Plunge Beach Resort

Great place! The free beach loungers and umbrellas made our beach time perfect! The personal were friendly and accommodating. A nice, quirky hotel.... perfect for couples!

This is always my go to when I’m in Lauderdale by the Sea! It’s so convenient to the beach, the uptown area. Not commercial, small boutique type feel! I only gave 4 stars to the facility because the elevator wasn’t working . Otherwise, always a pleasure staying there!

Great location - Awesome Staff! Definitely need more onsite bathrooms & need to update the ones that exist. One bathroom for pool and one for BlackFlip just doesn’t make sense. Actually, need to resolve lack of elevators….another would be nice, just saying 😬😬 Food was very good. Would absolutely return after they do renovations in 2026. Thanks !

I absolutely love this hotel! You can't beat the amenities. It's great that the beach chairs, umbrella, and towels are all included with your stay. They will even set everything up for you which is so convenient. I've stayed at other Florida hotels where the chairs and umbrellas are not included and charge so much. I love Plunge and will be back!

Didn’t care for the breakfast in the octopus restaurant, overpriced and underwhelmed. The elevator is slow and there is only 1 in the main building so took a long time to get to floor 4. Otherwise great place and would go back.

Great lobby and pool. Needs to upgrade: the AC in the gym didn't work; the elevator wall paint needed repair; we heard music from the walkway outside late at night...not good. The staff was friendly. The prices and quality at the coffee shop and restaurant were affordable and great. The pool was clean and beautiful. The staff at the beach was good.

The rooms are very basic. Concrete walls, no closets or storage, however they are clean! Can't beat the location and amenities. Beach front, Chairs and umbrellas, food/drink service on the beach, great breakfast, and pools.

Liked proximity to the beach and pool Didn’t like not enough room at the pool- people camp out there all day ((leave their gear and towels on their chaises)- and not enough chaises for number of guests Parking should be included in Resort fee-

I I stayed last Friday and Saturday at plunge resort unfortunately there were German cockroaches in our room the first night they did move us to another room but I feel I should be reimbursed for the resort fees or some part of this vacation.. I took the risk of bringing roaches into my home and that's not what vacation is supposed to be about

Being on the first floor. Ocean view a few steps away. Having a Frig and Keurig Machine. Did not like dead bugs on the floor. No carpet. No shower chair. Air conditioner did not work well.

Closeness to the beach is great, property and rooms seems to be not well maintained.

We love the property and location. This was our second stay. This room was filthy and unkept.

The hallway was run down, carpets dirty and torn. In room very dirty, carpet was damp. Would never stay there again. The location and pool were the highlights.

Property was pretty nice. Breakfast was good. Location was good. Carpet in the first room we got was filthy and smelled so bad we all could not bear it . We got different room with better carpet . Location of the room was nice so we decided to stay . Hotel building is old and needs renovation . Elevators are very old and slow. The biggest plus of the hotel is its location. It’s right on the beach !

Our room was ready when we got there but they wouldn’t let us check into the room before check in time without paying an $49.50 early entry fee. The room smelled like mold & the carpet was damp. Our clothes that we hung in the closet felt damp the next morning & the bathroom floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. Way too pricey for the condition of the resort.

I wont stay in a bungalow again. The floors turned my feet black dirty, the showers had mold on grout, the wall next to the sink was splattered with toothpaste, and the vents were caked with dust. But I loved the property and the staff and heard from others that the rooms in the main building were great- so if probably try that next time.

I traveled with 3 teenagers and they, along with myself enjoyed our stay. We loved the pool, the bar had really good food and service. There was signs on our floor that new carpet and paint were being updated, which were a little dated. Our room was very clean and we had a beautiful view of the ocean.

Basic clean rooms. Misleading about balcony…rooms with one bed only get a Juliet balcony which wasn’t clear when booking. They also advertised two pools but adult pool is exclusive to those in another section. Easy access to beach.

The location is great as it is an easy walk to dining options and is on the beach. The first room we were put in was quite noisy and eventually we were able to move to a much quieter room. The rooms have no coffee or tea which I think is a big miss. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are a good size. They could use a table and 2 chairs so that you don’t always have to sit on the bed. The onsite restaurant isn’t open all day, only the one by the beach. This is unfortunate because the restaurant off the lobby has a very nice ambiance. Some of the staff is great and some need a bit more training but this seems to be more common since covid. Overall it’s fine but could be better with some additional touches to make stays a bit more comfortable and pleasant.

The management is very good. The property is old and has been updated, very limited space to hang clothes or put away in drawers. Good for short stay. Great location. Staff are exceptional.

