Pacific Hotel Cairns

Good hotel stay. Hotel was in really good condition, staff were great. Secure parking for $15pn is a bit of a stretch. Easily accessible open lot.

The hotel is nice accommodation with a good outdoor pool and convenient for restaurants and bars.Cairns centre however has no beach so you need a car to get around to see the beaches

This motel was probably one of the worst i have experienced in a long time. Out dated, dirty/stained towels and bed sheets, mould in shower, general untidy. wasnt until i arrvied that i found out construction was going on within the building. Started from as early as 6am drilling into concrete, even though posted that it wouldnt start until 9:30. Went to relax and couldnt even sleep. The hotel should have it stated when booking that construction is happening. Rooms have no soundproofing, private balcony isnt private. Room doors dont soft close so you can hear everyones door slam shut. Noisy hallways. Buffet breakfast not worth the money. Completely ruined my vacation

Very convenient. Close to a big supermarket “Woolworths,” and also takes a few minutes to the Esplanade Lagoon. We enjoyed swimming in the hotel pool, too and had a great time. Stayed 5days.

We upgraded our room from an executive king room on floor 3 to a superior king balcony suite on floor 7. The balcony and the views were amazing. The decor was a definite downgrade as the executive king room decor is far superior! The hotel is in a great location, close to everything. The pool is in need of much upgrading & repair. The overall decor of the hotel is a 3.5 the pool a 3 and the views a 5. The staff were friendly and helpfull. I would stay here again but only if the hotel upgraded the rooms and the swimming pool.

The AC was less than optimal but we find that normal in most hotels. They provided a nice powerful floor fan which was a great help. The bed was much more firm than we like. I do wish it hadn’t rained every day but that’s hardly the hotels fault. They did have umbrellas to borrow which was nice. There is a pool but no hot tub.

リーフフリートターミナルやナイトマーケット、ウールワースなどのスーパーや商業施設にもすぐ近くで子供連れの家族でも便利だと思います。フロントも日本からの到着便に合わせて午前中には日本人スタッフがフロントで勤務してくれてましたし、他のスタッフの方もゆっくりと分かりやすい英語で説明してくれるから心配は全くないです。 当日は満室でしたのでアーリーチェックインはできませんでしたが、荷物をフロントで預かってもらえて、フロントから階段上がったところにラウンジがありますのでソファーでくつろぐことができました。ラウンジの横にはトイレとパウダールームがありました。 ラウンジにはセルフのコーヒーが飲めましたし、電子レンジも用意されてますので日本から持ってきたレトルト食品を温めるのにも助かりました。 建物は築４０年で古さも目立ちますが、ハウスキーピングもシーツの交換は２日ごとでしたがタオルは毎日交換してくれましたし、掃除も綺麗にしていただいて、外出から帰るとほっとしました。マリーナ近くでコストパフォーマンスが良いホテルだと感じました。 ちょっとバスタブは浅いのと、お湯の水量が少ないので、お風呂として使うのが厳しいかなとは思いますが、シャワーなら問題なかったですよ ４泊させてもらいましたが、良い滞在になりました。 ４つ星、３つ星クラスから選びたい方なら、オススメしたいホテルです。

Lack of carparking is the only issue with this hotel.

The pool was great. Only they need to check pool towels as they ran out a couple of times.The girls on reception were excellant couldn't enough for you. Would most definitely recommend and stay there again.

The hotel had a great location close to the harbor as well as the bar and restaurants. The laundry facilities came in handy while we were there as well

This hotel is DIRTY! Our room was disgusting. I am completely okay with outdated but being filthy is NOT okay. Our vent fan was filled with dust, mold in the showers, gunk in the caulking of the tile in the shower. There was visible stains on the ironing board. The daily cleaning was terrible as well, didn’t even sweep the bathrooms. The towels were stained. I honestly felt disgusting staying here. I wish I would have read more reviews on this before booking. I’m shocked at the high review percentage honestly. The only positive was the location, that was excellent. Close to shops, and the harbor. It also said a free bottle of wine was included with our stay when we booked this room and when I asked for it, she said that she didn’t have it down for our room number and that it was an old promotion. I showed her our Expedia receipt that included the text saying that wine was included, she eventually did give us the bottle but I felt like I was begging for it. It was uncomfortable… A few very basic renovations… some paint, new caulking in the bathrooms, deep cleaning would go a LONG way here.

