Brussels Marriott Hotel Grand Place

We will not stay here again. The biggest issue was the room was uncomfortably hot even though the outside temperature during the day never went above 74 degrees Fahrenheit. The first 2 nights we were able to open our window which made the room cool but the last 2 nights the window was locked. Both evenings the hotel staff was unable to send someone to unlock the window saying they did not have an engineer on the weekends to unlock the window. We heard many people complaining about the warm rooms. How sad that a Marriott in the heart of Brussels is unable to unlock a window on Saturday or Sunday If you enjoy coffee in the morning with breakfast you will be disappointed if you are there when there are many people. They have 1 slow coffee machine for all the guests eating breakfast and the line was often long and in the way of other guests getting food. The elevators are not synced so people push the buttons on all of them. You will stop at many floors with nobody there on the way up or down. This is strange and unlike any hotel we have ever stayed at. The staff is very friendly and tries to be helpful but there is nothing they can do but apologize. We heard them apologize many times to many people during our stay. We stay at many Marriott’s around the world and this was this first poor experience. The hotel location is great and staff friendly but we will not stay again.

The AC was even after you set the thermostat and the elevators are slow and hot as well

Room very clean and comfortable. On one occasion when using the bar I visited the ladies toilet. Condition of toilet was quite frankly deplorable. We didn’t always get our tea and coffee replenished but I’m sure we would have if we had requested. Location is excellent, right in the heart of Brussels and within easy walking distance of the sights and pubs/restaurants.

Parking and driving to the location was crazy confusing. Would help to have more info on how to access the hotel parking garage. Hotel and staff were great!

the property was very nice, construction in the lobby was behind walls, so still very nice feel in the lobby but construction started at 7 am. Way to early for banging and loud equipment

PERFECT location! Many restaurant options nearby. Easy to walk to main tourist sites. Parking available through hotel - a little difficult to find but worthwhile. Tip: park on the lower second level! I’d stay here again! Good value!

The property is below the standard of any other Marriott I've stayed at around the world. Our missing and broken services did not seem unique to our experience. We could hear other people at the front desk, and calling in, reporting issues. The response of the staff to these reports was inadequate. The internet was weak, which apparently had been an issue for 2 months. My room phone had a message that could not be retrieved my entire stay. These are only some of the issues. Overall very poorly staffed and managed.

The fire alarm started going off at 9AM and we had to evacuate the building. No explanation was given other than active threat. Loud construction across the street also began at 7AM.

Great location! Breakfast was nice. Welcomed with Belgium chocolates which was a lovely touch. No mirrors or windows in gym.

Os quartos foram reformados recentemente, o que os torna super confortáveis e lindos. Nosso quarto era espaçoso e muito limpo. Os atendentes são simpáticos e solicitos. No geral, sem reclamações. Passamos duas noites maravilhosas

The rooms are clean and spacious, and looks like recently renovated . I highly recommend Marriot Brussels central plaza as your choice. Additionally you have the train station next to the hotel door and is easy to travel by train to another cities like Bruges. 5 💫

O serviço de quarto é péssimo e a limpeza é feita até o final da tarde. Toalhas com mau cheiro e visivelmente sujas. Não recomendo. Péssimo custo benefício.

Room was ok! Very noisy area, had a sewage smell in washroom, advised them and nothing was done. Had ask for a wake up call, never received a wake up call. Will not stay there again

Located in the heart of the city. But this comes with the price: noisy and crowded.

La chambre n’était pas tout à fait conforme à la description elle était petite, elle était censé faire 27 m² Excessivement bruyante d’une chambre à l’autre. Je n’ai peut-être pas eu la chance d’avoir des voisins respectueux, mais quand vous dormez à minuit et que vous avez la discussion de vos voisins comme si ils étaient dans votre chambre, ce n’est pas très agréable.

I had a great stay here for 2 nights last week. The hotel and room was modern, clean, spacious and a pleasure to spend time in. Dinner and cocktails in the restaurant was great, as was my room service breakfast. I found staff very helpful and friendly. Bed very comfy and hotel is in a GREAT location. Would 10/10 recommend. A far cry from the terrible Marylebone Marriott I’ve since stayed at!! Will happily stay here again when I revisit Brussels with my husband.

Pro: room was newly renovated, super central location Con: Air con stopped working in middle of night, got moved to twin bed room when we had booked a double. No compensation offered. Phone in room didn't work. Some drilling noise during the day.

The window in the room could not close completely so it was noisy.

Low water pressure in room on the sixth floor in the morning. Was not able to regulate the room temperature and the small window was fastened shut preventing ventilation. As a consequence the room was very uncomfortable.