We stayed in Bungalow and our room was very small and very outdated. Our bathroom fan didn't work, the Exit sign illuminated into our window like a red light, no safe for our valuables thus never getting our room cleaned. Wish we knew more about the lodging itself before updating booking. We did end up at the hotel and our room was better but still very outdated.

Friendly, helpful staff. Spacious room with a comfortable bed and decent bathroom. Easy access to beach and pool and walkable center of town where the "action" is - bars, restaurants, shops. Shopping center right across the street is very convenient. Here's the downside: The place can use an overhaul. The industrial decor is dated and the hallway carpeting is old. Rooms are also carpeted, which is not a great idea in a beach resort as carpets can get pretty funky in short order. In addition, while there'a a small fridge and a safe, there's no microwave or coffee maker. We got hit with a $250 "resort fee" upon check in. Seriously? Haven't we had about enough of fees in every one of life's endeavors? On top of this, they nail you with a $25 per night parking fee. This is on top of the handsome rates that you're already paying for your stay. Seems a bit excessive. While this is certainly not a bad place to spend you time and money, if you're looking for a better deal and different amenities, look elsewhere. There are many choices in the area.

All in all was great. The rooms were clean and good sized. Beds were comfortable. Pool was spotless too. Cons: No microwave or coffee maker in the rooms. Never been to a resort that didn’t have that in the rooms. No ice machine on any of the floors in our building. Had to go to the bar to fill our cups with ice. Staff were pleasant and extremely pleasant.

They are replacing their carpets but not soon enough. Why carpets?

My wife and I have been to the Plunge a few years ago and I must report that the service has gone down dramatically. The staff at the beach bar needs to be trained better in customer service skills, and their attitude towards the customer needs a drastic improvement. If you want to be waited on and receive food in a timely manner do not sit at any of the tables that surround the bar, because all of the servers avoid you as if you were a bother to them. They also have a happy hour daily from 4:00-6:00PM and never give you the happy hour menu unless you ask. There was a Luau advertised on flyer's that they had placed around the resort taking place on Saturday from 3:00-6:00PM with drink and food specials being offered. When my wife and I went and sat down at one of the tables it took more than 15 minutes before a server came over to us and handed us a menu, and when I questioned what the specials were for the Luau she rolled her eyes and went back and brought us the separate specials menu. After that she ignored us and kept making drinks for other customers, until another 15 minutes went by before another server came over and took our order. We also noticed other unhappy customers having to get up from their tables and walk to the bar for service. The saving grace of our vacation came from the phenomenal service that was given from the staff who set you up on the beach every morning with lounge chairs and an umbrella. Staff was very helpful, friendly and trustworthy. I lost an expensive item and they found it and mailed it to me three days after my departure. Very grateful!

Ok so here are the pros and the cons: PROS: * amazing location * clean rooms ( but are in dire need of an upgrade) CONS: * bungalow rooms have almost zero space for belongings. No closet, no drawers for clothing. No space for toiletries. Do not expect to cook in kitchen very tiny electric burners, no oven. * we booked for 3 guests in the room and only were allowed 2 beach chairs, additional chair was 20.00 a day * there were many guests without wrist bands on the beach using beach chairs as well as in the adult only pool. Noone ever checked. This is a lack in security and safety. And they don't pay for use of beach chairs! They just walk over from other areas on the beach. * guests were smoking by the pool non stop, and Noone asked them to not smoke even though it is a smoke free area. * Housekeeping comes very late in the day, usually after 4pm *if you book a resort view room which we initially did, it was very unclear that you are not on the beach. You have to walk across the street to get to the pool and beach. We were very unhappy with this and for additional fees were able to change our room.

As always, the Plunge didn’t disappoint! The staff is always super helpful, especially Suzette at the front desk who has been there a few years and it the absolute best, going above and beyond for guests at check-in, or really helping with anything needed during out stay! The bungalow rooms are my new favorite rooms! The Plunge is always a good idea!

From the moment we arrived the staff was very accommodating. Erica at the front desk answered all our questions and made sure our room was perfect. Miguel and Tarvis were amazing beach attendants. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Overall, the resort was decent but had some drawbacks. The staff was friendly and accommodating, but the cleanliness of the property and rooms was just alright—not as great as expected. Unfortunately, our original room had no hot water, and we weren’t made aware of this until the next day, after we had already gone through cold showers. Once the issue was acknowledged, we were moved to another building where hot water was available, but the new room did not have the same pool access as our original booking, which was a bit disappointing. The room itself was fine, but nothing particularly special. With a little more attention to communication and upkeep, the experience could have been much smoother.

