Los Lagos was a wonderful property! The grounds were well maintained, there were so many different hot spring pools- we loved trying all of them! Both restaurants were excellent! The property is huge, but shuttles were available.

Property was beautiful very quiet in rooms. Pools and hot springs were nice. Enjoyed dinner buffet and breakfast both were great. Only wish they had ice available. Our room did have a refrigerator though. The viewpoint was nice.

Stayed here for 6 days, rooms are spacious and nothing spectacular compared to a more modern style room but makes up for it with a balcony that faces the Volcano. There a several hot springs and one has a swim up bar that was fantastic. They also have a pool with a pretty lengthy fast slide, the breakfast here is top notch. Plenty of choices to choose from, the hotel also offers a view point, within the resort, that you can take a 5 minute drive that over sees the Volcano, amazing view!! It’s a short 10 minute drive to La Fortuna so for me it worked out perfectly as I didn’t have to worry about heavy traffic flow coming in and out of the resort. Staff helps with booking any activities you may be interested in booking. Overall I’d definitely stay here again 10/10

Beautiful resort , emerged into the lush jungle. Rich landscape everywhere you look. Ponds, lots of hot springs (different types and sizes, fun swim up bar), 2 pools with fast fun slides, wildlife (nature walk) and a trail up the mountain to a viewpoint of Volcano. The setting is just amazing. The breakfast was solid but didnt change much day to day. The wet bar pool menu was tasty, fresh and very affordable. We had dinner there once and it was okay. Nothing amazing. Service was good for all our meals especially at the pool bar. The room was basic but very clean. Nice balcony overlooking the beautiful landscaping. We saw lots of toucans around. Wish the room had more hooks or places to hang towels/swim clothes etc. the bathroom smelled a bit of sewage. However the staff did a great job cleaning the rooms daily. No bugs at all inside . Loved the proximity to the town and all the activities. Would definitely recommend

We loved all of the different pools and hot tubs. We loved trying all of the different temperatures. Having such a big selection of pools made them less crowded overall. The swim up bar was great. The overall location was gorgeous.

I was a little hesitant to stay here vs. the more expensive option at the Springs, but I’m glad we chose this one. The included breakfast was amazing every morning with choices for everyone including my picky 12 year old. The grounds are kept immaculate and they literally drain out the hot springs and pool overnight and refill it with fresh water by the morning. The only thing missing from this resort is a small gym. That would absolutely put this place on another level. Definitely recommend doing the horse back riding on site. It ended up being the hi light of our trip and only $65 pp for a two hour excursion all over the property and up to the viewing point of the arenal volcano. Would definitely recommend this resort, especially if traveling with teens as they had a blast on the waterside and pool.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The place was spotlessly clean and rooms are spacious. The views were absolutely stunning—definitely a highlight of the experience. Breakfast was great and they have a variety. The location was easy to find, and once I got there, I really appreciated how beautiful and peaceful everything was. It was the perfect spot to relax and unwind. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help they really made the stay even more enjoyable. Beautiful resort. The grounds were stunning. Our family really enjoyed the hot spring pools and the kids loved the cooler swimming pools with slides. The included breakfast was fantastic and the staff on the resort was super friendly and helpful. The room was super clean, although dated in appearance. This did not bother us at all as we were rarely in the room. The only negative I can think of is that there was no weather stripping on the bottom of the room door and at nighttime (everynight) there were massive ants that would come in under the front door. I took a towel each night and jammed it underneath the door to prevent this. The resort is quite large and there is a shuttle that runs to take you around. It was super easy and not even a nuissance. We loved the resort and would recommend to others and hope to come back again one day.

Beautiful grounds, mediocre hotel. Second time staying here and there’s been deterioration of the facility overall. Hotel cleanliness, views and breakfast was very good. The room we stayed in was huge but outdated and plugs didnt work, toilets didnt flush properly, very dim lighting and TVs are minicule and are not Smart tv so you can’t stream. The hot pool needs updating cement is worn, not inviting. They did issue a half night refund for the inconveniences . The staff was very nice.

