It was a misty night so the drive to the hotel is challenging. Very warm welcom from the staff member and we were offered a drink. We love the hight, the food at the restaurant, the sauna and overall stay. We will always return on special occasion as Heidelberg local and always recommen to our visitors.

Wonderful roof-top sauna, a fine bar, good breakfast. Direct access to the funicular to Heidelberg, but do note the early closing times! The hotel restaurant is large, noisy, and has a limited offering of mainly local dishes. But it is OK.

I was thoroughly satisfied with my stay at this hotel. The view was stunning, and everything from the staff’s hospitality to the quality and atmosphere of the breakfast was truly excellent. The room, including the bathroom and toilet, was exceptionally spacious and comfortable. I also had dinner at the on-site restaurant, which was delicious. I genuinely regretted that I was only staying for one night. It deserved more time. One moment that stood out was during check-in, when a staff member kindly informed me that parking outside the hotel was free, while the hotel’s own parking was paid. I truly appreciated this level of attentiveness, even though I ultimately chose to park inside. This is a hotel I would love to return to without hesitation.

Amazing!! It’s right at the top of funicular train from town, so easy to get to town or back from town. Plenty of parking if you drive and amazing, truly amazing views!! The hiking is top notch down to the Castle, recommend the funicular back up. Rooms are gorgeous, clean, simple, with warm and cozy bedding and towels. Hit the sauna for a very warm warm up.

We loved our stay! Breakfast was good and parking was easy. Not free, but easy. Only thing I could say is that we got a balcony room and the person below us smoked on their balcony and it billowed into our room at night even though we had the door/windows closed.

Tolle Unterkunft! Wir kommen gerne wieder! Dass die Sauna schon morgens offen hat ist super!!! Dass es nur vier Liegen gibt, ist sehr schade und hat gestern leider nicht ausgereicht! Auch, dass wir keine Bademäntel bekommen haben, war schade… der Bedarf an mehr Platz im Wellnessbereich ist sicher da! Das Restaurant war sehr schön, der Salat sehr lecker und frisch! Der Hauptgang war 4 Minuten nach der Bestellung schon da und leider eine Enttäuschung… nur fett und geschmacklos… aber die Aussicht hat sich trotzdem gelohnt!

A beautiful place in the woods overlooking Heidelberg. The room was recently redone. The staff was very friendly and spoke fluent English. The view is breathtaking. Parking in front for just 9 Euros. Now, you’d better have a car to be back and forth between the hotel and town. The funicular / tram works till 7 pm.

We had a great one night stay at Berggastof Königstuhl! The room was clean and spacious. It was in a quiet area with a great view over Heidelberg. Breakfast was fabulous and we really enjoyed our meal at the restaurant! It would be even better if the cost of parking was included.

Der Sauna Bereich war sehr schön und sauber. Auf mein Wunsch wurde der Tisch beim Abendessen sehr schön hergerichtet und sogar ein Stück Kuchen mit einer Lichtfontäne wurde zum Abschluss an mein Mann überreicht.

Business-Trip nach Heidelberg: hoch oben im Odenwald liegt das tolle neue Hotel, mit TOP-Service, super leckerem Frühstück (zB gibt es selbstgebackene Brötchen und Brot - heutzutage sehr selten), eine kleine aber feine Saune mit einem fantastischen Blick auf Heidelberg, im Zimmer einen Wasserkocher, Tresor, Kühlschrank. Die Rezeption war total nett!

Das Hotelzimmer ist wunderschön, sehr sauber und modern, wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an wohlgefühlt. Leider ist die Begrüssung an der Rezeption nur mittelmäßig und der Service im Restaurant sehr schlecht. Komfort im Hotel und Qualität im Restaurant passen überhaupt nicht zusammen. Wir haben selten so schlecht gegessen, wie hier und als wir bei der Nachfrage, ob alles okay war, wahrheitsgemäß geantwortet haben, wurden wir von der Bedienung barsch angeredet, dass wir selber schuld wären, wenn wir das Essen konsumiert hätten. Leider nie wieder Berggasthof!

Der Aufenthalt war toll. Die Aussicht aus der Junior Suite auf Heidelberg ist jeden Preis wert. Unser Zimmer war leider nicht optimal sauber, woraufhin wir die Rezeption kontaktierten. Die Damen dort haben sich sofort gekümmert und uns am kommenden Tag beim auschecken den Preis des Frühstücks und der Minibar erlassen. Daher super Bewertung.

