Stamford Grand Adelaide

Hotel is in need of renovation. Rooms are dated and patched up. Pool and spa were closed, apparently from wet weather??? Bar is nice but requires security to control the younger crowd.

Great hotel and location. Clean rooms , great gym with attentive staff throughout.

The hotel pool was a favourite during the recent heatwave!

Beautiful views however I was under the impression that the pool was indoors, but this was not the case. The spa wasn't working which was disappointing and the bath towels in the motel room were quite small and thin. Not what you would expect when booking what I assumed was the luxury balcony suite.

Well located on beach. Easy walking everywhere. Parking is annoying. It’s an additional cost and a walk to the next building

Parking was $25 overnight - seems expensive

Staff were fantastic. Beautiful location. Spacious rooms and lovely lounge, pool, gym and spa.

We really enjoyed our stay especially it was near the coast. We can see the sea from our room. We where able to have a sea view room. Breakfast was also very nice and made fresh each day. We also had dinner at your restaurant 3 times. Which was also good. Only we had we had plans to use your swimming pool. We found the heating for the pool was not working properly. We could not experience using the pool.

The area is excellent. The hotel is good. As always some facilities don't work. This time the sauna was not heating up and jets in the spa didn't work.

Carpets dirty, smell of food in passage, bathrooms are out dated,

The carpets are disgustingly dirty, take them out and put in the hardwood or laminate! Get with the times!!! The couches and stairs are stained and disgusting!! So gross I wouldn’t sit on them if you paid me! Sadly, even with the room upgrade (which I greatly appreciated) we will not be back. The amazing location, ocean view and fantastic staff…we will not be back until it’s updated.

Room and hotel more widely could do with a refresh. Everything seemed tired, faded and a bit scuffed. Smelly floor drain in bathroom for duration of stay (hotel's solution was to have someone come and pour scented liquid into it). Shower drain blocked on first night (had just arrived from a very long flight) and we ended up with wet carpet in the main room area for the rest of the stay. Was expecting better for the room rate. That said, bed v comfortable, the ocean views were incredible (the sunsets...) and it's in an excellent location. If a bit of money was spent on painting, carpets and modernising, she could easily be back to her former premium level.

The staff are really lovely, accommodating and always happy to help. The room had some gross long black hair along the window sill and floor but otherwise was very clean and well presented. The building itself could probably benefit from some upgrades but as it is, has a lot of character and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The buffet breakfast was nice with plenty of options including barista made coffee. Its a short walk to entertainment for kids and adults and some great little shops along jetty rd.

Room was spotless, as was bathroom. Had a small glitch with TV and they sent someone to our room immediately. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The location was amazing. Will definitely be back

Lovely hotel but tired. The windows were filthy and so bad you could barely see through them. So disappointed as advertised with views. Cleaners were efficient and lovely.

The only gripe I had was that the chairs in our room were filthy, I was surprised that they though it was ok for them to be left in the room as everything else was good.. I meant to mention this at checkout but forgot at the time. It has beautiful views of the ocean with many nice places to eat and drink.

Worst sleep at a hotel in a long time. Room temp in middle of summer was stifling hot even with temp controller set to max cool. I know multiple guests contacted the front desk.

That stay was great. The wi-fi provided by the hotel was of very poor quality. I ended up using my phone data as it was quite imposdible to load even a basic website via wi-fi. We traveled in s large group and many others had the same experience. We traveled from Melbourne and on the way stopped of at a little town. The wi-fi in that motel was of better quality.

Lovely room with sea view

Asked for a room with a city view. Got a view of the car park.

I probably wouldn't get a room again with no balcony or at least an opening window. It was very stuffy and had to leave the room quiet a bit there was just no air flow and the toilet/bathroom had no exhaust or window it's was just very uncomfortable. And the fact you have to wait nearly week to get your deposit back, overall it just wasn't a very pleasurable experience

The air-conditioning is very noisy which makes it difficult to sleep. We stayed in rooms 415 (21 July) and 305 (15 July) and air-con in both rooms is noisy. Other than that it was a good stay

Room was nothing like the pictures and there was no view of the city as advertised

