The front desk team were really good. Was super happy with the garden room. It was a nice small property and you can can get some access benefits at sister properties.

Alaya was perfect for our short getaway. The room we had was an ocean front, second level, full view and it was absolutely perfect. One of the best rooms I’ve ever stayed in, and I do consider myself well travelled. We really needed the break and so the sound of the waves, the sun warming you and waking you in the morning, it felt like heaven. The hotel was the perfect size for us- small and right up close to the beach. We enjoyed the free yoga in the morning and the teacher was great. She went through it very slow since we’re beginners. The drinks were fab, food delicious, staff was very nice and attentive. Ronnie was super kind, him and Henry made it a good time on the beach with wonderful service and cocktails. Stefan at the front desk was very thorough with information, he cared and wanted to make it a wonderful stay for us. Chakra session with Georgina was life changing! Seriously, if you’re ready, don’t miss out! The Mayan Clay massage was wonderful and relaxing. Loved Alaya! We don’t get to take adult only trips often but we would love to say we’ll be back in the future! Thank you Alaya team

Alaya is a beautiful beach hotel and we had a very relaxing stay in a treehouse. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is excellent, both on the property and outside (a number of great dining options in the vicinity). We rented bicycles a few times too. The beach area itself isn’t vast and has rather few shading options. What was very important for is is that the hotel is pet friendly. We loved our stay and look forward to visiting again.

We had an amazing 2 day stay at Alaya. Front desk staff were so helpful. Daily yoga at 9am was an excellent offering that even my 5 year old son was welcomed. Parking was super convenient and the location of Alaya in my opinion was fantastic. Perfectly walkable to surrounding restaurants and the overall property had an amazing atmosphere. Celebrated our 9 year wedding anniversary which Alaya staff made even more special. I cannot say more other than I highly recommend.

It was a very relaxing stay. Waking up everyday to a beautiful breakfast and doing yoga at 9am was so rejuvenating. The location is very good and easy to walk to restaurants and entertainment. There’s a pharmacy right across the street if you forget anything. The parking lot is also across the street so you can safely park and start vacationing.

We absolutely loved it here! It’s beachfront, & the beach & sun lounges were amazing. You can order food & drinks from the beach - there are servers there. The breakfast was very good. We had the family room with 2 twin beds & the main bed is definitely a full size bed & not the advertised queen. The aircon worked really well. It did take the shower a little while to heat up tho’. They provide robes, but no slippers. The whole property is very rustic as you can see. It was a great stay. I do think it can use a smidge of a refurbishment tho - really just the bathroom sink & shower, but yes, we would stay again.

This is a boutique hotel, quaint and friendly. The staff is accommodating to your every need. The hotel is in walking distance of several amazing restaurants and shops. There is a great outdoor local bar right across the street with local food vendors and ice cream. I would recommend upgrading to an ocean view room if you can. Also visit the property’s other hotels, they are in walking distance and offer great food, pools, and views.

We loved the location, close to shopping and dining. The daily yoga was amazing! Great beach front beds and lounger, no reservations necessary with plenty for hotel guests. Not to mention the room and views were stunning

Alaya was so peaceful and wonderful. What better be to stay than on the beach. Food was great. Breakfast lunch and dinner options right on the property. Free pool access to Alquimia which was next door.

It was even better than the pictures! Such a well maintained stunning property, loved being on the top level with garden view was lovely and if you walked around the balcony you could see partial ocean view. The staff were super attentive and remembered you and were there to help with a smile. The restaurant food was lovely, and right across the street we had options of poke, açaí, tacos and a bar. Loved being able to visit the sister property Ahau (10 min walk) which is a larger hotel, the food is more diverse there but more expensive obvi. I think Alaya is more family appropriate and recommend Ahau for adults. Both have a clean white sand beachfront. Will def visit these properties again. We took our two yr old and we Loved loved our stay! Def recommend.

Nos dieron una habitación que no había agua , en el tercer piso , no subía el agua y había cucarachas y arañas no estaba bien fumigado , pedimos que nos cambiarán y no lo hicieron, preferencia a extranjeros , no hay tv el internet falla, el personal muy atento pero no resolvieron.

We loved Alaya Tulum. Between the lovely room, quick access to the beach, lovely, helpful staff, delicious meals.We are extremely happy that we chose this hotel. All the staff we encountered were very attentive. Our rooms were cleaned thoroughly and well daily. The concierge service was very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

We were a group of girls staying, felt like the people at reception were slightly intrusive. They kept an eye on our every move, which was a bit weird and made comments on what we had done in our room. The resort overall was nice and the beach was lovely, although there were heaps of seaweed they were not getting rid of.

The hotel was the highlight of our trip. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, the room was spotless, and it's within walking distance of many restaurants and shops. The complimentary drinks and breakfast were excellent. I highly recommend it; it has a family-friendly atmosphere and is very peaceful.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. It rained and our roof started leaking and rain water got all over the bathroom but besides that the hotel and service was very good.

