Blue Orchids Beach Hotel

The elevator to my 4th floor room was broken (not operating). The dining room is now run by a young couple who have an excellent chef who prepares excellent cuisine. I have stayed at the hotel for many years and always come back.

Beachfront and onsite restaurant, gym and swimming pools. I loved the balcony facing the beach and the kitchenette. Not a quiet place as the waves were very load.

Parking was challenging, not enough spots and the elevator was broken also gym didn't have enough equipments.

Excellent little property by beach with pool and access to sister property, Coral Mist. Low key and by bus stop which you can hop on to for access to a lot of the Island. St Lawrence Gap 10 mins walk. To walk along beach towards Hilton & Carlisle Bay about 45 mins walk. Bridgeyown 10 kins from Carlisle Bay. We are repeat visitors so don't want to say too much about this hidden gem lol rty Coral Mist

The property itself is the best. Perfectly placed, quiet, well maintained . The rooms leave a lot to be desired…the elevator was broken for the entire month and no repair in sight. Pillows and linens are old and worn. Kitchen is basics only if that, often in need of repair. The working staff were lovely and friendly.

The elevator was not working and we had to climb every day all 4 floors and even the Airconditioning was not working. I should get some refund because of that.

Fantastic location. Lovely staff. A little bit run down, elevator seems permanently out of order, and everything smells a bit too much like chemical cleaning products. But overall a decent place to stay at a decent price in a wonderful location.

My partner and I loved everything about this oceanfront property. We had a 1 bedroom apartment in late January. The rooms were spacious with a large, comfortable patio from which we could relax and view the ocean. Its a small, quiet hotel with a very efficient and friendly staff you could be on a first name basis with-front desk, housekeepers, restaurant staff, groundskeepers, concierge- all were wonderful. The quality of food and service at the restaurant was excellent, and the prices were affordable. We happily ate there several times. We ate out when resident friends took us out but my best dining experiences were at their oceanfront restaurant. The small fitness center suited our needs. They provided loungers, umbrellas and towels for the beach, which was only a few steps away from our room. The wifi was good and although we didn't watch tv, there was a nice selection of channels. It had a full service kitchen equpped with the essentials. Convenience stores, banks, boutiques, restaurants, St. Lawrence Gap and other beaches are within easy walking distance. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel.There were security guards on the property and lots of staff around to answer any questions. I was sick one day and they provided everything I needed for a speedy recovery. The ride from the airport was about 20 minutes. I wouldn't change anything about Blue Orchids. Thank you for making my hastily planned vacation a true hit.

CONS: The hotel facilities are a bit dated. Parking directly in front of the hotel and the street exit are tricky to navigate. No elevator for the block of rooms at the back. PROS: Terrific location - very convenient, safe. The room and utensils were very clean. Everything (A/C, plumbing, stove, appliances, etc) worked well. The view was fantastic. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Security was visible throughout the night. Checking in and out was smooth. Extra parking available across the street was easy to access. OVERALL: Another terrific stay at Blue Orchids and I would highly recommend.

When we checked in were told we could not get Wifi passcode and to bring all devices to front desk. A crib was ordered and they never was there and they had tomorder and said it was an addition 200.00 All three rooms we had had mosquitoes. Couch had tears and insides coming out. Bath tub was dirty. We took pictures and never stayed there and had to move to Courtyard Marriot. Horrible experience...Request a full refund on all rooms taken under Sundaram and Banik

Everything was great at Blue Orchids! Very happy with this choice - as there are a lot of options around. Best area to stay in as there is many food options around and the sea / beach there is lovely. First impression was how clean our room was when we walked in. We will be back!

Dated is the theme of this property. Although, great location and direct beach access. Nice to have a restaurant and bar in property but the girl in that covers mornings is not made for customer service work. Rude and seemed put out. If you plan to use the kitchenette, know that you will have to hit the grocery for EVERYTHING. Not a salt shaker, coffee filter or dish detergent to be found. Room wasn’t serviced until after 3 pm with a half-heart d effort to make the bed and didn’t replace any towels. This would be a great stay at a lower price point. Just not what I’d expect in this price range.

