Honest review…….,The hotel itself is very good and the staff are excellent. The views are lovely. The breakfasts are superb with a huge variety. You can also use the hotel next door (Falesia Blue Ocean) which has recently been refurbed and looks fantastic. The hotel has very close beach access via external steps down which take you right to the beach. However if you have mobility issues then this can be problematic as there is no lift. The design of the steps has been sympathetically designed with benches here and there for people to take a breather. The spa is not really a spa in my opinion. They do have treatment rooms but the spa itself is a very small outdated, rather stale smelling room with a small indoor pool and jacuzzi. There is a separate steam room and sauna you can pay to use but we didn’t bother as they looked so old and in need of some TLC. The food at this hotel is excellent, in particular the a la carte restaurant. A little pricey if you aren’t on a board basis. Lovely quality though. Again drinks are pricey but so are most hotels these days. The entertainment was rather poor but maybe that’s just the time of year. Other than that, it really was a lovely holiday and if we did return we would want to be on the 5th floor again with views of the pool and ocean. The view really is stunning.

Splendid view from the hotel grounds and pool. You can see the beach and the cliffs. Extremely beautiful sunrise and sunsets. We did not try the food at the hotel because we walked to the restaurants in town. There is plenty of free parking around the hotel but inside the gated area is limited. The hotel is a 12 minute drive from the center of Albufeira if you want more dining and club options.

Loved the hotel, particularly the grounds & the air of freedom & wildness of the beach. Staff were great, never pushy, always friendly & the cleaning staff worked particularly hard. Really enjoyed the Pilates Classes with Nicola. (The other class leaders were good but really need more training in the basics of protecting the spine, engaging more with the participants etc) I loved the indoor pools & spa. Our room was not one of the newly renovated ones but we hadn't paid top $ & tailored our expectations accordingly.

Overall stay was lovely, as were all the staff from reception to cleaners throughout our stay! The property was beautiful with amazing views of the sea from our room as well as the pool, lounging areas and on-site Italian restaurant & the beach linked to the hotel via the staircase was lush! It was very quiet and peaceful throughout our stay also in both our room & at the poolside. Only kicker was the spa facilities were virtually fully booked out for pretty much the whole week even we went to book on the day of our arrival for later in our stay. Pool was also a bit chilly (though very refreshing in the strong heats), but speaking with friends and family staying at other hotels, this is a common theme at most hotels in the region.

Besökte hotellet över nyår 2024/25 med familj, sol och runt 18 grader hela veckan, varmt ligga i solen vid poolen men ej uppvärmd utomhus pool, finns liten varm inomhus pool. Bra mat i restaurangerna. Underhållning varje kväll, nyårsfirande fans också på hotellet. Man kan promenera längst stranden. Inte mycket aktiviteter i stan på vintern.

If your after a quiet relaxing stay , its not bad with relatively good facilties. The rooms are better than average but we did have a few ants running around the bed which is not good. Unfortunetely there is very limited places to eat locally. We felt 29 euros per buffet evening meal per person at the hotel a little too expensive, had it been slightly cheaper we would of eaten at hotel a few evenings. The complex is situated between vilamora and albufiera , where all the trips and restaurants are situated. Its best to book an uber taxi to these places as buses are limited service. We enjoyed our stay, used gym, sauna , pool and pool area daily so no complaints but this hotel is more for the 45 to 75 year old range . It is a very quiet relaxed hotel.

PortoBay Falésia was absolutely amazing. We – two adults and three teenagers- stayed there for six nights, and we loved every minute of our stay. The location is fantastic; overlooking the ocean, close to a magnificent beach ( just a few minutes’ walk), and the hotel and the seating areas are elegantly integrated in the landscape. Very friendly staff and overall, a classy hotel with great facilities (e.g. a large pool, well maintained tennis courts, padel court and a superbly equipped fitness room) . We’ve already started talking about when we can come back….

Overall we had a positive experience. The hotel is dated and needs updating (which is apparently happening this fall). The rooms are all carpeted which is notoriously difficult to clean. That being said, the beds were comfortable. Everything is spotless, they are always cleaning and house keeping was excellent. The breakfast was great, nice to have it included. Waitstaff is almost too attentive, constantly coming by to clear your plates. We had the dinner buffet two nights and I was not impressed. Options were limited and I felt there were better options outside the resort. Granted walking to local restaurants isn’t ideal for those with mobility issues (hills, uneven terrain), but the food was great and reasonably priced. The bjggest letdown about Portugal as a whole? The beaches are amazing but the water is absolutely freezing! I am not exaggerating when I say it can’t be above 60 degrees. Sadly we couldn’t even enjoy the water because it was unbearable.

A nice hotel but the majority of other guests were German so it’s not an easy place to socialise due to language barrier. The staff were mixed. Some were superbly helpful but many were rude and cold. The food is good but drinks are outrageously expensive at more than double prices from local bars. The place is a little dated and tired. Pool not always clean and activities are expensive too. Adequate but not a 4/5* venue

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. The staff were very considerate and friendly. The only quibbles we had were that the room cleaning could be more thorough - while the room was hoovered and towels and sheets changed as requested, used cups and glasses were left uncollected for example. The decor could be updated in some places and it would be good if more than one bar was open during the day time

An older property that is well maintained with beautiful views and access to the sea. Delicious large buffet breakfast. The only dining option for dinner is the buffet and one a la carte Italian. Room service was good. Carpet in our room needed deep cleaning however the hotel provided spa slippers. Loved our stay.

