Golden Pineapple Villas-Adults Only

Very special and private place. Our villa was nicely decorated and had a nice private pool with view of the ocean. The staff was outstanding. First night we ordered room service for dinner. The breakfasts and the dinner the following night we had in the central building with a great view of the whale tale. We appreciated the quiet and very private villa while having access to a large pool and the amenities of full stacked bar and restaurant. A nice touch was the welcome sign and the artfully sliced pineapple as a welcome gift. One word of caution. This place is only reachable with a 4WD. It is impossible to climb up the hill otherwise. We highly recommend this place and will be back some time in the future.

Wow. Just wow. First up - Leo was our host and was awesome. Great work Leo! All the staff was great. I'm tired of booking hotels that look good in the pictures then turn out to be disappointing. Golden Pineapple goes the other way. It's breathtaking. Everything here is top notch. I won't repeat everyone else, the rooms are amazing. Outdoor showers, tub and personal pool - brilliant. You can sit outside, (naked if you want!), in your own suite surrounded by jungle mountainside watching CR birds and animals around you. I was worried about the restaurant prices being too high. They are not - in my opinion they match most other table restaurants or even lower than most other 4-5 star hotel restaurants, in my experience. And the food is excellent - a little more rich than fresh, but still quite pleasing. This hotel is on a mountain and the road to access it is too. Don't be a hero. You're not getting up here with a 2wd car. If the rentals are all out of 4wd then you're paying for the taxi. This is the only downside of being here, the taxis are now charging $25 USD per trip from the nearby town. (Feb 2024). That adds up if you want to go out a lot. But honestly, book this hotel just to stay in the beautiful room and relax!

The villas were gorgeous, the property beautifully landscaped, and the view outstanding. The on-site restaurant was excellent and the staff wonderful. The owner, who lives on the property. Went above and beyond to help us. I just can’t say enough good things about this place.

We had total privacy, a wonderful plunge pool and a view across the trees and valley to the Pacific, sunsets and Uvitas whale's tail, a huge sand bar that appears and disappears with the tide. The food was very good, but not excellent. It is luxurious and everyone tries really, really hard to please guests. Toucans and other birds stopped by our patio, 10 feet away. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The drive there is a little steep at times, so just make sure to have a four wheel drive car to get there. The staff were all very friendly, had such great recommendations for getting around and navigating tourist areas of Costa Rica. They were helpful in me trying to practice Spanish and taught us some Spanish phrases used in Costa Rica and taught us about the Costa Rican culture. Very personable staff! Me and my husband were here on our honeymoon and it’s so hard to pick a place in Costa Rica because the options are endless- the Golden Pineapple is a true hidden gem with money very well spent. We had a private pool and bathtub which were both absolutely breathtaking. If you want a quiet, romantic get away and/or love being in nature I Highly highly recommend staying here! My husband and I came here on our honeymoon mid June. This place is wonderful. It feels so incredibly private and peaceful. In fact, we hardly even saw other guests while there. The villas are lovely and the views are phenomenal. The villas have a kitchen which is fully stocked (plates, silverware, pots, etc) as well as complimentary drinks inside the fridge each day. The outdoor shower and tub are great. The staff are lovely. They take the time to get to know you and your names. They are very kind. The food was great. If you haven’t figured it out from other reviews, you absolutely need to have a 4x4 vehicle to get here! I will admit the drive up was kinda scary sometimes, but it gets better after you do it a few times. There are pretty steep dirt roads to get here. And have good brakes on the car for the way down! A few tips: -bring bug spray, there are lots of insects everywhere. -bring earplugs if you need to sleep in quiet. The wildlife can be loud at night! -there are shades over the windows in your villa, but they don’t really block light. The sun rises very early and it gets very bright. Bring a sleep mask if that’s something you need! -we shopped at the BM Supermercado right in Uvita, it was very convenient. We saw toucans and other amazing birds right from the hotel. You truly are in the jungle here, it’s amazing! I would definitely recommend staying here. Out of all the exploring we did while in CR, Uvita was definitely the best place to be!

Housekeeping deserves a special shout-out… they were SO quick and efficient it felt like ninjas snuck in and made everything spotless. Huge thank you to Pablo, Marlon, Marlon 2.0, and Leo for taking such great care of us throughout our entire stay. The villas were extremely clean, private, and quiet — perfect for a honeymoon. We couldn’t recommend this place more!

I just got back from celebrating my birthday and the staff as well as the owner was very kind, very welcoming. They stayed up all night and giving us directions and leading us up the mountain until we got there and I truly appreciate that. And then on my birthday they made a cake and sing Happy Birthday it was very sweet. The cleaning staff does an amazing job keeping the rooms clean. Once we left and came back to our rooms it was spotless smelled amazing and they kept the pools clean as well. The chef did his thing every night and the food was very delicious. Thank you for showing me a great time while there. The views were fantastic.

