Location, parking, BBQ, accom, very good.

Very clean and tidy. Access to a bbq was fantastic.

The standard queen room is a basic motel room. Mine was on the first floor. There is no lift. Parking can be tight. The main advantage of this place is the location. It’s close to Manuka shops and a short drive to the NGA, Old Parliament House etc.

With washing machine, oven and stove, and dishes. The apartment is modern and clean, a very comfortable place to live.

The staff were nice enough, the rooms were basic but get the job done. No issues. Be mindful parking gets full on weekends.

Need to know if it is 2 storey as there is no elevator, I have a medical condition and had to change to a ground floor unit, my request was initially denied but my wife sorted it out!

This apartment complex looks quite old but is modern inside and very liveable. The cooking facilities and utensils were very good.

It was okay. Air con was somewhat problematic as it was only in the living room and had difficulty permeating the bedroom. Any conveniences in the area require a drive or an Uber. My review is probably jaded by the roach that jumped on my arm while I was drinking coffee in the morning.

Happy with our stay recently, very clean and extremely reasonable in cost. Handy to everything but at an agreeable,e rate per night, would stay again.

The dirtiest room I’ve ever seen. Cupboards are falling off hinges, dead flies/bugs (including in the bed), dirty utensils, grotty oven trays, broken shower floor/tiles (I wore thongs)… The list goes on. Seriously outdated and needs an upgrade. The only good thing was the microwave and couch. I intended to cook which is why I booked our room type. But we ended up going out to avoid the room. We’ve actually booked last minute to go elsewhere for our second night.

I stay here for one night every 3 months so that I can attend a business meeting. I always find the staff very friendly and helpful and the premises is always very clean. The facilities in the room are adequate and the bed very comfortable.

Room had a bad smell that hit you as soon as you entered. The carpet was in terrible condition and I cut my foot on the strip between the tiles and the carpet. Curtains were not wide enough to cover the window which resulted in the room being flooded with the bright lights outside the room. The noise from the carpark below was constant all night and paired with the curtain issue resulted in no sleep at all. Never again!

Room was very dirty, stains on walls/furniture. Awful smell in room on arrival and flys in the room.

The staff were friendly, our apartment was clean & comfortable & the motel was central to the places we visited.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. While the outside of the building looked older, the inside was beautifully renovated and spotlessly clean. Great location, heaps of parking, comfy beds. We would stay again.

Hotel is okay. Charges $60 for 2 hour extended check out, which is a bit unusual in my experience. Rooms are hot on warm days and hard to cool with the air con as only in main area. The shower is poorly designed and drain doesn’t drain properly so it leaks a copious amount of water across the bathroom creating slip hazard. Kitchen well appointed.

There were elements that were great. The location is excellent. The reception staff were also great. The condition of the room and the facilities were not at a level that I would be able to recommend the hotel. Indeed, it is not likely I will return to this hotel. The Wi-Fi just was unusable.

Good for short budget stay. Wall is paper thin, you could hear phone conversation happening next room. Everything is working and functional. If you need budget stay in the area this is the place.

Poor soundproofing. Could hear the snoring and sounds of people going to the bathroom at night through the walls from the neighbouring rooms. A/C not great. Good location.

Completely disappointing stay. Arrived at the property after a 7 and half hour drive to find the one bedroomed executive apartment we had booked weeks ago had been "upgraded" to a 2 bedroomed apartment. Sounded great until we discovered the apartment - wallpaper peeling off the walls, no air-conditioning in the bedrooms, paint peeling off the ceiling, huge bugs flying around the room, terrible cooking smell from whoever had been in their last. No way on earth was this an executive level room - it was a downgrade to a basic room with a second bedroom that was disgraceful - we shut the door and never opened it - it was awful. To be fair appliances were OK, the bedlinen was clean and it was quiet - but we had specifically booked the one bedroomed exec room as it looked so good - we had a lot of choice in Canberra - as a couple we had no need of a two bedroomed room - we just wanted what we had booked. After complaining immediately on arrival at the room we were simply told - your room is having maintenance this is all that is available. You can have a refund and go to another hotel if you don't like it (it 7pm at this point). Staff had no interest in helping. We felt we had been conned - no way on earth was this an upgrade - it was a cheap and nasty room in need of an urgent upgrade and paint job. Throughly disappointing experience. Not at all what we had booked and no one cared at all what we had been forced to take. Will never be back.

For the price, Forrest Hotel and Apartments was fine. But I would not call this a 4 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. It was not clear to me that I needed to request a ground floor room since I did not want to be using stairs with an infant and a pram, so I needed to move rooms after I checked in. I was surprised that I wasn't given a ground floor room in the first place considering my booking clearly included a baby, or that the website didn't highlight the fact that there were no lifts to the second floor. Once moved I needed to be moved again as the second room I was given did not contain the amenities I had paid for - namely a microwave. It was suggested that I use the microwave in reception, but that would obviously have been impossible when needing to heat up bottles at 2am. So I was moved again. I appreciated that my needs were eventually accommodated but I was surprised I needed to explain these issues. The rooms themselves were very basic, bordering on small. The Queen bed was painfully soft with zero support, and the sheets were too small for the bed so as soon as you untucked the duvet cover the mattress was uncovered on both sides. It also took 3 days to get the soap dispenser in the bathroom filled, even though I left a post-it note attached to the empty dispenser each day. There is also a bit of a fight for parking, which I wasn't expecting. The location of the hotel, however, was great.

staff were friendly on arrival and were very polite. Checking in was easy and stress free. Property is very clean and unit we stayed in was very comfortable. Would stay again next time in Canberra.

Left 'Please make up room' sign at midday, returned at midnight and room had not been serviced. Otherwise all was good. Value for $ property, tired but absolutely fine. I'm sure the not making up room was an oversight...but our room was next to the laundry.

I arrived late and the manager there was very helpful and all went well despite a small hick up with my credit card. The room was clean, well set up and comfortable. Good value for the price point

Ideal location for our specialist appointment in Deakin. Hotel was easy to find with convenient parking. Takeaway meals were available onsite or a short walk to lots of restaurants in Manuka

Great location. Within walking distance of Parliament House and local Cafe strip.

It is prime location , very close to parliament house and lake . Manuka shops close too . Also 5 minutes from the city

Good position close to the Parliament and main sites south of the lake. Good price. Opposite a bus stop. Outdoor shared barbecue area.

Conveniently located in central Canberra. Room was well lit and amenities that I expected.

Clean and comfortable; pizza from restaurant was tasty and convenient!

The hotel room was clean and the staff were very nice. The free Wifi is pretty quick as qell. However, there is a door that connects to the next room that can not be locked. I've never felt so unsafe. The hotel also has a restaurant that you can not eat at you can only get eoom service or T/A. There is also a fee if you want to eat.

The room was perfectly adequate with a comfortable bed and a kitchenette. It was clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly. I did find the shower particularly small though. It was disappointing that I was told the restaurant was open as I was looking forward to dining in, but in fact the kitchen was only open for room service and takeaway. I was told it had not reopened after Covid which I thought was strange. I did order a meal and it was tasty.

Everything was wonderful except I ordered from the restaurant having read reviews but found it inedible..

Shame the restaurant was closed Sat and Sunday as very little food options around

The apartment room we had was recently refurbished and was very liveable. It had everything needed for a few days stay even though we only stayed one night. When did small hotels stop offering breakfast in this country? A retrograde step that is now widespread. Not even a “hotel biscuit” in this one.