Really enjoyed the mould on the roof that you could smell as soon as you walked in and mould in the shower

A good size room is the only positive. Toilet had issues flushing & the room hadn’t been cleaned properly from previous guests. Very disappointing considering the cost.

Room was spotless and the staff were always lovely

I needed a clean and comfortable hotel room one night prior to a 7-day dive trip on a liveaboard. Pacific Hotel Cairns delivered nicely! The room was wonderful and the bed was so very comfy. It's located within walking distance to nearly everything.. restaurants, bars, coffee shops, etc. I'll definitely stay here again!

Friendly staff and THE best location in Cairns, super close to everything you need and just a 3 minute walk away from all the boats going into the reef. Easy access to breakfast with the buffet available downstairs. The pool is outdoors and the hours are not the most convenient (currently closing at 7:00pm). However, I was very disappointed with the housekeeping/cleanliness. The toilet was full of old pubes, mystery stains, and even small feces residue under the seat. All the towels we were given had questionable stains, the bathroom counters came off yellow after a single wipe, and overall pretty dusty room. The hair dryer was especially dirty and sticky and it took me like 5 wipes to get it clean. There was also mold on the AC unit and no heating available. The AC overall is old and has only a button that switches between "low, medium, or high" settings rather than any temperature or fan settings. Overall, although it doesn't appear too bad at first glance, I'm not sure how much I trust the housekeeping in general after a closer look. I would stay here again because of the location but I'd have to bring my own towels and cleaning supplies :/

One of the worst hotels we’ve ever stayed in. We booked the deluxe king with balcony, and the moment we set foot in reception, we knew it was a mistake. The reception area was very tired looking, toilets were not easily accessible and they were very dirty. The lift and corridors were old and dirty. Our room itself was very dirty, obviously hadn’t had a thorough clean in what looked like years. The toilet seat was bubbled and broken, there were stains/marks in the toilet bowl, hair on the floor. The shower was extremely slippery and dangerous. The sheets were stained and carpet worn and dirty. The fridge made loud noises all night. You only have control of the fan and on/off for the air con. So we either had to be freezing cold or boiling hot. The walls/doors/windows were paper thin. We could hear every ounce of street noise (even on 9th floor) and every sound and movement that other guests made. When another guest used the plumbing, you could hear it loud and clear in the room. If another guest was having a normal convo in the hall, it sounded like they were right in the room with you. This hotel is in terrible condition and terrible value. We paid almost the same price for the same type of room on the same day of the week a block up and it was a thousand times better than the Pacific Hotel. I’m normally a generous rater, but the only nice thing I can say about this place is the location is good. Definitely not worth the money we paid and so many better options nearby.

The room and hotel in general were spotless, and the staff were professional yet friendly. We had many meals in the hotel restaurant ---- each meal was delicious. The servers were charming. We did find two shortcomings: 1. No stand to place your luggage on. 2. No cupboard in which to store your clothing. Because there were no luggage stands, your luggage needed to be placed on counter space that preferably would be used to store clothing, purchases, etc. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Lovely room, great view to the marina and sea. Excellent location close to marina and many restaurants and the esplanade lagoon!

I was on the 9th floor and the view was spectacular. The rooms were big. I think a microwave in the room would have been good instead of going to the lounge, especially when the lounge is closed after hrs. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Great location, great staff, great room, great hoise keeping . Only fault is the wifi is completely usless.