The customer service was just so disappointing. I booked for 1 night including a $50 food voucher. We arrived at 9.10pm on the Friday night to be told the promenade was closed and to dine at the bar. Explained I flew in from Bali this morning to see my father who was on his last day or 2 of life & my daughter and I were beyond exhausted after a day at the palliative care ward, so could we please use our credit for room service. Was told no, so went to the bar to be told the kitchen was closed. Went back to reception to ask given the kitchens were all closed, please could we use our paid credit for room service to be again told that’s not the policy. Thankfully asking to speak to a manager, we were allowed to use. Unfortunately there was nothing gluten free so we ended up getting Uber eats. Booked another 2 nights as my father was holding on longer than predicted, but was told could not use that $50 credit that I paid in advance for because that was on the previous booking. It was all so disappointing that there’s no flexibility and that I wasn’t told we couldn’t use it as room service. Again asked to speak to the manager and finally they agreed to allow it to be used later that night. The hotel is lovely I agree. But the staff have zero interest in being accommodating. Nothing is open around the hotel from around 8.30/9 at night or I would have gone out to get food. And given they know this, it’s super weird they weren’t helpful, especially given circumstances.

Service level across the board was outstanding. Staff were so helpful and did everything with a smile.

On arrival the concierge was so rude, I have stayed in your hotel once or twice a week for months and this is the reception that people get .. disgusted will stay elsewhere

Waiting at reception.poor parking facilities. Undisclosed additional cost. Breakfast service like a factory canteen.

I had breakfast included however Stamford Grand advised it wasn't included and they would charge. I should be receiving a refund please.

Wow what can l say, the hotel is in the most perfect location, right on the beach. The room was spacious and the bed so comfortable. A special mention to the guys on the reception desk, they were so friendly and welcoming. On arrival we were upgraded to an ocean view room, was given a glass of champagne and because it was my daughter’s birthday, they sent up a bottle of champagne to her suite. Service absolutely outstanding, can’t wait to stay at the Grand hotel again. Thank you

The check in process was quick and the staff friendly who were very informative. Staff always available during our stay and responsed quickly to any issues we had. Thanks Stamford Grand for a great stay.

Fabulous staff.

Excellent stay, front desk was always helpful, room service prompt, and the same day dry cleaning service was extremely convenient. The views are stunning in the ocean view suites, and the location is so central to all amenities, shopping and attractions.

Easy check in, easy parking, our party of 4 was upgraded to sea-view rooms from city view rooms (both are fine tho), nice clean rooms, friendly service in a great location. Glenelg has a great Aussie seaside vibe, with a beautiful swimmable beach, lots of pubs, cafes and restaurants and relaxed family atmosphere. Easy tram ride direct to the city center. What's not to love?

Great location looking out to the beach with many eateries within walking distance. We stay here each year and will continue to do so. Staff always helpful and breakfast worth booking with the package.

Hotel is right at Glenelg Jetty and the tram station. Plently of shops abd restaurants in the areas. We booked the seaview and it was perfect!

Excellent location!

We have been to Adelaide 3 times and we always stay at the stamford. For us it is great location to airport and cbd, public transport , restaurants, beach all within walking distance. Watch the sunset over the water while having a beer. Good for work stay, Great for holiday stay.

The service in restaurant was very slow on Saturday evening and very limited food choices. We still enjoyed our stay and would use again.

Love the location and the Ocean View Balcony Room offer a very reasonable upgrade from Ocean View Room. The Promenade Restaurant, The Horizon Cocktail Bar was a great evening of bubbles, canapes and a delicious dinner. A great mini break.

The room and hotel were very nice however our experience at the Promenade Restaurant was very disappointing with over an hours wait for food and then very disappointed with the food.

Reception staff were very friendly and the room was lovely, very spacious and a beautiful city view. Parking was offsite but just across the road so easy access. The AC in the room wasn’t working properly but it didn’t worry us as the room was at 21° so not too bad. This was reported in the morning. There was plenty of options for Breakfast but sadly the coffee and the bacon, tomatoes etc weren’t hot - warm at best. It was only 8am so should have been hot. Overall a lovely stay and we would stay again. It was good value for money in a lovely location.

7\10 they have a lovely bed and a amazing view, room service and the restaurant were a bit slow but over all the hotel was nice.

Great hotel with all the 5 star service you anticipate. The only downside occurred at the food side of the package. Dinner was supgrest food but lack of staff to service was disappointing but the existing staff tried very hard. Unfortunately breakfast was no better. The coffee machine was broken and after finishing breakfast we hadn't received one

Room was lovely. Breakfast was poor. Poor service in Breakfast room and a generally shabby appearance there. Dirty tray containing cups for beverages.Cocktail bar was closed and therefore inaccessible for use. Surely guests should have access 7 days!

Breakfast was great, location was the absolute best. Just steps away from beach, shops, restaurants, train stop. Hotel staff were always helpful. Would stay here again. Thank you for a great stay.

Buffet breakfast was excellent and staff phenomenal. Needs a carpet upgrade at least in rooms.
