Beautiful and peaceful property, infinity pool is a dream! All rooms have beautiful ocean view with balcony. There is shuttle every hour to taramindo downtown (otherwise a 15 minute walk up/down a steep hill, good workout!), and free entrance to langosta beach club! Food at the restaurant was surprisingly impressive. The seafood risotto was probably the best I have had outside Italy.

The room was spacious and clean with the features we like, comfortable bed and pillows, hairdryer, refrigerator, clean bedding and towels upon request. The hotel isn’t on the beach but the ocean view from our balcony was spectacular. There is an hourly shuttle to town and the beach club. The only negative aspect was there were 40 loungers around the pool but only 5 umbrellas. Due to the angle of the sun, there is no shade anywhere during the hottest time of the day. The best part of the experience was the staff, from the shuttle drivers, chamber maids, front desk, restaurant and pool. They interacted with us and had a positive impact on our stay.

Hotel muy bonito, con una vista espectacular y el atardecer se ve al frente. Ofrecen servicio de transporte a la playa, el personal es amabale y las habitaciones son muy bonitas, tomamos una con vista al mar y fue lo mejor, lo recomiendo muchísimo. El desayuno bastante bueno. Lo unico que nos extrañó fue que abren una cuenta para cargar a la habitación pero en el bar y restaurante no permiten cargar a la habitación uno debe pagar ahí mismo

The properties view for the price is unbeatable. Would book again purely for the view. The breakfast in the morning was great. Some main staples every morning with a few changes to keep it different. The pool was great. Pool is showing some signs of needed to be resurfaced but it was great none the less. The hotel is not within walking distance of downtown so place to drive or take the shuttle (I did not take the shuttle but it runs often and quick so not hard) (parking downtown was very easy with my rental car) - I did not eat dinner at the hotel but I ate at Mercadito - great, Flying bull - great, and Patagonia steakhouse - great. All solid food. I thought Flying bull was the best (closed on Tuesdays) that had a generous prices and great exchange rate for USD. Mercadito on taco Tuesday was a great great treat deal for tacos. I found Tamarindo to be redundant and boring but I did go surfing which was fun. I feel like I did myself a disservice as Tamarindo is known for its night life and I was there Sunday - Wednesday. Prior I was in Santa Teresa which was terrific.

Nice view of the beach, but quite a distance away, and cell tower directly in the view. Shuttles are a nice feature, and definetly a must given the steep Incline up to the property. Swim up bar is sweet. Beautiful view of the sunset from the amazing infinity pool.

Beautiful ocean view but the hotel needs some attention. The curtains are filthy...covered in mold and so are the balcony chairs. The AC is super loud and it leaks. The closet in the room does not close properly and one of the hinges was on the ground upon arrival. We had to get new bed sheets on our first day as there was makeup on them and one of our pillows was dirty with what appeared to me to be a shoe mark, not sure. The breakfast is just ok and on one occasion the rice with beans smelled sour like it had gone bad. This is our second visit at this property since we had such a good experience on our first visit 2 yrs ago. Some construction taking place next door but it was not very loud, it actually did not bother us. There are some great things about it, the infinity pool is very nice and there is plenty of parking available and the staff is very nice. We like Wyndham properties and stayed at different ones around the world but it is likely our last time visiting this location.

This is a really nice hotel for the Tamarindo area. Great staff and service. The shuttle service was important because of the location on a steeper hill. Walking down is no problem, but it's a bit of a hike going up...great for a good leg workout. Rooms are nice and all have ocean views overlooking Tamarindo and the pool. The pool is really nice and big, and the restaurant is also a nice option. Breakfast could have a little more variety from day to day, but overall good. You also have access to the Langosta Beach Club on Tamarindo beach, which the shuttle drops off and picks up at. We definitely enjoyed our stay!

Firstly the hotel has a giant grasshopper problem, the issue being after sunset they would appear and once disturbed would erratically fly into you making for an uncomfortable stay. Mindful we are in Costa Rica and nature is part of the experience, this very much felt like an infestation and the hotel seemingly do not have any inclination to try to address the problem . Our experience was made worse by not being warned of the problem, upon leaving our room on the first night we were unexpectedly set upon by these insects. The lifts at the property were very dirty and it is very obvious that they do not form part of any cleaning schedule. The breakfast for me is a big miss, cold hot buffet and limited choices. This being said I believe it is included in the price. The room was relatively clean with daily housekeeping. The bathroom is super tiny and our shower did not work properly (as I understand this seemed to be an issue in most rooms). The towels could do with changing which are threadbare and clearly have reached the end of their life cycle. Ignore the timing displayed for the shuttle bus, this will leave when full and there are only limited seats. The hotel pool is fantastic.

The room was nasty with dead bugs upon arrival. Even after it was cleaned, they did not clean the toilet or bathroom at all. The only thing that looked done was just making up the bed. The bathroom shower had rust on it. The hotel itself is outdated with chairs that also had rust. The bed was amazing to sleep in and the view was great but that’s about it.

