Long check in times, rooms are ok/average (no better/worse than other similar properties) but the parking situation is ridiculous especially since we stayed on the rugby 7s carnival weekend. The German pub and restaurant was a quick walk and quite nice.

The room is located upstairs, and there is no elevator for guests. We had to carry our suitcases up the main staircase and then climb additional stairs to reach the room. Unfortunately, the room was old and very dirty. I have never seen so much dust under a bed before—it was extremely unpleasant. The pillow felt like it had been previously used and not properly changed, with visible hair and scalp residue left on it. The fridge was also not working properly and felt more like room temperature. One positive detail was that the shampoo and shower gel smelled great. The price was also reasonable for one night. However, due to the cleanliness and comfort issues, I would not choose to stay here again.

The property was clean, and the water pressure in the shower was good. The bed was comfortable. While the rooms are small, they have everything you need. There isn’t a smart TV, but it’s a good place to rest your head for a few nights. This place has declined so much in such a short time. It was dirty, smelly and needs lots of maintenance. The pool, pancake maker, vending machines and tvs were out of order. The staff have scripts to explain these to patrons because they are having to say it so frequently. Staff were lovely and patient but surely their turnover rate must be high working in such awful conditions. There were ant infestations within the room. The showers swap between scalding hot and freezing with no warning. We were not given enough towels for the amount of people staying and had to request a blanket and sheets for the bunk as WHS prevents cleaners making their bunks. Spare blankets in the room were filthy and stained. While we stayed, a car parked in the apparently secure carpark had its wheel removed and left on a jack. The breakfast was lacklustre, cereal not restocked across multiple days. The teacups absolutely filthy and stained with physical particles caked onto them. The scrambled eggs pale and crumbly. The pool looks lovely, however was out of operation our entire stay and we were advised to try the Manuka public pool. This place is not cheap enough to be so bad. I hate to leave such negative reviews but I want to save other travellers the cost.

Twice asked for the room to be cleaned and restocked and twice when we returned in the evening it was NOT done. Room was very spacious, but the carpets were very dirty, don't know when last they were cleaned, let alone vacuumed? Staff was not very friendly and when I complained it seemed to me, they did not care. Location was excellent and facilities was good. TV was very intermittent, and we could not watch half of the programs. Water pipes from adjacent rooms were very noisy.

Has plenty of parking and easy access. Check in was quick and informative. Rooms are in dire need of an upgrade and a clean. Mould in the bathrooms is disgusting. Would only stay as a stopover when you don’t need a shower if it’s the only cheap option.

All staff with whom I had contact were friendly & helpful. My room was large & clean & for the most part quiet- any noise was from other inconsiderate guests- and annoying as that was, not the fault of the hotel. Airconditioning was efficient & in room tea & coffee was greatly appreciated. Room servicing was on demand, which I valued (no inconvenient disturbances) & cleaning staff were again attentive, polite & friendly. WiFi was excellent & hot water was fantastic. Breakfast & dinner is available with a limited dinner menu & an adequate breakfast variety.( cereal/scrambled eggs/bacon/toast/tea & coffee/croissants. Quality of some breakfast products was disappointing & below par (bread, jams,cereals) but overall it was acceptable, although not exciting. In the evening, the pasta dish was a generous portion size & very tasty. Fish & chips less so. The down side is there are no other amenities anywhere close to the hotel - no shops, laundry or cafes - which should mean that the hotel could consider providing at least 1 microwave for guest use & endeavour to ensure good variety, value & quality in the meals. There is a fairly frequent bus service, so 10-15 minutes will see you at a good range of cafes, restaurants & supermarket & the same service will also get you to the Parliament House precinct & the city. Overall I enjoyed my stay & as a standard class hotel, I recommend it

I stayed alone. The room has been renovated so it’s very new, and the bathroom is also very clean. The 24-hour reception is excellent. There is some noise insulation issue when people pass by or talk in the corridor, but I didn’t hear any noise from the neighbouring rooms during my stay.

Stayed in the superior king plus single bed. Really good size room, very comfy bed and large shower head with plenty of hot water with good pressure which was appreciated in Canbera winter. Only 4 TV channels working which was annoying given its an older gen TV and no option to stream. Parking was very full even through to rear patking lot (which needs better lighting and guidance as to direction to park as people were boxing each other in). Hotel is well appointed and maintained and is very good value for standard and size of rooms. Needs signage in hallways and stairwells that reminds people to be quiet as found there is no noise suprression/dampening and you hear every baby, child and adult talking in the common areas as people leVe early or go to breakfast etc so not great if you are a light sleeper or hoping for a lazy morning (not sure why people forget to be quiet when moving about so a reminder might help with that). Staff were pleasant and efficient. Is a great location close to restaurants and shopping in Manuka and the DFO.

