Banff Aspen Lodge

Parking is a problem, breakfast excellent, staff great, hot tub was just a bit cool, other than that, great.

This lodge is ideally located, with complimentary parking behind the building, making arrivals and departures very convenient. Dining options nearby were plentiful, allowing us to choose wherever we wished for dinner in town. The only minor drawbacks were that the hot tubs had a noticeable level of chemical smells, similar to most indoor pools, and the steam room felt slightly dated with a mild odor. That said, we greatly appreciated the efficiency and attentiveness of the housekeeping team, who refreshed our rooms each morning while we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast downstairs. Every member of the staff was exceptionally kind and welcoming. We look forward to returning.

Great location right downtown Banff, with a nive coffee shop attached. Room was spacious and clean with a patio. Included breakfast was delicious. They also have a nice courtyard set up with a pool, hot tub and fireplace, and a steam room.

Newly renovated and very clean. Hot tub, steam room and Sana are great after long day ski.

The hotel staff was extremely nice. We had an ongoing problem with the key card not working, but in all cases, it was immediately rectified. THERE WAS NO POOL! It is a small and large HOT TUB!. We knew this when booking but many others, especially with children, were disappointed. The location was great. Breakfast was both American style and European and was very good. There was a coffee shop on the first floor which was convenient.

Very clean and recently refurbished, room layout a bit odd with two basins outside the shower/toilet room. Lobby area bright and fresh. Very nice breakfast with super attentive staff. Hot tubs and sauna within the courtyard are a novel offering and looked great.

Amazing place, great breakfast, underground garage, just get there early it's small. Close to restaurants. Would stay there again

Super clean rooms!

Deceptive photos for advertising the hot tub/fireplace which sit in the middle of a very small atrium. Clunky hotel layout getting to the rooms. Room carpets need deep cleaning. Blood stain in first room. Second room still had carpet spots throughout. Staff is very friendly and responsive. Really good complimentary breakfast. One washer and dryer for guest use (coin operated) - rare to find. Excellent location on Banff Ave. On-site cafe with the best latte I had while visiting. Room was comfortable and quiet.

Room was horrible- dirty, musty, humid. There was a stain on the bedsheet. We asked to move rooms and we were given another room which was only marginally better. Breakfast was included but they had a handful of meatball's, biscuits and old bagels. We didn’t eat there. I will never stay here again. Usually this chain is good but not this one.

Hotel and room are newly updated and very clean. I love the split bedroom layout - queen bed for parents and 2 twins for the kids in a separate space, each with their own tv. Room has a Nespresso coffee machine and an actual kettle (which has become rare).

We stayed as family and everything was ok. only the vents inside the washroom was dusty. hope staff will remove dust present in all vents. forgot to take picture, hence, no image can add in the add photo option.

The room and bathroom was very very small and only provided a tiny table with ottomen's for chairs. Not good enough for working at a computer. The refrigerator was very noisy making it hard to sleep. There was a notice saying if it was too noisy they would turn it off, a better solution would be to replace it. It is too expensive for the quality of room provided.

The room I stayed in was very different than the one advertised but, luckily it was better and renovated. The first floor faces the hot tub and it’s very noisy. I stayed on the 3rd, which was better. If you want to go to sleep before 10pm it can be a bit noisy. The walls are thin so you can hear people talking in the other rooms. Otherwise it’s great hotel, very good service and great breakfast.

Downtown Banff location. Great service and newly renovated throughout. Although the square footage of the guestroom is small, the space is very functional and the room felt larger. Our room had a balcony and the shower was the largest I’ve experienced in a standard room anywhere. The large double sink vanity was nice as well. Mini-refrigerator in the room as well. We would look no further if we were to come back to Banff.

The hotel is located conveniently close to the center of town, restaurants, shops etc. Staff are friendly and the hotel was clean and relatively modern. Having a pool, sauna and hot tub is a nice touch (albeit these are small and located very close to hotel rooms on all sides). Parking at the hotel was easy and free. The hotel included a decent spread of buffet breakfast which was included in our stay. The only downside is that the room was very small, so small that the front door only opened partially before hitting the bathroom wall which made getting in and out (particularly with luggage) difficult. Our TV also didn't work (though this wasn't a huge issue as we werent in the room often).

Great stay in Banff, walkable to all the shopping and food, free underground/street parking, steam room, hot tub and sauna are all available. The one bed rooms on the ground floor are super tiny and awkward though, so would recommend booking 2 double beds for a standard hotel room space. Staff was friendly, and free breakfast - actually pretty good - was provided.

This hotel is located a few blocks away from the main downtown area. I would say about a 3-5 minute walk. There are no restaurants onsite, but there is a cafe on the ground floor. You do get free breakfast every morning from 6:30am-10am. It's not a very big space, but was not full when we went on Labor Day weekend. You do get free parking with 2 areas to park. There's underground parking, which has about 20 spaces and gate automatically opens when close. Then there's parking available in back, with covered and non-covered spaces. Upon walking in, the lobby is not very big, but there are some seats available for you to sit at and there's an area with a fireplace with seats surrounding it. Check in was pretty quick and informative as they can also book your activities. The building has only 3 floors with a very small elevator. Not the fastest, but since it's only 3 floors, the stairs are an option also. They have a pretty good sized jacuzzi, a small cold plunge pool, dry sauna and a steam room. There are men & women restrooms and an area with clean dry towels. The jacuzzi hours are 9am-10pm. Most of the time, it was empty or maybe 2 people in it. And since this hotel isn't very big, it was never crowded at all. The room that we were booked in was a 2 queen street view. It came with a balcony, which we didn't use, with a couple of chairs outside. I am able to hear the road noise, but luckily, Banff doesn't get. a lot of traffic, it's tolerable. Very nice and spacious rooms

