The hotel was in a busy part of the city, which was nice because we were so close to main attractions. The hotel has storage lockers, so we were able to leave our luggage there before officially checking into the room. Breakfast was good with a lot of options. They had “light cleaning” every day, and on the third day of the stay, the staff would do a full cleaning. One thing that bothered me was that when I requested an extra towel, we were charged for it. I have never been asked to pay for extra linens in a hotel before. Overall, I would still stay in this hotel again, due to its wonderful location and the super helpful staff!

I liked the quick check in and check out via machines, no waiting. The room was small but clean and stocked with toiletries. I especially liked that they had washers and dryers because I was able to do laundry before I arrived home. Staff were friendly and helpful.

ROOM SMELLED AWFUL AND LIKE CIGARETTES. We are currently checked in at this hotel, and the room that was given to us smelled so bad, specifically cigarettes, and it’s giving us the worst headache. We asked the front desk if they can give us another room, and they said we can just spray it with an air freshener. This was honestly the worst experiences in Japan so far. ALSO, there are two of us in the room and they only have one pillow on the bed. We then asked the front desk staff for an extra one, and they said they don’t have any stock. So they wanted us to SHARE ONE PILLOW? This is just ridiculous for a hotel to not have a stock of this basic needs. Do not book this hotel if you care about cleanliness and are sensitive to bad odour. Also don’t be surprised if they cheap out on providing pillows.

This room was noisy, the windows were thin, we could hear the noisy road traffic, the light in the room was bright white like a hospital room. The room was spacious and the breakfast was basic. We noticed red, itchy bites after sleeping in our bed and are unsure what caused them. The area around the hotel seems dark and shabbier. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

we had a 3 persons room (1 double bed and 1 single bed). it was perfect for our family with plenty of space to store 3 suitcases and spread out of shopping bags before packing up and heading back home. The room and the hotel was in excellent condition. The check-in was fast. Despite being near a very large road connector the room was fairly quiet (to the exception of some crazy motorbike drives once in a while) because they used double glass windows. And the location is perfect: basically at Namba subway station, right next to Dotonbori, yet away from the crowded area, and close enough to Namba Nankai station that you can walk there with suitcases in less than 10min. I would highly recommend to stay at this Toyoko-Inn when in Osaka.

Location was great, next to the vast Osaka Namba station so taking trains was convenient. The room was clean, staff were courteous and the breakfasts were delicious. Loved that the room doors softly close and not slam shut. The only drawback was that the bed was hard.

最上階14階の部屋でしたが、水圧がかなり弱い。シャワーの水圧弱くて、湯船のお湯も溜めるのにかなり時間がかかる。おまけにトイレの水流も弱くて、トイレットペーパー少し多めに使うと流せなくなり、10回以上流してようやく流れてくれた。

I booked this hotel and paid in full. I arrived in the morning after a 20-hour flight and just wanted to rest. However, the hotel canceled my reservation without my permission. Their reason was that I didn’t respond to their message while I was on the plane. They didn’t care that I was unable to reply during the flight. They only gave me a partial refund with a cancellation fee. When I rebooked directly at the hotel, the staff told me they would match the original price I had paid. But when I returned later to check in, they said they couldn’t match that price. After some discussion, they eventually agreed to match it. We then brought up the cancellation fee from the previous booking, since the issue wasn’t caused by us — we simply couldn’t respond while flying. However, the staff’s response was, “Do you want to cancel your booking again?” I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you’re taking a long flight. If they can’t reach you for any reason, they may cancel your booking without your permission.

Pro tip: if you use Google Maps, it routes you through paths with elevators instead of stairs — so you won’t have to drag your luggage up and down train station steps (a small win after a long flight). It’s within walking distance to the famous Glico Running Man Sign, a Don Quijote Dotonbori branch a few blocks away, and several well-known ramen spots nearby. The complimentary breakfast is much appreciated, though the selection was limited (mostly Japanese-style dishes), and ingredients weren’t clearly labeled. As someone with dietary restrictions, I ended up just having some juice and a few small croissants. Luggage storage is available after check-out. The room was clean. However, check-out time (10 a.m.) was quite early compared to the usual 11–12 a.m. elsewhere. Would I stay again? Yes, absolutely. We had a deluxe twin room wich was really spacious the breakfast was really great from 6:30 bedore taking the train in the morning. The hotel surrounding are great distance from dotombori, namba area to eat or go shopping.