It was a good stay, close to excellent but that is reserved for an exceptional experience. I think they should remove/replace the carpet. Shower was weird. There was no door to close and half a fixed glass door, so you felt like you had to be careful that the water wasn’t spraying out. Odd right? It was a great stay. Quiet, off the main strip but just a block from the action:)

I recently stayed for 4 nights in a ‘Superior King Balcony Suite’ Pros: Great location, walking distance to the ferry terminal and main tourist strip. Friendly staff. Cons: Staff couldn’t actually help with issues. I had a broken shower with very poor water pressure which I videoed and complained about on three separate occasions. A front desk staff member came to my room to video for himself and agreed it was a problem. It was not fixed during my 4 night stay, I was told there was no spare room to move to, no offer of any other solution or compensation. I had to go to a nearby salon and pay to have my hair washed after a day on the Barrier Reef. Noisy location with no earplugs provided- not ideal when busy touring to go out and look for some to buy. Dirty, old carpet squares in the 8th floor corridor, smelly, similar scent to cat urine. Banging, hammering and drilling from 0830am onwards directly above my room (noise recorded) despite signs stating these works would commence after 0930am. Upon check out I was not asked how my stay was, probably because the staff know how bad the place is. In summary it’s not up to basic standards and is overpriced.

Lovely hotel. Great staff. Rooms spacious and well equipped . Hotel near all sites and port for boat trips.

Hotel front desk staffs were unprofessional

Check in was good and kind with a female staff person upon arrival. She was kind and explained laundry options and made change for the coin operated laundry on even floors. No one offered help with luggage and I had oversized heavy luggage and I could only find stairs and no on offered to help me at the entry or to my room. At about 11:20 AM on checkout day I went to the front desk and no one was there then a young man with no name tag appeared to be in his 20s with the name S. a.u.L. he spelled it for me wouldn’t give me any additional time to check out and said I must check out by noon even though I asked if I could out at 1 PM. He was not professional or helpful or kind. He didn’t thank ask me how my stay was doing. I then asked for the manager and he said he was the manager which surprised me because he wasn’t wearing a name tag and he was abrupt in his tone of voice and not nice , I went to my room with my key and it didn’t work because they shut the rooms off at 11 AM for your key to work so I had to come all the way back down to the front desk where again there was no one at the front desk. I waited and he came back out from a doorway I handed in my key and I said it didn’t work I said, is that because that you shut them off at 11 he said yes and I said well why didn’t you ask for my key at 11:15 so I can get into my room. I asked him for his name and he spelled it for me if he’s the manager. If he is the manager he is not setting a good example for service.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pacific Cairns. This was our first time visiting Cairns, and we loved it. Pacific offered a comfy bed, perfect location close to lots of restaurants and tourist hubs and a great buffet breakfast onsite too. It's a 20 minute walk to Cairns Central shopping centre and the local railway station. Staff were friendly, and helpful. Would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a venue to stay in Cairns.

The front desk staff are very friendly and accommodating.

The front desk girls are not very nice at all. They need to learn customer service. The Indian girl was rude n not helpful. The shower has no hot water. I have to turn it on 5 minutes and somewhat there’s warm water then back to cold water. The location is great otherwise , worst front desk people.

The receptionist, pure gold

We had a traveler become sick on check-in day, and asked for our room a couple hours early so they could rest. We said any room, even if it wasn’t the type of room we booked, would be fine. The front desk said they would contact housekeeping to expedite a room, but left us waiting nearly two hours before we could check-in, finally giving us a room only about 30 min before the regular check-in time. I understand we were attempting to check-in early, but I have trouble believing that not a single room in the hotel was ready more that 30 min before their check-in time of 2PM (on a weekday no less). It just seemed like our needs and extenuating circumstances were not prioritized at all.