We stayed at Banff Aspen Lodge during our family trip to the Rockies in May 2025, but unfortunately, the hotel experience overshadowed the beauty of Banff. At checkout, we were wrongly accused of damaging the parking area, and $600 was immediately held on my credit card without proof or proper communication. We were not allowed to speak to a manager, and no one offered to inspect the damage with us. Our trailer was too small to cause such damage, and this was confirmed in videos recorded by both us and the staff. After several emails and calls, the amount was refunded — but not without serious stress, a disrupted trip, and a bank fee caused by the hold. I even had to visit my bank in person to fix the issue. There was no real apology or attempt to make up for the trouble. This situation affected our plans, our budget, and the emotional tone of the trip. For a family traveling with kids, this was a terrible experience. I do not recommend this hotel and would suggest booking with other properties in Banff that treat guests with more professionalism and care.

Property is nice, the staff that work there specially Joel is rude and discriminated one of my friends he said stated that my friend look different, I took that as disrespect and my friend heard it to. Joel thinks he owns the property but he is just a regular employee. I will not come back to this lodge also I do not recommend to my friends and families, and staff are not nice and not friendly.

The staff was extremely helpful, convenient location to the downtown shops and restaurants. The room was comfortable, breakfast was good, parking was easy. Shout-out to Joel at the front desk for all the suggestions on places to visit and restaurants to try out.

The hotel is cleaned all day all time. The breakfast is really good. The front desk service is not helpful. They made me come 3 times because of mistakes or things they have forgotten I had to sign/ pay. Parking is first come and gets full pretty quickly. I arrived at night couldn’t park there (when I was expecting to park there) and had to park in the street and pay 66 dollars.

Everything from the check in process to overall stay was great. Staff were so friendly. Will definitely be back at this hotel on our next Banff visit.

The staff went above and beyond to make a reservation for us when we were having an issue. He literally spent hours on the computer and then finally called the owner of the company and made sure we had accommodations!

Very happy with my 2-night stay at this location. Service was top notch. We arrived from the airport early on check-in day. Front desk indicated the room is not ready, but before I even asked, offered us the parking pass so we could leave our car there for the day while we went on our bike ride. The lobby is small but nicely decorated with a modern mountain cozy vibe. The on-site Whitebark Cafe is busy, delicious, and convenient. There's also complimentary breakfast in a separate breakfast room, which I thought had a really good vibe and the food was really good too. The location of the hotel is excellent, short walk to all the shops and restaurant in downtown. No complaints with the room we stayed in. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Excellent customer service we were greeted by Melissa, she was very helpful, our room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and we had a nice view from our balcony great location was walking distance from shops and restaurants.

The room was spacious, quiet and clean. The front desk staff were very helpful at times but then at other times were not helpful at all. One gentleman at the front desk told me to “look it up on the internet” when I inquired about a local activity and didn’t provide me with any information. Having a fitness centre in the building would have been appreciated. The provided breakfast was repetitive. Overall enjoyed my stay at the Banff Aspen Lodge and would likely rebook in the future.

It is so easy access to everything. We did a lot of hiking and the hotel’s location is easy access to restaurants, shops and even the trails, gondola ride. Staff are very friendly and accomodating. Breakfast is great and wonderful, cheerful servers. The hot tub and steam room is also a nice plus. Great way to have unwind after our hikes. Highly recommend.

Convenient location that was close walking distance to town and restaurants. Parking was free and onsite. Nice balcony overlooking the main street.

This is a great hotel with good perks for the price. We liked the free breakfast; they even gave us a packed breakfast (upon request) when we had to leave early for an activity. We also enjoyed the heated pool, free parking, spacious room and accommodating staff. The location is excellent and extremely convenient and walkable to Downtown Banff restaurants and bus stops.

I stayed at Banff Aspen Lodge and honestly had such a cozy, relaxing experience. The location is perfect just a short walk to the main shops, restaurants, and everything you’d want to explore in downtown Banff. The room was warm, clean, and super comfortable, especially after spending the day in the cold winter weather. I really loved the little touches the fireplace vibes, the spacious layout, and how peaceful it felt. Their hot tubs are a must-try after a long, snowy day. Nothing beats sitting in warm water while the air is freezing cold around you. It’s such a perfect winter getaway feeling. The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was a great bonus simple but good enough to start the day before heading out to Lake Louise, the gondola, or exploring the mountains. Overall, I definitely recommend staying here if you want a clean, cozy, and convenient place right in the heart of Banff. I’d stay here again! ❄️🏔️✨

This property is located in a very walkable area to see Banff which was nice. The hot tub, pool and sauna are very nice. The breakfast was pretty good. The fruit was canned but the eggs were good. The room was nice with a comfortable bed and pillows but the shower head was not good.

Property was very clean and room was comfortable and beyond our expectations. Breakfast was the best hotel breakfast that we have ever had. There was a good variety of food that was well prepared.

There’s a lot of great things about the Banff Aspen: renovated rooms, comfy beds, Nespresso in the rooms, super close to walk to downtown, hot tub and steam room, great coffee shop in the lobby, and to top it off, the breakfast is really great. There aren’t many hotels where the breakfast has a cheery staff that bring coffee to your table, where there’s fresh jams and butter on the table, and where it’s kept clean and organized in real time. Would absolutely stay here again.

Breakfast was great, but the room was way to small to accommodate all guests. If you did not arrive early and queue, people were waiting for 20-30 minutes just to get in. If you have plans, this is not good. Hotel and staff are pleasant and the location is great within easy walking to Banff town centre.
