Bluegreen Vacations Shenandoah Crossing, an Ascend Collection Resort

This was one of the most beautiful properties i have stayed at. There is so much to do especially for families. Loved the equestrian center and the arts and crafts. Pools were great. Arcade was cool. Food and drinks wonderful. General store had everything you need. Will definitely be back!

Upon arrival I was charged an additional $160 on top of an advertised price of $189 which was unexpected. We chose this location based on the pools and amenities for families, the indoor pool was under construction, and the outdoor pools and activities were closed due to heat lighting. The neighboring room was very noisy until 1am, so not the best stay like we were hoping.

Beautiful view of the Lake. Fished from the bank, went horseback riding and used the fitness facilities. Everything was well maintained, cabin was clean with updated kitchen and bathroom. Will plan to come again!

Loved the surroundings; lake, forest, pools marina, and stables. Music & fireworks over the lake on 7/5 were wonderful. Only negatives is restaurant on site just served breakfast Fri.-Sun. and did not serve wine, beer or spirits during dinner. Also indoor pool & hot tub were down being repaired. Would have liked to go in during Thurs. eve rain. Staff was friendly and helpful. Fancy espresso maker in lobby; I would have preferred one that made decaf and regular.

Hot tub not in order. Pool heater broken and not available. and the room smelled like mold. They did have a ton of activities for the kids but i was looking forward to the hot tib and pool...so. yeah...

Wonderful getaway, cabins perfect for relaxation and spending time with family. Pools and activities provide hours of enjoyment. Staff friendly and welcoming, looking forward to visiting again.

The only disappointment I had was that the indoor pool was not available.

The good: My sister and her husband have stayed at the Lodge every summer for years, and talked me into bringing my kids to join them. We stayed for two weeknights in mid July. Rooms seemed clean and recently updated, but oddly no chairs. In general, the staff was friendly and helpful...until there was a problem. Golf carts were fun. We stopped to see a huge bear crossing the road and field while driving to a restaurant off of the resort. The bad: 100 degree weather during our stay. Indoor pool, splash zone, and mini golf were all closed for the entire stay. Pool at Lodge had no shade other than table umbrellas. Family pool was very warm...gross. Restaurant at the Lodge looked permanently closed, but was open. The bar, void of any liquor bottles, as well as the yellow caution tape near the entrance, helped this feel. Food at the Grill was low grade, tasteless, and soggy. Nearest shopping and meh restaurants are 20 minutes away. The ugly: My car was damaged by a spike protruding from a concrete parking space barrier as I pulled out of my spot. I reported the incident and was told I'd receive a call. This was 2 weeks ago, and I have yet to hear from anyone. I stayed past my checkout, and have called and left messages trying to talk with an authority. This is how guests are treated when there's a problem. Pathetic. What's really sad is that I'm now going to be fixing it myself for only $50. Nice work Blue Green.

Booking was easy and Deborah went above and beyond! The property is family friendly with tons to do and a VERY helpful staff. The lodge offers tons of board games, cards, and movies that you can check out (great for a rainy day or for late night games). It also houses a resturant/bar, indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub, fitness center and arcade. The equestrian area is huge, filled with friendly and beautiful horses. The activity center was a nice surprise. They hold mutiple family friendly activies throughout the day(for a small fee), have a cozy movie theather ( popcorn and soda provided), and outdoor games. The general store has the basics , but I would suggest stopping by grocery store beforehand. There are mutiple small playgrounds throughout the property and one bigger area that also has basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts. The lake is beautiful, with water activites also available. Overall, I highly recommended booking with Deborah !

Adorable little cabin in the wilderness. Could have had a cleaner bathroom (the tub wouldn't drain due to excessive hair we had to clean out and hair on the counters and shower walls.

