The hotel is dated but clean, there are not many amenities and the additional $15 per day “amenities charge” for parking, wifi, hot tub use etc. was an unpleasant surprise. Will likely not be back but nice to stay at this iconic venue even once.

Great location and views. Service and amenities were very convenient. We were able to borrow bear spray, umbrellas, and walking poles without a cost. Also free shuttle service downtown!

Staff at reception was very friendly and helpful. No elevator, so if you have big and heavy luggage, you'll need help from staff. Biggest negative was breakfast didn't start until 8am, which is when most of the Banff tours pick folks up, don't understand why they wouldn't start at 7am at least. No microwave in room but was able to take items to front desk to heat up for you. No ice machine either, so you'd have to get a small bag from the front desk that they get from the restaurant. Hot tub wasn't very hot and on a silly 5-minute timer. Ground around hotel pretty and had a nice view of the mountains on either side.

Really great boutique hotel, close to everything and the hot tub has mountain views. They service the hot tub every Monday morning which was disappointing as I chose the property to have a dip before I had to head out and couldn’t. They were great with receiving my feedback on that and had an incredible breakfast instead!

The rooms were quiet and comfortable and had excellent views of the mountain (either direction). We very much enjoyed the amenities, including the free ebikes(!), the hot tub that overlooked the valley, and the restaurant with some of the best views in Banff. Would go back all over again. Great option if you want to be away from the crowds and bike/walk into town!

While the overall property was quite charming, I feel like the staff could do a better job letting their customers know about the amenities both available and unavailable to their customers. First, no ice/vending machines in the hallways as is typical. They sent me to the on-site restaurant kitchen to get ice cubes. (weird). Second, there is no elevator in this hotel though it has multiple floors. I guess if you are handicapped, you are stuck on the ground floor. Very odd to see a modern public hotel without this basic disability-compliant technology. That said, it was very quiet here and the rooms are comfortable with great views of the surrounding vistas. We didn't eat at their restaurant so can't speak to that experience.

great spot - slightly removed from the business of Banff. Be prepared, they do not have a elevator (they certainly will help with bags and main floor rooms can be requested). The rooms could use a refresh. The view outstanding. They have free parking, use of bikes, will loan you bear spray back packs, and have a shuttle (we found very handy). We totally enjoyed dinner at their bistro. The service was kind, informative and attentive (amid a large wedding party)! Our server knew the area and had great suggestions of what we might like to explore. It was so special when he shared a personal white bear encounter he had a few years ago. We enjoyed the chefs cut - a 16 oz rib eye - done to perfection (well done for one and medium rare for the other). It was butter knife tender and seasoned perfectly. Roasted carrots (tender but no mush) and Brussels sprouts with birch syrup complimented the meal. The wine we chose wasn’t available. We chose a less expensive one - and will look to buy it at home. I’d recommend a reservation - although we did sneak in without one for a delightful breakfast our last morning.

Really pretty spot, I liked this hotel a bit more as it is further outside the main town. It was clean, good food, and quiet. The hot tub has a nice view, but it can be hard to find a good time to use it as it seats 4-6 and you may find it awkward to interrupt other couples when they are using it.

I have stayed in this hotel and as always staff are helpful and friendly. Since the hotel is a few minutes away from downtown, shuttle is needed. The shuttle service is limited and the time available is very limited. They only service between 10am to 6pm and very often not available since I think only 1 shuttle is available. Other than the limited service, the place has nice views even if the structure is little dated. Snd the staff are helpful and friendly.

The staff at the Juniper, along with the view is the best part. The rooms are nice and cozy. I love that they use warm lighting instead of the typical sterile hotel lights. There is an additional $20 facilites charge over and above your reservation price. The hot tub is nice but, it was pretty dirty. Overall, they are doing a nice job.

The bathroom garbage can and floor was gross as well as the mini fridge STUNK baaad. But otherwise it was a great experience. Staff were friendly, caring and kind. food at the bistro was amazing. I would definitely recommend someone to stay here despite those minor cleanliness downfalls because the staff is very accommodating to any problems you may have.

The Juniper is always spotless and ALL of the staff are courteous and pleasant to deal with. The Juniper Bistro is some of the best food in Banff with a view you can't get anywhere else.

We booked a family suite/room. The price was reasonable, location was good, staff and service were fine but the cleanliness of the room was not. The 2 wine glasses in our room were dirty, one was sticky on the outside. The room phone was very dirty, the white pillows looked unclean, either stained or not well washed, the mini fridge needed a good clean as well, and the side table in the room had a lot of dust on the second shelf, top of the side table was clean but that’s it. The room furniture is very dated, can easily and inexpensively be refinished to add some charm. The carpeting on the stairs and in the hallway could also be replaced, quite worn. I took pick it not sure if I can add them…

The staff was polite and extremely helpful. The bistro was great, we loved the food. We experienced a few problems though. Our bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly before our arrival. The bathtub was dirty and had a few pieces of hair around it. The room with a king bed only had one nightstand that felt a bit unusual. Also the carpet had better days, wasn’t expecting that at the Juniper. The heating system was fairly noisy, so we turned it off.

