Hotel Le Châtelain

Nous avons été bien accueilli. Le service d’étage est moins efficace. Les produits d’hygiène et le point de boissons chaude n’a pas été re approvisionné pour un séjour de 3 nuits. Le chauffage est très bruyant pour avoir une nuit calme. Il aurait été plus aimable de nous expliquer le fonctionnement du chauffage par une affichette ou oralement sans attendre qu’on perde du temps à chercher ou qu’on revienne demander à l’accueil. La personne en charge du ménage n’est pas du tout discrète pour un 5 étoile. Gros bémol pour le parking qui est de 35€ la nuit et avons découvert sur la facture un supplément de 9€50 par jour pour le voiturier. L’idée ici n’est pas de ne pas régler le voiturier mais il aurait été plus professionnel de nous annoncer le prix total et réel journalier du parking qui est de 44€5. Ils ne prennent pas en compte les bonus de statut hôtel.com

Lovely hotel close to city centre (20 min walk). Parking around corner but convenient. Rooms lovely, grand old hotel with nice bar on ground floor. Didn't have breakfast as many cafe around corner on main road and breakfast in hotel was ridiculously high (37 Euros pp!)

I can't praise the hotel highly enough! It looked and felt amazing yet the warmth of the staff made the stay feel absolutely relaxed and welcoming! We had a double room, it was very quiet, the room was made every morning. I loved the provision of shampoo, shower gell AND conditioner in the bathroom! Location is ideal, based on one of the most central streets of Brussels. If taking public transport, no matter what Google maps says, step off at Gare du Midi and take the tram, the stop is literally around the corner!! I used the gym, which was small but had everything I needed. I only regret I didn't try the breakfast and restaurant, as we chose to dine out. There's always next time, because we fell in love with Brussels and we know exactly in which hotel we'll be staying!

Fire could have been lit in the bar considering how cold it was, prices of breakfast and other meals were so exhorbitant I ate elsewhere, especially after the room service card I put outside my door for breakfast was not even collected by staff.

Very nice hotel with great services from receptions and valet parking. Room was clean and spacious. Bathroom was large. Breakfast had a lot of varieties and delicious. Very recommend this hotel

Generally a nice hotel with a perfect location in a vibrant area. Unfortunately the staircase was dirty, dull and with black plastic bags for the windows. We prefer to use the stairs and don’t like to use elevator. Staff friendly and helpful.

Very friendly staff, good location and spacious room. If you are in need of parking, the hotel only has 10 parking space, so be sure to book in advance. We used a parking lot not far away, but with limited space for the public. We were lucky to get a parking space.

Property was excellent and excellent location to visit local shops and lunch areas. Would stay here again indefinitely. Concierge team was extremely nice and helpful and the hotel restaurant is quite nice as well. I am a cigar smoker and it was nice enjoying a cigar in the early afternoon with a coffee and rum on the restaurant patio. 10/10

Hotel staff super friendly and helpful. The receptionist even let me park my big truck for free in front of the hotel as it did not fit in the parking.

Disappointing. Room had not been cleaned I had to remove hairs from toilet seat and rinse bath before taking a shower on arrival after a 10 hour journey. Coffee maker was not clean, bed-side tables were dirty as was phone/tv remote. Bathroom basin plug was broken and got stuck in the plug hole so could not use the basin! Room generally tired and dated. Aircon was set at 24c so room was way too warm for me and could only be reduced to 20c and very noisy. Complained on first evening, was assured everything would be thoroughly cleaned and addressed the next day. I reminded the staff at reception the next morning at 7.30am and on returning to the hotel after a twelve hour day out I went to the room and nothing had been rectified. The bed had been made and a basic clean but that was it. I then complained for the third time and they moved me to an upgraded room which was much better but still the phone and remote were not clean. On the second night they brought me a free glass of wine after my complaints. The staff were polite when I complained to them but it should not take to do so 3 times to get something done-no communication between staff. It was as though the room I was given was a room used by staff and not generally used for guests. It was at the end of the corridor next to the exit stairs. On my last day after check out I intended to stay in their ‘garden’ before leaving only to be told it was closed as there was a meeting taking place. This hotel is not 5 star.