I injured myself on the revolving door entering the hotel. The door just keeps spinning with force. My luggage got caught on the ledge. So the door kept smashing into me until I could yank out my suitcases. No one came to help. Just watch. A few guests saw and asked if I wanted to take their names and numbers and file a complaint. I didn’t bother. I told management. Nothing got done. I hope no one. Especially a child or elderly person isn’t seriously injured. It doesn’t work like that at other hotels. Also. The internet went down a few hours. Finally. When sitting outside on the patio with a friend they decided to take the chairs in at 9:15pm. I asked to let us continue sitting and was told that it’s. It possible. After taking away the chairs and tables the staff stood around and did nothing. Terrible service. I will never stay there again nor will I recommend. Over priced for what you get. 2 star hotel service.

Booking for 3 adults but third bed not set up at time of check-in, and had to be repeatedly chased. Facilities in room only catered for 2 guests and again the facilities for the third guest had to be personally chased. Not a great start

Tried to check-in to learn that they dont have my reservation although they didnt hesitate to charge my creditcard w/o a reservation.. They said expedia messed up, and sent us to another hotel, regardless it was not nice to have this experience when you vacation with family.

The account was prepaid through Expedia, after check-out they charged my card again. I have sent an email to the hotel with the payment receipts, but they have not responded nor have they reimbursed me.

This is an excellent hotel located right in the centre of Brussels. My wife was taken ill half way through our four day stay, the staff were excellent and went above and beyond their job descriptions to assist me in obtaining what i needed, they were polite and helpful, right down to the cleaning staff, all brilliant. Give yourselves a pat on the back

Pros Marriott is located in an excellent location, right in the city centre and very close to the grand palace. Hotel has excellent breakfast options and make your own waffle is an interesting option. Cons: Our check-in wasn’t smoothest I would say. A couple of staff at reception really need some training to be the face of a 4* property. Kaori at reception was not helpful and Nathalia is a rude person at reception. She made us realise as if we checked in a hostel or budget hotel. These 2 ladies definitely need some training on guest management and positive attitude for a Marriott. Parminder thankfully managed the situation exceptionally well and gave a resolution to swing our experience instantly from negative to positive. Thanks to Parminder, we had a good start of our stay in Marriott. Nicholas is also a pleasant staff at reception. Overall a good hotel in a good location barring the experience dealing with Kaori and Nathalia. My sincere recommendation that these two people are better off being moved to back office until retrained for reception.

The hotel is centralized in a wonderful area of Brussels. The staff at the hotel could not be more professional, accommodating and kind. The concierge service was impeccable and top notch. They assisted us numerous times with all travel opportunities since we had to visit other towns that are not as popular.

The service and staff was excellent, friendly and very helpful and hospitable. Will definitely visit here again and highly recommend staying here. The location is very central. The concierge department was 10/10. Charles Fouich in the food and beverage department was extremely helpful and his level of service was mind blowing and exceptional. Because of this hotel I will definitely visit Brussels again. Very warm, friendly, inviting and centrally located around everything.

Amazing hotel and staff! Breakfast is 10 out of 10. Location - can’t wish better!

Front desk was very good - efficient check-in and out and concierge was very helpful regarding helping me easily get to all my outings. The hotel is very well situated in Brussels’ Grand Place area and the subway, buses, trams and taxi stand are all a few metres from the hotel entrance. My room on the 6 th floor was very spacious and comfortable layout with excellent bathroom layout and best shower re easy to use hardware and water flow/ temperature. The 6 th floor was very quiet which I appreciated and the daily cleaning service was first rate. The main lobby is very tired looking and needs a complete redesign. Room service food was very poor quality and way over priced. The Restaurant Barcine sb shut down as its menu and service is poor and my croquet Barcine was served hit on the outside with cold meat and cheese in the inside! Latte was way overpriced compared to all other restaurants in the area. And their product line was very limited - no Perrier, no Coke of any kind. So great staff and location and room but hotel needs a renovation and the restaurant quality needs a much required rethink and improvement.

This hotel was fantastic and would return. Location is 10/10. Found breakfast buffet a bit pricey for what it was. Had better breakfasts in other hotels for a lot less cost. (But still good) Our only complaint would be a sewage smell present from the drains in the bathroom. Our first room was quite bad and they promptly moved us to another room. Still noticed it slightly in new room from time to time but not overbearing. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay here.

Right in the middle of the Brussel Central, close to the metro, all exciting restaurants and beautiful, historic buildings!!! The room temperature could be regulated better since the air conditioner didn’t work well. The Rotisserie is wonderful. The breakfast has a lot of choices but could be better. The staff are superb!!! I highly recommend Brussel Marriott Hotel Grand Central as a place to stay for vacation!

A great hotel, welcoming staff, and a fantastic location, just a couple of minutes walk to the Grand Place and the Christmas markets and with a great variety of rastaurants nearby. It is well worth having the hotel breakfast, the variety and quality of options on offer was brilliant.
