If you’re gonna claim to be 5 star and book a full price pool view.. even the pool is a demolition zone, the spa is closed, the fitness center is closed, and the hot tub is a cold tub.. well that ain’t right.

Perfect location close to restaurants and right on the beach. Shopping centre about 20 minute walk. Three pool areas. We had suite 1 which is on the beach, would definitely return to Alamanda and ask for the same suite.

The best hôtel of my trip down under. A beautiful appartement by the beach, enjoying the spa treatments of very high quality (thank you Giulia). Friendly staff, very helpful. Clear instructions for check out. Extremely well located on the quiet part of the esplanade with easy access on foot to a great choice of restaurants. I fully recommend and hope to be back one day.

Best location in Palm Cove with beach access- older resort with good facilities and well maintained. We had a 2 bedroom beachfront unit on level 2. Bedroom one had an ensuite and large bed. Bedroom 2 had twin beds pushed together and a family bathroom across the hall. More suitable for parents and children. Tip for next renovation- We prefer a modern walk in shower in ensuite, rather than shower over bath provided in both bathrooms. Stairs can be annoying- no lifts- but older guests seemed to be managing. Ask for ground floor if you have mobility issues. Staff thankfully carried our bags for us. We enjoyed the vibe of peak tourist season and Nu Nu restaurant and walking to a selection of restaurants shops markets etc in Palm Coves beachside strip. There’s a small supermarket and a bottle shop walking distance behind the resort- or get a delivery from Woolies. Palm Cove is the nicest presented waterfront village in the area and Alamanda reflects this in their own presentation and styling. We 4 adults enjoyed our stay. Watching the life of the waterfront was entertaining- weddings, photo shoots, yoga every day.

What we didn’t like was the bedding and pillows. They were way too soft. Slept terribly while we were there. Some of the fittings were dated and worn too. Expected more for the price. But overall a good stay.

Had an excellent stay at the Alamanda which started from the time we arrived. Room was very spacious and had an ensuite and bathroom. We had the 1 bed suite with pool view which was convieniently located across from the pool on the ground level. Just be aware that there are no lifts so if you happen to have an apartment on the upper levels, you will need to take the stairs. Lots of dining options around which we tried a few during our stay (NuNu, Chill at Portovillo and even the Tavern hidden down a pathway). Will definitely stay next time and bring the entire family!

The good things about this property are the position and the service. The building is neat but needs to be updated.It is an excellent 70-style property. Old noicy ceiling fans. It needs a fresh makeover, not just paint. It is too expensive for what it is.

Will be keeping this as constructive as possible. At best the property is 4 star. The room I booked was one bedroom pool view and I was put in a two bedroom ground floor room which overlooked the fence of the pool, NOT the pool. Cleanliness needs to be seriously looked into. The room was extremely dusty and I started sneezing within 10 minutes of entering the room. It was quiet evident that the room had not been deep cleaned for a long time. The plant in the kitchen had a thick layer of dust all over, some of the sofa cushions smelt like feet, bed side tables and kitchen island was sticky, washing machine smelt like mould. Worst of all, one of the toilets was not cleaned at all and had marks all around the edges and the bowl and that particular bathroom smelt bad throughout. There were cockroaches in the laundry, geckos in the living room and ants in the bed. These ants were very tiny and kept crawling around our heads and face through the night. “This is common in Far North Queensland” is not an excuse and regular pest control should be the norm. Main apartment door wouldn’t close on its own force, bathroom and kitchen lights flicker and make a static noise, and water pressure in the shower is too low. Bedroom was missing a TV remote and bad WiFi. Overall it was disappointing to have spent over $1500 for a Birthday getaway and receive an average product. The location is beautiful, good restaurants around and away from chaos. Staff were amazing, Gabby was a highlight.

I was allowed early check in which was amazing. Rooms are beautiful and very clean. The pools are big, clean I think the best part was the really friendly , approachable staff and management. I had a wonderful stay and will be back

Excellent location in Plam Cove and lots of space in each apartment. The washer and dryer were perfect. The towels were subpar and the toilet and amenities are not at a 5 star level. But, great location and space for all we wanted to do.

Stunning location as always with great dining options nearby. Good room but misleading photos as was ground floor not upper floor with balcony. Disappointed the heater was broken in spa/pool and no urgency about fixing it. Needs to be working especially in winter months. Hotel chat system for service inquiries also not working. Not the five star experience we’ve always had here before.

Our second time staying at Alamanda was amazing and i cant fault the staff and their welcoming nature. They go above and beyond for their clients and the small personal touches of a box of chocolates and a handwritten welcome note definitely make the best first impressions.

Amazing resort on a great stretch of beach with tons of delicious food options. The resort itself had a very tropical feel to it and Palm Cove was a great beach that is an easy drive to Cairns.

Property very good. NuNu excellent. Cairns Aquarium excellent. Kuranda Butterfly Sanctuary has a sign outside saying open over a picture of a Ulysses Butterfly but after viewing when asked where they were told they haven't had any since 2015!! Mosman Gorge worth the visit.