The place itself was beautiful, but the beach was dirty and smelled terrible, so I couldn’t even use it. On top of that, the breakfast situation was a complete disappointment. I booked this hotel because it advertised breakfast included, yet when I asked, they only offered me coffee and said I had to pay for everything else. That’s misleading and unacceptable. Because of this, I refused to eat any meals at the hotel. The prices were ridiculously high for tourists. Even the taxis arranged by the hotel were outrageously expensive, clearly taking advantage of visitors. Yes, the location is nice, but I would never recommend this hotel. I wasted a lot of money in a very short time and left feeling completely frustrated. Definitely not worth it.

Fantastisk sted og service, men rommet jeg fikk var ikke verdt den høye prisen. Vendte mot veien og flere av vinduene hadde folie sånn at man ikke kunne se ut - ga litt følelsen av å være innestengt.

We stayed in an ocean villa. Beautiful view of the ocean from your room/bed, especially amazing to watch the sunrise! Hotel staff and kitchen were so nice and friendly. Made our vacation very special!

Service, in general, is outstanding, front desk, waiters and all staff are incredibly helpful and nice. I must say that the room I booked seemed way much nicer in the pictures than in reality. My room was next to the Yoga lounge and restaurant and noise started very early in the mornings, so we couldn't rest as planned.

Property is lovely. Air conditioning for me is not adequate. Room does not get cold enough to sleep in the mid-July heat of low to mid 90's - passable but not comfortable.

the area is very nice, right in the center of everything which is awesome however the room has very poor Air conditioner system, it didn't work that well in my room and they only turn on between 8pm to 8am, imagining how hot the weather is in Tulum....we also booked an ocean view room and our room view got blocked by a big tree, couldn't see any view which was very disappointed but when we requested to change the room, first they said they will check and tried their best however nothing was done, 2 nights later I checked back with them again, they said they will cut the tree, however, they only cut a few top branches, which still blocked our view... so reaqlly disappointing.

A good hotel with a beautiful beach. The staff are friendly. The food is excellent. The room we had was the apartment - would not recommend as super loud overlooking the street (lots of traffic / noise) and very dark (bit like a cave!).
A good hotel with a beautiful beach. The staff are friendly. The food is excellent. The room we had was the apartment - would not recommend as super loud overlooking the street (lots of traffic / noise) and very dark (bit like a cave!).

Alaya was perfect for our short getaway. The room we had was an ocean front, second level, full view and it was absolutely perfect. One of the best rooms I’ve ever stayed in, and I do consider myself well travelled. We really needed the break and so the sound of the waves, the sun warming you and waking you in the morning, it felt like heaven. The hotel was the perfect size for us- small and right up close to the beach. We enjoyed the free yoga in the morning and the teacher was great. She went through it very slow since we’re beginners. The drinks were fab, food delicious, staff was very nice and attentive. Ronnie was super kind, him and Henry made it a good time on the beach with wonderful service and cocktails. Stefan at the front desk was very thorough with information, he cared and wanted to make it a wonderful stay for us. Chakra session with Georgina was life changing! Seriously, if you’re ready, don’t miss out! The Mayan Clay massage was wonderful and relaxing. Loved Alaya! We don’t get to take adult only trips often but we would love to say we’ll be back in the future! Thank you Alaya team

The entire property is impeccably maintained, with attention to detail evident in every corner. Stefan helped us with reservations and the lady who assisted us at check-in were incredibly welcoming, making sure we felt at home right away with a special upgrade to an ocean front room and some champagne and strawberries. Their warmth and professionalism set the tone for the rest of our stay. Throughout our time at Alaya, the entire service staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Whether it was the delicious meals, the perfectly maintained rooms, coffee brought to us in the morning. Simply lovely. I’m sad writing this review as our week at Alaya has come to an end. It was a magical trip highlighted with the most beautiful hotel and the kindest most wonderful staff. Silvestre, Daniel, Mitsubishi, Stephan, Jonathan, Hugo, Macario and everyone else added to the magic! At the press of a button our every need was attended to with a smile and they made our trip so special. We travel frequently and love exploring new destinations but we already agreed we will be back next year. The beach, the room and the location all could not have been any better. We dined at Michelin rated restaurants as well as food trucks, all walking distance and it was all amazing! Thank you to the lovely staff and we will see you again next year.

The staff was beyond exceptional! Not only was the room excellent but they were quick with any minor fixes we needed. They also helped surprise me for my birthday. Cannot say enough great things about them! The beach was also well maintained and the food/drinks were great.

As soon as we checked in we were greeted with mosquitos! Don’t go here if you don’t want to get eaten alive! We initially booked the apartment suite because we wanted more room. We were told that Expedia “upgraded” us but the room they “upgraded” us to was smaller and most of the outlets in the room didn’t work. We wanted a refrigerator brought up for water and it started leaking into the floor. We were also told that breakfast was included in the “upgrade” but after receiving the breakfast we were given a bill and told that it wasn’t included. That was the final straw for us so we checked out and asked for our money back in which we were told we could not be refunded. After Expedia tried to contact them several times about the matter they never responded and I never got my money back. Tulum is dead and not a lot going on so I would steer clear of Tulum and this property unless you want to party with the mosquitoes.

