Great hotel stayed here many times Only thing was that they had bollards up stopping us using the front car park Absolutely ludicrous….. We weren’t the only ones complaining either No excuse get them lowered so the people paying your wages can park where they like

Very poor experience all around. The power went out on the first night, I ended up in the car park in the cold. The power was off until 2am, no explanation what actually happened. Second day the gym was closed. I paid a premium for the hotel becuae it had the gym (I could of stayed in another hotel in newcastle for £50). Again no explanation why it closed. Door into the room was faulty, took a few tries to get it open, no easy when your hands are full. Shower didn't run hot. I got a refund for my third night stay (i was condidering asking for full refund), booked into another hotel close by.

Beautiful clean large superior room. Breakfast perfect. Leisure, lovely sauna & steam room. Pool very shallow and not always able to use as other activities on. Hot tub doesn't exist, it is part of the pool, has jets, not hot, and access by entering the pool. Certainly needs upgrading. No rails around the pool and only one entry via steps. Marriott is normally excellent in every way. Staff lovely. Had one evening meal, quite limited in choice. Food needs to be hotter.

The bathroom is H&S risk - tap has obviously been pulled of and refitted after someone had used it as an aid when struggling to get out of bath - totally understandable -kinda works but mouldy looking and ending up using shower after failing to get hot water into bath. Needs a grab rail by towel shelf? Bath far too deep! Swimming Pool had swimming lessons on arrival until 8ish in evening and was not going to reopen until 920 following morning so not able to use. Lift jamming on 3rd floor reported on morning of departure but seemed to clear - felt unable to use with confidence. Disappointed as this was a second chance for this Marriot. Deserve a refund for this stay?

Nice, clean comfortable hotel. Easy to access from the A1. Location is in the middle of a shopping area with several retail parks and a shopping centre. The only fault I found was the restaurant wasn't open during the week. Food was served in the bar, which is too small to accommodate everyone who wants to eat. It would be very simple to allow people to sit in the restaurant area and bring bar food to them there, rather than be frustrated waiting for a table.

The breakfast was perfect and bedroom was lovely the only thing wrong was the pillows were too soft i had 3 which ended up ok but my wife wanted a foam one but kept sendind the same kind, my wife will bring her own next time. The pool was wonderful with a jacuzzi

The hotel is well-placed and fairly modern. The beds were comfortable and our children really enjoyed the pool. We were disappointed by the cleanliness unfortunately, we arrived at our room with a plate of food outside the door, then inside the room the top of the cupboard was covered in litter and there was food under one of the beds. A little bit disappointing really for the price we paid.

This is Generally a really good hotel and I usually stay once a month or more for business My recent trip wasn’t great - the toilet in the room was dirty and unflushed from the previous guest/user. The shower was half cleaned - the flooring in the cubicle had a grainy orange film that I had to wash off before using (it was dried residue) Terrible nights lack of sleep as there was a real loud humming all night, the external wall was vibrating with this I went down to the reception in the evening - no one present When checking out, no one present on reception I felt very disappointed as I usually have a lovely stay and find this to be one of the better hotels in the North East of England

The spa was very dirty floor and loungers the pool looked cloudy . They charged me to much and had to get refunded The staff where good The room and bed comfortable but showers dripped and couldn’t empty bath . Very disappointed with Marriott The lifts broke and had to use the staff entrance Very disappointed as we asked for a sofa bed to be made up and didn’t get it Not 4 star sorry Ann George

I stayed for 1 night, the room was very good size. The bed was comfortable but I did not get much sleep as there was a humming noise from what sounded like a generator coming from joining wall. The bathroom was also a very good size. All very clean. I could not control the heat in shower,and it was very hot, did not seem to be able to turn temperature down. Nice decor in room. The breakfast was great, lit of choice, staff very helpful. Overall was good, just the noise and shower that were a problem.

Hotel was unbearably hot. Our room was right next to the fans outside the building which ran constantly this meant we couldn't open the window because the noise was so loud. The air conditioning was even louder. I got very little sleep because it was so hot in our room. There was also no mini fridge in the room which I found odd as it was supposed to be a superior room.