The front desk staff, especially Meredith, were excellent and extremely helpful.The restaurant staff including David were also very good

This hotel is perfectly located. It's close to the wharf, for all water activities and close to shopping. Restaurants abound in the area. A great bonus are the laundry facilities on three different floors, and a lovely pool area. The staff is excellent and very accommodating especially Saul. Highly recommend.

Great location! Easy walking to pier, waterfront and dining options. Bushfire restaurant at hotel a must. 1 km to train station for Karunda rail trip.

The property was very clean. Very close to the Reef Fleet Terminal for boat trips. There are many restaurants in the area. You can go walking. Friendly staff. We arrived early at the hotel, and they stored our luggage in the lobby so we could go out and explore the area before our actual check-in time.

The stay was fine overall. The room was small but worked okay for just two nights. Nothing particularly special, but it did the job. The best part is the location, it’s really convenient if you’re planning an early Great Barrier Reef tour since it’s close to the port.

Great location at the southern end of the Esplanade. Lovely views of the coral sea and rainforest. Room was ready early. Buffet breakfast is stock standard but totally fine ($25 for guests). Housekeeping did a great job. Would stay again. Very convenient for the Convention Centre and reef / cruise terminal.

We stayed there 4 nights in an executive suite and found the room very spacious, looked recently renovated. The bathroom was huge with double sinks a walk-in shower and a huge soaker bath that we made use of. Bring your own bath salts or bubble bath, non are supplied. We found the bed comfortable. Our room had a view of the carpark with mountains in the distance which was not great, but it was on the 3rd floor so did not expect much. We just closed the curtains and you wouldn't know. Nice large TV. We did not try the breakfast but did have dinner at the Brazilian restaurant which did offer a decent discount for hotel residents and was a very nice dinner. The location was very good. The boat marina was just down the road, the Esplanade was right there as was many coffee shops and restaurants of varying types and prices, all within short walking distances. All in all we found it a very pleasant stay.

Overall it was a good stay for my purpose. Most of the services are good except for breakfast. I was glad that I did not include breakfast in my package. I tried the breakfast buffet on the first day which make me decided not to go back anymore because it was not worth it. I rather go to the cafe nearby and enjoy my hand-made coffee with warm sandwiches. Other than that, location was perfect, staffs are very friendly and willing to go above and beyond to meet my needs, and facility is clean and nicely maintained. Petite swimming pool was a plus to soak some sun after 3 days of rain when I was in Cairns.

Returning guest. Walking distance to all tourist amenities, restaurants. galleries, casino and shops. Popular breakfast venue onsite for $20pp was enjoyed a few times. Hotel is popular with international guests. Onsite car parking at $15 pn was excellent and a spot was available every day despite limited spaces. Highly recommend the more expensive 2 corner rooms on each level on front of the hotel for spectacular views of cairns waterfront and esplanade. Service was adequate as we do not require daily service. Reception were helpful. No issues with our 5 nt stay.

My only complaint was that the 'hot' breakfast ( scrambled eggs , bacon , tomatoes , beans etc) were all COLD! Breakfast is from 6.30-9.30 - we were there at 7.45am. That was very disappointing for such a Hotel.

Great central location. Breakfast option was expensive but there are lots of cheaper places to eat near by.

This hotel is right next to the main tour check in area for most of the Viator and Get Your Guide tours. We had issues with the thermostat in our room. It would be arctic frost cold and then hot and humid. Kind of annoying, but we were out most of the day. With our Expedia booking, we were supposed to get a bottle of wine with our stay, but it was not even mentioned. Kind of a bummer, but it is what it is. My biggest issue was the dining. Save your money on the hotel restaurant. When we went, the breakfast buffet was kind of gross with runny eggs and a really small selection. We were really excited to try the meat dinner at the Bushfire restaurant, but I think they were more focused on it being fancy than on the flavor. We ended up going out to a Korean BBQ afterward and it was on point. Very safe neighborhood right in the middle of a lot of shopping stores. I was able to walk to the Aquarium and Uber from here was no problem. Staff were extremely friendly.
