Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich. Ich hatte mir einen Parkplatz reservieren lassen und auch dies gelang problemlos. Die Innenstadt ist fußläufig erreichbar, etwas was mir grundsätzlich sehr wichtig ist. Aber vor allem der ersten Punkt, den ich hervorheben möchte. Sehr nette Mitarbeiter

Had a comfy bed, clean and well-featured bathroom, friendly staff, and good city center location with much to do and many transport links. The outwards-facing windows were at the top-and-bottom of the wall, and a little small, so would've liked a little more natural light in the room during the day. During our stay, the hotel was being refurbished so there was construction noise throughout the day. Facilities being constructed looked nice though. Air conditioning in the room seemed hard-coded to turn off at 01:00am, which often meant waking up in the heat to turn it back on.

The reception on arrival was great and the service was excellent - by offering a drink and explain how the hotel operates. The hall (incl. breakfast room) has a home-like feel and has boardgames displayed. You can also play pool in the hall whilst having a drink. Also, you get two access cards to the room which is spacey, modern and clean. No noise was heard during our stay.

De locatie perfect. Je loopt zo de stad in. Ook de parkeergarage van het hotel is een aanrader om er even bij te reserveren. Klein minpuntje, onze badkamer stonk naar rook.

Gutes Hotel in guter Lage. Der Check in war problemlos weil online erledigt. Das Personal war überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war echt super. Nachteil… das Zimmer war sehr dunkel weil die Stadtmauer vor dem Fenster war und es wurde bei 3 Übernachtungen nicht einmal gereinigt. Allerdings wurden auf Nachfrage prompt frische Handtücher aufs Zimmer geliefert.

Thin walls so basically you hear your room neighbours a little bit too much. We had a room close to the stairs so we heard all other guests passing by talking and slamming in doors. However, the hotel is very good apart from that.

We found the room dark and oppressive with poor internal room lighting, black decoration and very little sun light sie to „designer“ windows rather than actually functional windows. However, the bed was extremely comfortable and the bath tub great.

Wie schon beim Bild beschrieben, war das Zimmer extrem dunkel. Um 8:30 Uhr war es dort noch stockdunkel. „Ausblick“ nicht vorhanden, sondern man schaut auf eine- vielleicht 1Meter entfernte- Wand. Solche Informationen sollte man fairerweise vorab erhalten. Zimmer wirklich klein und dadurch noch erdrückender.

Super Lage, Hotel etwas alt und nicht mehr auf dem modernsten Stand. Bad etwas dreckig (Dusche), Standardzimmer so klein, dass man den Koffer auf Bett legen musste. Zimmerpreis von über 180€ für Preis/Leistung nicht gerechtfertigt.

I got my payment card taken from my hotel room by the cleaning people. They eventually gave it back but no apology or anything from the staff. I was wondering if I can even leave any items in the their rooms. It should be a standard that guest items from the rooms should not be taken by the employees. The breakfast was good.

Bra läge, gångavstånd till allt. Sängarna något mjuka, och bäddmadrasserna gled på konstläderskinnet i resårmadrassen. Personalen var väldigt serviceinriktad och vänlig. Vaktmästaren kom och bytte batteri till värdeboxen omgående. Man erbjöd sig att hjälpa till med att bära bagage. Lite tråkigt med källarplan men å andra sidan var det tyst. Personalen gav oss ett bra pris för en natt till. Tyvärr ingen parkering för av- och pålastning.

Je was echt binnen enkele minuten in het centrum van Groningen, maar waren er ook volop mogelijkheden om andere kanten van Groningen te ontdekken. Daarnaast vond ik het hotel echt heel netjes en gezellig ingericht vooral.

This was a surprisingly good hotel. Ample water pressure and plenty of hot water for the shower, modern fixtures, etc. The service staff were very good/attentive, excellent English. Convenient location near the cathedral and the University hangouts. There is a big parking lot nearby, but I didn't have a car; the hotel is convenient (10 minute walk) from the train station. Perhaps it isn't this rowdy all the time, but I was there during Euro Cup (and the Netherlands made it to the semis) so there was a lot of late-night noise from the pub patios nearby, up to 3am both nights. It didn't bother me (I'm a sound sleeper) but maybe something to consider if you are in Holland during a major athletic event!

We were very pleased with our stay at City Hotel Groningen. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bathroom quite large. The breakfast was fantastic. The best hotel buffet breakfast we have ever had. My only request would be to put a sheet on the bed under the duvet. The duvet was extremely warm and in summer we found it too warm. Otherwise no complaints whatsoever. Would definitely recommend staying here.

I've stayed here several times before but it's standards have dropped. As an expedia VIP member I did not receive my usual welcome, nor was I given a room upgrade, nor given the free drinks advertized during my stay. The staff are friendly enough, my room was clean but small, the hotel has upgraded the checkin area, but singularly the breakfast service has dropped precipitously. They ran out of juice, cheese and meat on two of my days ( I chose not to eat on the third). I was hounded by different staff for my room number. If they paid half the attention to replenishing breakfast items as they do patrolling guests they would not have these problems. This is not rocket science it is a management issue. I will choose another hotel on my next visit.

Schönes Hotel, gutes Frühstück. Aber gerade das Frühstück war mit 18,50 Euro doch etwas teuer. Trotzdem war es gut. Zimmer hatte nur Aussicht in einen Hinterhof. War aber sauber.

Awesome breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, and rooms were quite nice. You feel like each room is a little different and gives you the loft apartment "feel" I would recommend staying at the City Hotel Groningen, lots to do within walking distance.

I slept very well in a quiet room with a comfortable single bed. The room was small, but I wasn’t intending to spend any time there other than to sleep. The shower was nice and hot and breakfast excellent.