We had a low battery smoke alarm beeping in our room and tried to get the reception staff to fix it - they came once and it temporarily stopped but at 2am it started beeping again and the reception phones wouldn’t work. Tried enquiring at reception in the morning and they said it’d get fixed but by noon there was no change. Back at reception everyone was on break. Eventually we did get a room replacement though which made it ok

The room was pleasant. The staff were less than pleasant. The TV did not work. I asked for it to be fixed. I was told it would be fixed. It was NOT fixed. When I returned from my commitment, after 10.00pm, there was nowhere to park, except in a back yard, a LONG walk back to my room.

The hotel was well organised and well run and the staff in the restaurant at breakfast were very obliging and were able to provide me with rolled oats required by my diet. Our only difficulty was in relation to a gift voucher from our children of $350 which they had purchased from the hotel which we produced on arrival at Reception. I had the Sunday before last also sent the hotel an email giving full details of the voucher. The manager at Reception agreed that they had received my email but had not made any reply. He claimed that he could not identify the voucher but as we had fully paid for the cost of the room for 3 nights, he would allow a credit of $150 representing the cost of breakfast for my wife and me leaving a shortfall of $200 in relation to the gift voucher. He did not offer to investigate the matter to satisfy himself that the gift voucher was entirely valid and issued on the hotel stationery with a photo of the hotel. Needless to say, we are very disappointed and to spare our children from disappointment we have decided not to tell them of the failure of the hotel to recognise and give full effect to their gift voucher!

My husband and I had the best time while staying in Canberra and especially at the ibis Styles. The hotel is close to everything and very near a small shopping centre if you need anything. The rooms are a little older but beautifully clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was probably the best service we have had anywhere in all the hotels we have stayed at. The staff were just amazing, very attentive and no reqest was too small. I would like to personally thank Nathan for support and making us feel very special, and especially going out of his way to make our stay something memorable. We loved the meals at night, not a huge selection but the portion sizes were great and the food very delicious. I would have to say the only negitive thing was breakfast, the eggs were horrible and tasted like dried egg. Breakfast needs a few more choices and would be great Again thank you Nathan and to the bar staff as well, they keep the hotel running smoothly and getting people to return.

I liked that it had a restaurant and bar so no need to go out if you wanted to stay in. We only stayed 1 night though the tv really needs to be upgraded to smart tv. As a family of 4 we wanted to watch a movie after a busy day but there was only free to air and then not all channels worked. Which was a disappointment seeing as the rest of the place was lovely.

We stayed 2 nights. I wanted to have dinner with a very close friend. I made a dinner reservation. When we arrived we were told that all menu options were unavailable and they only had pizza. As my friend had to meet his wife we decided to stay. I suspect the pizzas were frozen, and just reheated. Even then I think that there were 4 choices, but only 3 were available.

We stayed for one night on our way out of town. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient. Rooms were clean. The bathrooms could do with an update but for the price it was just what you’d expect and need. Breakfast had a good range of hot and cold foods.

It';s not a 4 star . No bedside light , breakfast food had run out by 8am , no info about wi fi or hotel info in the room .Tiny towels and only 2 , Sheer curtains in the bedroom so no block out curtains and also no privacy . Wax stain as in a huge hard wax area on the carpet about the size of a dinner plate as soon as you walk in . As we departed yesterday , the door handle to the main exit door came off in my hand ! This hotel is a disaster . Even budget hotels in Asia are better run than this . Also no real coffee. Most hotels offer the option to purchase an espresso. ....your 1 option for coffee uses powdered milk ...undrinkable . Zero stars . SO bad .

I stay at this hotel regularly as there is a safe area within the grounds to park my dog float. The room was very quiet despite being close to the noisy reception area. Once inside our room we couldn't hear a sound from outside - great for a good night's sleep. Check-in was very slow. One staff member dealing with a queue of at least 8 people as guests (including us) were arriving, taking about 3-5 mins per guest - much more for groups. It took about 40 minutes for the manager to get his arse out of the office and help out. The beds and pillows in our room were showing wheir age. Breakfast for the 2 of us cost $53. The food was standard, but not flash hotel buffet food, but what really let it down was PAPER CUPS AND WOODEN CUTLERY because obviously the breakfast caterers didn't want to spend money cleaning cutlery and glasses. I was really unimpressed with this cheapness.