You can't beat the location of the Plunge, right on the beach with food and drink service. The pool was really nice and relaxing. The servers were extremely pleasant and helpful. The complaints we had were with the front desk and housekeeping. There was always a line at the front desk to talk to someone and we had to alert them twice that our room was in need of housekeeping. We stayed there three nights and housekeeping came once, only because we requested it. The hotel is worn but we did see signs that they are beginning a refresh of the room.

Overall a great place. The location was perfect to enjoy downtown. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

This was a perfect stay from the moment I walked through the door. I arrived at 10am, hoping to drop my bags and change for the beach before my 4pm check-in. They let me check in 6 hours early!!!! No fee. I didn’t even have to ask. Then I sat down to an absolutely delicious breakfast served by the delightful Cynthia, before settling into my big fluffy bed for a much needed nap after my 6am flight. It just kept getting better from there. The entire staff is unbelievably warm, friendly, and genuine. The food was excellent, and the accommodations on the beach (complimentary lounge chairs, towels, umbrellas, side tables and sunscreen all set up for you by a friendly beach attendant) made my time on their gorgeous beach feel totally luxurious. The beach bar and pool area were equally fabulous. I also really enjoyed Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. It’s laidback, unpretentious, quiet, and exactly what I was looking for in a getaway. I can’t say enough about this gem of a resort and I cannot wait to return.

Great time and right on the beach!

This is our third time staying at this hotel. Very friendly service, very comfortable beds, and great drinks at the bar. We really enjoyed our stay. The bars are within walking distance, and Pompano Beach is a 15-minute bike ride away. We highly recommend it!

My family and I were here for 4 nights during spring break and had an amazing trip! You don’t need a car…restaurants and shops are about a 10 minute walk and Publix/CVS is across the street. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Very clean and nice staff. Good location. Free daily bicycle use was a nice perk. I would recommend the place and would stay again.

Love the Plunge Beach resort for the friendly staff, Beach location including chairs and umbrellas. Fort Lauderdale by-the Sea is safe and the resort is walking distance to restaurants, pubs,and bars.

Everyone at the hotel was very personable and wanted to help you. They had a very nice pool also beach bar. Had good food and wonderful waiters. They had a young girl who got you drinks or whatever you want it down at the beach, comfortable chairs and umbrellas. The breakfast was very nice. Can’t wait to go again next year.

I loved the location of this hotel as it’s walkable to a grocery store and many restaurants. the staff are amazing! It is a dog friendly hotel however that has its downs for those who hear them from another room. Second time there and feel like I was given the worse room in the place. Second floor and I asked for highest floor, over the front of the building - Main Street so traffic noises and at the elevator! Also joint room - one could hear the neighbours speaking! The coffee shop is understaffed in the morning! Long lineups. The pool, pool bar, and beach are great.

The resort was pretty nice, the rooms were good, with a great view in the ocean view room. I wished the inside bar was open, the bar by the pool had great staffing, but the drinks were a little overpriced. The food however was really good. Had a great stay here.

Restaurant/bar was excellent. Enjoyed the delicious food and fabulous cocktails.

Wife and I had a great time at plunge. The beach was amazing, always lots of loungers out. Room was clean and comfortable, we got an ocean front room, well worth it! Downside was thier beach bar leaves somthing to be desired, expensive drinks that are mediocre at best. Kinda dirty and sticky, and they dont really service the beach, you have to go to the bar. We did walk to places we enjoyed more but would have been nice to have a better bar at our hotel. The downtown is a few blocks away so be prepared for that. Elevator also acts up frequently, we usually took the stairs. Every staff member was friendl, and there are alot of them.

Quiet, peaceful, laid back atmosphere, the beach always helps with that. Staff and property grounds are well maintained. Beach restaurant had great food and the view is amazing. The coffee shop could use an extra set of hands first thing in the morning, but the coffee and breakfast sandwiches were exceptional.

First time visiting LBTS. Our room was first floor, beach front and was walkable to all of the restaurants, bars and shops. Location, cleanliness, service of front desk staff, all excellent! The only bit of disappointment was Backflips, the onsite restaurant/bar. This has the potential to be a gold mine, but staffing is key. One day we ordered the bacon cheeseburger (a menu item) and we received a plain cheeseburger with nothing on it. Sent it back and then received another that did have all of the fixings….but no bacon. Fries were old and cold. Told server. All we got was and apology and the bill for $16. They also advertised happy hour from 9-10 pm. Arrived at 9pm and the bartender displayed an attitude like “”why would you come here so late?” Like we were interrupting her ability to close so she could go home. Don’t advertise a happy hour at that time if you don’t want customers! They missed out on a lot of our business for that week.

Wonderful stay at Plunge. The staff was great. The beach bar has amazing food, and the people who work there are great!