The lobby and pool area are beautiful with a stunning view of the ocean, unfortunately the room and bathroom where very disappointing. The floor of the room was completely filled with dust, we found like four hairs as soon as we first opened the room, and the bathroom looked like it hadn’t gotten maintenance in a few years as everything looked old, the plastic table was yellow and the toilet didn’t flush correctly. Overall it was disappointing to pay for a higher end hotel and get a ran down, dirty room and bathroom.

I gave this hotel a 2-star and not a 1-star because of the amazing view of the ocean. Otherwise the room was dirty. The toilet was dirty and there was a dirty towel in our room. The walls around the light switch and toilet paper was dirty and you can tell hadn't been clean in awhile. The only staff that was friendly was the shuttle service. The buffet food wasn't good either.

The TV was broken, mini refrigerator had to replaced tree times, food and gruits all turn bad . The sinks in the bathroom were all below the waist. You had to bend down to wash your face. The towels and bath towels were so thin , old and the color alredy turn gray looks so dirty. the bed was soo soft, old and dirty you can see dusts hairs also on the old half borken table lamp. You can hear every movements from your next room and you will feel like earthquake when someone close the door .

Only had double beds for 3 people. No queen/king bed and double option. Toiletries Where on the skimpy side. Wi fi was very weak and dropped often. This was such a lovely hotel. All the rooms overlook the pool and the beach/sunset. It's up on a steep hill so the views are nice, but definitely not easy to walk to and from the beach. Fortunately, they have a shuttle, but we rented a car. The rooms, however, leave much to be desired. They are sparsely decorated with minimal furniture, which was disappointing considering how beautiful the downstairs lobby was.
This was such a lovely hotel. All the rooms overlook the pool and the beach/sunset. It's up on a steep hill so the views are nice, but definitely not easy to walk to and from the beach. Fortunately, they have a shuttle, but we rented a car. The rooms, however, leave much to be desired. They are sparsely decorated with minimal furniture, which was disappointing considering how beautiful the downstairs lobby was.

Beautiful and peaceful property, infinity pool is a dream! All rooms have beautiful ocean view with balcony. There is shuttle every hour to taramindo downtown (otherwise a 15 minute walk up/down a steep hill, good workout!), and free entrance to langosta beach club! Food at the restaurant was surprisingly impressive. The seafood risotto was probably the best I have had outside Italy.

The grounds and convenience of this hotel are great. They have a shuttle every hour to take you into town. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Alliot and Anthony at the front desk were so helpful and welcoming. The only thing is some of the rooms are a bit dated. Scuffed up walls, old black out curtains. The bathroom is also very small.

This property had an incredible view, as it was located up on the hill. They offer a shuttle service to and from town which we didn't use, but I imagine is very convenient! They also included access to their partner beach club which was amazing & included a gym with classes available! The rooms themselves were nice, but a bit outdated & the bathroom was tiny.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Wyndham Tamarindo. The staff were friendly and beyond helpful! The rooms were clean and the view was stunning. Breakfast was absolutely amazing, we enjoyed the pool, and the hourly shuttle made getting to and from downtown so quick and easy!! Highly recommend staying here! We would come back in a heartbeat!

We went to this hotel due to a short business trip in Tamarindo. The hotel was nice and the rooms had a beautiful ocean view from the top. But I must admit two issues: first, the room was not properly cleaned (it had an opened bottle of water inside, the staff forgot to change it). And the staff was not very friendly: first when checking-in and also at the restaurant (here the staff and the speed on providing a proper service was quite poor). I might never come back.

We had a fantastic stay at the Wyndham; the views are excellent, the beds very comfortable and the food quite good. The service and staff are kind and attentive. Lots of umbrellas with sun chairs, clean pool. We rented a golf cart for the duration of our stay and loved using it to get us to the lanogsta beach club and around tamarindo. We loved everything about this property!!! The views are second to none! Bryan at the Front Desk was so kind and helpful, he made sure to go over all hotel details with us. Our room was very clean and was quite functional. The air conditioning worked great and our shower was nice and roomy with lots of hot water. Elena with Housekeeping came every day and made sure we had fresh towels and even left us sweet treats! ❤️ We enjoyed having a cocktail on our balcony and watching the sun set each evening. The pool was wonderful and we enjoyed the swim up bar service. The breakfast buffet was delicious with so many options. I got excited each morning to see which amazing fruits were being offered. We dined several times at Caviar for lunch and dinner. Every meal was outstanding and the wait staff was so kind & attentive. The hotel also has a shuttle which will take you to town and the Langosta Beach Club. We spent one day at the beach club and enjoyed it, we even saw a Howler monkey! I highly recommend booking a stay at Wyndham Tamarindo. 👍🎉

We had an amazing stay at Wyndham Tamarindo – the hotel itself is beautiful, with stunning views, a relaxing atmosphere, and excellent service from the staff. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we truly enjoyed the overall vibe of the place. However, our experience at the on-site restaurant, Caviar, was extremely disappointing. We waited over an hour and a half for our food, and when it finally arrived, it was cold and poorly cooked. I highly recommend the hotel, but I suggest eating elsewhere in town if you're looking for a good meal.