Sehr schönes Haus in besonderer Lage. Bereits das Economy EZ (hervorragendes Queensize Boxspring) erfüllte meine Wünsche zu 100%. Sehr gutes Frühstücksbuffet (19€). Parkplatz 9€ auf dem Gelände und zusätzlich kostenlos vor dem eigenen Parkplatz. Manko: WC Bürste schmutzig und lose vom Stiel! Sowas sollte vom Housekeeping bereits am ersten Tag bemerkt werden. Insgesamt aber sehr empfehlenswert!

This hotel is wonderful! It has a beautiful view of Heidelberg from atop a mountain. The hotel is clean, rooms are a good size, staff is awesome. To get there we took a bus from the center of town that dropped us off right at the hotel door. The next day we took the funicular (located right at the hotel) to the castle to look around then down to town. The breakfast they offer at a reasonable price has many choices. Though our stay here was brief, it was lovely.

This is a beautiful, newly refurbished hotel with absolutely stunning views. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The bedrooms are fitted tk a very high standard and are immaculately clean. We watched a breathtaking sunset from our balcony after a fantastic meal in the restaurant.

Stunning views from a hotel with views of Heidelberg. Rooms are very clean , modern and have a very comfy bed. Kettle and fridge in room as well as usual amenities. Good shower. Are in the hotel - excellent food and service. Would advise to book. Breakfast was lovely. Great choices available from hot buffet to cold cereal and cheeses /meats. Would stay again. Very friendly staff.

I'm so in love with this hotel, I have to come back and bring my husband. Everything, from the spectacular views to the comfortable beds (such a rarity) to the actual AC in the rooms to the glorious bathtub, was a dream. Maybe my favorite hotel I've ever stayed in and can't wait to return one day!

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in and explore Heidelberg! It was fun staying above the city instead of in it as were able to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. Getting around wasn’t as easy as if you were staying in the city proper but we found taxi, uber, freenow, the bus and the funicular as helpful ways to get around even in the rain! Make sure to enjoy the view and the surrounding trails. The breakfast buffet was also fantastic! I will say the only down side of our trip was that the WiFi kept cutting in and out while we were relaxing in our room. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

It could have been one of my best stays only if the management was better. Too many vacant rooms but they put most guests on the first floor next to each other. I could hear all the noise and sounds from neighbors and also tourists around the hotel.

The location of the hotel is near the summit of the Königstuhl hill of the Odenwald mountains. It might not be an ideal place to stay if you want to be close to the city of Heidelberg. But an excellent place for some peace and quiet, not to mention suberb recreational areas for hiking or bicycling. Rooms are great with AC, very comfortable beds, clean and overall in mint condition. Very good breakfast buffet with traditional German and intercontinental food. You will have a stunning view of the city from this hotel.

Wow, what a wonderful view. The balcony upgrade is a must here. In the heat wave the air con struggled but not enough to. Customer service was brilliant throughout. Can't wait to return.

Stunning views from a hotel with views of Heidelberg. Rooms are very clean , modern and have a very comfy bed. Kettle and fridge in room as well as usual amenities. Good shower. Are in the hotel - excellent food and service. Would advise to book. Breakfast was lovely. Great choices available from hot buffet to cold cereal and cheeses /meats. Would stay again. Very friendly staff.

A beautiful place in the woods overlooking Heidelberg. The room was recently redone. The staff was very friendly and spoke fluent English. The view is breathtaking. Parking in front for just 9 Euros. Now, you’d better have a car to be back and forth between the hotel and town. The funicular / tram works till 7 pm.

My wife an I got the key to room 106, and when we came into the room we saw that there were already people staying there. Clothes, bags, shoes. What a shock! When I returned to the reception they just switched keys like nothing had happened. This destroyed the experience of our stay. I expect more from a 4-star hotel.

Their own brochure at the desk states that the restaurant closes at 10 pm. We asked if we needed reservations and we were told they were not needed. By 9 pm we showed up at the restaurant and we were told they were not serving anymore because the kitchen was closed. We asked at reception and they were very rude, did not make any accommodations and did not apologize. Unacceptable and unbelievable given that there are no other restaurants nearby in the vicinity.

