What a fabulous place! Our room was spacious and clean, and the staff lovely and helpful. My son and I had excellent massages at the on-site spa. There was a lavish spread at breakfast. And as a pleasant surprise, we were able to cut through the parking lot to the Main Street where a night market was held. I would definitely return here on a return trip to Chiang Mai.

A 5 star oasis in Chiang Mai with wonderful facilities and staff. It’s right beside the night market. Only negatives were the less than ideal lighting in the parking lot and the temperature on the floor hallways. Both issues were being addressed after I sent them feedback.

Great property near nightlife. Daytime walking around hotel is dirty and sad, but that’s Chiang Mai. Good pool, could use more shade, amazing gym, nice staff, rooftop bar was beautiful. Great choice for a stay.

Breakfast buffet was excellent. Our “standard room” was huge and beautiful. We took advantage of the “tea time” and the “happy hour” which featured delicious little treats and an open bar. With all this - my favorite was the service of the well-trained staff!!! One minor complaint- the pool, on a typically hot day was very uncomfortably cold. Besides myself, I watched every guest be shocked by how cold it was.

This is an amazing hotel that provides top quality luxury and service. The rooms are large and comfortable with all the expected amenities. In particular, the roof top bar is a great place to spend an evening or to grab a drink after a long day touristing.

The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The lobby area is very nice to relax in. The facilities - the gym, spa - were great. Food in the restaurant was good too. My room was spacious. Overall a great stay and I would stay here again and recommend the hotel.

stay away, you've been warned, plenty nicer hotels, check in time is 2pm, i got there 4pm and they still made me wait 45mins for my room. room smelled of sewage, and when i showered, the entire bathroom was flooded. when i asked for another room, the female at the desk, wanted me to pay more money for another room. i cut my losses and checked out. when i went down to check out. (after asking for another room earlier and was refused and asked to pay more money) this front desk female had the nerve to ask me if she could do anything for me. well, its too late. if u had given me another room as i asked for. i would of probably stayed 3-4 more nights. but because you were more worried about making money and not the happiness of your guests, you lost my business plus potentially more business when others read my review.

I loved this hotel for its convenience, great updated modern design, amenities, such as slippers, robe, safe, water, on and on. Of course, they had amazing Thai hospitality from every staff member. Very quiet and they were able to accommodate my friend and I with nice rooms across the hall from each other. Unfortunately, my friend's room didn't have a good view and the window was frosted, apparently because of that. But we were in Chiang Mai to sight see, so not too much of an issue. We adored the nice quiet bar where we could order designer drinks and relax each night after 3 days of intense sightseeing. Also, I loved dining at the great Thai restaurant at the top of the hotel. Great service, and again, a quiet place to sit and talk and enjoy a gourmet dinner. Just steps away from the night market, and it felt safe to walk over there from the hotel (for two women tourists). The breakfast buffet was also quite extensive with choices for almost any kind of food. I was travelling from the US and my friend had lived in the US but is a Thai native. We both liked this hotel a lot and would stay here again. Firm bed, no pillow top, which would have been nice. Oh, and such nice touches such as how they bring you a fruit drink to enjoy while you're checking in. Full disclosure: My friend's room had ants on the buffet table. We did tell the desk person at checkout. He attributed it to previous guests with sweet food.

The property is excellent and in the central area, close to everything. All the staff members are very helpful and helped us with various recommendations. Only thing that the place needs to improve is housekeeping, sometimes they forget to palce towels, sometimes accessories, tea bags etc. Its like everyday something is missed.

I had a wonderful stay at Melia Chiang Mai. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming from the moment I arrived. My room was spotless and spacious, with a comfortable bed and a great view of the city. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of Thai and Western options. The hotel is also in a very convenient location, about a 10-minute walk to the Night Bazaar and close to the Old City.

I loved Chiang Mai and the Melia. My ONLY issue was the air conditioning. Even when switched off the ventilation system was noisy. It disturbed my sleep. I did report and for one night it was silent but the next was back to its noisy self. The hotel offered another room but this had exactly the same issue. If you have the aircon on at night it is not going to bother you. But overall would recommend the Melia.

Just steps away from the largest night market in Chiang Mai. The rooms are very large and very clean and newly renovated. The ceilings in the main wing are very low. I’m short so it didn’t matter to me but if you are over 6ft tall you may hit your head LOL. The staff were super nice. I would definitely stay here again!!

Førsteinntrykk ved ankomst er kjempebra. Gode parkeringsmuligheter på hotellet. Nydelig resepsjon og resturan på grunnplanet og mottakelsen er fantastisk. Vi bodde i den delen med 7 etasjer og takhøyden er veldig lav og dette trekker dessverre ned da en ikke får en romslig følelse. Greit rom med kjempegod seng og masse puter.

Very large rooms with lovely bathroom, big shower area. The mattress was extremely comfortable! Lovely pool & many options for a delicious breakfast. Location is very good, short walk to night markets. Would stay here again!

The room was huge for the price (King Premium), approximately 450 sq ft, which was perfect for us to spread out and sort / reorg our luggage. Bfast was a good selection and easy to navigate. Staff was eager and willing to help in anyway they could. There was a gate on the property to the Kalare night market, which also has a small Muy Thai stadium, It is a longer walk (1.2k) to the old city.

