Was not told about the two different key cards one for the pool and one for the room. Went down to the pool from the 4th floor and couldn’t access the pool with my room key. Had to calll reception on my mobile to get someone to let me in. The next morning I took both cards and neither worked. Had to call again to get in. Apparently you have to ask if you want to use it the next morning and get the card adjusted appropriately to access it again.

Very clean. Excellent gym , pool and sauna. Comfortable. 1 min walk from train. Organic option available. Lovely bath robes. Helpful staff. Problems resolved quickly and smoothly. Free breakfast would be expected in nearly £100 per night room. Signs needed to figure how to use the lift. Sauna would be nicer if it had privacy glass. Toiletries are not organic/eco - just chemically and packaged as luxury. Head baord not comfy to sit up in bed.

A good stay at the Cambridge Novotel North - lovely newly furnished and clean room, nice staff, very close to bus stops for the 15 minute bus ride into Cambridge. The "wellness center" was a bit too family friendly for us, but appreciate it was a weekend.

Everything about the hotel was great. Modern, staff friendly and helpful. Swimming pool and gym fantastic. Breakfast was well cooked and a decent choice. Only issue was the parking, ncp car park. Trying to pay for parking was a real struggle, to the point that I wasn't sure if I was covered for the time I wanted. There is off street parking a very short distance away in the residential area. My advice is park there. No issues. Save yourself some money.

The hotel is great and the room is beautiful. The only bad thing is that they don't mention that you will be charged for the car park as it belongs to railway station and the jacuzzi is not warm at all as is connecting to the main pool and sauna was not working 😕

Amazing new comfortable hotel, with great pool and gym amenities. You have to pay for parking which they don’t mention and the app they want you to down load to pay for parking isn’t the won you use, it’s pay by parking one. Lack of communication with reception was frustrating

Ordered room service at 9:52pm only to be told that the kitchen closed at 9:45pm despite the fact it was advertised as 10pm on the room service menu. You could thne only order Pizza from 11pm... so for some reason you can order anythign between 9:45pm and 11pm... but then was told the ovens were being cleaned and so earliest I could order was 2am! Complete stupidity and makes zero sense. The pool area, changing rooms and sauna was disgustingly dirty and looked like it had not been cleaned in ages, and was full of kids.

Nice four star hotel with nice comfortable rooms but the pool area including the changing need to have a number items fixed and much better cleaning. The hotel is on the outskirts of Cambridge so not walking distance into Cambridge

The stay was really nice and comfortable. Unfortunately there were quite a few dog hairs on the carpet in our bedroom. Although it’s pet friendly I think the cleanliness was not to the standard it should be. Staff were excellent and rectified the problem straight away in particular a member of staff called “Jenny” a real gem.

Very modern hotel just outside of the city centre. Very quiet inside especially as it overlooks the rail tracks. Swimming pool a nice little added bonus but small. Very dusty rooms and the corridors very dirty.

there should be better attention to cleanliness the room i stayed had a sofa bed with old bread crumbs and dirt on opening up the sofa bed There was dirt underneath the larger bed in the room as well and that was really bad ..

I stayed here with my family and we had two rooms, each for 3 people. We got placed on the first floor near the access to the pool which was great. Sadly our experience was mixed, partly because one room was beautifully clean whilst the other wasn't - the unclean one; the carpet had crumbs all over it, the bathroom was dirty with toothpaste in the sinks, and the glasses had lipstick on them. The work surface was also unclean. As we had booked 2 family rooms, I was expecting that the children's beds would have been made up, but that wasn't the case. Housekeeping came, and it was resolved quickly. The hotel is beautifully modern and well equipped, and the pool/gym are excellent. There are towels provided and the pool is great for children, especially as it is only 1.2m deep. The jacuzzi doesn't work, and the sauna was only 60 degrees heat, so just warm and not hot. The reception is a lovely open space and a great place to meet. The reception staff were very helpful. We made the mistake of getting on the train to Cambridge, which is over a mile to the centre of Cambridge... a tip for anyone else staying here, just book an Uber if you have children or elderly relatives with you who may struggle to walk so far. Overall, I'd rate the hotel as very good; with some minor tweaks and attention to detail, it could easily be excellent.

As usual, nice hotel, good rooms, good breakfast and all fine, except this time the room was like an oven and the property had switched off the ability to cool the room, so even at 16 degrees setting it was pumping out heat. Could not leave the window open due to train noise and had an uncomfortable sweaty night.

Arrived very late on Friday night but was welcomed warmly and booked in quickly. Room was lovely very modern and clean. Woke up at three o'clock at night as the room temp was so warm 26 degrees! Although the controller said we had it set to 19, no matter what we did the controller did not talk to the air conditioning unit. Ended up opening the window with sub zero temperature outside and leaving it open. Woke at 9 as the room was full of cigarette smoke from someone blowing smoke out of their room. Reported the heating issue in the morning and was told maintenance would take a look. Still the same problem the next evening so removed the key card, severing power to the room which helped. Not asked when checking out how my stay was. Transport was easy from Cambridge North and there is a really nice riverside walk into the the city centre from the hotel which took about 50 minutes. I think the hotel is set up more for corporate clients as the bar prices and food were expensive. There is a co-op opposite which is useful and a small cafe in Cambridge North does breakfast for £5. The swimming pool was rated highly by my wife. We would book again now we know a bit more of the area and hotel.