If the hotel going to provide bar, restaurant and room service the hotel should be able to handle it. The swim up pool bar was out of drinks the 1st day there. The 2nd day the bar food service was closed because of a private party they were going to serve. Later in the day I tried to order room service they said they were too busy and to call back in an hour. Try to call back an hour later, the phone was being picked up and put down disconnecting the call. The staff wasn't even trying to answer the phone. Hotel is nice, clean. It is a 20 walk into town; the hotel is on a hill. They provide a shuttle into town every hour which is great if you do not want to walk.

Our stay at the Wyndham Tamarindo was absolutely wonderful! The hotel itself is stunning, perched perfectly with incredible ocean views that make you stop and just take it all in. Breakfast was excellent, and the dinner we had there was equally amazing, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We loved the convenience of the complimentary shuttle service to downtown Tamarindo and to the partner hotel right on the beach. The staff was warm, attentive, and incredibly helpful in setting us up with a catamaran tour, which turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. Now, for full honesty the AC decided to add some “atmosphere” by dripping water onto the floor in the middle of the night, and the hairdryer only had about one and a half prongs, so it was more of a paperweight than a styling tool. But honestly, those were tiny blips in what was otherwise a truly fantastic stay. Wyndham Tamarindo is a beautiful blend of comfort, scenery, and genuine hospitality. I’d happily stay again, and next time, maybe I’ll just bring my own hairdryer!

Like: Pool is very nice, clean and new. Disliked: Rude staff - they acted like they were annoyed every time we interacted with them. In addition, housekeeping staff entered our room THREE times while I was taking a shower and the bathroom door was open. As a woman, I felt very unsafe (the housekeeping staff were men sometimes). I asked for no service two times and they continued to enter. This combined with the lack of deadbolt locks on the doors was. not okay. There was also mold in our shower and all over the lounge chairs by the pool. Finally, the GRASSHOPPERS. They are SIX inches long and and there are hundreds in the hallways and all over. your door. When you try to move them away to enter your room, they all flight at directly at you. Also, many times there were over 30 in the elevator waiting for you as well. All night, you can't sleep because you hear other guests screaming and throwing their shoes at the grasshoppers. There are better places that are more friendly, less moldy, and without so many grasshoppers - choose another place!

Even though I wasn't to keen on relying on the shuttle to go up and down the hill the shuttle drivers themselves are above and beyond. Shout out to Jaime. I would 100% stay at the Wyndham again when I return to Tamarindo.

Property is situated at the top of the hill in tamarindo overseeing the beach from room balcony. While the hotel is not closer to town / beach, they have shuttles that would take you to the town and to another beach front resort where you can lounge, chill and enjoy the beach. Beautiful view. Pool is awesome! Shuttle service every hr down the hill and back. Hotel guests get Access to the Beach club/bar was awesome! Langusta I think it's called. Very clean. Friendly staff. The restaurant was great and had live music for dinner. Can connect your prime or Netflix to watch before bed on the TV. The only thing I could say negative is for the price of the stay there should be a hotel shuttle service to and from the airport. If you don't book ahead you will pay 150 USD for a ride to the hotel..... Luckily I found another group going to tamarindo and we split the bill. So book ahead or ask people at baggage claim to split a ride with you. Great hotel

The staff is super friendly infinity pool was very nice ! It is not on the beach, but they have a shuttle that takes you to the beach. The food was also very delicious which is rare for a restaurant hotel. It had a really nice view

The pool and the pool bar were absolutely incredible. Service at the restaurant was pretty slow but the food was really good. The breakfast was mediocre. The cleanliness was mediocre. The view was absolutely incredible I would say overall for the money this was an incredible value. There was a giant bug that came underneath the door quickly in the middle of the night I screamed my head off. And the elevator there was warnings saying that they were not venomous but I still screamed like a girl. There are quite a few dead cockroaches which means that they are treating for them but it's just kind of an open-air part of nature atmosphere and I think that that's probably somewhat unavoidable.

We were very pleased with the Wyndham in Tamarindo. The staff was exceptional. They went out of their way to make our stay the best it could be. Their pool is very clean and relaxing and the pool bar was a nice additionl. One of the best features is the quality of the beds and pillows. One of the most comfortable rooms I've ever stayed in! And they have a tour operator in the lobby who arranged a few trips for us. We would definitely choose this hotel if we visit Tamarindo again. :)

This hotel was great for our engagement trip! Perfect views of the beach and has a really nice pool area with a swim up bar as well! The rooms could be nicer and cleaner but overall they were good for what we needed!