This is a gorgeous hotel - stunning presentation of food and physical surroundings. There are a number of strange things to hotel - architecturally has some VERY low ceilings. Your head brushes room doors and parts of the room ceiling if over 6'2"-6'3" and you need to duck in passages to gym. The service is spotty and a bit cold. Only one member of staff (Frank? in dining area) impressed us. Staff do not necessarily greet you or smile across the property.

Everything is good except that the staff is a bit penny pinching and stingy. It did not happen to me but i saw a young couple tried to bring a banana and a muffin for their late-rise child from the breakfast buffet, and a staff stopped them and said that's not allowed. For a 5-star hotel breakfast buffet, i think it's at least not friendly. When i checked in, i was told i will enjoy late-check-out because i had a long stay(8-nights). But when i checked out, they don't agree on this. Finally it's resolved and i didn't pay extra. Overall, the hotel is clean and new, walking distance to everything, it's nice.

Fell short of a 5 star hotel, having stayed at a Melia hotel in the past, however acceptable for the affordable price point. Room, service, amenities were a solid 4 star. It catered to large tour groups so service did not feel personal. Service was average, with staff not always the most helpful or knowledgeable, I expected more.

The Melia was everything we had hoped it to be and more. The staff, particularly the concierge team, were exceptionally helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was plentiful and had diverse offerings each day, and the rooms were spectacular. This was the perfect place to rest and recuperate after Bangkok, but a great location to also explore Chiang Mai and its offerings. 5 stars all the way! We will definitely choose the Melia when we return in future.

Ein sehr schönes und modernes Hotel mit einem sehr freundlichen und hilfsbereiten Personal (besonders Fluke war super). Das Zimmer war sehr gross und stets sauber. Das Frühstücksbuffet sehr abwechslungsreich. Die Lage ist super, man ist zu Fuss relativ schnell in der Altstadt. In der unmittelbaren Gegend ist es dafür ruhig. Der Abholservice vom Flughafen hat leider nicht geklappt, das Hotel hat dann aber die Taxikosten übernommen. Am ersten Tag gabs in einem Teil des Gebäudes (wo unser Zimmer lag) kein warmes Wasser, das Personal hat sich dann darum gekümmert, dass wir in einem anderen Zimmer warm duschen durften. Was wir nicht so gut fanden, ist die unnötige Klimaanlage, die im Speisesaal lief und den Raum auf gefühlt 15 Grad runterkühlte, obwohls draussen max. 20-21 Grad warm war. Ohne Pullover und geschlossene Schuhe konnte man dort nicht sitzen.

The hotel is amazing. From check in to our stay we were taken care of by the hotel staff. They helped us give information for things to do and helped book any tours that we needed. On top of that, the hotel is walking distance from the old city. The night bazaar less than 5 min walk and the East gate is also walkable. I would recommend staying here if you are in Chiang Mai.

I loved staying here! The hotel was perfectly located, giving me easy access to everything. I felt very safe throughout my trip and had an amazing time exploring the city. Being so close to the markets and experiencing the nightlife made it even more special. Thailand is absolutely beautiful, and I especially loved staying at this hotel during my time in Chiang Mai.

A beautiful hotel, in a great location. Rooms very clean, comfortable beds, excellent (the usual Thai!) service. We really enjoyed a relaxing stay here. Minor criticism: at breakfast (which was very good), the coffee machines didn’t seem able to make hot coffee (though once mentioned we had hot coffees made especially for us).

A true to form Melia hotel. Staff was very kind, room was very stunning with great views. The hotel is well situated to key items especially the sunday night market which was amazing. The tom yum soup from room service was absolutely amazing, probably one of the best ive ever had. Staff can be a little slow on responding to requests. We had to ask twice for laundry bags. The bathroom had a very unkind smell which we reported, i believe the cleaner came when we stepped out but the smell did not leave.

The staff here are well trained and most of them know english, which is huge. Breakfast is amazing. I didn’t like the prices of food and the cost of the draft beers I had. Would I go back? Yes, as it’s a wonderful place.

El restaurante de la planta baja tiene excelente calidad y servicio; solo demeritó el sky bar, solicitamos una mesa y nos dijeron que estaban llenos, si queríamos para el siguiente día debíamos pagar 4 mil THB y accedimos, las bebidas que están incluidas las sirven a menos de la mitad del vaso, pedimos unas brochetas de carne y pulpo que estaban muy malas, mucho condimento, y la carne con mucha grasa, además de que al llegar pregunté si podíamos sentarnos en una mesa y dijeron que sí, pero a los 5 minutos fueron a pedirnos que nos cambiáramos porque resultó que estaba reservada (si te dan la mesa, está pésimo que ya sentados pidan que te cambies a otra)

The Melia Chiang Mai is a cool and clean home after a day in the heat going to the wonderful temples and markets. Excellent room, first class service, rooftop bar, great pool with service poolside. Mai restaurant in the hotel is very good. Easy to recommend--excellent hotel.