The resort is trully amazing. So wast and beautifully kept grounds with some animals and numerous hot springs and pools with slides. Loved the hot tubs and jacuzzis. The food is reasonably priced and delicious. Breakfast was great. Tge views of the rain forest and the volcano and breathtaking. Staff is very helpful, proffesional and friendly. However, our first room had MOLD on walls and inside the AC. It was so old and outdated and literally smelled bad and was falling apart. The resort graceously agreed to change our room and the new one was updated, clean, and nice.

The hot springs were disgusting and dirty due too the large number of people. They sell very cheap day passes while they charge guest of the hotel an extremely high price to share the limited pools with people paying $30 for a day pass. Water was cloudy, probably from all the kids pee. Will never return here.

Clean room, great pools for kids and wonderful hot pools. Very cool only complaint would be the pol bar music was bad subwoofer just kills the music. Better music would be wonderful. The breakfast really great and the dinner food was good as well. I would stay again.

The grounds and property of the resort are magnificent. It's beautiful everywhere you look. The rooms are outdated and badly need renovation. We also had a few creepy crawler bugs--most of which we were not familiar with, get into the room. It wasn't surprising because there is gap all around the door to the room for them to enter. One of the walls in the bedroom was peeling from water damage and looks like it had been that way for quite some time. The pools are very nice, but there are not enough lounge chairs and can get very crowded and loud because there are a lot of families with children staying there. It's best to go early in the morning if you prefer a little quiet. The Spa is nice and the massage room, while cool with a fan, had doors open to a small private deck and the fresh air breeze coming in was lovely. The breakfast is ok, but it gets pretty old after seven days. It's pretty much the same every day with little variety throughout the week. However, it's a great location--easy to get into town with a car or Uber, and it's a very good value, which makes it possible for so many families to stay there. The best part of the stay was the wonderful staff. They were very responsive and attentive and did everything they could to ensure we enjoyed our stay. We weren't thrilled when we first arrived. But we were sad to leave when it came time to go.

Nice grounds and pools. Large rooms but somewhat stark. All tile floors. Smelled like cleaning products. Cabinets were rickety. Seems like built in the 70s and never upgraded. Could hear people easily in adjacent rooms and our neighbors below complained to us that we sounded like construction workers through their ceiling. Restaurant was reasonable with good food.

The hot springs were very pretty and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast every day at the large buffet in the main restaurant.

We stayed in the 200 building & it is such an old building the door doesn’t shut closed all the way! They seriously need new doors in that building or just remodel it ! we had bugs crawling into our hotel room ! We killed so many spiders !! We had use pillows / blankets to cover the door gaps. The building is so old they give you an actual key to open the door . The badge didn’t work which the receptionist didn’t know that, when we got there we had to wait 2 hours in the parking lot for the receptionist to find the hotel key since the badge doesnt work in that building ! we complained so many times that they finally send a locksmith to go check out the door & said there’s nothing wrong with the door when there obviously was ! So they denied giving us a different room so all of our trip we were killing the bugs that clawed into our room !. We went to the spa & paid in cash & when we were checking out the receptionist said we had a balance due for the spa apparently she didn’t put it in the computer so when checking out we had to wait until they can verify if we paid or not ! Such an inconvenient situation keep in mind we had a flight to catch !

The room was excellent, comfortable beds and very spacious. The room door was not isolated very well, allowing the sound of crickets and birds to enter the room (which was nice) but also allowed the sound of the cars, motorcycles and general traffic to come through at night. The grounds are gorgeous! Lanscaping in the resort is beautiful. You cant beat the volcano views. The hot springs on site are also great. The rooms seem outdated, the decor feels like its from the 80s. The rooms feel very sterile. Stay here for the hot springs, views, & proximity to everything in la fortuna.