Pros: - hotel location, walkable to restaurants and shops. Around 10/15mins drive from the old town. - access to the beach (you do have to pay €10 to rent a sun bed) - breakfast was great with loads of veg and gluten free options. Cons: - rooms are quite dated, if you can afford to upgrade to a larger room they usually have the renovated showers. - bed was awful on our back! We did complain as the mattress was really worn down but nothing was done. - shower head was leaking through to the floor.

Porto bay is truly beautiful! We decided to upgrade to a sea view room on the first day to enjoy the hotel even more. Only complaint I would have is entertainment is very allowed until quite late when you have a sea view room. I also had an upset stomach after breakfast one day and as we were only there a short while this wasn’t ideal.

Porto Bay Falesia is a beautiful property is a great location for accessing various areas of The Algarve. Our stay involved only one issue (Rm 296) with a leak from the A/C which was a fall risk concern. Maintenance staff quickly assessed and left, and we were offered another room but it was 8 pm and weren't prepared to relocate at that time. The carpet was dry the next day but didn't allow us to turn on the A/C. Otherwise, the stay was perfect!

Check in was smooth and everything was nice enough but just under our expectations. We travelled with our 4 month old, so had to rely on room service which had a very limited menu. We had asked for to change our room to a sea view, when I asked if they had any available, the concierge clearly lied and said they were fully booked, and then said their not sure how many are checking out tomorrow, anyway after persisting and speaking to the manager, we were finally given a room and there were clearly many rooms available. Honest review…….,The hotel itself is very good and the staff are excellent. The views are lovely. The breakfasts are superb with a huge variety. You can also use the hotel next door (Falesia Blue Ocean) which has recently been refurbed and looks fantastic. The hotel has very close beach access via external steps down which take you right to the beach. However if you have mobility issues then this can be problematic as there is no lift. The design of the steps has been sympathetically designed with benches here and there for people to take a breather. The spa is not really a spa in my opinion. They do have treatment rooms but the spa itself is a very small outdated, rather stale smelling room with a small indoor pool and jacuzzi. There is a separate steam room and sauna you can pay to use but we didn’t bother as they looked so old and in need of some TLC. The food at this hotel is excellent, in particular the a la carte restaurant. A little pricey if you aren’t on a board basis. Lovely quality though. Again drinks are pricey but so are most hotels these days. The entertainment was rather poor but maybe that’s just the time of year. Other than that, it really was a lovely holiday and if we did return we would want to be on the 5th floor again with views of the pool and ocean. The view really is stunning.

A nice hotel but the majority of other guests were German so it’s not an easy place to socialise due to language barrier. The staff were mixed. Some were superbly helpful but many were rude and cold. The food is good but drinks are outrageously expensive at more than double prices from local bars. The place is a little dated and tired. Pool not always clean and activities are expensive too. Adequate but not a 4/5* venue

The location was beautiful however not much to do if it's rainy. The hotel is old and has some wear and tear in the rooms. The beds are very comfortable. the staff and check out/in was extremely slow. We did not try the food at the hotel because we walked to the restaurants in town. There is plenty of free parking around the hotel but inside the gated area is limited. The hotel is a 12 minute drive from the center of Albufeira if you want more dining and club options.

We loved our stay at PortoBay Falesia. The walkable area, restaurants and shopping were just great. The breakfast buffet was amazing. The pool and Italian restaurant were fantastic. The walk to the beach was just perfect. There were quite a few stairs, but well worth it!

This hotel is amazing in every way. The location to the beach is stunning a short walk away and then into Olhos de Agua village five minutes away with a really good choice of restaurants. The location is peaceful. Hotel staff wonderful and we will return for a third year as will be hard to beat. So many golf courses around to choose from

Great location! Beautiful beach right down the steps. Loved the quiet atmosphere of the pool area. Many places to relax. We had a car, so drove to see the coast, from Sagres to Tavira. Stopped at many towns along the way. You must visit Praia do Rocha, Tavira, Sagres, Salema. Spent one day golfing at Sagados. From the course you can see the beach and boardwalk of Salgados. Porto Bay Hotel had lots of free parking, lovely breakfast and dinner at Basilico. We did not do the buffet dinner during our 6 night stay. Walked up the street a few times. Lots of places to eat.

An older property that is well maintained with beautiful views and access to the sea. Delicious large buffet breakfast. The only dining option for dinner is the buffet and one a la carte Italian. Room service was good. Carpet in our room needed deep cleaning however the hotel provided spa slippers. Loved our stay.

The location was perfect the view was absolutely stunning. The pool restaurant offered a great menu and the food was amazing. The hotel had a resort type vibe except for the buffet which was frantic at both dinner and breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel, however suggest that you stay away from the over priced, low value buffet at dinner. In fact, we had breakfast included and on our last day we opted to pay for a delicious breakfast and great coffee elsewhere. There are many better food options nearby. Enjoy!

Very clean, friendly staff. Breakfast is the best you can find in hotels like this. With 5 minutes walking, you can find shops, restaurants, hairdressers, mini markets and much more. The hotel stuff were exceptional and went out of their way to help us. Of particular note were their ability to cater for food allergies and explain their whole buffet with respect to allergens. The staff also arranged for non-dairy milk to be sent to the pool cafe so that we could enjoy a coffee there when other facilities were closed