This hotel is not as described. Do not book here. I booked an 11 day stay with a king size bed and water views. When I arrived the room felt old and dirty. There was no king size bed instead it was 2 twin beds pushed together with a large seam down the middle of the bed (very uncomfortable). AC was only in the bedroom, not in the rest of the unit. The stove had grease built up on it. The tile floors were cracked, the elevator barely worked. The hotel was unacceptable so I asked the manager if they would refund me the remain days and they agreed. They refunded me the hotel/logging tax and said the remaining refund for the room would come directly from Expedia (seemed odd). I specifically spoke with the manger and asked ahead of booking a new room with another hotel because I did not want to have to deal with having to fight for a refund after the fact and want to ensure I had their approval. I have a copy of my receipt showing the refund for the taxes. I reached out to Expedia and have been told the hotel will not refund me. I'll have to take this issue up with the credit card company. Expedia did offer me $256 towards another booking which is ridiculous. This hotel was not as described and should be rated a negative star. Do not book here. You will disappointed.

So happy we stayed at blue orchids beach hotel. Room very comfortable, huge bathroom, extremely clean, overlooking the pool and gardens overlooking the ocean. Restaurant and bar staff so friendly and fun.

The lobby area was very small,dark and unattractive and we became concerned. We entered our room and were thrilled. The room was beautiful, large and clean. The pool and beach also beautiful. We had a wonderful stay

Needs to be updated. Wifi is only so ans so. Well maintained ground. Good AC and nice balcony. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Location is close to restaurants groceries and duty free shopping.

The view from room was absolutely stunning. Love that the beach is beside you. The fact that you can use the two pools. Everything was just perfect.

We loved it. Clean basic accommodation, pretty green garden/courtyard and pool and lounging area. Directly on beautiful Worthing beach. All rooms have wonderful balconies with an ocean view. Kitchenette was convenient. Friendly helpful staff, great location and value. Lots of food options nearby. Public transport stop is just outside hotel. Blue Orchid and Coral Mist while technically separate properties, are essentially two wings of the same hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights. The room was clean but the pillows were too small and not comfortable.

The toilet did not flush !!! Despite two attempts to rectify the fault we were left with no fully functional toilet. The room was tired and the air conditioning w could not be regulated. Originally told by Trisha that there were no other rooms but subsequently told other rooms were available but on 4th floor. Noise from the ocean meant you could not have a sound sleeping. I think a partial refund is in order. Hotels.com have allowed their standards to drop.

Location is what brought me here. 2nd time I’ve been here, but I preferred the 1st time because of our room was in better condition. Rooms are worn down and water pressure and temperature was a problem,hot water took at least 3-4 minutes to get somewhat hot. And the balcony was hot like an oven with no wind. But great location.

Beautiful peaceful garden and pool right on Worthing beach, Rockley 2 mins walk. Perfect south coast location, ideal if you have a hire car but also buses right outside. Off street parking. Our ground floor apartment was really comfortable and quiet, everything worked including excellent a/c. It was lovely sitting in our porch onto the garden. Good supermarkets walkable. The baths and a few fittings (windows) are tired and requiring an update. Very frendly staff though reception seemed a little distracted sometimes. Overall a great stay in a little oasis, would definitely come back.

The Blue Orchids does it mostly right. It\'s not the newest, but its well kept, friendly staff, price competitive, and located in an area along some of the most beautiful coastal views. The beach/boardwalk areas in the Rockley/Worthington/Hastings area is stunning. It\'s congested and area doesnt standout on the "street" side, but behind the property is just awesome.

We were lucky enough to get an early check-in by 1 hour. The staff is so friendly and helpful and do a lot to make you feel welcomed. Although we missed it, the Manager Cocktail Party is back! The location of the property is excellent; within walking distance to shopping, restaurants, bars and is on a beach.

Blue Orchids is the best vacation location in Barbados. The view of the ocean from your balcony is spectacular and you can walk to any and all amenities. Sure the property is a little dated and sometimes things break down BUT the dedication of staff (cleaning, reception, management, reservations and maintenance) is outstanding. They are pleasant and competent.

This was our first stay at the Blue Orchids. After spending 10 days here, we can understand why we met other guests who have stayed multiple times at the Blue Orchids. We found all of the staff friendly and helpful. Super location in the Worthing area. Able to walk to beaches, to restaurants when we didn’t feel like cooking and for grocery shopping. When too far to walk, it was easy to catch a bus. Will be back!

