My Place Hotel Rapid City

Staff tried hard with problems I encountered. Locks did not work properly, both room and side entrance. There three days and wit never was fixed. Liked I could have dogs there as I was there for a dog show. Would like a breakfast provided.

I thought the rooms were excellent. I rented two rooms, one for my wife and me and one for my mother-in-law. They were exactly what we needed. What I was most impressed with was the full sized refrigerator with ice maker. No trips down the hall to the ice machine. My only complaint is we stayed six days and did not see housekeeping in my room. They came to my mother-in-law's room but not mine. Otherwise it was a great stay. Front staff was great, facility was great, overall stay was great. We will look for My Place when we travel again.

Positives: the room was quiet and clean and the beds were comfortable. Also parking spaces were plentiful. Negatives: the hallways were dirty (e.g. a pizza box sat in the hall for days and the "cleaning" staff did nothing) and the internet/TV would not work (I had to become an expert on their system and every day I had to reboot the connection box. Staff told me the equipment was cheap. Pray you don't get a room with a white box if using the TV/internet is of any importance to you.)

Business trip and really liked this newer hotel for the price. It had a work desk/chair, a kitchenette with full refrigerator/freezer, recliner, nice bathroom, and comfortable beds. Spacious room.

Like the location , fire table and grill were nice. Microwave did not work , ice maker did not work and no other ice was available , and the ironing board was also broke.

It was very noisy. The rear entrance door closer was broken the entire week of my stay and it slammed shut unless people closed it carefully. Most folks were probably careful but the other dozen each night kept waking me up.

Loved the ice machine in the room.

We arrived at the hotel around 7PM after a long day on the road, checked in and hauled all of our bags to our 2nd floor room only to find 2 people frantically cleaning it. They asked us to give them 20 minutes because that room "wasnt planning on being used" (even though we booked and paid months ahead of time so they knew we were coming) so we hauled all of our stuff back downstairs and to the car to wait. Just walking down the hall on the 2nd floor we were overwhelmed by the smell of urine or something awful the entire floor. When we finally got to our room, the smell inside was unbearable, the same urine smell that was on the entire floor. We pulled back the blanket on the bed and the sheets had yellow stains all over them, after the room having just been "cleaned". The bed wasnt even really made, it was like the used bedding was thrown back on and not even tucked in. The bathroom smelled like mold to the point we couldnt even stand to be in it, even though there was no visable mold. My husband went to the front desk to see if we could get any of our money back if we left right away (we were staying 3 days!) and was then told that they were very sorry about the smell, they were aware and had a carpet cleaner coming ...and gave us a room on the 3rd floor. So, the entire time there was a perfectly fine room ready and available, but we were made to wait 20 mins for a room to be "cleaned" on a floor they knew smelled unbearably like urine. Disgusting experience.

Our bathroom was dirty. The shower curtain was rusted and dirty. The room had a bad odor and the carpet was dirty.

The staff are absolutely fantastic at this hotel. It’s beautifully clean very comfortable.

When we finally went to bed around 11pm because of a family emergency one of our beds had long black hair in it and the other bed had crumbs and dirt in it. So we had to pack everything back up and switch rooms. Then the new room had a dirty bathtub and the curtain was broke. The place was fairly cheap and now I know why. Also the kitchenette was not furnished and didn't find out until we checked in. Thankfully we brought some stuff. Don't know if I would stay here.

Friendly staff and my room was immaculately clean.

Wifi was good & staff were friendly. BUT, the room itself was clean but before bed I pulled down the covers and found sheets with yellow, brown and black stains on them. I called the desk and asked for all new bedding. This is at almost 10 PM on 9/9. This was brought to the room by the front desk male on duty. What he brought was also dirty. I was so freaked out I only got a photo of the stain on the new "clean" bedding. See below. At that point we gave up and used the other bed. However, we feel the room should have been refunded, and it was not. I would not recommend this particular hotel in SD to anyone.

Place was quiet and affordable. Room cleaning behind the trash cans and tv stand was lacking.

Not sure the room had been cleaned. Smelled like someone else. Not a good thing. No soap,shampoo, or conditioner. Faucet in the bathroom needs repair. Hardly enough water comes out to brush your teeth. Carpet in the room was filthy.

TV didn't work and the shower curtain was too short so bathroom floor got really wet while showering. But, it was clean and the bed was comfortable!

Door would not lock on deadbolt. Refrigerator made a lot of noise, ran all the time and froze our waters. Really quiet. Good location. Nice layout in room. Highly recommend.

Easy access off the interstate. Next to a great gas convenience store and walkable to a unique restaurant.

