Good things: breakfast is very good, we really enjoy it. Not so good things: curtain in the shower is dirty and moldy (definitely it doesn't cost a lot to replace this curtains), jacuzzi is dirty (dirty corners all around the tab), sauna also looks very much used. Showers for males under renovation and it is no place for males to clean themselves before entering swimming pool and jacuzzi.

One night stay for government gig. Location very handy. Pool was shut which was disappointing and not communicated prior to booking. Hotel good, brekky good, staff good. Suggest having separate barista and breakfast signer-inner as that slowed everything down in the morning. Also 7am start is quite late for a week day so suggest change to 6.30

Staff were very nice and helpful. We noticed that no one was picking up the trays from room service. Room was dated with lots of scratches on the furniture. Shower flooded ever time we used it. Most disappointing thing was they change their guest $25 a day to park at the hotel

The rooms are large; the property is getting on but well maintained. I have marked them down because they claim to have EV charging but when I enquired it was access to a 240v plug - whilst I can charge with such a plug this does not, in my mind, qualify as EV charging.

The property is very old and needs updating. The room and property itself is very dirty and needs a deep clean. The room we stayed in was very hot & stuffy. The air conditioning was permanently fixed on hot and there was no window or sliding door to let fresh air in. It was that bad I had to open the front door for hours to let air in the room. We told the manager on duty and he came up to flick a switch next to the bed to turn the heated air off even after that the room had no air flowing throughout. We pid for four people to stay and each day they gave us only three towels- I had to ask for more towels. Three pillows in the room also- I had to ask for pillows. The mini bar did not get topped up after our first night. The sauna, pool and spa area needs updating. When we stayed there were no pool towels only a large pile of dirty ones. The dinning room down stairs was dirty. The carpet has stains in many areas and thick dirt scum in the corners. The legs of the chairs were broken. The coffee was excellent at the bar & the service was fast. Parking under the building and access was great. Overall the price per night did not match the accommodation expectations.

The hotel is in a great location and all of the staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately this is where it ends. The housekeeping department let the hotel down significantly. Within minutes of checking into our room I called reception as I wasn’t confident the shower had been cleaned. There was dust pushed up into the corners of the shower and shower tiles did not look clean. I had to call reception off my mobile as there were no numbers on the phone. We were moved into another room and provided drinks vouchers. Unfortunately the next rooms shower wasn’t much better. The shower head is very powerful and floods almost half of the bathroom. The sink leaks slightly underneath. On day 2 after being out our room key stopped working & reception had our room under someone else’s name but were able to fix this. When we returned it was obvious housekeeping has been as the beds were made but the toilet & carpet were not clean and our hand soap was missing. I had to call twice before housekeeping came and vacuumed. I asked again for soap. While they vacuumed my family and I waited in the hallway dripping wet having returned from the pool. There is no mention of the room window overlooking the restaurant so if you want natural light in your room you risk no privacy as patrons at the restaurant waved at my kids when I first opened the curtains. The air conditioning vent hasn’t been cleaned and month and it does not cool very well.

Room was not cleaned bins not emptied beds not made requested extra towels waited 2 hours for extra towels. Air conditioning was not working extremely hot in room very uncomfortable. Pool showers were dirty mould in showers. No towels I. Pool area had to request towels for pool. Parking excessive price. Charge on bill for dining incorrect as there was a charge for expensive drink we did not order on our bill which had to be removed. Very disappointed with the hotel as expected more as have stayed at Rydges in other locations many times and am a member.

I have mixed feedback from my recent 3-night stay at Rydges Canberra, where I also hosted a function. First, the positives: a huge thank you to Liz, Donna, and the bar staff – they were fantastic! Friendly, accommodating, and professional, they really helped make the function a success. On this side of things, I couldn’t have asked for better service. Unfortunately, my experience with the room service/cleaning was very disappointing. On the first morning, the bed wasn’t made, the pillows were left exactly as I had left them, dirty cups were not cleaned, and the bathroom bench wasn’t tidied. On the second day, the situation got worse: dirty cups and spoons remained in the room, the door sign was left on the floor, rubbish wasn’t emptied, and the bed was poorly made. I took photos to document the lack of cleaning, and several of my colleagues who stayed at the hotel had similar complaints about the cleanliness of their rooms. I travel often for both business and leisure, and I have never experienced this level of inconsistency in room service before. It seems clear that the housekeeping staff have not been properly trained in maintaining rooms to the expected standard. It’s a real pity because I would happily give this hotel a 5-star review based on the function team and hospitality staff alone. However, the poor standard of room cleanliness really let the experience down.

Rydges was good for our 1 night stay but there was not much cleanliness. The kettle was dirty,no tissues in tissue box,floor was not clean as well. The premises otherwise was good and presentable. Breakfast had quite good options and staff at serving was friendly. Overall we liked it jist cleaning needs to be improved.

Property was Filthy, everywhere you went it was dirty. Rooms were dirty, bathroom was dirty, pool was dirty, spa was dirty. Im totally fine with rooms and things being outdated as long as they are clean. I wouldnt stay again, if i wasnt going to lose my money i would have left as soon as i checked in.

The room was spacious with lounge and table for work. The bed was comfortable. Recent bathroom renovation was the best feature of the room along with the atrium view. However the internal heating could not be adjusted leaving me sweltering on both evenings resulting in total fatigue each day. A fan was offered but it was loud and only added to the disruptive sleep. Unlikely to stay here any time soon as the impact on work was unacceptable. An offer to move rooms could not be accommodated due to a high amount of bookings at the time.

