The hotel was extremely clean and convenient in a quite safe location with very walkable route to street markets and Night Bazaar which began at 5pm nightly. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. The property also has a very full breakfast buffet and the sister hotel right next door “The Premier Empress” has a nightly buffet that was delicious. The breakfast buffet area latter serves lunch and dinner. There is a great message place steps away. The pool was very nice and not crowded but it might have been because we were there in January. Although the pool was not heated, it was very swimmable. There is also a sauna and fitness room on the same floor. Upon checkout, the staff called an UBER like service for us which equaled to approx. $6.00 US. It was a lovely stay.

We were welcomed by receptionist called Lang. He was the most helpful and welcoming person in our 6 weeks in Thailand! We immediately felt we had a person we could ask for any concern. He would be amazing in a management position as he understands customer service!! Pool area - the umbrellas could be replaced as did not work properly and only shade in the area! Drinks at pool were reasonably priced. Pool water was a little too much on the cool side - could be a few degrees warmer. The lobby had an odd smell (musty) but the room itself was fine and very quiet with great bed. Breakfast area was crazy Tues-Sat as it serves those attending the conference center next door. Little things could really improve the breakfast (juice was warm as not served in machine or on ice, no coffee machine so coffee in pots get burned taste quite soon, most food was luke-warm not hot). Put Lang in charge and he would likely fix so many of those things ;) Definitely would consider staying again but would have breakfast elsewhere unless changes made.

It's a nice property. Has that regal feel with oriental design elements everywhere. it's a larger hotel vs. a botique hotel so they have many amenities on site, and it's really well staffed. Property is kept up very well. I thought the pool area was a highlight as it has a nice view of the mountains in the background. I really liked their green pool towels. I never see that color anymore.

Excellent value with nice big rooms. Gym is underwhelming. 4 treadmills but only one that was in working condition. Breakfast was lacking a bit for me as it had few healthy options. I would have loved a granola option, with nuts, etc. I’m sure it would be fine for most people. The pool was very nice and the staff was excellent. For the price I think I got a good value despite a few shortcomings.

Everything was very good. We have work conferences here sometimes. The hotel feels a little old in that they decided to stay classic rather than it is just rundown. It feels a bit on the line for that though. My reason for not giving 5 stars is that there is 1 physical key for the room. So if your spouse/companion/roommate is in the room and asleep, then you have to ask housekeeping to come open the door. You are also expected to leave the key with the front desk when leaving the hotel. The pool felt too chilly in the morning for me, and needed the afternoon sun hitting it for me to use it.

Thank you for a pleasant stay at your hotel. I stayed for 10 days in Deluxe and Executive rooms. The rooms were kept clean every day by a friendly and professional cleaning staff. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated in an old traditional style, which I like a lot, quality bed, sheets and duvets, maybe a little updating of the lighting system and showers would be nice. The reception staff were friendly and professional, treating me very well. The breakfast was excellent with a large selection. This is a solid and well-established hotel with a good location. The arrival and reception area makes a good impression, it is nicely decorated. There are four large lifts available that take you to your floor, the lovely pool area on the third floor has sun loungers and a pool bar, free towels are available, and it is connected to a great gym, with toilets and changing rooms. If you want to spend a day by the pool, there is usually plenty of space available during the day when most guests are out on excursions. The location, with plenty of space outside for taxis and transport, is convenient, just down a small road then to the right, you will find Changklan Road, which has many cafes, restaurants, and a lot of activity. After a 7-minute walk, you will reach The Big C market, which has a large supermarket, cafes, and eateries. Further along, there is McDonald's, souvenir stalls, and lots of other activities. Walking to the old city gate (Tha Pae Gate) takes about 30 minute

The staff was just fine. The room, however, is shabby and worn, desperately in need of a refit. Mold, stains, a musty smell everywhere. There is a ridiculous master control box for the room lighting, located on a side table near the bed. It has a glowing blue LCD display that cannot be dimmed or switched off, so it will light up the room like a drive-in movie theater unless you put a towel over it. Everything feels dated, they don't even have electronic key cards but actual bulky mechanical keys on a fob. Cannot recommend unless you're into a poor retro vibe from the 70's.

The hotel was great except for one major factor! The internet didn't work for several days, despite my reporting it nothing was done to repair it and when they did attempt to repair it, it still didn't work. Everything else was luxury in the hotel.

Our request for a higher level room was met and we had a nice view from our bright and comfortable sitting room. The room had lots of character and lovely decor. We especially liked the cleanliness and central location yet the stay was peaceful since th hotel is set ba k a bit from the main road. This hotel had nice touches - we received a welcome package with snacks as it was the Christmas holiday period. Very good value for the money. We would definitely stay here again.