Hotel Los Lagos Spa & Resort is a beautiful and relaxing property near Arenal Volcano. The grounds are lush, expansive, and well maintained, and the views of the volcano from the pools and walkways are stunning, especially in the mornings. The resort truly feels immersed in nature. From the time we checked in until we checked out, A1 service. All staff were pleasant and attentive. We received great service and great drinks at the bar. The amenities are amazing! This is the Disney of La Fortuna. A family of 4 with kids ages 9 and 13, everyone was able to find something to do. The kids couldn’t stay off the slides and the adults couldn’t stay out of the hot springs! The breakfast was great each day. The food at the wet bar was just as good. You can get a little Costa Rican flare or you can have simple foods for the picky eaters. All around amazing and wasn’t ready to leave!

The resort is very nice and I have visited many times. This visit however, I ran into difficulties at checkin. The resort has some very small rooms with only one bed, I was not aware of this as these tiny rooms are not available to book on US websites such as Hotels.com. Upon arrival they tried to downgrade my booking several times even though I had clearly shown the front desk what I had booked through this website...took over an hour to resolve successfully

We have stayed at Los Lagos before and the property and customer service has taken a drastic turn for the worse. On the plus side, the pool facilities are nice but try to enjoy them before the $18 day trippers arrive and overcrowd the facilities. We paid for an upgraded room but did not receive one. In fact, it was a new room that was still not quite ready. No room safe, sliding door not secure and most importantly an AC unit that was faulty and required us to wait for upwards of 3 hours for maint many times. They eventually allowed us to have the room we paid for our final night but we had to move all of our stuff in the pouring rain. They were rude and unapologetic like it was our fault. Additionally, there was construction right next door. It seems that we were punished and treated poorly because we booked through Expedia as opposed directly with the hotel. On several instances when we asked for the room we paid for, the desk staff commented on how we booked through Expedia. I would recommend staying somewhere else as there are lots of other options in the area.

We had a great stay! Check in was quick and easy. Staff was polite and helpful. Bracelet as the key made things very easy! Room was spacious. AC nice and cold. Grounds are absolutely beautiful. Shuttle up and down the hill was constantly running even in low season. Breakfast was wonderful with tons of options. Loved all the birds we saw! If I had anything negative to say it would be that it still felt crowded in the main hot springs even though it was low season.

The hotel and grounds were excellent. Cleanliness was great as well the staff in the restaurant and bar were also wonderful. The staff in the reception could use some client service training. Some of them were a bit rude and did not provide all of the details of the property when we first checked in. We were expecting to feel welcome and have someone greeting us with some enthusiasm and energy and instead we felt like we were bothering her when we first checked in. Just a reminder for some customer service training for the reception staff.

I have stayed here numerous times. I wish the gift shop would have later hours. Or that they would have vending machines for snacks. The customer service at the pool bar wasn’t as good as in the past, we went there to eat almost everyday due to the main dining area having a dress code.

Lovely hotel in La Fortuna, with many pools & great views of the volcano! Easy to get around if you have a rental car, tricky (but doable) if just using taxis & Uber. Some of the rooms are a bit farther from the lobby/restaurant/pools, but the shuttle is free & frequent!

Excellent resort/hotel with hot springs. We stayed 6 days. Highly recommend and would stay again. Very well maintained landscaping and rooms. Room was serviced/cleaned daily. Very efficient and meticulous staff. The room with the two trundle beds and 2 queen beds served our family well. The kids loved the hot springs pools and water slides. I was particularly impressed with the groundskeeping and wildlife on site. The large trees by the pool consistently had guan and toucans visiting. There were so many tanagers and flycatchers also. Large green iguanas basking in the treetops. Turtles in another pond closer to the restaurant. We were treated to a peccary sighting in our back garden early one morning. We heard howler monkeys daily from the back patio, where my husband and I took our morning coffee while the kids slept in. Breakfast buffet that was included was great- large selection of food to fit all tastes. We dined at the restaurant for one meal and enjoyed it. Great location close to La Fortuna downtown (restaurants, shopping) and Arenal park. Thank you for a memorable trip and helping book our tours. Pura vida!

