Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel, but were quite disappointed in the failure of the air conditioning at the hotel. We brought this to the attention of the staff several times, and a service tech was dispatched to the room more than once in a vain attempt to repair the AC. While the service tech did what he could, and was very polite, the staff at the front desk seemed indifferent to our discomfort during our 4-night stay. Having stayed at Sofitel hotels in Athens, Greece, Washington DC, Beverly Hills, CA, and NYC, I expected more from this venerable chain. As a side note, the hotel was undergoing renovations while we were there, which resulted in a disrupted experience at the pool. On a cheerier note, we did utilize the spa, and thoroughly enjoyed our first Hammam, and a massage!

The location is wonderful- a few minutes walk to the port and Medina. They have their own private section of the beach, with table and beverage service. Could be slow at times but the food was good. The rooms are large but a bit dated. We had ants and gnats in the room. Would also have appreciated larger bottles of the complimentary water in the room. Pool area is really nice. They also have a fitness center. Staff were pleasant. I few tweaks to the overall property upkeep would take this to the next level.

Great facility in Essaouira with private beach access across the street. Very courteous staff and beautiful pool area. Breakfast is delicious. Probably the best place to stay in the area. Would definitely return.

A great hotel allowing to enjoy swimming pool sheltered from the wind, private beach club and small spa, all within 5 min of the Medina ! Room was large with a nice balcony. Breakfast had good option range and was ok but not great. The facilities would benefit from more maintenance but overall package was still worth the price.

Really super hotel. Staff amazing esp Ahmed at Beach Bar, Imad at breakfast and our chambermaid Nazah. There is some refurbishment underway but no impact to our stay and it’s good to see the investment. The hotel is ideally located with its own beach area and bar which we used a lot.

The breakfast is very good. Different type of crepes, pastries, jams, breads, cheeses, and local stuff. The service was very good, always with smile and respect. They had a restaurant close to the sea and their own beach. The only issue was that the indoor pool was not working which could be good for winter period.

A room with a balcony (sea view) was outstanding. Staff is really nice and helpful. Swimming pool was closed for renovation but to compensate they allowed free access to indoor heated pool.

Hotel en état de décrépitude avancée. Des travaux sont en cours, mais il y a encore beaucoup beaucoup à faire.(plomberie hors d'age et défectueuse, huisseries laissant passer le vent, télévision défectueuse.....) Personnel aimable, mais peu concerné. (Une semaine sans petites cuillers au petit déjeuner, etc)

The hotel is desperately in need of renovation. In fact, I would say it needed a renovation 25 years ago. Every tile in the bathroom is chipped, the room is dingy with dings and dents everywhere, the balcony has huge cracks and missing concrete. It is so bad I don’t think it should even be open until it gets a major facelift. The fact that they a charging full price for the state that it is in is beyond shocking; especially for a M Gallery Hotel.

Very blah hotel that is tired and run down. Good Location across from the beach. That’s pretty much the only thing it had going for it in my opinion. We ordered a sandwich for Lunch and watched the waitress walk across the street and get the sandwiches from the beach cafe nearby. We were ignored at breakfast. Room felt like something from an old casino with bad tile Floors . Would not recommend it.

A down at heel hotel in need of considerable refurbishment which is certainly not 5 star standard. On arrival at 3.30 pm we were told our room wasn't ready; when challenged we were told we could go to our room but it was not ready. There were housekeeping staff in there who left when we arrived. In their haste to leave there were no handtowels, the sink waste didnt work and there was an empty bottle and used towel from previous guests. The fruit and pastries were on chippped plates. Terrible service at breakfast, no information, we were not offered drinks, the food was limited and often plates needed replenishing. We found out be accident that omelettes, eggs etc were being cooked to order outside.

The breakfast was great. The service was fine. We are returning guests and will return again. Excellent location. The property is in transition, but it wasn't really a problem. The plumbing is a little strange, but not awful. The bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the view from our window of the sea.

We visited Casablanca, Marrakech and Essaouira. I wish we had more time. I think this property was the best: big pool, big bright rooms, ocean across the road, cheap taxi, relaxing atmosphere...Very lovely.

Nous avons passé 5 nuits dans la suite de Luxe, vue sur mer. Grande et belle chambre, literie confortable. 2 toilettes et une grande salle de bain avec douche et baignoire et produits de toilette Personnel très sympathique Nous avons eu droit à deux petits gâteaux aux chocolats (très bons) tous les jours. Ainsi que des fruits. Petit déjeuner plutôt varié avec de la confiture faite maison mais il manquait peut être de la pâtisserie marocaine. Nous avions un serveur pour le café extrêmement sympathique et serviable. Nous avons aussi testé le Restaurant de l hôtel en bord de mer, il a une superbe vue sur la mer et les Plats sont plutôt bons et variés.

Got one of the ocean view room and the view is gorgeous. Great location, short walk to the medina for shopping and photos. The room was spacious and clean. Although not an brand new condition, the upkeep is good. If we come back, we'd stay here again.

The staff was incredibly helpful at this lovely hotel... lending us a wheelchair when my aunt's knee went out. Breakfast buffet was superior. Their beach club restaurant across the street is quite nice and one of only a handful of eateries on the beach.

This was probably the best hotel experience of our lives as a family. Incredible hotel, great design, amazing (and large) pool (open round the clock), the best possible location in Essaouira, a short walk into the heart of the old town, and on the beach. But the best thing of all - is the staff - going out their way to personalise your experience and excel in customer service. Very very good. Great holiday.

Great hotel with amazing staff (everyone is friendly and willing to help). The 5 min walk to the old town makes it a great location for quick dive into the world of tasty Moroccan food. The provocateur beach front and the pool provide plenty of opportunities to swim and chill.

Our stay was at the end of a 10 day drive around Morocco. We were so happy to arrive at this beautiful hotel for a couple of days of rest after a long journey around the country. Clean, modern, right on the beach. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. Highly recommend this hotel.

Pictures of rooms are a little deceiving of room sizes, but the rooms are okay but a bit overpriced for what you get and its a "five star" the breakfast is never fully stocked ever, no plates, utensils or food options, the pool is small and very crowded and services are limited, definitely over priced for what you get and definitely doesn\'t feel like a five star so overall it was an average place, nothing special.
