Hotel is in a good quiet location close to Carvoeiro and other beach attractions in the area. Easy parking and in good conditions althought some areas would need renovations. Pool is nice and kept clean. Superior room was recently renovated and of a good size with balcony/ side seaview. Restaurant is probably the area that would benefit of some improvements on quality and variety at breakfast and dinner.

O Hotel é agradável, boa envolvência, embora ventosa. O jantar buffet, tem boa qualidade, o quarto espaçoso e as camas confortáveis. A limpeza do quarto eficiente qb. o Staff disponível e simpático, embora com muitos juniores sem experiência... Foi uma estadia simpática, no entanto, não posso deixar de fazer alguns reparos, que no meu entender, colocam em causa a classificação de 4*... a) degraus por todo o lado, não existe qualquer rampa. Torna inviável o recurso a uma cadeira de rodas e dificulta muito a vida a quem utiliza carrinhos de bébé. Vê-se que estamos a falar de uma arquitetura antiga, mas poderia ter melhorias. b) os caixotes de lixo das piscinas, transbordavam ao fim do 3º dia, nunca foram esvaziados ao longo da estadia de 4 dias. c) grande quantidade de espreguiçadeiras, no entanto, a maior parte estavavam práticamente inutilizadas ou deficientes. Elásticos rebentados, telas completamente deformadas, quando nos sentamos, levamos com as costas da cadeira na cabeça. Existiam também umas cadeiras de baloiço, muito confortáveis, mas também em mau estado na maior parte dos casos. d) todas estas cadeiras/baloiços mesmo partidas e deitadas/viradas no chão mantêm-se nos sítios de origem sem serem recolhidas, muito desagradável... e) toldos das esplanadas e da piscina, os primeiros rasgados, os segundos, todos pigmentados com bolor... Enfim, penso que são tudo questões de fácil solução e até de pequeno investimento, mas é preciso que alguém se preocupe com elas.

While our room was clean, the common areas of the property were not as clean as expected. Some of the staff were not very friendly, although we did meet a few staff members who were friendly. Some of the pool loungers were in need of repair or replacing. We paid for an ocean view but had a view of a dirty rooftop before the actual ocean view. For the price we paid, we stayed in much nicer hotels for less while on our trip.

The main thing we did not like was the wall outside our room was covered in black bugs, that came into the room when you opened door. We mentioned that to management. When we came back to room we found a can of bug spray? Otherwise, pool area was great. Lovely view.

It was basic. Beds not too great, sheets thin and pillows not great. The pool is nice, the breakfast decent. It has free parking. No swimming beaches nearby, and the Benagil caves are now closed.

My family loved our stay. My room was big with a cute little porch with beatiful garden views and a nice bath. Breakfast was always excellent with a great selection of Portuguese pastries and cheese. We had breakfast on the outside tables with wonderful views of nature and surrounded by little cute birds. The swimming pools are so inviting and the indoor pool and the jacuzzi is wonderful for people who visited when the whether is still too cold for outside pool or beaches, like us. My only complaint about the indoor pool is that it closes too early, so we didn't have time to enjoy it as we were out sightseeing the Algarve, and about the lack of wall sockets in our room. And last but not least, we so loved the view of the Centeanes beach from the top of a cliff just in front of the hotel! We've got nice pictures of the landscape from there and went down the path on the cliff and had a drink on the bar by the beach (even my 70-year-old father-in-law was able to do that, but be careful! Go by the road if you're not up for an adventure!). Oh, I nearly forgot to say how we enjoyed sunbathing around the pool or the big garden close to the cliffs and the sangria from the bar(had me hooked on that). They also offer massages we couldn't have because they were fully booked already, so book early if you want it! Price was great for all we were offered. All the staff was very friendly. We went to Carvoeiro city centre by foot and it took us less than 20 minutes walking lazily.

We had a really enjoyable six-night stay Hotel Baia Cristal. The pool area was a good size and there were plenty of sun loungers to choose from. More moveable umbrellas may help for those who want to stay out of the sun in the afternoon! Our Superior Double room was of a very high standard and was overlooking the pool area, with a shaded balcony after 4pm. Breakfast was great and had plenty of choice to suit everyone in our party. It is a 20 minute downhill walk from the hotel to the centre and plenty of restaurants and bars. Taxi cost around 5 euros to come back up the hill. The only slight downside was the lack of staff in the bar/pool area and it did sometimes mean quite a wait to be served for lunch/drinks. The staff that were working were very helpful and friendly. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel and would certainly stay again.

Our suite had a nice view with awful sulphuric smell. They sent housekeeper to spread some disinfectant which masked didn’t eliminate the odor. They said sorry BUT didn’t offer to change rooms, a drink nothing. I am lifetime Marriot platinum guest attitude & service is important to us.

