The property is one of its kind and rated well with my expectations. The location is prominent enough with plenty of food options within and close by (within 5 min drive). The hot springs were the best part and parking was super convenient. Food was decent however, lacks variety. Morning breakfast was not the best and could have been better on both variety and quantity. Specially during the lag 30 min before closing. Restaurant staff were not that friendly and lacked energy. Not a deal breaker, as the front staff in reception area were great and friendly.

Seimbup bar was a nice touch but drink prices there were ridiculous. Other items around the hotel were affordable. Rooms were clean and comfortable, though all the dark wood made them too dark and not very cozy. Juan at the from desk was especially helpful and personable. Security was tight going in and out of the property and that felt good. The number of day-pass people on a Saturday when we were there was insane, but the other days were much better. Breakfast buffet is very good and noon checkout is a plus…

Hot springs were outstanding

We love this hotel! Second time staying and just as good as the first. 20 hot springs, water slides and pool bars with TVs to relax. Nice staff and clean facilities

Rooms are a little dated but spacious. The property ambiance is amazing especially the cascading thermal pools.

Pros: Amazing hot springs, good kids area (fun slides), everything was clean, cart rides if needed to rooms, great security, staff was great, location is perfect (close to volcano) and restaurants Cons: Towels/locker area for day pass people was inconvenient, walking up hill (rooms far away), lots of people, limited restaurants, day pass people have to have cash for towels (inconvenient)

Baldi is an amazing and one of a kind hotel! The new rooms in the back of the hot springs are huge and beautiful. There’s no other place in the world like their multi-level volcanic hot springs. They are a must see while in Arenal. The spa is incredible as well!

Pool cleanliness, sizes and options cannot be beat! The 24-hour pool is rotated, and pools cleaned and refilled daily. There are plenty of different temperatures as well as a natural cave sauna with mini hot waterfalls. Our room had a balcony with chairs where we could enjoy coffee in the morning and spot hummingbirds feeding. The room is stocked with everything from water, nuts, chips to a 5th of some liquors. The shower could have been a little better but was the only hotel of three we stayed at that actually had a tub. Although the drinks were pricey at least they were really good. Food was good but there is only the option of the same menu for sit down and room service or the buffet. Quality of the food was good, and the breakfast buffet had great options for omelet, fruits, cereal, yogurt, eggs, bacon and more. The property was so big the bell hop gave us a quick tour on a cart prior to delivering and helping us to our hotel room.

Overpriced. Paid $$$ so expectations were fairly high - bathtub was dirty upon arrival, maid service forgot duvet cover second night ick. Smelly bathrooms in hotel room. Don’t even think about having any of the tempting water or treats placed in your hotel room - you’ll pay for it. Ground staff were nice. Very stingy about towels - if you need a new towel for pool you need to call front desk and wait for them to deliver to you. Hotel itself has one limited view of Arenal from the grounds, unlike others in the area. Noisy, filled with day passers Basically a water park at Fortuna. Not a relaxing experience I say go for a day pass if you have kids but definitely don’t stay there. Lots of nicer options in the area

I stayed at this resort about 12 years ago and it has really changed. It is no longer a family-oriented hotel. I traveled with my husband and son and to our surprise the facial tissue had a blood stain. The room wasn't clean and there was hair under the bed. The rooms and bathrooms have a dark color that make them look very gloomy and our stay there was not pleasant at all.

Great place. Couldn’t sleep good to noisy with animals sounds and in the morning at 6 am they stared working around . Everyone friendly and helpful. Great location. Clean. Good food.

Old smelly room in a rundown building behind a big parking lot very noisy rude management who don’t care about your comfort

I gave this property a 3 because i expected much more for $500 a night. Complaints- poorly working air conditioner (the best it did was about 76 degrees), water never got very hot (i dont even like really hot showers but this was just luke warm), the food was ok, not great and the dinner buffet was awful (please skip it). The room had a dehumidifier that needed emptying 3 to 4 times a day. If i emptyed it before bed i was woken up very early in the morning to empty it again. If you don't have it running it get hotter in the room. It was raining off and on so maybe it's better if drier. Accolades- beautiful property, the pools were wonderful, the room's furnishings were nice and the staff were friendly and accommodating.

I booked Baldi Resort expecting a luxury 5-star experience, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. First off, the Wi-Fi was completely useless. In today’s world, especially at a resort marketed as high-end, reliable internet should be a given – not a constant headache. But the worst part? Anyone can enter the property for just $60. That means the pools and facilities are overrun with people, making it feel more like a crowded public water park than an exclusive resort. There's zero sense of privacy or comfort. I ended up checking out early due to the chaos and poor connectivity, but when I asked for a refund because of the inconvenience, they flat-out refused. No accountability, no attempt to make things right. Baldi Resort is falsely advertised. It’s NOT a 5-star experience – in fact, it’s not even close. Save your money and your sanity – stay somewhere else.

