The low rating is due to the worst night sleep I've had in a long time. Most of this property's issues are beyond the control of management. But the walls are paper thin, the windows are very old and not double or triple glazed thus every single sound penetrates and you feel as though you're sleeping outside. There is a train that comes through regularly all night long with train whistles. There is a church bell that tolls on the hour (I heard it at 3am, 4am, 5am, 6am and 7am)! There are various sirens of ambulances and fire trucks, and heavy trucks like garbage trucks. It is just such a loud neighborhood and not sure what can be done because the house is historic. Two things would have improved the stay: blackout curtains (there are only flimsy horizontal blinds that do not darken the room whatsoever. Also, put a mirror in one of the bedrooms (we were in the 2 bed suite) so that one can do hair and makeup while the other is showering. I will say that the accommodation was spotless, it's got a nice vibe aesthetically, the water and snacks a nice touch and check in went smoothly. Communication was good as well. But, unfortunately, I can't give it a higher rating because it was just such a terrible sleep.
