We were very impressed with the Lion Hotel in Criccieth. It is in a great position with plenty of parking. It is a traditional character hotel, clean, well maintained and decorated with lovely staff. It was also great value, would recommend as a base to explore the beautiful Llyn Peninsula.

Well located centre of Cricceth. Room was basic but fine. Staff were good and breakfast was very good. Disappointed on the Saturday that the bar didnt open till 5 when its advertised to open at 2. Overall a good hotel though a bit pricey for a 3 star

Good base for travelling around the area. Decent breakfast. Room not serviced each day as standard which we found strange. Would have been nice to use the beer garden in the evening but when we asked we were told it was closed even though a nice evening. People having to sit out side the front of the hotel by the road instead.

Nice pub/hotel in Criccieth. A small seaside town, just outside Porthmadog, but without the crowds. Good size car park and public transport, if you wish to have acar free day.

We had a lovely 2 night stay in the Lion Hotel. On the whole the hotel was nice and clean if a little tired. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The bar hours were limited to the evening but that wasn't a problem for us and we had a very nice pizza in the bar on our first night. The breakfast was great too. The only thing we didnt like was the size of the bed, it was a double and we are used to a King size!

Really?good stay and reqlly good value for money. The room was cleen and comfortable. It had everything we needed. Breakfast was good but not excellent. Our only criticism was the shower. The water pressure on the top floor was very poor. Took an age to get wet! Othet than that, we would be happy to stay again.

Room was very dusty. There were cobwebs in various places. The room could’ve done with a lick of paint and modernised. The staff were pleasant and the communal areas had some charm, but again, could do with a bit of touching up. I didn’t mind the hotel because it gave me nostalgia to a bygone era, but to somebody looking for a modern hotel, this is not for them.

I had booked a single room. The room was clean with all amenities. What let the room and the hotel down spectacuarly was the thinness of the wall and the noise coming from room 19 next door, with door banging and shouting atvall hours. But manager kindly moved me to a quieter room on the second night.

Apart from a minor issue with our spotlessly clean room which was dealt with politely and professionally everything was excellent and full value. The public rooms in the hotel would benefit from a little tlc. We ate a pleasant Sunday lunch and the breakfast was top quality. Certainly a good choice for a short break.

We had a lovely 2 night stay in the Lion Hotel. On the whole the hotel was nice and clean if a little tired. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The bar hours were limited to the evening but that wasn't a problem for us and we had a very nice pizza in the bar on our first night. The breakfast was great too. The only thing we didnt like was the size of the bed, it was a double and we are used to a King size!

Very dirty room. Website is misleading as the photos are nothing like the reality. Awful smell when you arrived. Had to go in a bar to check in with two young children. Reception was closed. Breakfast was terrible. Beds uncomfortable. Rooms were very hot. My husband never complains and even he thought it was terrible. Would not return sadly. The photos are just two of so many I could have taken but I couldn’t be bothered to be honest. It was just dirty

I really loved the quite night and the amazing sun rise from my room with the beach view and the hills. The breakfast is very good and tasty. I would like to just highlight to pay more attention to small details in regarding the cleaning., but overall a nice experience. Thank you.

Stayed at The Lion for 1 night. Friendly staff but seemed understaffed. No food available at night which wouldn't have mattered except there were very few alternatives. Room was clean and comfortable with a sea view but bathroom was designed for someone with a disability with doors round a wetroom type shower. Breakfast was buffet style with lots of choice but not very warm.

Manager on the desk went out of his way to make up for the fact that I 1. Missed breakfast on day 01 as I didn’t realise breakfast was included 2. I didn’t get much sleep on the first night due to a very noisy person above my room late at night & early in the morning. He straight away moved me to a better , bigger double room and got chef to do me a cooked breakfast to go and even. Packed lunch ! Would definitely stay again :)

We enjoyed the breakfast time, since the lady called Linsy made us feel at home. She is very warm and considerate. Before we arrived at the hotel their staff answered my phone call, but the 2nd day while we stayed there, nobody answered my phone call, though I called 3 times, which was a bit upset.

Just checked out after a 2 day stay, great location and good value for money. Staff are excellent friendly and helpful. 20 mins from morpha nefyn for golf so perfect if you want a good location and a good brekfast to start the day. Well done Lion Hotel, very happy

Lovely hotel within easy reach of all the sites in Snowdonia. Staff are excellent and the all you can eat breakfast is fantastic! Nice rooms and the hotel has a bar to get a well earned drink before bed time. Would recommend.

Hotel was clean and tidy with attentive staff however a very limited evening food menus only served between 18.00 & 19.30 and in that time they ran out of steak each night tip don't ordered daily make sure you have plenty of stock as you would make more profit on another note the Spice Rack Indian at bottom of the hill is great and had us for 3 nights due to lack of hotel food. however breakfast was amazing

Food options were very poor for me being allergic to eggs and anything hot-spicey. The evening meals we had on our 2 day stay were excellent, tasty and well cooked. Breakfast left a bit to be desired. Poor choice of cereals and very little choice for people who don't like the "full english" option. However our room was nice, spacious and comfortable bed.