Las photos no reflejan el estado del lugar. Es un hotel que no ha recibido mantenimiento en mucho tiempo, alfombras sucias y rotas. Olor fuerte de aroma artificial en los espacios parece querer ocultar olor real. Almohadas y colchones incómodos. No entiendo como tiene la puntuación como buen hotel. Me fui del lugar a la 1 am. No pude dormir.

Clean room and great staff

Le Chatelain is in a great location but the rooms and common areas are dated, worn and not the most convenient. I understand its an iconic hotel but it needs to be updated. The furniture in my room all looked a bit shabby and some had visible stains. The bed was a queen although there was plenty of room for a king. The room had lots of natural light but poor lighting for after dark, worse than candle light. I had to use my travel book light to work or read. There were no convenient outlets for charging devices of the modern era. I ended up unplugging the alarm clock and draping my laptop cable across the room to reach the desk. The shower was really small and had no place to put toiletries so they went on the floor but then there wasn't enough room to pick them up easily. I'm in my 30s and was traveling for Business.

We stayed at this property for two nights. The jr suite was very large, and the accommodations were nice. We were not near either of the most local train stations, which was a small problem, due to the strikes. It did work out ok, and we were able to get around, but it would have been easier if we had chosen a hotel closer to a station. There was a laundry mat about three blocks away where we washed and refreshed our laundry, since we were on an extended trip with a lot of travel involved. The one negative about our room was the inconvenience of not having an outlet to charge my phone on my side of the bed.

Central location, 35 minutes walk to Le Grand Place and the same to European Parliament. The hotel was very clean, beautiful good size rooms and very friendly staff. We loved it and would definitely go back.

It was a decent place to stay. Staff was very friendly. The only bad thing was the shower tub was too high.. you really have to jump into it

Upmarket hotel, but the shower over the bathtub has NO lighting so you have to shower in the dark. Also the hairdryer could be better . I've stayed at cheaper hotels with better lighting in the shower and a better quality hairdrier!

A really great room, possibly the best we have ever had.

The room had a window next to the street and you could hear the train all night long. The weather was very warm, and the fan wasn't strong enough to cool the room. The conforter was for winter weather. It was hard to sleep well with the noise and the heat.

Hotels need to invest more in hairdryers. The hairdryer was of such bad quality, that it took forever to dry my hair. It is a small thing that is overlooked by most hotels and is such an important feature. Also, i plugged in all my electronics to charge overnight, but when you press the master switch to turn off all the lights at night, it also turns off all the plug points, so none of my electronics charged. Huge oversight that needs to be looked at.

The toilet was small.

We loved this hotel for our stay in Brussels! The room was large with a nice size bathroom with a glorious deep tub that really hit the spot after a day or two walking all over the city sightseeing, also had a separate shower with great water pressure. All the staff were very kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Front desk staffs are excellent and super helpful. We almost got ripped off by a taxi driver, thankful that they had our backs

The hotel is in a great location, but is definitely leaning more towards dated. The price is somewhat reflective of this though. While is it more dated, the service is superb. Janis was very accommodating, friendly, and eager to help. Overall a really great location, great service, and average hotel room.

There was so much o Noise in the hotel I had to check out early as I was unable to sleep. Furthermore after requesting a refund the night manager agreed but as soon as I left the day team refused to issue it

I booked 3 rooms for a family of 5. They could only find 2 so I had to upgrade and pay extra. Later after I shared the hotels.com reservation number, did they find the third room. Despite their mistake they still charged me for the upgrade. Which I didnt need!

They charged dubbel for breakfast that was already paid for. Really bad attitude and service. I have been in +70 countries and over 200 hotels, this one was the worst.