CONS: The hotel is somewhat dated. The exit from the parking lot to the street is narrow, with limited visibility and directly into oncoming traffic so drivers need to be extra cautious. The elevator is super slow and always stops on the 3rd floor even if that's not your destination - far quicker to take the stairs. PROS: Front desk staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful. Checking in and out was smooth and they went above and beyond to help with my requests (e.g. arranging taxis, foreign exchange, answering questions, etc). The hotel is in a very convenient location with public transit right at the gates and many amenities (groceries, restaurants, shopping, etc) within easy walking distance. Cleaning staff kept the room in immaculate condition daily despite its age. Having a full kitchen was very convenient for making quick meals. Kitchen utensils and toilettries were well stocked and everything (air conditioning, hot water, appliances, phone, TV, lamps, etc) functioned perfectly for the duration of my stay. The grounds were also well-kept. The area around the hotel is busy and well-lit and security and other staff were always visible on the premises so felt very safe coming and going no matter the time. OVERALL: I greatly enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone.

The worse hotel we have have ever been too. The elevator didn’t work so we had to drag our suitcases up four flights of stairs. The ground floor room offered instead did not have much of a view and felt tucked in a corner but we were told it’s an “upgrade” to the higher floor. The front desk person was beyond rude and unwelcoming. She did not walk us to any of the rooms were offered. Instead passed the keys and pointed the way which was unfamiliar to us and not accessibility friendly. When we mentioned our dissatisfaction, she thought it best to argue with us. No apologies were given. The bed is not well set up. It has the flattest pillows and “king” bed of two twin bed pushed together. The bathroom toilet is super noisy after being flushed. The kitchenette is poorly done as well with shabby looking appliances. The overall infrastructure is deteriorating. We give this 0/5 stars. Would not recommend. The worst customer service and overall experience ever. Not worth the listed price. Do not book here.

They staff asked me to pay the breakfast twice when I proved the payment had been already made by showing the bank movements. The staff was quite unkind. I had to pay twice as I had a flight to take and while was in the taxi heading to the airport, they called the driver saying that they had found the proof of the payment. This is not an unacceptable behavior.

Great customer service

Excellent ocean view room ideal for overnight stay 20 minutes from airport. Champers restaurant nearby outstanding for dinner and lunch. Tika bar nearby great for drinks.

My partner and I had a great time at Blue Orchids for my birthday. The staff were friendly and accommodated our late check-in. Property is in in need of updating, fixtures and decor are old for sure. But the beach front location and proximity to bars/lounges, Accra Beach, Rockley beach and less than 20 mins to Carlisle Bay and Oistins for fish fry, was perfect. It’s great if you have a car to move about (their small parking lot is a nightmare ) but a lot is also within walking distance. Would stay again.

A great little hotel with attentive staff. Location may be the only thing slightly off as it's quite far outisde of Bridgetown but there is plenty nearby to eat/drink.

The hotel is very good with a great pool area with plenty of beds, chairs and shade. It is right on the beach although getting in and out of the sea can be challenging depending on the weather. The sister hotel, Coral Mist, has a bar and restaurant for both hotels, however, it quite often closed at 4 pm when it is advertised to close at 8:30 pm. The staff at the hotel were very good and friendly. There are very good bars and restaurants close by.

Conveniently located to restaurants and on the beach. Limited dining menu. Pool was 'cloudy' and uninviting. Room fixtures dated and rusting.

Lovely hotel in a great position right on the beach & near shops and bars. The only disappointment was the bar never opened in the evening, no explanation

Forget about the hotel let’s talk about the restaurant now. Great the food is even if you’re not staying at this hotel, I do recommend taking a day to try either breakfast, lunch or dinner. It was quite tasty.

Very good value. The lunch was very small, and the restaurant was not open for dinner. All staff including Lindsay, Amanda, Chanel and others were just fantastic.

Dining options was limited, however, hotel was in walking distance for stores. Overall the say wasnt bad but could improve.

Loved this property. Right on a beautiful stretch of beach, ocean front room, very quiet, which I liked. There is a lovely restaurant onsite and the staff are so friendly. Overall this place has a really nice vibe if you're looking for a relaxing holiday. Lot's of places nearby as well to shop, go for drinks or a meal.
