So when I checked in on Friday, everything was good we upgraded the room to a bigger room and a better view. Then on Saturday, I try to take a shower and the shower didn’t work and there was hair still in there.. the tower that we stayed at had four elevators but two of them were not working so you were waiting a very long time to go up to your room or down to the casino. My husband took 24 flights of stairs because he was waiting over 30 minutes to get on the elevator which the staircase lands him outside so then he has to walk all the way around to go to the front of the casino . The AC wasn’t the greatest. It was still very very warm in our room when I brought this to the attention of the front staff they simply didn’t care or try to make anything better. I definitely will not stay here again. The only positive experience that I had here was their voodoo lounge on their rooftop, which was amazing view , but besides that nothing else super disappointed.

Did not like the service Rio provided. It took so long to check in; the attendants kept going in and out and were not providing fast enough help. There was only one fully functioning elevator to get to the rooms. At times, there was one more working, which sounded horrible. There was a long line waiting for an elevator, which made it hard for us to want to keep going up and down our room, even if we needed something from downstairs. Housekeeping and the front desk did not answer our calls. We ran out of toilet paper and had to wait to catch a housekeeper in the hallway. The room was modest but had all we needed. I wish the service were much better.

Pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my stay at the Rio! The staff were all friendly, the hotel was clean, the room was really big and very nice and comfortable, and the pool was really relaxing! (Loved having an adults-only pool)

Awful… - We came expecting a pool but it was closed. Still charged full resort fee. No mention online at booking pool would be closed. - Our floor had WiFi issues. AI chat agent was not helpful so we stood in line 30 minutes to get a phone number for IT and then spent another 30 minutes getting our devices connected while on phone with IT - Our door frame was bent by the handle such that you could just use a keycard or credit card to easily pop the door open without needing a keycard to access the room. So we had to switch rooms one day into our stay - We initially received a response giving us one free day resort fee for our troubles prior to having to switch rooms. However, upon following up regarding having to switch rooms received zero response from management. Additionally, I’ve never stayed at a hotel that didn’t have a coffee maker in the room. I am giving management a few more days to respond to see if they will make things right but I doubt it. Also will be curious to see whether they even remove the resort fee for that one day,

This was a terrible experience. I booked based on the pics on hotels.com. I spent $175 and was under the understanding we had a remodeled room. We had a room that had not been updated since the 70s. The AC didn't work when we arrived, and the bathroom reaked of sewer. There was also vomit on the wall and on the hair dryer. We waited over an hour to switch rooms, which essentially killed the rest of our ONE night in Vegas. When we finally were moved, we were put in a room that had a leaky toilet and, again, more vomit on the wall. I don't feel I received what I paid. I wouldn't stay here for $20 a night. It was absolutely DISGUSTING. And now I am struggling to contact hotels.com or the Rio regarding issuing a complaint and refund. I will think twice before booking through hotels.com again based on this poor experience and misrepresentation of the rooms condition. VERY displeased. Shame on you hotels.com and Rio hotel! I should be refunded for this horrible stay.

I recently stayed at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas me and my wife had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a hotel. During my stay, we discovered bed bugs in my room. This is not only disgusting but also a serious health and safety concern. I immediately reported it to management. The manager assured me that someone would follow up with me regarding the situation, but no one ever reached out. It’s incredibly disappointing that a major hotel in Las Vegas would not take accountability for such a serious issue. I expected professionalism, urgency, and at the very least, some communication. Instead, I left with bites, stress, and silence from the hotel staff. This kind of neglect is unacceptable, and I feel other travelers deserve to know what they may be walking into. I am requesting that Rio management finally address this matter properly. A response, an apology, and appropriate compensation are the bare minimum after what we went through.

When I got there the room they gave me wasn’t cleaned. Got switched to another room with the dirtiest couches and chairs in it… also my room key deactivated twice while there. Very disappointed!!

The masquerade tower at Rio Casino was so old the furniture are just gross-the finish on tables are in very bad shape the cold water handle did not work on both bathrooms. Need to replace carpet-the only lamp in living room did not work. I do like the size of room and they used a spray cleaner to hide cigarette odor.

We loved our room. It was a spacious corner room with a panoramic view of the strip and pool. The beds are huge and super comfortable. The AC gave us air but didn’t cool the room. Our last night in Vegas we had a 5AM flight and got no sleep due to LOUD NOISE all hours of the night. Unfortunately, we had noisy neighbors and the walls are extremely thin. You could hear people talking in the next room, toilets flushing, and doors slamming everytime someone on our floor would come in/out of their room. I would recommend this hotel for the affordable price and if you don’t have an early start in the morning.

My stay went reasonably well at the Rio. The only real complaint I have is that the air conditioner was not very cold in my room. Maintenance came to repair it and said the filter was clogged, but it still didn’t get super cold after that and Vegas is very hot! Other than that, the food was delicious and there were great restaurant options. The hotel was also conveniently located and wasn’t too far from the strip.

I was promised a high floor room and was not provided one. The front desk told me floor 11 was a high floor but the AI operator said it was a middle floor, which makes sense. My AC didn’t work either. A facilities person came and it was better, but never cold.

The upgrading of the hotel rooms is very nice. Accommodations done well. The check on was still a poor experience. Only one person checking in people for the first 30 minutes in line then finally a second. This wasn’t even a very busy time. There was a very long line of people checking that extended way out to the casino floor.