Kunne fint ha informert litt rundt at det faktisk er en regnskog løype man kan gå inne på hotellområdet der man kan se masse forskjellige dyr og fugler. Støtte på en stor flokk med nesebjørn ved flere anledninger på hotellområdet. Anbefaler dette hotellet selv om det ligger litt unna La Fortuna. Uber var veldig enkelt om billig.

The hotel has the most amazing view of the volcano. Our room was on a corner in which we were able to see the sunrise and volcano. The hot springs are amazing and relaxing. The breakfast was delicious and had many items to choose from. The rooms are a bit outdated but clean. Very close to downtown La Fortuna.

Great location, pools and hot springs where great, kids loved the slides, parents loved the hot springs with swim up bar. Zip lining on site for extra charge is definitely worth it, volcano overview is worth checking out. Restaurant has great food.

Breakfast was great. The property only had the one pool bar and one restaurant which was a little disappointing. Would stay again but only for 2/3 days as after that there is little to do on the property. It is a great location for all the activities around the area like zip lining, volcano hikes etc…

Beautiful resort. The grounds were stunning. Our family really enjoyed the hot spring pools and the kids loved the cooler swimming pools with slides. The included breakfast was fantastic and the staff on the resort was super friendly and helpful. The room was super clean, although dated in appearance. This did not bother us at all as we were rarely in the room. The only negative I can think of is that there was no weather stripping on the bottom of the room door and at nighttime (everynight) there were massive ants that would come in under the front door. I took a towel each night and jammed it underneath the door to prevent this. The resort is quite large and there is a shuttle that runs to take you around. It was super easy and not even a nuissance. We loved the resort and would recommend to others and hope to come back again one day.

I took a towel each night and jammed it underneath the door to prevent this. The resort is quite large and there is a shuttle that runs to take you around. It was super easy and not even a nuissance. We loved the resort and would recommend to others and hope to come back again one day.

The pools were good and have different temperatures and mixes of hot springs water. Breakfast is really good. Restaurant is okay, but bar food is as actually much better for dinner!

Beautiful resort , emerged into the lush jungle. Rich landscape everywhere you look. Ponds, lots of hot springs (different types and sizes, fun swim up bar), 2 pools with fast fun slides, wildlife (nature walk) and a trail up the mountain to a viewpoint of Volcano. The setting is just amazing. The breakfast was solid but didnt change much day to day. The wet bar pool menu was tasty, fresh and very affordable. We had dinner there once and it was okay. Nothing amazing. Service was good for all our meals especially at the pool bar. The room was basic but very clean. Nice balcony overlooking the beautiful landscaping. We saw lots of toucans around. Wish the room had more hooks or places to hang towels/swim clothes etc. the bathroom smelled a bit of sewage. However the staff did a great job cleaning the rooms daily. No bugs at all inside . Loved the proximity to the town and all the activities. Would definitely recommend

Hot and cold pools were awesome. Swim up bar with tables in the water in the hot pool and landscaping was beautiful around the entire facility. Food in the restaurant was exceptional, which you don't find most of the time at the hotel you are staying at.

Clean room, great pools for kids and wonderful hot pools. Very cool only complaint would be the pol bar music was bad subwoofer just kills the music. Better music would be wonderful. The breakfast really great and the dinner food was good as well. I would stay again.

It was a clean and eco-friendly property at the base of the volcano with beautiful views! The pools were nice if not a little crowded at times. The restaurant was good but evening menu was limited! Breakfast was great. The property only had the one pool bar and one restaurant which was a little disappointing. Would stay again but only for 2/3 days as after that there is little to do on the property. It is a great location for all the activities around the area like zip lining, volcano hikes etc…

There was some mold around the tub, the tub was stained, outlets were few, and the lighting was harsh. Highlights are the amazing hot springs, the gardens and the pool bar. The restaurant could be better for the price.

We had a wonderful stay at Los Lagos! The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. Our room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. We also really appreciated the convenient shuttle service around the property, including transportation to and from the rooms. The hotel grounds were beautiful and we really enjoyed our time here. Would definitely recommend Los Lagos to anyone visiting La Fortuna!