The hotel was the highlight of our trip. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, the room was spotless, and it's within walking distance of many restaurants and shops. The complimentary drinks and breakfast were excellent. I highly recommend it; it has a family-friendly atmosphere and is very peaceful.

I was extremely dissapointed in the way that the staff manage the loss of my headphones. Since it’s a five star resort, I’m expecting a five star service with every situation prestened. I left my headphones in my room the day that I checked out. I could see in find my iPhone that the headphones were at the resort, I let them know inemediatly, and for three days I provided the staff the location as I could see the headphones had left the hotel. The response from the staff was quite complaisant as I was told there was nothing that it could be done. This is not two star service not even one. Not only I will not be going back to your hotel, but I would be informing my friends to frequent your hotel to find another resort, since it’s not a safe place to be staying at.

Great cozy hotel right on the beach. Truly an amazing experience. The only downfall is since it’s on the beach you can only get to the hotel by taxi and it cost $30-$40 for every time you enter and leave the area to go into the city. And taxi drivers are always trying to maximize how much they charge. For that reason alone I will not stay in the beach area again. That was too frustrating. The first night I arrive the taxi drivers went on strike and there wasn’t any taxis available the second day I was in Tulum. I felt trapped. Be ready to spend a lot of money on their food as well. My friend and I would spend $60-$90 on breakfast alone at the hotel. I will say the food is super clean. They offer all healthy choices. They offer you one free healthy drink a day .i chose a shot of tumeric and ginger. Waking up on the beach was also breathtaking. The stars at night are amazing.

This place is really perfect. A great location within walking distance to the restaurants and shops but also quiet and laid back to relax at the absolutely gorgeous beach. The property is wonderful. It is a small place, it is surrounded by jungle plants, white sand and the turquoise sea is steps away. The small houses and spacious rooms are beautiful. One thing to keep in mind is that AC is off between 8:30am and 6:30pm. We are used to having AC on all day at our home but honestly we were not bothered by this limitation. I really don’t want to write this review so that too many people find out about this little gem. I would not hesitate to stay here again when in Tulum.

Alaya Tulum is the place to go. Private clean beach, nice and friendly people and lots of fine dining restaurants in walking distance. The apartments are super clean and have everything you need. Was for sure not the last time for us - we love this place and the area.

The Alaya Tulum lived up to all of our expectations. Intimate, quiet, while still giving you that "resort" feeling. The service was perfect in every way. Gaby was especially wonderful, as was the main dining room manager during our stay. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful, we cannot say enough good things about them all. Access to the beach is immediate, comfortable, and had everything we could have wanted. The care they take in keeping their grounds top notch is impressive, it is simply beautiful!!! The food from their dining room was top notch as far as my wife and I were concerned, and access to other great food vendors and a great bar (say hi to Salvador), were just steps away, with tons of choices, good music, and friendly people. The room we had was very nice. Large shower, decent sized bathroom, nice wardrobe and drawers, and the bedroom was good sized with a very comfortable mattress and pillows. With a very nice porch to relax on with beautiful views, that the staff delivered coffee and tea to every morning for a great start to our day. I could go on forever, but to finish, I really have no negative comments to offer. Enjoy!

I loved the vibe of this hotel, calm and relaxing which is opposite of the party vibe in tulum. The staff is incredibly helpful and kind. I did a yoga class that was fantastic with a wide open and breeze room. The chef was kind enough to prepare a simple meal for my husband who had a stomach bug. Gaby went out of her way to bring my breakfast out to the beach :) Tulum has really changed from our last trip 7 years ago and it feels super busy but this hotel makes you feel very relaxed! loved it

We absolutely loved it here! It’s beachfront, & the beach & sun lounges were amazing. You can order food & drinks from the beach - there are servers there. The breakfast was very good. We had the family room with 2 twin beds & the main bed is definitely a full size bed & not the advertised queen. The aircon worked really well. It did take the shower a little while to heat up tho’. They provide robes, but no slippers. The whole property is very rustic as you can see. It was a great stay. I do think it can use a smidge of a refurbishment tho - really just the bathroom sink & shower, but yes, we would stay again.

I booked this hotel because it advertised breakfast included, yet when I asked, they only offered me coffee and said I had to pay for everything else. That’s misleading and unacceptable. Because of this, I refused to eat any meals at the hotel. The prices were ridiculously high for tourists. Even the taxis arranged by the hotel were outrageously expensive, clearly taking advantage of visitors. Yes, the location is nice, but I would never recommend this hotel. I wasted a lot of money in a very short time and left feeling completely frustrated. Definitely not worth it.

Beautiful villas right on the beach. Perfect location with several restaurants/bars nearby. Great staff/service. Great breakfast and beach bar service. Very thankful to the staff for helping us find an emergency doctor and dentist after a fall. The floors are very slick so be careful if wet. Love Alaya. Love Tulum.

Alaya was so peaceful and wonderful. What better be to stay than on the beach. Food was great. Breakfast lunch and dinner options right on the property. Free pool access to Alquimia which was next door.

We celebrated our 25th anniversary with a seven day trip to Tulum. The Alaya was a great place to stay. The staff is courteous and friendly. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The location is quiet but within walking distance of amenities. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel.
