to accommodate. I believe the Movenpick is geared more for single night business travel rather than multi night or family accommodation. Having stayed in several Hobart hotels, I can honestly say the Movenpick was the worst I have used. Personally I will use the Grand Chancellor or MACQ01 for future visits and will select my dates around their availability rather than return to the Movenpick.

Staff were lovely, rooms beautiful and clean. However “guaranteed check in at 2pm” was not guaranteed and we had to wait until approx 2:45pm to check in (with a toddler is not ideal), as compensation we received 2 welcome drink vouchers which I don’t believe is adequate and also thought was the standard anyway, however staff were still lovely.

There was nothing I didn’t like about this property. The staff were very friendly and helpful ensuring your stay was memorable. The room was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location was the best of both worlds - a few steps and you’re right in the middle of the shopping district and a short walk to the harbour and Salamanca Market area. Will definitely be back.

Movenpick is a fantastic hotel located in the Hobart cbd and close enough to walk to Salamanca and all waterfront activities. The staff were very friendly and helpful when we arrived after a delayed flight. Will stay here again.

Aside from being a nice hotel it was in a convenient location. It was half a block from the pedestrian mall on Elizabeth Street. Just off the mall is a Woolworths which is one of the larger chains of grocery stores in Australia. So it was easy to get water and milk since we made coffee in the room each morning. We did not eat breakfast in the hotel since it was kind of pricey and there was a takeout shop across the street that opened at 7 AM during the week. It is about 500 m from the docks with some of our tours left from.

The quality of the decor is excellent with attention to detail , the restaurant is also excellent , my steak was cooked to perfection , the sides where almost of Michelin standard, Being bit of a coffee snob , wasnt disappointed there either , the staff especially Berlin at the desk iate so efficient and friendly , she gives you a personal experience and very accommodating right down to the vallet parking .

Efficient check in and clean rooms. The breakfast needs improvement. There is a mediocre cold buffet and you can order from about 8 hot choices. Day 1 I ordered poached eggs but received scrambled. Day 2 my order didn’t get processed and after 15 minutes I enquired and the order hadn’t been placed because of time constraints i could only grab a quick piece of toast before my tour meeting time.