The staff was wonderful, they went out of their way to help my sister and I with our train tickets and printing them out . Breakfast was wonderful and we had a glass of wine every night.

Room was clean, staff were very helpful and accommodating, shower was great, the room had everything I needed and if I needed anything else in the coffee station or bathroom, they would bring it. The neighborhood is great and has lots of nice restaurants and cafes nearby!

Stayed here during the Belgian Grand Prix and the service in particular was excellent. Big shout out to Salvadore the barman and all the staff on front desk during daytime and night hours. Really made the stay an experience to remember.

Séjour très agréable, chambre spacieuse et très confortable. Le personnel à l'écoute et très serviable. Bonne localisation géographique. Proche d'arrêts de tramway, bus pouvant conduire au métro en 5mn. Idéal pour un tourisme sans voiture. Proche des savoureux restaurants du quartier Louise ! En tout cas, je recommande +++

I had a nice stay at Le Châtelain overall. The hotel is clean and comfortable, and the staff were generally friendly. The room was fine, but quite dated. It was more like a 4 star standard than a 5 star. Location wise, it’s a little away from the main areas, but still decent if you don’t mind a short trip to get around Brussels. Nothing major to complain about, but also nothing that really stood out as amazing. A nice place to stay, just don’t expect full luxury.

Located in a safe and quiet area of Brussels close to a grocery store and some restaurants. I stayed here with my kids for 6 nights and the walk to the main square was too far for them to do by foot. We tried taking public transit but there wasn’t a direct route so timing connecting bus or trams often resulted in us opting to take uber for 15-30 Euros. Staff were very nice. The hotel is older, no casting options so we used our iPad. The one bedroom had frosted glass which was hard to get kids to bed if I wasn’t ready to sleep too. Kind of defeated the purpose of a one bedroom unit for me. I’d likely get a hotel closer to the train station or the main square in future so we are closer to the tourist attractions.

Excellent hotel at a very convenient location. Awesome, efficient and professional staff/team, that make your life easier.

This hotel was excellent value for your money. The front desk staff were very personable and willing to do anything to make our stay better. The breakfast was excellent. They even made me an omlleate upon request.

En déplacement qur Bruxelles, l'hôtel est bien situé, les equipements ( téléphone et Tv) sont assez anciens mais reste fonctionnel. La plus grande déception est le room service : nourriture surgelés, vraimenet inmangeable pour un 5 etoile c'est tres decevant. Le personnel est professionnel et compétent

Hotel non con i servizi di un 5 stelle che lo rendono deludente. Vergognoso trovare in camera il frigobar senza bevande di nessun tipo e neppure acqua fresca. Servizio cortesia a metà ossia in camera matrimoniale con un solo accappatoio, un solo paio di ciabatte, Phon in bagno stile motel, ancora quei vecchi phon a parete che usciva un filo d’aria calda, ho chiesto un phon funzionante e non ne avevano, stanza troppo buia con pochissime luci e se sbagli interruttore si stacca l’intera l’inea compreso le prese con il risultato che non caricano neppure i cellulari. Colazione molto deludente quasi assente il dolce con cornetti piccoli, pasticcino e una torta tutti e tre squallidi, molto scarso il poco di salato presente e ripetitivo, il tutto nel complesso non da 5 stelle, materie non di qualità solo due succhi e molto scadenti, caffè e cappuccino alla macchinetta ripeto stile motel. Vergognoso la garanzia che pretendono con la carta di credito addebitando tra l’altro anche senza autorizzazione e senza che ci sia bisogno di farlo considerato che nel mio caso avevo già pagato il soggiorno, avevo compreso la colazione, il frigo bar è completamente vuoto quindi non potresti consumare nulla, quindi trattasi di procedura insensata e ripeto, come tutte le precedenti cose, non appartenenti ad un 5 stelle. Per chi è abituato ai servizi 5 stelle non è certo l’hotel da scegliere perchè è molto ma molto deludente ed assomiglia ad un discreto 3 stelle. Non lo consiglio.