We were celebrating our 56 wedding anniversary and expected a nice stay but that is not what happened the cabin was dirty and there was a air confioner unit in closet with tabe around it when air came on there was a LOUD NOISE it sounded like someone bangi ng on tin I tried calling # i had no answed We left a day early eith no refund people at desk were rude

We stayed in the lodge and had an enjoyable time. Room was clean and comfortable.

We found mouse poop between my daughters' pillows and the sofa bed.

I enjoyed staying in this cabin for the week. Clean linen, nice privacy, and plenty to do on the property!

The cabin i book was so gross i bought a vacuum and filled the bucket up 3 times on half the cabin. So mant spider webs on furniture. A dead mouse in a rat trap under the fridge stinkin the entire cabin up on day 2. Not to mention about 30 steps for 1 single mom and 5 children. (1 being 16 months, 3 yrs, 4 yrs, 9yrs and 11yrs) i complained multiple times the first 2 days nobody came to fix the issues and i was told i could not switch to a cabin with less stairs because older people request thos cabins. Totally dismissed the nasty conditions. BTW i booked 3 separate weeks in this cabin over $4800 spent. Everything else here is perfect though.

This property is clean, and there is so many activities for every age group. I will be coming back for sure.

The natural setting was good. That is were it stops. Room in lodge was dmsll, limited tv channels, two beds but only one chair, ( they refused to give us another chair, nowhere to eat out. Resort restaurant was closed, had to drive 20 minutes to get breakfast. We did fine a great employee who was helpful and solved a couple of our problems. His name is Warren!!

Tv did not work and upon calling the front desk, I was told it is an ongoing problem and would likely not be fixed during my stay. We could hear every step the people above us took, we could hear the people next door making noises that sounded like they were having sex. There was vacuuming going on outside of our door at 10pm. There is no restaurant in the lodge but there is a General Store/deli on sight. They are open until 8pm however we arrived at 7:15om and could only get chicken fingers or pizza. They had shut down the grill early. Nice property but the lodge room we were in was not special at all. I spoke to the manager and he was very kind. He comped me one night of our stay. That was very king and appreciated.

The staff was courteous and welcoming. The old A.C. unit in our room was dated and very noisy

The rooms with one queen bed are small and somewhat cramped. They are, however, clean. The tavern on the property has been closed since COVID, and there are no immediate plans to reopen it. For food, go the the general store (breakfast there was limited, but good), or better yet go into Gordonsville.

One of our rooms had hair all over it! Both rooms were very dark and needed more lamps. There was not any chair or desk to sit at only the beds. Coffee station was not conveniently located. Groups getting coffee blocked access to hallway leading to rooms.

Many good things to say, but our room was dark and very small. No room for desk or chair, so no where to sit except on very high bed. I'll come back, but when I do I'll bring a powerful rechargeable lamp for the room, and two fold up chairs.

Deborah was great host good communication throughout. Loved the location cabin was great overlooking the lake. Would love to stay again.

We enjoyed our stay, it was a very nice property. My only complaint would be that the room was much smaller than we expected, and there was no where to sit except on the bed.

Great location. Did have some steps so would be cautious to rent if that’s an issue for you. Great Lake view though.

Extra charges at check in. Bed was uncomfortable. Limited dining was frustrating. Kept pressuring us to do a sales tour.

hotel had just changed owner and new staff didn't know whay they were doing. Couldn't find record of my payment. Charging my roomate for extra costs. Still in limbo please try to help.

Everything was great except the front desk for check in and check out. Most of my friends had trouble, one took well over an hour to resolve. It was truly uncalled for how rude the receptionists were. I was assigned the same room as the other person that checked in at the same time as me, and the way that was handled was unacceptable. I asked a simple question at checkout and the rudeness was again unacceptable. They have no business working in the hospitality industry.

We had a good stay. Deborah was very helpful it was clean and organized.

