No one who is physically challenged or a solo traveller should stay at this hotel. The reception closes at 9 pm with staff then no longer in the building including no security. The internal premises are left in the dark with low visibility. The entry door to be used after 9 pm is very difficult to open. I tried for 15 minutes on my first night of staying. Finally got assistance to open door from a woman walking her dog. She tried opening the door for 5 minutes before being successful. This was definitely a security issue for me and I felt very unsafe. I am mobility challenged so faced stairs to climb. The restaurant was also not open for dinner for me entire stay. I will never stay again at this hotel. I have been frequently visiting Gouda since 1993.

This place was incredible. The history, the renovations, the quality, the service, the food, everything was amazing. We will definitely stay here again. Parking provided by hotel was excellent, there was a turn down service that was super cute. Great walking to the square.

This is such a pretty hotel. The online pictures do not do it justice. I have no negatives. It was perfect. The bed was great, the staff was super, the location was close to restaurants and boutiques. I bought a day ticket for America Parking lot and was able to stay overnight. It’s a very pretty hotel in a beautiful area. Breakfast was great. Below are pictures of room #2 - it was an attic room. Very cozy.

This charming, small hotel was located close to the beautiful center of Gouda, and featured a Michelin star restaurant, which was outstanding. The rooms are modern, with unique features and decor. The staff was extremely helpful with all of our questions, friendly, and kind. I highly recommend this unique hotel.

My room had a very steep open tread staircase up to the bedroom. All sorts of people would not have found it suitable. I was there on a Monday. The bar and restaurant was closed. I would not have booked if i'd known.

Super trevlig personal. Väldigt fint stort rum, hela hotellet luktade gott. Vacker innergård. Väldigt centralt, nära till stora torget och restauranger. Bra parkering precis vid hotellet, men dyrt. Lite hård säng för min smak.

Such a beautiful quaint hotel. Staff were so helpful. We rented free bikes to explore the city. Beautiful large outdoor area to have lunch/ afternoon tea. Highly recommend. The Michelin star restaurant was also fabulous to experience. Our room was a standard double which had everything we needed.

It was a wonderful stay. The location is top. Right in the center of Gauda. We did not use the restaurant but it looked very nice. Parking was available in front of the hotel at 35 EUR or 500 m from the hotel at 25 EUR.

Das war von Beginn bis zum Ende eine hervorragende Wahl! Das Hotel ist sehr stilvoll eingerichtet, die Zimmer sind schön. Ich würde sagen, dieses Zimmer gehört zu den saubersten Zimmern, die ich auf meinem Reisen erlebt habe. Und das ist wirklich nicht übertrieben. Die Damen an der Rezeption, Die Damen im Service, alle Angestellten, denen man auf dem Gang begegnet ist, waren fröhlich, höflich, hilfsbereit, sympathisch und authentisch freundlich. Die Lage des Hotels ist perfekt, um diese wunderschöne Stadt zu erkunden. Das war ein ruhiges, abwechslungsreiches, schönes, langes Wochenende!

To get to the elevator you need to walk through the dining room and the kitchen (literally through the kitchen) which was very odd. The hotel was very clean, the rooms very nice and cosy and the staff very friendly. The place is a bit spooky, especially if you consider that it is an old orphanage, but nothing to worry about

Excellent hotel! I love the decor and little details that made our stay comfortable. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed. We enjoyed breakfast buffet with made to order egg dishes. Very charming place. I highly recommend this hotel.

Close to everything. Superior rooms. The old “Weeshuis” is a beautiful building. Close to all of Gouda’s tourist attractions. Above all very quiet.

Excellent communication - we had issues with our flight & arrived a day late and the hotel was extremely helpful and reassuring of being able to check in late and what to do if after reception hours. Super hotrl with freat staff

Super fijn hotel: perfecte locatie heel centraal, gemakkelijk parkeren op 7 min lopen (Klein Amerika). Het hotel is heel chique, zorgvuldig, modern ingericht. Schoon, heel vriendelijk personeel, en in de kamer alles wat je nodig hebt. Goed bed, fijne douche, minibar etc. Het ontbijt is fantastisch. A la carte heerlijke kleine gerechtjes, en een klein buffet nog. Neem de tijd zodat je kunt gaan genieten van de gerechtjes!

Check-in was not entirely flawless. I’m an older man and even though the hotel had other rooms available, I was given a room decorated in pink - perfect for one of my grandchildren - and a steep set of stairs to a sleep loft. Obviously I asked for a different room. Food was truly great but the wait staff had a tendency to disappear for long periods.