We stayed here 4 days, had a lovely junior suite, very large room and bath with private outdoor space surrounded by plants so felt very private. We enjoyed doing things in the Fortuna area and spending 1-2 hours in the hot springs pools each day. Night was very pretty with the colored lights on the pools and less people than during the day. Staff very helpful, including one who would give us rides in the golf cart back to our suite which was at the far wnd of property. Only issue were the dining options. We liked the included breakfast buffet very much, but thought the bar food and the two restaurants were only so-so.

My recent stay at Baldi Hot Springs Hotel and Spa in La Fortuna provided a mix of positives and negatives, ultimately leaving me with a mixed impression. On the positive side, the hot springs themselves were very nice, clean, and conveniently located. They provided a relaxing retreat and were a highlight of the stay. However, the experience was marred by several issues. The front desk staff were not attentive, leading to a lengthy check-in process and a lack of responsiveness throughout my stay. While the breakfast buffet offered a good variety of options, the lunch buffet was only average in quality. Furthermore, I encountered issues with the hotel's policies regarding pool towels. Despite being provided with towels upon check-in, one was stolen while I was using the hot springs. When I approached the staff for assistance, they were unhelpful and failed to address the situation satisfactorily. To exacerbate matters, upon checking out, I was charged for the stolen towel, which felt unjust given the circumstances. Although I enjoyed the attractions of La Fortuna, including its natural beauty, I do not plan to stay at Baldi Hot Springs Hotel and Spa again in the future. The lack of attentive service, coupled with policy enforcement issues, detracted significantly from what could have been a more enjoyable experience.

Food Quality - 1/5 - very poor food, please eat outside the hotel Restaurant Staff - 0/5 - rude, unhelpful and no willingness to actually serve Bar Timings - 1/5. After 10pm you cannot even get a coke, let alone a beer Hotel Policies - 0/5. I can understand that your card machines are out but at least let guests run a tab to pay cash at the end. You are a thermal resort with 25 pools. I had to carry cash in every pool and try to keep it dry to pay for any beverage. Very ridiculous!

Resort upper management failed to informed guest that they couldnt take credit card for any consuption inside report only cash wss allowed. Very inconvinient to have to leave the comfort of the resort when in need of meals/ beverages/ etc

We have stayed at this property 6 times before and has always loved it. We had a problem that our shower was not working, barely a trickle of water. We informed the staff, and they agreed that something was definitely wrong. They offered to fix or switch rooms. As we had already unpacked for multiple days, we gave them a chance to fix. We were told it was fixed, and it was temporarily, but then the same problem occurred. We were offered an opportunity to move, but is was already late on our last night, we didn't want to pack up, just to check out the next day. basically we had 1 day where the shower worked properly. The staff offered no compensation, which should have been offered even if we had moved for our inconvenience. The front desk tried, but basically have no authority to do anything. The manager, Max, was a coward, and would not even talk to us directly. Problems occur in hospitality, but the gauge of a quality establishment is how problems are handled. Offering to switch rooms at the least convenient time with no other compensation is not acceptable. Not to mention we were repeat "VIP" guests. We weren't looking for a full refund or anything, just a small discount for our inconvenience. I even asked if they would cover the 2 drinks we had at the bar ($24) and we were told it was not possible. What a joke. Baldi has changed over the years, and they definitely do not care about the guests, they are more concerned about selling day passes to the springs

The hotel is spectacular; the thermal waters flow through pools seamlessly integrated with nature. The service from reception, housekeeping, and the restaurant is outstanding. There are also excellent excursion options.

We were told we could only use cash and not credit cards because the processor was not working. We later found out from staff members that the real reason is because of a family dispute. Blatant lie

Great Experience! Convenient location to all activities, around Arenal Volcano. The unique spa/pools, were very large and well thought out. Walk up bars in some areas. Really nice place. Very accommodating.

Natural hot springs were amazing, especially after a long day of hiking. At night we had the entire water park to ourselves. Close to all attractions, and an easy drive into La Fortuna for dinner.

This is a beautiful property with amazing Hot Springs and landscaping everywhere! The room was quite big and nicely appointed. Staff are friendly and helpful. It’s a great location as it’s near the national park and downtown.

Great property but terrible food.

We enjoyed ourselves very much at Baldi. The food was not great especially the dinner buffet but the bar food was fine for lunch and snacks. With over twenty pools some with slides, some with bars and some more private there was something for everyone. Service was friendly, rooms and grounds were kept clean. Be careful even though it’s a huge property they bus in tour tons of people so it can get crowded.