The check in process is confusing. Lots of waiting in lines. Trying to figure out where my room was also confusing cause no one actually gives you any direction. The elevators are like half a mile from the check in and then you have to wait an eternity for them to come. My room door lock broke and I got locked out, a maintaince person showed up like 45 mins later with new batteries for the keypad. I had to sit outside on the floor and wait. The rooms are old and falling apart. The pool area is 5 stars.

I rarely leave reviews but felt compelled to leave a review. Stayed at the Rio a week ago for a family trip. The Rio was not my first choice but my SIL had already booked a stay there for her and her family so I decided to give it a try. I did my research and learned that the Rio had renovated much of the hotel and rooms. So I went a head and booked my stay in a renovated King suite. Arrived on a Friday with my teenage daughter. We checked in with Leanne. She was incredibly kind, attentive and listened to my requests and concerns. 10 out of 10 during my check in process thanks to Leanne. Our room was spacious and clean! Bed was super comfortable and everything looked new and well taken care of. I was not expecting to like staying there as much as I did. Will definitely be back! Lastly want to add that breakfast at the Hash House was excellent. Can get crowded so be aware that line can get long. Also, loved the free valet! Rio, you made an impression. We will be back.

Line took forever to check in, it wasn’t their fault they had some people just going back and forth with the people at the desk, then an old lady just cut the line and started talking to one of the desk people. When I got to the desk it took me around 5 minutes at the most to get my room. The room was clean and new. For the price I’d go and stay there again just because I have season tickets to the raiders and it’s close to the stadium

A hotel of two halves! On one side, we had a great stay in a newly renovated room with fantastic views of the Strip. The hotel itself offers everything you need, including ample gaming options. On the other side, the stay was marred by two major issues. First, the check-in process was shocking, with painfully long queues and a severe lack of staff at the desk. Second, while close to the Strip, the location is not as walkable as we'd hoped due to the high-speed main roads, meaning we had to Uber everywhere for safety. Our rating reflects the excellent hardware (room/view) being dragged down by poor service and transportation logistics.

Food options were just okay. Not enough variety. It was hamburgers or some sort of Asian food. The tavern was terrible. Slow service and I got not just one but two poorly cooked steaks in the same meal. The building appears to be in disrepair throughout with signage, broken, many of the stores closed, bars closed-most of the time I couldn’t find a single bar open. The biggest gripe was the pieces and parts falling off of the buildings annd villas and dead/dying trees around the property. It just wasn’t a good look the initial room that we got the vast was horrible. It had to unlock door to an area where there was construction going on or something and even setting the AC to the lowest temperature the room just stayed warm the second room we were given to replace that one though nicer showed a very poor remodel. Overall, it was just a bad experience and then there was just never anyone there at the front desk. It appeared. They always wanted you to use the app. I don’t pay a premium to have then have to self service with the app so I will be giving this hotel poor reviews across the board with detailed photos of my issues so so others can choose a hotel that’s clean, and in a state of repair that merits the cost. The one saving grace was the pool and the pool staff, that area seemed to not even be associated with the rest of the hotel. Super nice and worth the price of the drinks just because the service was so awesome.

Ive been a patron of the Rio since its heyday in the 2010's. While I know its under new management, but I was disappointed with the minimal to no late night dinning options. Vegas is known for being able to eat at 1am or later after gambling, drinking and partying....there was none of that. Also, every time I went to get a players card the line was massively long....so I ended up gambling and not getting any rewards while staying there. The pool is nice, but more shade is needed for the regular folks who cant afford a cabana. There was one clearly drunk fellow at the pool and there was no one who kept him in check. The room I had in the Impanema tower was renovated and I ejoyed it. Just wish the refrigerator was colder. The new set up of the room was great with the L-shaped sofa. I liked table to eat in the room as well. Gambling at the bar was ok....the bartender was upfront about letting me know what was expected of the ammount I put in and bet to get a free drink. But I remember the old days when you put in money and before you really played the bartender would ask you what you wanted to drink. I hope that the Rio improves because it was always a favorite of mine to stay and I want to give it another chance.

For the price we paid to stay at the Rio I expected much better. Several times it well over 15 minutes to get hot water in our room. Several times the television had a blank screen and had to be unplugged and plugged back in several times. Finally the food options at the Rio were extremely overpriced.

Ice machines on our floor and the flor above and below broken. No breakfast restaurants available. Half the restaurants on sight not open during our stay. No working in room Wi-Fi for most of our stay! The remodeled room was nice but very warm a/c barely recovered by bedtime. I have stayed in this hotel a lot over the last 15 years and this was definitely not as good as it was. We stayed here for my wife’s 66th birthday on this trip and where really disappointed with the amount of restaurants open during our stay and Wi-Fi issues

I think the property will most probably end up scoring five stars once the renovation is complete. At the moment it feels like a kind of halfway experience between old and decrepit, and new and inviting. I look forward to seeing what it becomes. I do think the seafood buffet should return, however: it's a thing I've always enjoyed in past visits.

It was a very nice vacation. I thought the cigarette smell in the casino was worse than other properties I’ve visited. But the pool was excellent. The gym was only fair. The 4 restaurants we ate at were hit or miss. Luckily was the best restaurant. Thx.
