Stayed 3 nights

Travelers beware! We booked three nights at Sierra Blue Hotel in Big Bear. We had not hit water for two of our three days there. I reported it to the front desk on our first morning there. Matthew said he would convey to the manager who was not on property. We also spoke to James at the front desk and asked for compensation for having no hot water for two days. Finally, on our day of check-out did we have hot water to shower. We spoke to the manager, Louis when leaving and told him if the circumstances. He offered no compensation and said he would speak to the woman who owns the hotel who does not reside in town. The premises are of bad need of refurbishing. There are no phones or clicks in the room, no bathroom counter space, Kleenex, etc. Lighting is scarce in the room and cords are dangling from the walls and the microwave and mini fridge are plugged haphazardly from a power strip. The couch is very low and placed directly under the wall mounted television. The cleaning staff has a stereo set up in the hallway to the rooms and very loud music plays all day- you can hear it in the room with the door shut. The towels smell of incense and they do not offer housekeeping during your stay. The indoor pool is in bad need of cleaning and the outside patio area is in a back parking area. The hotel sits behind the local bowling alley and the trash pickup trucks arrive at 6:30am right outside your room. Do yourself a favor- run, don’t walk away from this place!

Stayed 1 night

This hotel automatically gets 5 stars because they have 2 resident kitties! It was also very dog friendly and accommodating. It is a really close walk to the village and the lake but also away from any crowds. The room was clean, bed was comfy, nice little decorative touches.

They charge for parking when there's no where to park. Hot tub is out of service. There is no spa (false advertisement) its a lady that comes in sometimes on Thursday and Sundays is what we were told. There are cats on site that makes the hallways smell. When i went to check in (i couldn't cancel) there was a big fat cat on the desk where i can't sign the paperwork because they wouldn't move the cat. The room had both air and heater on. No elevators. Wifi wouldn't work. There is not a nice lake view its a block away where yes u can see there's a lake over there. I didn't like how this was advertised and it was all upsetting. Paid too much for a motel 6 that was painted black.
