Lovely inn, beautifully decorated, two friendly dogs, friendly staff, friendly locals (who didn't mind that we won the pub quiz), great breakfasts, well cooked dinners... My only quibble was that the mattress was too soft for my poor bad back (but would suit plenty of others).

Stayed for a business trip. Everyone was very friendly, ended up staying up too late drinking the local ale with the regulars. Food was amazing the rooms are comfortable and everything seems new. Will stay again.

Beautifully redesigned interior with fresh colours and period furniture. We loved all the details such as the books and real art work by local artists in the bedroom. Lovely bar and good breakfast with a great display of art on the theme of the Long Man. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location for visiting The Long Man and Lewes.

Amazingly welcoming pub/b&b! The owners were so kind and welcoming to us and our dog.. they even let her trot around the pub off lead! Would totally recommend a stay here. Lovely rooms, lovely people, lovely experience!

Charming village pub with tasteful, understated period decor throughout. Our room and the whole premises were clean, comfortable and well maintained. Staff were helpful and plenty of local information (books, guides etc.) was provided.The only disappointment was the food; what we ate was of good quality and well prepared but choice was limited, especially at breakfast.

Long Man Inn was a great find! We stayed after our visit to Glyndebourne and our room was perfect: spotless clean, comfortable, and quiet. The breakfast was fantastic, delicious and very filling. We’d love to stay again.

Lovely overnight stay at a pretty little place. My wife and I enjoyed a rare evening away without kids. Room was ready when we arrived, so we were able to check in a little early. Had a drink at the bar prior to taking bags up to the room - perk of staying above a pub! Staff were friendly when checking in. Room was very clean and comfortable, with a nice en suite and good facilities. Nice views of the south downs as well. If I have one criticism, it would be that the bed was small. But the room was advertised as having a double bed, so we knew about this in advance. Being 6ft3 it was a bit of a squish, but not the end of the world. We had lunch at the pub. Burger was from local butcher and locally sourced meat. Very tasty. Local beer as well. Was conveniently only 5 minutes or so walk to the Long Man of Wilmington, which we did in the afternoon. Recommend hiking up and around the Long Man for spectacular views. In the evening we went to Alfriston for dinner at a 14th Century pub. Very atmospheric. Only a 5 minute drive away. Cooked breakfast was included. Locally sourced produce again, and well cooked. Would recommend.

The Long Man Inn is a fantastic place to stay if you want to visit Seven Sisters and the Eastbourne coast. Great walks on the doorstep. The rooms have recently been refurbished and ours was very clean and comfortable. It's great to see reuasable soap dispensers and a thoughtful coffee/tea tray. We had an evening meal which was fantastic, as was the cooked breakfast. Relaxed and attentive service. Thank you

Lovely overnight stay at a pretty little place. My wife and I enjoyed a rare evening away without kids. Room was ready when we arrived, so we were able to check in a little early. Had a drink at the bar prior to taking bags up to the room - perk of staying above a pub! Staff were friendly when checking in. Room was very clean and comfortable, with a nice en suite and good facilities. Nice views of the south downs as well. If I have one criticism, it would be that the bed was small. But the room was advertised as having a double bed, so we knew about this in advance. Being 6ft3 it was a bit of a squish, but not the end of the world. We had lunch at the pub. Burger was from local butcher and locally sourced meat. Very tasty. Local beer as well. Was conveniently only 5 minutes or so walk to the Long Man of Wilmington, which we did in the afternoon. Recommend hiking up and around the Long Man for spectacular views. In the evening we went to Alfriston for dinner at a 14th Century pub. Very atmospheric. Only a 5 minute drive away. Cooked breakfast was included. Locally sourced produce again, and well cooked. Would recommend.

The rooms have recently been refurbished and ours was very clean and comfortable. It's great to see reuasable soap dispensers and a thoughtful coffee/tea tray. We used the pub as we were visiting family the next day & live in Devon. The room was nice, well fitted out & comfortable. The atmosphere was almost like staying at someone's house, very relaxed & cosy. The food was really good, I recommend the blue cheese burger! Breakfast was excellent although I'd have like an option of cereal & orange juice in addition to the menu options. Staff were excellent & very helpful, although top marks go to Guiness, the pup cockapoo, who is an absolute star!!! We'll definitely return when we next come up to Sussex.

Just a shame they didn’t offer cereals or yoghurts etc at breakfast for those who don’t like a cooked breakfast. I just ended up with toast which seemed a bit poor for the price of the room.

Charming village pub with tasteful, understated period decor throughout. Our room and the whole premises were clean, comfortable and well maintained. Staff were helpful and plenty of local information (books, guides etc.) was provided.The only disappointment was the food; what we ate was of good quality and well prepared but choice was limited, especially at breakfast.

A proper pub with rooms. Friendly staff and a clean comfortable room made for a lovely stay after walking the South Downs way from Eastbourne. Evening meal was very nice and breakfast was fantastic. Would definitely recommend.

Pub staff on arrival friendly and talkative. Room was pleasant with a very nice bath, shower and toilet . Broken blind but a note to say was being fixed… fair explanation. Good breakfast , but ask for your fruit juice☺️ Nice location and good for visiting nearby locations. De-luxe room….. not sure what constitutes ‘de-luxe for the extra money but hey—ho.. bedding nice and clean, although wasnt tidied for our second night ? Over all an enjoyable few days

Our room and ensuite were clean and bright. The breakfast was excellent and the evening meal we had was very tasty and well prepared. The location was just below the South Downs and in a beautiful little village just a short walk to the Wilmington Giant.
