Very convenient location jyst off the M60. Great staff and room was in good order when we arrived. Over the bath shower in 103 on the ground floor. Adjacent pub has top notb food. They also brew gheir own beer whi h went down well. Entertainment was provided Saturday &Sunday over the August Bank Holiday. On a warm day the outside seating by the canal us akways in demand.

A great place to stay, we used it for an overnight to watch a band at the AO arena in Manchester. Plenty of parking space and the rooms are comfortable, nice bed and great shower. Don't expect luxury here but it does the job well for the price point. All staff we interacted with were very nice, we had lunch and breakfast here and both were good. Overall, highly recommended and we'll be back.

Our 2nd stay here to attend a concert at in Manchester. Can't really fault it, comfortable rooms with nice beds and shower. Attached bar was very festive at this time of year and a good place to have a drink. Breakfast was good. Recommended!

Clean, tidy property that was well maintained. Beds were comfortable, breakfast was lovely and the hotels location on the Rochdale canal was lovely (albeit also next to the motorway). Surprisingly quiet considering the traffic. My one wish was for air conditioning or at the very least access to a fan. It was stiflingly hot in the room.

We had a spacious room on the ground floor with a large bathroom. The place was spotless and reasonably well equipped. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate supplied with cookies. There was also a hairdryer and an iron. No fridge or air con although the windows do open slightly but it is close to a busy road so this was quite noisy. One thing irritated me was the mirror was too far away from the sockets when using the hairdryer. We didnt have interact much with the staff but they were friendly and polite when we did.

A decent place with good room amenities and a comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet was tasty with lots of options. The carpet in my room was in need of a good shampoo, it was not very clean. The staircase was in similar condition. And while I appreciate being energy efficient, entering a dark hallway (lights are motion activated) on my floor when coming and going made me uncomfortable.

Very good price and parking was brilliant. Nice guy on recption when I arrived but the lighting in the corridor outside my room did not come on unless I walked 2 rooms past it! Also the lobby light and main bathroom light in my room did not work. Although early evening I was nearly turned away in the restaurant! They assumed I wanted the carvery and were a bit unwelcoming at first. I was about to panic and drive off somewhere else when they said I could stay. Pub was noisy with large groups and families enjoying the carvery but i found the carvery smell unpleasant. Saying that my small fish and chops was very nice. Not sure why but the TV did not work at 6:00am but did at 8:00 am - wondered if they stopped the signal at night. All in all good for the price

Inside the holes of the hotel, and in the hotel rooms was a very musky smell. And I guess I learned you really get what you pay for. The room was fine and larger than some others that we had stayed in during this trip. The food at the restaurant for dinner was actually pretty good.

Lift broken, sign hiding exposed wires. Walls have been patched not painted. Floors everhwre stained and looked dirty. Chair dirty. Sofa bed u compfy. Shower not powerful. Was meant to be a nice get away to watch daughters concert glad we only had to sleep.

A decent place with good room amenities and a comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet was tasty with lots of options. The carpet in my room was in need of a good shampoo, it was not very clean. Having stayed at other JW Lees properties, I was a little disappointed by my stay at the Boat House. The accommodation felt like a rundown Premier Inn and my room needed some attention. The toilet bowl was damaged and the bathroom just didn't feel clean. The restaurant lacked any flair and the staff just delivered food with no interest. Breakfast was poor quality which surprised me as I would have expected a higher standard (through prior experiences). Perhaps my expectations of the Boat and Horses was unfairly higher but I probably wouldn't stay again.

Welcoming, easy check in on a late arrival which was great. The hotel was reasonable priced. The rooon and bathroom was lovely and clean, had evertrhing we needed. The only negative thing to write is you can hear people walking around on the floor above you. Which felt quite loud from being asleep. Apart from that, everything else was fantastic.

Clean spacious room, but the noise from the room above was terrible. Could have been young children running up and down the room for a couple of hours, but it was so audible in my ground floor room that I had no option to wake up (far earlier than I wanted to).

Room was basic but fine. Just every staff member we encountered at hotel and the pub next door were rude or just couldn’t be bothered. The guy on reception were the only one who actually even acknowledged you. The food in pubs ok but portion sizes are ridiculous so small.

The staff went out of their way to be very helpful. Room was lovely but sofa bed wasn’t made up and there was no extra bedding, the man on reception came and sorted the bed making it up himself. The staff in the pub were very helpful too and we were very grateful. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Check in was easy, the staff member on the desk was courteous and professional. Our family room was generous in size, clean and functional. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. We were in the area to visit friends. Not sure we would come to the area otherwise as its probably a bit far from the city centre to be used as a base for going in. But, for us, we will definitely book to stay again for our future visits.

Receptionist on check in was brilliant, brekkie was very good, nothing too flash just good hearty food. Hotel was very clean & in good condition, a huge bed & walk in shower on request. The only downside is the location is on a main busy junction & a busy Costco behind the hotel

Online check-in was smooth. The reception staff were welcoming. The room was comfortable and spacious with all the essential conveniences available. There was a good variety of breakfast. The location was ideal, close to the motorways and only a short drive to the Co op live arena. The car park was included with no extra charge. I would recommend to stay here.

Service from reception through to the adjoining pub/restaurant was excellent. Restaurant food was very good both selection/quality & price. Breakfast buffet was very good wide choice of bakery, cereals and cooked. Only minor criticism was limited fruit option for the health conscious.

they had no eggs at breakfast. The person serving said the delivery had not arrived- there was a supermarket just down the road but when I mentioned this she said the company would not allow her to buy eggs- must be from the agreed supplier. Not her fault that there was zero service- it is the responsibility of the managers who have failed to understand what is customer service. ustomer