Hotel is in good condition for the age of it. The rooms are nice although they have a slightly dated feel. Our room smelled like stale smoke…so it was either an old smoking room or someone was smoking in the bathrooms and it was coming through the vents. Other than that it was decent enough.

Hotel was ok room for a deluxe was just standard, the room was clean,bed very soft and pillows were terrible, didn't sleep well room to hot,couldn't open the window fir the noise from outside it was like a buzzing sound maybe a generator you could her it when the window was clised aswell, so all in all not a great nights sleep.

Nice clean and modernised hotel, staff were highly professional and pleasant. Room was very comfortable, the only point i would say is that i couldnt switch the room lights on and off from the bed, just the lamps, you have to get up and go to each light and lamp to turn them off, the rooms arent small by the way. I would definitely stay again though.

Everything was satisfactory apart from when we asked for a cot for our 1 year old. I asked 3 times in an hour and a half for one and finally got it way past my child’s bed time. And when the staff member arrived she was rude about it. Terrible service

Excellent and friendly front desk staff. Facilities well maintained and towels provided for use of guests in the pool / gym. Room was absolutely massive with plenty of space. Request for walk in shower was met too.

From entering the lobby which was lovely and beautifully decorated for Xmas to the friendly efficient reception staff to my great comfy, clean and facilitous room to a very nice dinner served by really great staff to a very nice breakfast and my check out where reception staff wished me a great day.. A very enjoyable stay!

This was a convenient property used for visiting St James Park which is just a 20 minute taxi ride away. Hotel and rooms are dated but the rooms are spacious. Staff are very helpful and solved every issue we had. Booked because of air con however our first room was extremely hot as towel heater were on full blast. Enquired at from desk and they swiftly moved us and room was more comfortable. Air con still was not that cold so don't rely on it for comfort. Fan was provided. Free parking and use of leisure facilities was a real bonus. Food pricy so didn't buy. Just across the road from fast food and retail parks. Perfect weekend location. Would recommend but needs updating.

We stay here most years for a short break, it is very conveniently located just off the A1 right next to the metro centre with good transport links. Also handy for restaurants, bars and nightlife in Newcastle. The hotel is always clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful, there is also a restaurant and swimming pool on site.

Travelling from Scotland it was so easy to leave the A1 and within a few minutes we were at the Hotel. Booked a room with two queen sized beds so loads of room. Very clean and 5 minutes walk to the Metro Centre. Hotel has a bar and grill. Food was good and reasonably priced. I would definitely go there again if I was visiting Newcastle.

Nice and comfy room, the bathroom could use re-decorating soon but still comfortable. The hotel restaurant is terrible, breakfast was just about acceptable but I wish I'd gone for dinner somewhere else. There are plenty of other choices in the Metro centre.

Lovely hotel, great room, although needs an refresh as parts were a little tatty. Lovely spa although busy and nowhere to sit and relax. Breakfast was very disappointing, the food was cold, the bacon and sausage were to hard to cut with my knife and the eggs were hard, nothing was fresh and no staff on hand to ask for fresh, when I complained at reception I was told that my comments would be passed on but they won't be! This response isn't acceptable a refund should be offered from such a great chain of hotel !

Room was ok, it was very very cold when we entered the room as the window was open. No water in the fridge, I presume non is provided anymore. Rubbish coffee facilities as you have no idea what the coffee pods are Bed was extremely uncomfy Breakfast was very poor, dirty cups on the table, food not cooked well The Marriott is not what it used to be after either being taken over by the Delta bit or it’s just been downgraded

Staff very happy to help. However glasses of wine hideously expensive feel quite strongly that you are profiteering excessively on this item - but that's we've learnt and will ensure we'll just bring our own - and you lose any sale. Wise up - £12.50 is not acceptable for a glass of wine

Myself & 2 sons stayed here whilst visiting family. My youngest son is a wheelchair user and we had no problems accessing the facilities at the hotel..which is rare. Every Interaction I had with staff was delightful and the breakfast selection was top tier. The lifts were fast...and the pool area was a nice treat for the kids. Definitely would return .
