We recently stayed at the Kowloon Shangri-la and had a mixed experience. The location is absolutely fantastic, right in the heart of the city with easy access to major attractions, restaurants, and public transportation. It's perfect for anyone looking to explore the city. The food at the hotel's restaurant was another highlight. Unfortunately we only got to try the breakfast buffet but I must say, it offered a wide variety of delicious options, with fresh ingredients and excellent presentation. Loved the fact that it had a menu catering to people from all over the world. However, the service left much to be desired. The staff seemed to absolutely lack courteousness, hospitality and friendliness. There was absolutely no smile on their faces and the entire experience seemed very transactional with both the front office and the F&B staff. During check-in, there was a long wait, and the front desk staff appeared overwhelmed. The only 2 teams that were really helpful and made our stay worth remembering was the housekeeping and the concierge. The concierge and bell desk especially were extremely efficient and eager to assist. Huge thanks to Dante from the bell desk. Another disappointment was the size of the swimming pool. Never in my life have I come across a 5 star property with a swimming pool the size of a puddle. Overall, the hotel has a lot of potential, but the management needs to address the service issues and facilities to truly provide a great stay for its guests.

This was our fourth return visit to this fantastic hotel. Our party had three horizon club rooms. We can highly recommend this level as the horizon club hospitality is outstanding. We enjoyed breakfast and evening buffet in the lounge everyday and the food and drink were of extremely high standard. The staff Hayden, Max, Buddy, Cattie, Janis, Hebe Yau, Jessica, Kit, Elisa, Wing, Hebe Ho and Tony were very professional and courteous. They all worked hard in the 8 nights we stayed ensuring our drinks were topped up and all our needs met. We had two birthdays during our stay and the staff arranged two birthday cakes with cards and photos. This was an amazing touch and greatly appreciated by our party. A special thanks to Janice, Elisa, Wing and Tony.

Horizon club staff very helpful and friendly. Particularly Elisa, Kit and Wing. Cleaning of rooms adequate, but the sink overflows in the bathrooms were quite dirty and off putting. Floor in toilet next to kitchen had a mark on it which was there when we arrived and stayed there the whole 5 days we were accommodated. Could do with a bin in kitchenette area for food waste etc.

This was my first stay in Hong Kong, and the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel made it a memorable one. It's a hotel I'd definitely choose again for my next visit to Hong Kong. Guest Room: The room was spacious. It was cleaned thoroughly every day. Not only the guest rooms, but the corridors and lobby were always spotless and had a pleasant fragrance. Location: Walking underground from Tsim Sha Tsui Station and exiting via P1 brings you directly in front of the hotel. It takes about 8 minutes walking underground from tke station, but being connected underground made it convenient on both hot and rainy days. Furthermore, with the sea right in front, walking back along the waterfront after shopping while enjoying the night view was a particular pleasure. Staff: The reception staff, housekeeping staff, and café staff were all very kind.

The most disturbing and unsatisfactory experience for us is that our room is located right next to the three elevators. We can not help but heard the elevator’s ups and downs back noises all day long particularly during night it’s so hard to keep sleeping well. I have shared this concern with a front desk staff, and I hope no one would incur a similar unpleasant experience as we had.

This is a very nice hotel. Check-in and check-out were both a hassle. At 17.00 my room wasn't ready and although I was given a free drink from the bar, it was for non-alcoholic drinks - given my long travel, I wanted a beer. The check-out line was extremely long and had to wait in line so long I got nervous about missing my flight. The check-in process is really cumbersome and the hotel should consider some way to segregate check-out. There was very few staff at the lobby area bar / sitting area making even getting a cup of tea a long tedious process. For the price of the rooms, I expected better. It was very clean.

Fantastic service. Staff were attentive and constantly keeping the room neat (they even arranged and neatly organized my cables). Rooms were stocked with various teas that I really enjoyed having on-hand in the mornings and evenings. Harbor view was incredible at night.

The hotel is conveniently located in Kowloon next to the metro and conned to a walking bridge to get to the walkway around the bay with fantastic views and points of interests. A 15-minute pleasure walk along the bay will get you to the ferry terminal to go to Hong Kong central side across the bay.

The staff at Shanghai-La went over and above to help us book our ferry tickets to Shekou, China. The breakfast buffet was fantastic! And at our dinner with guests at Shang Palace we highly enjoyed the delicious, creative cuisine and top notch service. Thank you!

One of the best hotels i have ever stayed at, breakfast was expensive so we did not eat there but went to Delaneys about 8 minutes walk away and had a full English/Irish breakfast for about £10 about a third of the price of the hotel, otherwise could not fault it for service and location.

the only concern I have is the service at the chinese dessert lounge. the service was not really up to standard. I could see all waiting staff were quite busy, covering a large service area, but they all walked with eyes looking straight ahead, ignoring guests trying to get their attention. It took more than 15 mins before we got service after sitting down and having hard time to get someone to give us the bill. Other than this, very satisfy with my stay.