We stayed 4 nights, 5 days at Golden Pineapple and wish we never had to leave. We felt right at home the whole time, from the minute Marlon picked us up from SJO. Marlon, Pablo, and Leo were seriously so sweet, friendly, and attentive the whole time. The property is beautiful and well maintained daily. If you choose to stay and relax the whole time you absolutely could with no complaints. They also help you accommodate any excursions or beach days if you like and will take you there for an extra cost. The food is delicious, you can choose to dine at their outdoor restaurant or room service. Everything we tried was amazing and the prices were fair. Gracias por todo! OMG the pictures don’t do it justice! Sooooo beautiful. The staff is SO accommodating. Very clean but remember you are in the middle of the jungle so there are bugs and insects. The food is delicious. You will absolutely need a 4x4 to get there. No complaints. Would def stay again

If I could give more stars, I would! I spent two weeks in Costa Rica & I chose to spend my second week at Golden Pineap & wow, this property is truly magical. I came here to rest, breathe and reconnect with myself after an intense week of deep inner work. As a business owner and a single mother of three, I live in a constant “go, go, go” lifestyle and this was the first time in a long time that I allowed myself to simply be. Golden Pineap was the perfect place for that. The views here are unbelievable; mountains, ocean, jungle, clouds rolling in, sunsets that look like paintings. Normally on vacation I feel like I need to explore and do a million things, but here I didn’t have to go anywhere. I could relax in my villa and feel completely content. The private pool, the outdoor bathtub, the rainfall shower, the peaceful design, everything felt intentional and soothing. It was exactly what my mind, body, and soul needed. And the staff; what can I even say? Every single person I encountered had the kindest energy and the warmest heart. Pablo, Mario, Leo; each of them went above and beyond, but Leo truly went the extra mile in every way. I felt supported, cared for, and safe, even traveling solo. If you’re considering a massage, please book with Liliana, her hands are absolutely magical. This was the perfect place to end my CR journey. It gave me rest, clarity, and a deep sense of peace that I haven’t felt in years. And the icing on the cake? Finding out this is a woman-owned!

Amazing beautiful room and views. Things missing that should be basic at any luxury hotel: no black out curtains so I was up at 5:50 every morning because of the bright sun (& no one wants to get up that early every day while on vacation). No luggage rack, no full length mirror, no tissues or Q-tips. No doormat in front of the room which meant we tracked mud into the room every day. No dimmers on the lights and no lamps so it’s a choice beteeen bright and complete darkness. I could go on but I think there enough.

The villas are fantastic and staff was so nice and offered great service. The view of birds and other wildlife was nice. One of the staff took us where we needed to go a stayed right with us which was great since the villas are rather remote. They store modern with private pools in each. I will definitely go back.

My fiancé and I enjoyed a relaxing week at this hotel. It's very close to town and they have great recommendations for activities around the area or a little outside the town of Uvita. The staff was absolutely fantastic! Paolo went out of his way to make our experience memorable and made us feel right at home. Definitely staying here on our next visit!

The stay was fantastic, the food was fresh and delicious. The view absolutely gorgeous. The privacy of our villa was the perfect experience. The service was on point. Definitely a highlight in our trip. The only negative I can say was the drive to the villas. The roads are unpaved for about 15min. Very bumpy and steep roads. Highly dont recommend arriving there at night. Other than that, it was amazing !

Amazing views!!! The staff was so helpful and nice. It was a little scary navigating up to the villa but manageable. Definitely rent a 4x4 vehicle. If you are looking for a peaceful vacation, this is the place for you. Pura vida!

This is the only downside of being here, the taxis are now charging $25 USD per trip from the nearby town. (Feb 2024). That adds up if you want to go out a lot. But honestly, book this hotel just to stay in the beautiful room and relax!

The villas were gorgeous, the property beautifully landscaped, and the view outstanding. The on-site restaurant was excellent and the staff wonderful. The owner, who lives on the property. Went above and beyond to help us. I just can’t say enough good things about this place.

We had total privacy, a wonderful plunge pool and a view across the trees and valley to the Pacific, sunsets and Uvitas whale's tail, a huge sand bar that appears and disappears with the tide. The food was very good, but not excellent. It is luxurious and everyone tries really, really hard to please guests. Toucans and other birds stopped by our patio, 10 feet away. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Absolutely stunning property! We had the 2 bedroom villa and enjoyed our stay immensely. The service here is fabulous...And the food is top notch. The owners and staff members know how to make their guests happy. This is a must stay in my opinion.

We stayed 4 nights, 5 days at Golden Pineapple and wish we never had to leave. We felt right at home the whole time, from the minute Marlon picked us up from SJO. Marlon, Pablo, and Leo were seriously so sweet, friendly, and attentive the whole time. The property is beautiful and well maintained daily. If you choose to stay and relax the whole time you absolutely could with no complaints. They also help you accommodate any excursions or beach days if you like and will take you there for an extra cost. The food is delicious, you can choose to dine at their outdoor restaurant or room service. Everything we tried was amazing and the prices were fair. Gracias por todo! The place was an absolute dream stunning views in every direction!! Highly recommend it for couples my wife me I loved every minute of it! Staff and restaurant were top notch all around excellent 10 stars!!

This was an amazing experience. The staff were responsive, professional, and friendly. The food was delicious and the included breakfast was exceptional. We have a perfect view of whale tale beach both from the common area and our private balcony. I highly recommend!

Completely enjoyable and relaxing. Service was attentive to all our needs and was so complete we just stayed instead of going out and exploring. Wonderful view overlooking the ocean and Marino Bellena park. Delightful owner. Despite being a small hotel, the restaurant delivered very good food for all the meals during our stay.

Beautiful room and view. Helpful owner and staff. The food was great too. I wish we had spent more time there.
