Staff were professional, friendly and very helpful at all times. Our 1-night stay was lovely, room very well kept and the pantry was a bonus. Lovely cocktail drinks on rooftop, helped by an amazing summers day. Brilliant location and very much enjoyed our lunch on the terrace overlooking the beach.

Wonderful stay in a quirky questhouse. Our luggage was picked iup at the train station in their luggage bike (by the owner!)and delivered to our room so we could enjoy fish and chips on the beach at the Kiosk (very nice) and visit the Turner Art Centre before check in. Easy short walk after our stay with luggage to the station. We were not in a sea facing room but enjoyed breakfasts in the beautiful Pearly Cow restaurant and visited the top floor bar. The room was very large and stunningly decorated. Bathroom was quite separate with the best shower she has ever had according to my sister while I luxuriated in the bath. Top quality bathroom lotions. Very laid back vibe. And The Pantry, complimentary, where we couldn't resist popping out for fudge, sweets, beautiful cakes, ice cream and cold drinks. A Gem of a Guesthouse. 💕

Beautifully located with spectacular views over the beach. The roof top terrace is magnificent - more Mediterranean than the English Channel! The rooms are very stylish, the breakfast and evening meal are delicious. And most importantly, the staff are super helpful and friendly. I have stayed for pleasure and work in many hotels worldwide and this one ranks very highly!

Hi we stayed at Guesthouse 42 for one night as we were in Margate for a concert in Dreamland. This Guesthouse is in a brilliant location for everything in Margate. The rooftop bar gives an impressive view of the beach and harbor. The rooms are very well presented with a fridge, hair dryers, clothes steamer, tea and coffee machines, safe etc. Complimentary toiletries smell great. There is off site secure parking available for £20 , this needs to be pre booked. If you're feeling peckish there's a small pantry on the second floor which has pick and mix sweets, cakes, cold drinks, fruit etc which is all complimentary 24 hours a day. Breakfast is served in the ground floor restaurant again with great views of the beach and harbor. Thoroughly recommend this place and will definitely stay here again.

my husband and i stayed here as we were getting married in the area. we stayed in the sea view room and it was absolutely marvelous! everything was clean and the staff were all so wonderful and helpful (we got lost when finding parking but someone came out and showed us! it was dark so we couldn’t see). their spa package was also wonderful and relaxing. would happily stay again!

Very stylish! Comfy bed and quirky amenities. The coffee machine was temperamental and the lack of direct access to the main hotel was a shame as we had a spa treatment but couldn't really walk through the street with our robes on. The milk jugs at breakfast were dirty both days. Overall we had a great time but where the attention to detail in some areas was great, it lacked in others.

I always travel alone and Margate was a random pick for the final day of my vacation. But I was truly impressed by the exceptional warmth and hospitality of the staff. Wonderful little hotel. I normally shy away from smaller hotels and go for the big name brands, but this hotel had good reviews and there were limited options in Margate. What a revelation. It’s a fabulous hotel. Every staff member I spoke to was friendly and welcoming. The bed was incredibly comfortable and they had thought of everything. I loved the little pantry for snacks, the radio and record players were nice touches and the robe and slippers are always welcome. The view was great too. Breakfast was delicious. I will definitely be back if I’m sent to Margate again with work or for a mini break

A wonderful place to stay in the centre of Margate overlooking the town beach. Sound proof rooms so you can have a great nights sleep in your super comfy bed. The rooms have a record deck with a small selection of vinyl for you to play which was a quirky addition to the normal hotel room. Friendly staff and a beautiful restaurant which is also the breakdast room. Breakfast was cooked to your individual order with high quality products from a good selection. I hope to return soon for another relaxing stay.

The decor is really lovely, the staff are great and it's a really handy location near lovely restaurants like Dory's. The bed is comfy and the shower is strong. The duvet is pretty warm so worth setting the AC low at night.

This is a beautiful, gem of a hotel in Margate. There is a relaxed atmosphere as soon as you step in. We had a room looking onto the sea with a balcony. The room was very big and spacious with lots of amenities. The decor is stylish with additional touches like a record player and vintage phone and radio. The pantry with free snacks on the second floor is a lovely addition too. The restaurant which is used for breakfast is stylish with a good view of the sea. While we didn’t have the best weather for a seaside visit (!) the hotel made up for it making it a lovely night away. I would definitely recommend this hotel The staff were all pleasant and happy to help.