$20 Amenity Fee for the “free” parking, “courtesy” shuttle, “free” hot tub….?? Terrible coffee! Would it hurt to have a single serve machine with some decent brand of coffee? Had to call to get the lamp in the room replaced and the tv remote. If the towels was stained with what looked like blood. Room keys were deactivated before checkout time! Aside from a Smart TV, really nothing special about this property. Wouldn’t book there again.

The Juniper is a nice and quiet hotel however if I’m going to spend $500/night, I’d like my bathroom to be clean. I was very disappointed and grossed out to find a large hairball in the middle of the floor.

The property is adjacent to Trans-Canada Highway; traffic noise all night. The queen beds sank in the middle and seemed worn out. The bathroom tub/ shower/sink were dirty our entire stay. Room perimeter very dusty on carpet and tile. Bistro closed one morning for a special event w/1 hr window to eat; 2 dinners were fine; 1 breakfast was cold by the time it was served. The staff were very kind. We did receive fresh towels daily.

The view was amazing. The room was super small and not at all like the pictures. Being on the bottom floor wasn't ideal as we could hear people walking above us at all hours. Not having a pool or breakfast was definitely disappointing.

The view from the 1st floor deluxe room was spectacular. The only thing i would say that is a "negative" is how close all the rooms are to each other and you could see into the next room if you stepped out to enjoy the deck. Aside from that, highly recommend.

Location is very nice. Unfortunately the hotel is very old and dated. The rooms are just ok, and the washroom was awful. They need to renovate badly. Not worth the almost $600 a night.

We had a King Mountain View room. The view looking out is fabulous. The view looking down is a noisy highway. They also did not have blackout shades - so a lot of light came in. The rooms have a small balcony that is useful when standing, but the rail doesn\'t allow you to sit and look out as there are panels in the way. They have a shuttle (car with 4 seats available) to the downtown area which is nice. You have to schedule what time you want to return to the hotel, and those slots fill quickly. The rooms are dated (carpet needs changed, curtains are falling off their hooks, TVs are from the prior decade), lighting is horrible in the rooms with two bedside lamps that don\'t provide much light, and the bathrooms are quite small. Our linens had spots on them; however, they were replaced when I pointed them out. On the plus side: the staff was pleasant, the rooms had AC for those hot days, in room french press coffee, and they offered bear spray to "rent" (if you use it, there is a charge, if not it is free - we didn\'t see any bears).

Spectacular views from our room and loved the separation from town but easy access to all major roads. Staff were great and the food was excellent, but the pillows and bed in the room weren’t the most comfortable. Mountain view hot tub was pretty sweet too!

Everything about our stay at the Juniper exceeded our expectations. The location into downtown was excellent because you’re off the beaten path just the right amount. Loved the bikes, they are top notch and there are so many amazing places to bike to nearby. The restaurant—wow, amazing. The food and drinks are next level. The staff is absolutely fantastic. They are so kind, professional and friendly/fun. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Banff. One of my all time favorite vacations!

I rented a room months in advance and was given a different room without being told during the check-in, I received and email from the hotel after check-in saying the modified my reservation, and was only charged a difference of $7. The room I was given was one of the basic rooms and was not worth $7 less, that one was around $100(or so) less that the one I had reserved. Basically this hotel likes to scam people.

The Bistro service was not good at all, unfortunately with that view and the delicious food, we went twice and both servants were not nice. We booked specific table the night before and when we went to have brunch, it was full with other people. I mentioned that and the servant just said choose any other table that you like. I expect to hear that they are sorry that this happened and will be more nice. Even when we wanted to pay he left the machine and disappear, to the point that we could not wait more and left without even anybody say buy to us. It was weird that they mentioned that as the best Bistro in Banff, which could be if they would have better staff.

The location for this hotel is excellent! So close to downtown banff without feeling like you are in the hustle and bustle. You feel secluded in the trees but have an amazing view. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved using the Ebikes. A highlight of the trip. The lighting in the rooms is very poor. I hard a really hard time seeing to read with the little side table tamps. There was only a small ceiling light by the door. The rooms are a little cramped but well cleaned. There is no elevator for second floor rooms but those have the best views. They set out fed tea a lot, but we often wished they had a water option available more than just the mornings.

Beautiful property just outside of Banff but easy 20min walk into town, or there's a free shuttle available. They also offer free bicycles in the summer but those were not yet available when we stayed. We were upgraded to the Valley King and it was amazing to wake up to a view of the mountains and Banff. Supet comfortable beds and the Adirondack chairs were perfect for reading in the sun. Only con is there is sometimes noise from the highway, but much quieter vs staying in downtown Banff. Would highly recommend!

Juniper is away from downtown which makes it more difficult without a car as there are no uber services and you’re relying on their shuttle and Banff’s taxi service. Location is amazing for hiking and quiet reflection. Restaurant is excellent. Staff was kind and helpful. I recommend but make sure you rent a car or be ready to walk or take a taxi.

Staff at reception was very friendly and helpful. No elevator, so if you have big and heavy luggage, you'll need help from staff. Biggest negative was breakfast didn't start until 8am, which is when most of the Banff tours pick folks up, don't understand why they wouldn't start at 7am at least. No microwave in room but was able to take items to front desk to heat up for you. No ice machine either, so you'd have to get a small bag from the front desk that they get from the restaurant. Hot tub wasn't very hot and on a silly 5-minute timer. Ground around hotel pretty and had a nice view of the mountains on either side.