Clean and comfortable. Walls paper thin and can hear others walking above you. I booked thru Expedia and when I had a problem with the billing I looked for the hotels phone number on their website and see I paid $60 more per room than their advertised price! When I asked them about it they denied the price I was looking at that moment on their website! Then she just said “well YOU booked it” and offered no price adjustment. Very POOR customer service!

Place is convenient, room is spacious. I like it has a small kitchen and a full size refrigerator in room. My problem is the bed is too soft, it makes noises when you turned every time during the night.

Room itself was good, some night bulbs burnt out and electrical receptacles completely worn out (charger plug fell out onto floor). Main complaint is noise transmission from floor above. We were in room 224, and the person/persons in the room above constantly jumped up and down and plodded heavily in work boots. We didn’t get much sleep. Unfortunately we are scheduled to stay there for two weeks in late September and that may be a big mistake.

Very clean, spacious room.

Room was clean and well prepared for my arrival. Staff was friendly. Rooms and hotel could use some updating, but that did not detract from my stay. They do not have consistent wi-fi. No secured service, only open service (anyone within range can use it). Staff was not very helpful with that issue. The other was an unpleasant smell upon entering the room. I suspect it was from some kind of disinfectant. I simply left the bathroom fan on for two days, and that took care of it.

Everything about the hotel was top notch except for the comfort level of the beds. I liked everything else about the room and experience but I didn’t wake up feeling well rested because I was tired and I had no energy. The beds were so hard and I sleep on my side which was so hard on my shoulders.

Professional and courteous

Had to wait 40 minutes for the front desk employee to show up. This was after multiple phone calls from is as well as a helpful maintenance employee. During this time another guest just left. When they finally got there they were rude, tossed the keys at my husband and was confrontational. We will not be staying here again.

The clerk, Patrick was awesome and very welcoming. I really liked the room and the amenities are great if you like to make your own food. But great check in experience.

We reserved a room with 2 beds on August 5th. When we arrived on the 22nd we were told that they had just received the reservation from Expedia that day & they only had rooms with one bed. It was obvious the hotel was not fully booked. Doesn’t sound legit.

It was hard to find...I called the property and person working couldn't tell me what exit or the address...driving around when you're tired is not fun!

I got a call at 7pm as I was approaching the hotel telling me they were overbooked and therefore canceling my reservation. No options or help was given, just told that I needed to contact the third party for my refund and to find somewhere else to stay.

Great stay, very friendly and helpful staff

Room was decent for the price. They stated that housekeeping would be by every 3 days, which is barely acceptable. We checked in Saturday, expecting at least basic garbage and towels by Monday, but nothing. Wednesday we requested towels and coffee, and that is all they did - dropped off towels and cofee, did not take dirty towels, garbage, sheets, nothing whatsoever. Customer service was deplorable

While we were checking in a guy came up and said they gave him a room that had someone in it. Next morning they did the same thing to us. Got woke up by someone trying to come in the room. Then desk called me to come up there because they couldn’t find my reservation. Took them few minutes to find that somehow it had been canceled after I checked in. Went to go back to room and they had deactivated my card. Needless to say I will not ever stay there again. I don’t recommend it unless you want someone to try to get into your room.

Love My Place hotels and this location is no different. It was a perfect stop over as I was driving across country. If I had anything negative to say about it, it would be the proximity from the hotel to downtown. It’s not a terrible drive but it’s not very convenient either.

Hotel was surprisingly quiet as it backs up to the highway. Room was clean and a good size.

Right off the highway; convenient to airport; gas station; gas station convenience shop (snacks, etc.). Ordered a pizza - super easy stay before flight home. Room was clean; bed comfortable; price an absolute plus. Happy travels.

Our stay was fine. The room was spacious and clean. There was a bulletin board that informed of breakfast in bed, but no continental breakfast 😕

Room was very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only issue for me was the lack of breakfast. I could order a breakfast bag if I chose. Was not explained either on website or at check-in

This hotel was very nice. The staff was friendly and very helpful. It had the best breakfast options of my whole trip across country. Very clean, and I especially liked that it had a full size refridgerator, and 2 burner stove top.

Arrived at the hotel room after driving for 5 hours the room was not ready around 5:00 pm. We were told can you come back in about 45 minutes to an hour cause they are still cleaning. Within a few a minutes they called me and said its ready. They don't have any breakfast, no ice maker, internet does not work, tried several times did not work. No breakfast advertising breakfast in room service not available , no wifi, no ice machine, hallway stunk of smoke, sign states this a smoke free place, no smoking within 25 feet of the place, no pool,

Restaurants only a short drive away.