The front desk is clueless. I booked my Hotel stay in thru Expedia for 2 nights. I paid $343.63 for the booking thru Expedia. All I was suppose to pay at the Hotel was a resort fee of $53.66. I was charged $299.30 by Shenandoah FD and I was charged another $200.00 by Ascend Hotel Collection. I asked for an invoice from the Front Desk when I checked out. They said there was no reciept and no charges.

The only thing that bothered me was the fact that we had to wait an hojr to get in our cabin. Other than that it was a wonderful experience.

We had a lovely time during our stay. We booked for a wedding nearby and only spent 2 nights but we want to bring our family and come back for a week! The staff was so friendly and helpful no matter who you spoke to. There is plenty of fun things to do on the property and we can't wait to return and explore it all!

The checkin process was a disaster as they insisted I owed another $97. to my prepaid reservation. I totally agreed with the resort fee (although some resort amenities were not open/available). They later claimed Hotels.com had not sent payment for my reservation and I said that was their problem, not mine!! Double check your bill!

I’ve been staying here off and on for the last 4 weeks and it’s by far the best place to stay in the area. It’s easily accessible, close to Louisa, Gordonsville, and Zion’s Crossroads, and it has a restaurant on site that is very good. I will continue to use this as my temporary “home away from home” hotel as I am in the area on business.

We were visiting for the week for a college graduation. And it was a perfect place as it was close, but far enough away from the craziness of the weekend celebrations. The weather was pretty rainy, but there were lots of options to keep us busy on site with an indoor pool, arcade area, and more. I will say, if you are planning to cook any meals in your cabin, make sure you have groceries ahead of time and spices as there isn't any of that in the cabins for you. But that is my ONLY thing that I'd say was lacking. The space was incredible, the resort beautiful and rustic, and we loved our time there. I would -and have- recommended this stay to anyone. And we will for sure be coming back again! Thank you so much!

The cabins are lovely. But there are not numerous trails on the property as advertised. It is very remote. There is nothing anywhere near it, so in the winter there is little to do. I also didn’t like a 10:00 a.m checkout, when they ask you to assist in the housekeeping.

Nice quiet cabin, for the price should come with golf cart to get around. All activities are pricey. But the place is beautiful and peaceful.

Peaceful and very relaxing place to stay

This is one of the best properties I have ever stayed at. We stayed at the lodge. It has been completely updated, but the rooms are still very small. The room was functional though. There was a refrigerator, but no microwave. There was a microwave to use down the hall. There are no bad views from the lodge as far as I could tell. We woke every morning to a view of the horses grazing in the pasture. There is a restaurant and a bar downstairs, a game room, indoor and outdoor pools, firepit, marina, Store with food to order, sundries, wine and beer, Putt Putt, etc., etc., etc..

Great place to unwind... Beautiful surroundings. Lots to do.

The resort is set up very nice, the pools are relaxing and well maintained. The rooms are rather small not much extra space. Bathroom needed better cleaning a lot of hair behind the door and toliet. Game room was nice just needs a few newer games. We weren't told the restaurant wasn't open for breakfast during the week only on weekends. Also wasn't told about the 200.00 per room hold on your card and we booked 2 rooms so wasn't happy about that. The facility is nice and well maintained otherwise. Not much to do outside the resort or in the area.

The area was beautiful, the staff was nice, the food and drinks were good, and the price was very reasonable. Will be coming back, and would like to do the horseback riding and mini golf next time!

My husband and I planned this trip for our 36th anniversary. It had been a while since we’ve stayed at Shenandoah Crossings. We were not disappointed. Our cabin was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We enjoyed horseback riding with our trail guide Amanda. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The property is well kept and beautiful. We ate breakfast at the general store and dinner at the restaurant on the property. Both were not only delicious but very generous portions. We spent a day enjoying Gordonsville, with its antique stores and historical sites. Our stay was very relaxing, we just wish we had been able to stay longer. Maybe next time for sure, because we will definitely be back.

Very nice family resort, beautiful grounds. We liked the fact that there is a restaurant on site, although beer and wine only. Grandkids loved riding the ponies