My family loved our stay. My room was big with a cute little porch with beatiful garden views and a nice bath. Breakfast was always excellent with a great selection of Portuguese pastries and cheese. We had breakfast on the outside tables with wonderful views of nature and surrounded by little cute birds. The swimming pools are so inviting and the indoor pool and the jacuzzi is wonderful for people who visited when the whether is still too cold for outside pool or beaches, like us. My only complaint about the indoor pool is that it closes too early, so we didn't have time to enjoy it as we were out sightseeing the Algarve, and about the lack of wall sockets in our room. And last but not least, we so loved the view of the Centeanes beach from the top of a cliff just in front of the hotel! We've got nice pictures of the landscape from there and went down the path on the cliff and had a drink on the bar by the beach (even my 70-year-old father-in-law was able to do that, but be careful! Go by the road if you're not up for an adventure!). Oh, I nearly forgot to say how we enjoyed sunbathing around the pool or the big garden close to the cliffs and the sangria from the bar(had me hooked on that). They also offer massages we couldn't have because they were fully booked already, so book early if you want it! Price was great for all we were offered. All the staff was very friendly. We went to Carvoeiro city centre by foot and it took us less than 20 minutes walking lazily.

We had a really enjoyable six-night stay Hotel Baia Cristal. The pool area was a good size and there were plenty of sun loungers to choose from. More moveable umbrellas may help for those who want to stay out of the sun in the afternoon! Our Superior Double room was of a very high standard and was overlooking the pool area, with a shaded balcony after 4pm. Breakfast was great and had plenty of choice to suit everyone in our party. It is a 20 minute downhill walk from the hotel to the centre and plenty of restaurants and bars. Taxi cost around 5 euros to come back up the hill. While our room was clean, the common areas of the property were not as clean as expected. Some of the staff were not very friendly, although we did meet a few staff members who were friendly. Some of the pool loungers were in need of repair or replacing. We paid for an ocean view but had a view of a dirty rooftop before the actual ocean view. For the price we paid, we stayed in much nicer hotels for less while on our trip.

Our suite had a nice view with awful sulphuric smell. They sent housekeeper to spread some disinfectant which masked didn’t eliminate the odor. They said sorry BUT didn’t offer to change rooms, a drink nothing. I am lifetime Marriot platinum guest attitude & service is important to us.

Excellent place to stay! It’s a quiet place away from the noise of the bigger cities. The cliffs are great for hiking and the beach down the road is great and an easy walk! The staff is wonderful and super accommodating!

O Hotel é agradável, boa envolvência, embora ventosa. O jantar buffet, tem boa qualidade, o quarto espaçoso e as camas confortáveis. A limpeza do quarto eficiente qb. o Staff disponível e simpático, embora com muitos juniores sem experiência... Foi uma estadia simpática, no entanto, não posso deixar de fazer alguns reparos, que no meu entender, colocam em causa a classificação de 4*... a) degraus por todo o lado, não existe qualquer rampa. Torna inviável o recurso a uma cadeira de rodas e dificulta muito a vida a quem utiliza carrinhos de bébé. Vê-se que estamos a falar de uma arquitetura antiga, mas poderia ter melhorias. b) os caixotes de lixo das piscinas, transbordavam ao fim do 3º dia, nunca foram esvaziados ao longo da estadia de 4 dias. c) grande quantidade de espreguiçadeiras, no entanto, a maior parte estavavam práticamente inutilizadas ou deficientes. Elásticos rebentados, telas completamente deformadas, quando nos sentamos, levamos com as costas da cadeira na cabeça. Existiam também umas cadeiras de baloiço, muito confortáveis, mas também em mau estado na maior parte dos casos. d) todas estas cadeiras/baloiços mesmo partidas e deitadas/viradas no chão mantêm-se nos sítios de origem sem serem recolhidas, muito desagradável... e) toldos das esplanadas e da piscina, os primeiros rasgados, os segundos, todos pigmentados com bolor... Enfim, penso que são tudo questões de fácil solução e até de pequeno investimento, mas é preciso que alguém se preocupe com elas.

My only complaint about the indoor pool is that it closes too early, so we didn't have time to enjoy it as we were out sightseeing the Algarve, and about the lack of wall sockets in our room. And last but not least, we so loved the view of the Centeanes beach from the top of a cliff just in front of the hotel! We've got nice pictures of the landscape from there and went down the path on the cliff and had a drink on the bar by the beach (even my 70-year-old father-in-law was able to do that, but be careful! Go by the road if you're not up for an adventure!). Oh, I nearly forgot to say how we enjoyed sunbathing around the pool or the big garden close to the cliffs and the sangria from the bar(had me hooked on that). They also offer massages we couldn't have because they were fully booked already, so book early if you want it! Price was great for all we were offered. All the staff was very friendly. We went to Carvoeiro city centre by foot and it took us less than 20 minutes walking lazily.

We had a really enjoyable six-night stay Hotel Baia Cristal. The pool area was a good size and there were plenty of sun loungers to choose from. More moveable umbrellas may help for those who want to stay out of the sun in the afternoon! Our Superior Double room was of a very high standard and was overlooking the pool area, with a shaded balcony after 4pm. Breakfast was great and had plenty of choice to suit everyone in our party. It is a 20 minute downhill walk from the hotel to the centre and plenty of restaurants and bars. Taxi cost around 5 euros to come back up the hill. The only slight downside was the lack of staff in the bar/pool area and it did sometimes mean quite a wait to be served for lunch/drinks. The staff that were working were very helpful and friendly. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel and would certainly stay again.
