Wonderful property - truly a luxury resort. With only 100 rooms, one gets a lot of personalized service. Hot springs are great. Club Riu is fun - the tubing and nature conservancy were both worth doing.

Great resort to take in the La Fortuna area and Arenal Volcano views and activities. Staff went above and beyond to be friendly and accommodating. The Hot Springs on site are great, and we often had each pool to ourselves. Very nice to have Club Rio for outdoor activities and a more natural feeling hot spring experience overlooking the Arenal river. The restaurants and food were nice and palatable with great setting and views, but the food was not amazing. We were in a newer building that was further from the main reception and lobby/restaurants, the walk was very nice and not more than 5-10 mins, but there were also ample golf carts to make the ride quick, easy and fun for the kids.

Our stay at The Springs Resort was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away. The staff was warm, friendly, and made us feel so welcome throughout our stay. But what really makes this place unforgettable are the facilities and the views, truly next level. The hot springs, pools, and amenities are incredible, and the breathtaking scenery all around makes every moment feel special. We had so much fun as a family and created memories we’ll cherish forever. We can’t wait to come back- highly, highly recommend!

Fantastic hotel with great facilities Loved the hot springs Rio club had a great wildlife reserve to see lots of the wildlife close up Room was large with fantastic balcony overlooking the Arenal volcano Washing facilities were very useful although no dryer which would have been good but was still great to be able wash some of our clothes midway through a 3 week trip

Fantastic hot springs; didn't feel too crowded. Service was exceptional. The rooms are far larger and more luxurious than they appear in the pictures. Activities at Club Rio were excellent and very well coordinated, with lots of available staff to help. The food at the restaurants was fine but not exceptional. It's a 20 minute ride into Fortuna, but worth it if you're staying for a few nights and would like to try other dining options.

Really nice grounds. Great views. Clean and pristine when you arrive. The hot springs are a little gimmicky as they are surrounded by artificial rock landscaping but they do a great job at making feel natural. The food is par at best. Not bad / but so far away from where it is all priced. Service is about the same unless you are at the wood at the bar. More attentive and friendly there. On the downside: There is a boat load of pressure to tip!!! Despite that have auto gratuity built into the final tab. They want more and they do t hide it. We get it but it takes away from the experience. Overall - Great place but very very very commercial. Business first - customers second. Not worth the price but great if you can snag a sale.

We were charged tax and service fee for every dining and activity. Then at the end of our stay since the charges were added to our room we were charged MORE tax and service fees for everything we already had been charged previously. I specifically asked every worker if there would be additional charges if we paid all of it at the end and everyone said no. This was false. We paid tax and fees on top of already calculated tax and fees. Plus the room door is not well sealed. We found lizards and beetles in our room everyday despite it appearing clean and new. We had to place towels by the door to seal it off at night so no more critters would come inside.

The Springs Resort and Spa far exceeded our expectations. The resort was beautiful, well maintained and guest friendly. The three staff members we had the most contact with were exceptional, Esteban and Carlos, our golf cart drivers and Saul, our guide at the wildlife sanctuary. Every single staff member we came in contact was friendly and helpful, many going out of their way to assist us. Our arrival was especially great. When the reception staff saw my wife had mobility issues, they immediately offered us a complementary upgrade to a first floor room, which made everything so much nicer for us. We will definitely be returning, and we highly recommend the Springs Resort to anyone seeking a fabulous vacation.

Our time at The Springs during December 2023 was lovely. The room was spacious and comfortable. All of the hotel staff were unbelievably friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping monitored the room all day so every time you re-entered it was completely fresh. The entire resort was kept very clean and tidy at all times. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the hot springs, especially after travel and excursions. Having the hot springs in the resort supported peak relaxation throughout our stay. The food we ate on the premises at Tres Casadas and Tree Tops was good, but the empanadas at Tree Tops were our favorite. We would definitely stay here again.

This was an absolutely wonderful day, wish we could have had more time, but our 3 nights there were stellar. The property is up in the hills, and overlooks the Arenal volcano. Spectacular views from the main lobby and even from our rooms! There are multiple hot springs and pools on site, in 3 different groupings, and all were situated beautiful with food options and bathrooms and towel stations nearby. Delicious food, including sushi and Italian options. The drinks were delicious, especially from one bartender named Paola who also went above and beyond to take care of us. We ran into her every day and her wit and positive attitude were just wonderful. And lastly, the spa is small but stunning, i had a great massage and scrub which were both super relaxing. Highly recommend!

Beautiful property with stunning views. Club rio was my favorite and it’s part of the hotel. Never thought coming to this area but was one of the most beautiful places. The only thing I didn’t like that it’s a bit far from downtown. (About 15 min drive) The volcano views vary depending on the weather but once you get the view, it’s amazing!!! Will definitely come back in my next visit to Costa Rica.

Luxurious five star property that checked all the boxes. Amazing and highly attentive staff, exceptionally well maintained property, with countless pools and natural hot springs, and its own activity center on the Arenal River that runs through the property. Our room was spacious, with a large bathroom with spa tub, and large balcony with ideal view of the volcano. The property was tucked into a forrest 15 minutes from town. Being on site is an experience in itself. The only downside was the pull of being on site can limit interest in taking more advantage of the surrounding area. The dining options were good, not great, but the bar bites by the pool and river were all satisfying. All in all, one of the finest properties we have ever stayed at. Looking forward to a return visit.

This place has plenty of hot springs and has a great atmosphere. You can enjoy hot springs and a pool or take the bus down to the “legit” springs that overlook the river - it’s a pretty magical place! The food options are limited but it is only a 10 minute drive into town

Great hotel. But the breakfast is disappointing, especially if you are vegan or gluten free. Prepare for just same eggs, bacon, basic fruit selection, etc..... no interesting healthy dishes. And they charge for breakfast, even coffee in the morning, when every other CR hotel we stayed at included breakfast.

The on-site hot springs were fantastic. The concierge service helped us find a great tour for our last day, and they were very accommodating in allowing us a late checkout to work with our flight plans. The views from the balcony were excellent, and the room was incredibly spacious. Dining options were good, though pricy. Try to stop at a grocery store before settling into the property - some cheaper snacks and breakfast items would have been a good buy for us.

Beautiful resort, clean and great staff. We are foodies and the food was by far not to quality vs what you pay. Breakfast was fine but resort food should didn’t compare to restaurants in la fortuna. We will be back! No need to push people downtown….cheaper for + taxi both ways and food 2 times better at sodas and location restaurants.

Greatest place to stay in the area - hot springs - beautiful view - great staff - great service - the ride to the river facilities including - the horseback riding/tubing/mountain climbing was all perfect. The one thing I will say which was not as good was the evening food quality at their Sushi & Steak (two separate) restaurants. Go into town eat at Don Rufino (that place was absolutely excellent) and if you want some great brick oven pizza go to Anch'io.

The Springs Resort & Spa is a stunning property with breathtaking views and world-class facilities. The setting is truly fabulous, but the overall customer experience can be hit or miss. While there are many dining options, the quality of food doesn’t quite justify the exorbitant prices. We had a great stay overall, but given the cost, we’re not sure we’d return—there are more consistent luxury resorts globally that offer better value for money.