We found the staff to be friendly, but we're very disappointed with the bathroom, you couldn't lock the door, it swung the whole way and the worst was that you see through the bathroom door! It was glass. We had our 16 year old son in with us and it made the whole experience stressful and uncomfortable

Nice clean room but the bathroom door was like a mirror and see through so we had ZERO privacy in the shower and toilet, not very nice when your sharing a room with your family. We had to put a huge towel over the door to shower etc throughout our stay

The bar isn't fully staffed and can't serve the usual drinks. The TV had one outage after the other, so the kids couldn't watch TV, parents couldn't rest. In comparison to previous stays we're disappointed.

Loved everything about it. Excellent, clean hotel right next to Cambridge North station. My favourite part about it was the large UHD TV in the room that allowed me to cast my Prime and Netflix content.

We stayed in a family room which was very dated. The queen bed was comfortable but the Sofa bed was really poor! It was basically an old sofa with no mattress and the duvet was far too small for the bed. When we complained we were told there was no replacement sofa bed that we could be given! Not really acceptable for 3 nights and when paying so much for the room I’d expect everyone to have a comfortable night!

Modern clean hotel right next to the train station. Cambridge North. Room is of good size and storage space is good. There is a well stocked small supermarket right across the hotel COOP. Not much food options around. Bus stop is short distance away into town. It’s actually walkable about 30-40 minutes to center of Cambridge. Would stay here again.

The hotel itself was very nice in appearance but our air conditioning did not work so we got the worst night sleep ever. Tried to open the window to get some fresh air but our room was right next to the train station so it was too noisy.

My wife and I came to Cambridge for her birthday and stayed at this hotel for two nights with breakfast over the bank holiday weekend. The room was fine and clean. Unfortunately, on this occasion the main let down was the staff & poor service. The breakfast area was completely overflowing and clearly overbooked with guests. We had to wait ten mins before they let us in, which is fine. However, nearly everything was finished and not restocked in a timely manner. When it did get restocked, everything was finished instantaneously with massive queues. 20mins wait to get coffee. 20mins wait to get toast. Half the full English was missing. We requested vegetarian sausages... Had to remind the staff three times and at the end... 30mins later they brought them separately. No juices available, no bakery left, no fruit. Paying £14 additionally for the breakfast per person and barely having a breakfast is ridiculous. Upon arrival I had made the hotel aware it was my wife's birthday. I requested a cake for the room on the 2nd evening and requested it be left in the room for our return from dinner. Nothing. Walked in and it just wasn't there. No follow up from staff or reception why not. We assumed check out was 1pm and a member of staff came up to advise us otherwise, but said its fine if we check out now. Went straight down and the receptionist was very abrupt and rude, demanded extra money for late check out. I didn't argue, no intention ever to stay here again.

We stayed fri to sun, on saturday we all showered after swimming and there is nowhere in the room to hang the towels, we came home saturday night after being out for 9 hrs with a please make my room up sign, room was not made towels were still wet, we explained at reception what had happened and asked for some dry towels, they said they'd be straight up, didn't come at all. Breakfast on the saturday was lovely, the sunday was a disaster, too many people not enough seats, getting people to wait on the couches before going in but no system to it so everyone going in the wrong order as they were just trying to remember people by face, ran out of everything and the guy with the beard being snappy when guests asked for refills of things such as ketchup, which is only available in a bowl with a spoon near the hot food counter, not bottles or sachets.

We arrived at the hotel late in the evening and were disappointed to find that there was some confusion over the payment of our hotel (and nearly got charged the full amount again until we flagged it) when we had booked and paid in advance through hotels.com. The reception were pleasant and said they would call hotels.com in the morning and clear everything up. We received no confirmation formally that they had done this. We ordered room service on one night and didn’t receive an update/reply through the WhatsApp service so had to keep calling reception to check it had went through. Overall however, our stay was a lovely one. The staff were friendly and helpful when approached and the food at breakfast was plentiful with good choice for kids and adults (as well as healthy options too). We took our dog and the hotel was really well set up so that the whole family was comfortable. We used the swimming pool. Facilities were lovely and clean, although the changing room can get a bit cramped. The swimming pool itself is lovely, however we found that some families were allowing a group of children to flip into the pool causing huge splashes, risk of injury to them and scaring our two very young children each time, so maybe a member of staff popping in and out every so often could resolve this type of behaviour. Overall however, a great stay, perfect location and comfortable for the whole family.