The room was EVERYTHING. Luxury, every tiny detail was thought out. From the cocktails in the mini-bar, to the locally made bath salts. This really was a dream come true. The only thing I would say is for a luxury hotel with a luxury room, the mindset of the management doesn't match. There isn't really any flexibility on small things / ability to accomodate in the way you might expect from a hotel of this standard. For example we wanted to check out 45 mins later and there wasn;t a booking immediately after us - but could not be accomodated without paying. We wanted a different kind of coffee, but you need to pay extra for certain coffees.. Either way HIGHLY recommended.

I came to Margate for an overnight solo birthday trip and I had the most wonderful time at No 42 by Guesthouse (Margate). The room was gorgeous - spacious, airy, well designed and with a balcony overlooking the beach that seats two people comfortably. There are lots of little amenities in the room that make your stay comfortable as well as supporting local businesses and artists, and the pantry is an excellent touch if you're feeling snacky. Dinner was all booked up by the time I checked in as it was a Sunday and everything closes a bit earlier but I got an excellent recommendation from the staff for the restaurant next door which was amazing. Breakfast in the morning was delicious (you can eat overlooking the sea) and I also tried a treatment the spa which was great (they give you a sample of the oil they use in your massage which was a lovely touch). I'd definitely return.

Beautifully decorated, lovely rooms, mostly good service, great pantry space with snacks, lovely rooms. Slightly patchy service at breakfast but also some great service behind the front desk. Would happily recommend.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at one of the lookout suites. A really enjoyable experience and very close to the beach, bars and restaurants. We will definitely be back!

A wonderful place to stay in the centre of Margate overlooking the town beach. Sound proof rooms so you can have a great nights sleep in your super comfy bed. The rooms have a record deck with a small selection of vinyl for you to play which was a quirky addition to the normal hotel room. Friendly staff and a beautiful restaurant which is also the breakdast room. Breakfast was cooked to your individual order with high quality products from a good selection. I hope to return soon for another relaxing stay.

The rooms are very stylish, the breakfast and evening meal are delicious. And most importantly, the staff are super helpful and friendly. I have stayed for pleasure and work in many hotels worldwide and this one ranks very highly!

Hi we stayed at Guesthouse 42 for one night as we were in Margate for a concert in Dreamland. This Guesthouse is in a brilliant location for everything in Margate. The rooftop bar gives an impressive view of the beach and harbor. The rooms are very well presented with a fridge, hair dryers, clothes steamer, tea and coffee machines, safe etc. Complimentary toiletries smell great. There is off site secure parking available for £20 , this needs to be pre booked. If you're feeling peckish there's a small pantry on the second floor which has pick and mix sweets, cakes, cold drinks, fruit etc which is all complimentary 24 hours a day. Breakfast is served in the ground floor restaurant again with great views of the beach and harbor. Thoroughly recommend this place and will definitely stay here again.

An unexpectedly lovely hotel in Margate booked at the last minute. We really appreciated the location, the decor, the facilities and the parking. We came in winter but are already planning a return trip in summer.

Beautiful rooms with great amenities, including a pantry with sweets and cakes! Amazing breakfast in the Pearly Cow restaurant downstairs. Only downside was we were too early in the season to enjoy the rooftop (not the hotel’s fault) but plenty of bars, microbreweries and cafes nearby to choose from instead.

Staff were professional, friendly and very helpful at all times. Our 1-night stay was lovely, room very well kept and the pantry was a bonus. Lovely cocktail drinks on rooftop, helped by an amazing summers day. Brilliant location and very much enjoyed our lunch on the terrace overlooking the beach.

Very stylish! Comfy bed and quirky amenities. The coffee machine was temperamental and the lack of direct access to the main hotel was a shame as we had a spa treatment but couldn't really walk through the street with our robes on. The milk jugs at breakfast were dirty both days. Overall we had a great time but where the attention to detail in some areas was great, it lacked in others.

Absolutely loved this hotel and wish we could have stayed more than 1 night! Very clean and stylish throughout with lovely little extras like a record player in the room plus a pantry where you could help yourself to pick n mix and other snacks. Also an amazing roof bar with a beautiful sea view. Plenty of choice at breakfast. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend and will stay again!

Rally lovely place to stay. The sea view room with the balcony is to die for! Cocktails good too! Will definitely be back. Make sure you double check that you aren’t mistakenly double charged if you have prepaid. Not a problem as it was sorted.
