We stayed at the Old Loans Inn as a 12 man golf party. The staff are extremely friendly & helpful. The hotel is very clean & tidy with comfortable, spacious rooms. The resteraunt and bar areas are comfortable and relaxed with a very busy but pleasant atmosphere. Food in the restaurant was really very good. The bar stocked a great choice of beverages so all the party were happy. The only down side for us all was how hot the temperature was in both the rooms and the hotel in general. Even with the aircon unit on in the room it was hard to sleep. We all agreed we would stay here again, very handy for all the golf courses in Troon.

Lovely large comfortable room and spacious bathroom. Great spa quality toiletries. Food in the restaurant is wonderful and the service from the staff exceptional. We didn't get to experience the breakfast properly as we had to leave before the official breakfast start time, however, the Reception staff requested the Night Porter to set up the Continental breakfast early for us so we could get something to eat before we left. This was duly done and we were so impressed that they had carried out their promise. Good onsite parking and EV charging. Fun Pub Quiz held on the last Friday of every month which is worth factoring in to your planning! But book a table in the restaurant ahead of time as it gets full due to the popularity from both guests and locals alike!

This is a quaint Inn with dining room, outdoor seating area and a bar. If you don't have a car, there is not much nearby. It's quite a walk into town, which we did and had a lovely meal at Scott's restaurant at the marina. This would be a great place to stay for golfing at Troon.

We chose this hotel as a stopover on the way back from visiting family. We were very pleased that we picked this hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant was really good,lovely fresh cooked food. Our room was very well equipped, and very fresh and clean. Breakfast was extremely good, again fresh well presented good food and a very pleasant waiter in the restaurant. When we are back in the area we will definitely be staying here again on our stopover, no need to look anywhere else it ticked all our boxes.

From walking in the door to leaving, all the staff were really friendly and knew what they were doing. Room was clean and comfortable. Evening meal was excellent, breakfast was very good. Had a few pints after my meal and still got change from my limit of £150. Thank you

Overnight stay with Daughter for Birthday celebration. From the minute we checked in we got a good vibe with this hotel. Room was lovely and bathroom spotlessly clean. Had dinner which was superb and breakfast most enjoyable. Staff were professional and very friendly. Well done!! Keep up the good work. Will definitely be back.

This was my second stay at Loans, very nice Hotel, restaurant has been recently refurbished to very high standard. If i had to find a negative it would be the breakfast chefs attempt at Eggs Benedict/Loans, it was terrible and let everything else down, however i would still go back. I would also recommend they spend a few quid on some modern televisions(Man thing)

Had a good 2 night stay supposed to be 3 but left a night early due to lack of sleep as the bed was like sleeping on a concrete slab, otherwise everything else was spot on! Would stay again if the mattresses were softer.

Not as good an experience as our last trip. Our room was noisy above the bar in the evening. Our duvet cover had a mattress protector inside instead of a duvet which was very odd. Fortunately the lady on reception solved the problem by sending a duvet up to us. Also slow to take our breakfast order this time.

Re our phone call we didn’t get to the hotel due to weather. We were advised by government not to travel and we seen on the television Troon was flooded. I think it is terrible that we are not being refunded our money as by looking at things we would have been lucky to get there anyway

Quiet hotel in nice surroundings. Cleanliness was spot on and housekeeper's are a credit. For what I paid I would say the money wasn't worth it. I asked for early check out, which I eventually got, but communication amongst Managers didn't occur, even after asking for a second time. Two days before checking out there was an issue with my room I raised, which was never resolved, the hotel kept repeating maintenance would look into the matter which did not happen. It wasn't drastic but I am sure others would ha e raised this further than me.

Went for family birthday. Hotel allows dogs so mum was able to take her wee bestie . Meal was not the best had to return some dishes . Mum didn’t sleep well due to excessive noise banging doors in middle of night . Then on departure as we were putting cases in car as my daughter was coming out she was approached and asked to settle the bill . I had already paid for stay online . I had still to pay for dogs £20 . They charged my daughter £180 ! Went in to see receptionist to explain . Eventually after phoning head office to confirm she refunded my daughter but said it will take 3 days to go back on her card ! Not happy !

Absolutely loved our stay. We cannot wait to come back again soon. The hotel was so charming. The staff were very sweet and the manager went out of his way to accommodate our requests. This will be our annual stay.

This was my second stay at Loans, very nice Hotel, restaurant has been recently refurbished to very high standard. If i had to find a negative it would be the breakfast chefs attempt at Eggs Benedict/Loans, it was terrible and let everything else down, however i would still go back. I would also recommend they spend a few quid on some modern televisions(Man thing)

There are a couple of staff who are fantastic Cocktails poor didn’t come as described Dinner average Breakfast very poor. Most definitely not luxury and not cheap either A few minor tweaks and the scores I have given would be higher

Lovely large comfortable room and spacious bathroom. Great spa quality toiletries. Food in the restaurant is wonderful and the service from the staff exceptional. We didn't get to experience the breakfast properly as we had to leave before the official breakfast start time, however, the Reception staff requested the Night Porter to set up the Continental breakfast early for us so we could get something to eat before we left. This was duly done and we were so impressed that they had carried out their promise. Good onsite parking and EV charging. Fun Pub Quiz held on the last Friday of every month which is worth factoring in to your planning! But book a table in the restaurant ahead of time as it gets full due to the popularity from both guests and locals alike!

From walking in the door to leaving, all the staff were really friendly and knew what they were doing. Room was clean and comfortable. Evening meal was excellent, breakfast was very good. Had a few pints after my meal and still got change from my limit of £150. Thank you

Not as good an experience as our last trip. Our room was noisy above the bar in the evening. Our duvet cover had a mattress protector inside instead of a duvet which was very odd. Fortunately the lady on reception solved the problem by sending a duvet up to us. Also slow to take our breakfast order this time.

My room at the front was a little noisy, it was hot so I needed the windows open which I suspect didn't help. The floors are quite old and creaky, but I slept really well. There is aircon in the restaurant, good selection of food and drink and friendly service, breakfast was pretty good, I thought the buffet selection looked nice (I had eggs Benedict).