For the price of the room is was very disappointing. There were water stains on the ceiling and is smelt musty. There are no powerpoints by the bed which is pretty standard these days. Arrived early to check in but rather than a system of SMS when the room was ready (again pretty standard practice) it was up to me to keep checking with the hotel. Overall average experience.

Additional $25 parking fee on top of the shown price. The room unfortunately had an issue with the temperature control system turning it into an oven. Reception said they would have an email sent to maintenance. After the 3rd attempt to have something done. A staff member checked and said it was turned off and it was like an oven, its now turn on to cool "give it 10 minutes and it should cool down, here is a drink voucher" which was a kind gesture. Unfortunately all it did was restart the heat. My Son had fallen asleep and it would have been too difficult to try change rooms. Needless to say it was a terrible sleepless night spending several hours opening up hallway door to allowing heat to escape the turned off unit. Very disappointed.

Overpriced for a dated hotel in Canberra. Dodgy aircon blowing cold air even when off. View out our window was to an internal corridor, so we had to keep blinds closed. Breakfast buffet was understaffed, many items unavailable and a pretty poor experience. Staff seemed disinterested.

On check in our room had a really bad odour. After goong down to reception, tje gentleman behind the counter firstly said there was nothing that could be done After arguing with him, he offered a room upgrade to a king with a sofa bed We were told, that we would have to pull the bed out. The room we had booked had two queens. As it was myself and my teen age daughter, all i wanted was a room with two beds. After another discussion, Eventually, tje manager came out and found the same room and out us in it. The shower was broken and the buffet breakfast was cold and it took 25mims for some items to be replenished.

The checkin process was a nightmare. After driving for 8 hours the checkin person couldnt even locate my name on the system. Trying to tell me i didnt have a booking. In the end i had to spell it out like M for Monkey etc. The staff were rude and overall unhelpful. Not exactly what you need with a 9 year old and an epic drive. I wouldnt stay here again

Check in was easy, the gentleman on desk went above and beyond to make everything pleasant for us. Upgrade to a bigger room and fold out bed put in without me asking or being charged as they thought it would make for a 'nicer night for you both'. All the staff were friendly and accommodating, answeing all the questions of my pre-schooler.

We were left waiting for 2 hours because our room was not ready, however the staff were very helpful and courteous. The room was nice. We had a good deal with breakfast and parking included in the price. We loved the bar, dim lighting throughout and pool facilities. We would stay there again.

For the money paid would expect more, Breakfast also not impressed in terms of quality and clearly short staffed. They were run off their feet and clearly not able to keep up. Given a long weekend management should be prepared for business and provide adequate staffing levels.

Good location near sights of Canberra. Great location to cycle to sites of interest. Room was sizeable comfortable and well provisioned. Shame the fan of the airconditioning was noisy in the quiet of the night. Otherwise we had a very enjoyable stay

Very well located on Canberra Ave, with Parliament house a short walk to the west, and Manuka Oval a five minute walk to the east. Plenty of eating out options on the nearby Kingston foreshore. The bar had an intimate feel even though it was located in an atrium, and the staff were attentive. The room was clean, spacey and functional, though the wardrobe units look a bit dated and in need of a refurb. Overall my stay was a comfortable and busy one, in a location that was easy to the major attractions.

Great, centrally located property, near terrific shops for All your needs. Marvellous staff & facilities, but remember to bring your AC / USB charger plug as older power points( surprisingly for me) dont have updated USB ported option. Used the back of the TV ...but only small complaint! Thanks.

The room was average, nothing fancy but the bed was comfy. Pool even though not on the luxe side it was warm and the kids loved it. Breakfast was absolutely disgraceful, no cups available for juice, no forks and had to search for a plate as well. The food looked terrible so I didn't eat and my son only ate two things from the buffet. Definitely don't bother paying for breakfast, just go elsewhere. Otherwise simple stay and was only for a night.

I ordered room service on the first night, unfortunately my discarded tray and leftovers were still outside my door two days later, i had to go to reception to bring it to their attention. It costs $18 per day to park there, on top of room costs. I put the card on my door to say i was happy with no housekeeping, as there was a promise of $10 per day food and drink voycher, this was not applied to my bill. The only breakfast option is the buffet, no option for a light room service breakfast. I paid over $900 for my stay and was quite disappointed overall.

Convenient location, fairly quiet location. Additional parking fees could be made more obvious on booking site. Room service is not available on Mondays and spa is currently not operating. No iron or board provided in room. More attention to cleaning of bathroom would also be recommended.

Room was great and facilities were good Dining options were not great, and the price was excessive for the quality of dinning. The steak I ordered was a Prime rib 400gr. The steak was not medium rare as requested and for close to $100 for steak, chips and a soft drink the price was excessive. The same meal elsewhere would have been half the price for the same or better quality Breakfast was good however and was included in the price of the stay.

First impressions of this hotel were great. The hotel reception and bar seem updated and the food was fantastic. But there were not enough staff and those who were on shift lacked a service-ethic. Breakfast should be avoided - the food is great but the system of self service is made chaotic by a lack of staff. Tables are not cleared, there were no plates, then bowls… it was the Wild West.