Der Aufenthalt war toll. Die Aussicht aus der Junior Suite auf Heidelberg ist jeden Preis wert. Unser Zimmer war leider nicht optimal sauber, woraufhin wir die Rezeption kontaktierten. Die Damen dort haben sich sofort gekümmert und uns am kommenden Tag beim auschecken den Preis des Frühstücks und der Minibar erlassen. Daher super Bewertung.

Absolutely amazing. Views and facilities breathtaking. However, be aware that it can be expensive and require timing to get up and down from the the city if you don’t have a car. Bus is 3.20 euros one way, runs once an hour. Tram is 10 euros one way. It starts at 9 am and last one up is 7:20ish pm. Taxi about 20 euros.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in and explore Heidelberg! It was fun staying above the city instead of in it as were able to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. Getting around wasn’t as easy as if you were staying in the city proper but we found taxi, uber, freenow, the bus and the funicular as helpful ways to get around even in the rain! Make sure to enjoy the view and the surrounding trails. The breakfast buffet was also fantastic! I will say the only down side of our trip was that the WiFi kept cutting in and out while we were relaxing in our room. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

The location of the hotel is near the summit of the Königstuhl hill of the Odenwald mountains. It might not be an ideal place to stay if you want to be close to the city of Heidelberg. But an excellent place for some peace and quiet, not to mention suberb recreational areas for hiking or bicycling. Rooms are great with AC, very comfortable beds, clean and overall in mint condition. Very good breakfast buffet with traditional German and intercontinental food. You will have a stunning view of the city from this hotel.

Beautiful place to stay. Perfect location as you can take the mountain rail down to the town and castle. Rooms were great and the view was amazing. Would definitely stay here again. Staff helpful and friendly.

L’hôtel est situé en haut de la ville. Le funiculaire permet de rejoindre le centre très facilement et la vue est spectaculaire. Le personnel est accueillant et efficace. La chambre est très bien équipée, propre et calme. Nous avions une chambre classique, sans la belle vue sur la vallée. Du coup nous avons profité de la vue au bar ( excellent cappuccino ! ) Par contre nous n’avons pas aimé la nourriture du restaurant, assez chère et pas très savoureuse. Même si le personnel y était aussi très gentil !

We had a good stay. The staff were nice. The breakfast was excellent. We are dissatisfied regarding the charge for the breakfast. Firstly, I was under the impression that breakfast for 3 was included in our room booking charge. The hotel said no! But they insisted on charging €20 per day for each room i.e. their charge for 2 persons in each room. But we were only 2 adults and 1 child. Very unfair and probably not right. I do feel cheated! Tolle Unterkunft! Wir kommen gerne wieder! Dass die Sauna schon morgens offen hat ist super!!! Dass es nur vier Liegen gibt, ist sehr schade und hat gestern leider nicht ausgereicht! Auch, dass wir keine Bademäntel bekommen haben, war schade… der Bedarf an mehr Platz im Wellnessbereich ist sicher da! Das Restaurant war sehr schön, der Salat sehr lecker und frisch! Der Hauptgang war 4 Minuten nach der Bestellung schon da und leider eine Enttäuschung… nur fett und geschmacklos… aber die Aussicht hat sich trotzdem gelohnt!

We had a great one night stay at Berggastof Königstuhl! The room was clean and spacious. It was in a quiet area with a great view over Heidelberg. Breakfast was fabulous and we really enjoyed our meal at the restaurant! It would be even better if the cost of parking was included.

Das Hotel selbst ist zu empfehlen. Die Zimmer waren schön eingerichtet und sauber. Das Frühstück war gut. Man hatte alles was man für eine gutes Frühstück braucht. Das Restaurant Bergstube ist leider nicht empfehlenswert. Wir hatten die Käsespätzle und ein Schnitzel Wiener Art. Das Schnitzel war furztrocken und überhaupt nicht gewürzt. Die Soße dazu, die man extra bezahlen musste war eine dicke pampige Brühe. Käsespätzle waren ein einziger großer Klumpen. Die Gaststätte selbst hatte SB-Charakter und der Service war auch überaus unfreundlich. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältniss passte hier überhaupt nicht. Anscheinend muss man für die wirklich tolle Aussicht über Heidelberg überhöhte Preise bezahlen. Insgesamt hat das Hotel ohne Restaurant 5 Sterne verdient, aber das Restaurant und der Service nur einen Stern.