Friendly welcome, reception staff were knowledgeable and helpful, communal areas clean and comfy. Parking was a decent price and convenience shop opposite which was handy. Location for train station was amazing with just 1 stop to Cambridge centre. Room- Nice linen, comfy beds, very clean, nice toiletries (though I think the shampoo was actually just shower gel and no conditioner). Great TV with radio and ability to cast from devices. Effective blackout blinds, and despite proximity to train station was very quiet. Temperature control was good. Poor hospitality try! Breakfast- poorly staffed, cereals/ bread/ pastry options were basic, juice machine was poor quality, coffee machine had good options. Cooked breakfast was nice. Continental had a nice variety. Bar/ Restaurant- poorly staff, but nice food, adequate drink selection Leisure facilities- nice pool, adequate gym, changing room cramped with little room for sitting/ putting things down. Lockers were difficult to lock. No spinners or bags for wet swimming costume/ trunks. Loads of towels.

Check in isn’t until 3pm they charge £10 per hour to check in early, we have two infants and had requested two travel cots, I rang before booking to see if this was possible and told yes and emailed 3 weeks before to check again told both times absolutely. We were attending a wedding that day so couldn’t check in until 10pm and then messed about as only one travel cot was provided. The team didn’t seem to understand that we literally had nowhere for our son to sleep, he ended up having to go on the sofa pulled against the bed. Shambles if you ask me as if they couldn’t provide it we could’ve brought our own, for the price I think it was a joke - no compensation not even an apology breakfast which is £18.95 PP!

I’ve stayed here several times for business because it’s close to my client, but this was the last time I’ll stay. Room service is via a QR code and a WhatsApp message, the WhatsApp was slow to respond again. When I finally put my order through, I was told that half of what I’d requested wasn’t available and I’d have to collect it myself as there was no room service available that night. I asked us someone would let me know when to collect and was told yes. I then waited an hour for the food and when I chased it up, I was offered a drink voucher (I don’t drink on week nights in work trips). In the end I cancelled the food as it took so long. This is not the first issue I’ve had. I’ve had issues with the sauna not working, gym access cards not working, the room not being cleaned, rubbish being left outside rooms for hours, noise from a school trip, the WhatsApp service not working at all, the QR code not working and the WiFi being down for long periods. None of this is conducive to a good rest of a business trip. It’s unfortunate as the hotel itself looks lovely, the food is good and the gym is well equipped, but honestly, there needs to be some care and attention from management. This hotel isn’t cheap and therefore I expected better.

A beautiful, welcoming, clean and airy hotel, with an abundance of facilities, including a pool and spa facilities. It came recommended to us by my friend, who visits it regularly. All the staff members were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing and catered for vegan and gluten free well. The location was a distance from town but it was situated next to the train station (Cambridge North) and buses outside the entrance. The parking was plentiful - the station car park run privately, that backs onto the hotel. It can be paid for online, when you park.

Modern clean hotel right next to the train station. Cambridge North. Room is of good size and storage space is good. There is a well stocked small supermarket right across the hotel COOP. Not much food options around. Bus stop is short distance away into town. It’s actually walkable about 30-40 minutes to center of Cambridge. Would stay here again.

The hotel is modern, clean and comfortable with nice communal areas for drinks and food, plus a pool and fitness centre. The service at breakfast and evening meal times during our stay wasn’t what it should be as staff struggled with guest numbers. The hotel itself is quite isolated but there’s regular busses and trains into Cambridge Centre right outside the door, plus theres a coop opposite for supplies. The return train was £5.25 for 3 adults and child under 5. Car parking is an additional cost but was just £12 ish for the entire bank holiday weekend. The hotel room was great and well equipped with very good shower, safe and a fridge. Staff were always polite and helpful.

Beautiful hotel, clean and quiet considering it’s next to a train station. Food was superb, dinner was delicious despite the price and plenty of choice for breakfast. The only criticism I have would be the staff who were very polite and professional when spoken to however could have been more attentive. Had to ask for the bill 3 times after dinner and on check in at reception no information was given about hotel facilities, check out time, breakfast times etc. Great location can get train into Cambridge or drive from the hotel however parking is expensive in Cambridge and at the hotel (depending on your duration) so would have been nice to have free parking given the price paid for the room. Overall though very pleasant and comfortable stay.

Very pleased with my stay at this hotel. On arrival I was greeted by a very nice Italian lady who got me a large glass of iced water to take up to the room. The room was modern, spotlessly clean with fully working aircon which I certainly needed on a very hot day. The restaurant staff were attentive and friendly and good choice for dinner and breakfast. Will definitely be using this hotel again 👍

Had a lovely stay at this quality hotel. Room was clean and pleasant. Pool was fantastic. Only downside was the parking, which is tied to the local train station (and slightly more expensive than expected). But would definitely recommend!

Thank you guys so much, loved everything ❤️ from the receptionist, to the room, chef. Great staff, best gift for my husband's birthday. And that desert from the chef!! My my my! Chef kiss. Will definitely come back xx Worth every penny.

Very good hotel, modern, nice swimming pool. But the room are only cleaned every two days, and the personnel at the restaurant not very professional.