처음으로 치앙마이에 방문하게 되었는데 엠프레스에서 2박을 하게 되었습니다. 우선 호텔 자체는 굉장히 크고 깨끗하게 관리가 되어 있습니다. 단지 오래된 시설임에 따라서 현대적인 인테리어를 원하시면 만족하지 못 할 수도 있습니다. 룸 내부는 사이즈가 넉넉하여 만족스러우나 침대가 다소 오래된듯 하여 스프링이 느껴지는(?) 느낌이 듭니다. 그리고 침구류가 포근하다기 보다는 다소 뻣뻣한 늠낌이 강합니다. 가장 아쉬운 부분은 침대 헤드 부분에 전기 콘센트가 없어서 핸드폰 충전 등이 다소 불편했던 점입니다. 조식은 다소 간단하게 제공되나, 맛은 있고 특히 과일이 맛있습니다. 스프류는 없고, 커피는 서버에게 요청하면 준비해 줍니다. 주변은 다소 황량하여 올드타운이나 님만에 가기 위해서는 택시 등의 교통 수단을 이용해야 합니다. 올드타운의 타패 게이트 까지는 걸어서 40분 정도 걸리니 참고하시기 바랍니다.
처음으로 치앙마이에 방문하게 되었는데 엠프레스에서 2박을 하게 되었습니다. 우선 호텔 자체는 굉장히 크고 깨끗하게 관리가 되어 있습니다. 단지 오래된 시설임에 따라서 현대적인 인테리어를 원하시면 만족하지 못 할 수도 있습니다. 룸 내부는 사이즈가 넉넉하여 만족스러우나 침대가 다소 오래된듯 하여 스프링이 느껴지는(?) 느낌이 듭니다. 그리고 침구류가 포근하다기 보다는 다소 뻣뻣한 늠낌이 강합니다. 가장 아쉬운 부분은 침대 헤드 부분에 전기 콘센트가 없어서 핸드폰 충전 등이 다소 불편했던 점입니다. 조식은 다소 간단하게 제공되나, 맛은 있고 특히 과일이 맛있습니다. 스프류는 없고, 커피는 서버에게 요청하면 준비해 줍니다. 주변은 다소 황량하여 올드타운이나 님만에 가기 위해서는 택시 등의 교통 수단을 이용해야 합니다. 올드타운의 타패 게이트 까지는 걸어서 40분 정도 걸리니 참고하시기 바랍니다.

This was a 5 night stay in a 4 star hotel conveniently located near one of the main night markets in Chiang Mai, within a 15-minute walk to Old Town and 45min to the NewTown. Rooms were comfortable but the beds are a bit on the hard side. The included buffet breakfast has very limited options and is not of 4/5 star standard, if you are a vegetarian then you are pretty limited. Really surprisingly poor dinner menu consisting of pizzas and a small selection of basic thai dishes. We were given a 'goody-bag' on check in which was a nice surprise and made use of the pool in the hotel's premier wing. Overall, staff were good but the hotel would benefit from an improved menu at breakfast and dinner.

Thank you for a pleasant stay at your hotel. I stayed for 10 days in Deluxe and Executive rooms. The rooms were kept clean every day by a friendly and professional cleaning staff. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated in an old traditional style, which I like a lot, quality bed, sheets and duvets, maybe a little updating of the lighting system and showers would be nice. The reception staff were friendly and professional, treating me very well. The breakfast was excellent with a large selection. This is a solid and well-established hotel with a good location. The arrival and reception area makes a good impression, it is nicely decorated. There are four large lifts available that take you to your floor, the lovely pool area on the third floor has sun loungers and a pool bar, free towels are available, and it is connected to a great gym, with toilets and changing rooms. I stayed in room 1412 and left something valuable behind. I have been calling and leaving messages to look into having my item returned. I've sent multiple emails and I have not heard back from the hotel. While I understand it was my responsibility that I left the item behind, it has been extremely disappointing that the hotel will not make an attempt to help me.

My stay at Empress Hotel was a most wonderful experience. Empress is located in a beautiful and safe city, Chiang Mai, and it's close to EVERYTHING. You can walk to many restaurants, and the major markets are all within a walking distance. The people of Chiang Mai are friendly, and the cost of living is low. The staff are so friendly and courteous. My birthday fell during my stay at Empress, and they lavished me with so many gifts! What an experience. I thank the staff for the outstanding hospitality.

I really enjoyed my stay the staff were excellent. The rooms were nice. The breakfast buffet was really good. A couple things I didn’t like was you had to pay to use the safe in your room. I also wish they had better dining options. They had a very limited menu in the restaurant. But other than that, my day was very good.

This is a fine 4 star hotel. It provides great bang foe the buck. The welcome gift is a very nice surprise. However, they need to upgrade the food. I had dinner at their restaurant, and the food took about an hour. When it came, the pad thai was cold and the pizza was dried up, leading me to think they were perhaps prepared elsewhere and delivered to the hotel. When I told the staff that the food was cold, the waitress heated it up using a microwave. When I later stayed at their sister hotel "Empress Premier" I noticed they offer same menu but the food was hot and fresh. I noticed similar quality difference with breakfast buffet also. Overall, staying at this hotel was still very pleasant, especially at its price point

The room was spacious, and so was the bathroom. Bed was VERY comfortable and I slept very well. It was also quiet, so no disturbances from traffic or other noise. This was a very lovely hotel, close walking distance to night market and other activities. Since it's not on the main busy road, it provides peace and quiet. I highly recommend it. I enjoyed having a mountain view room.
