Regent Commodore was an excellent hotel. Location was fabulous, the young girl on reception was lovely and made us feel very welcome. Plenty of car parking spaces. Room was so spacious. The bathroom was amazing. Plenty of room to set your things out. The shower was fabulous. We would stay again.

Good parking, quite, good bed and shower. Very good value. Will definitely be adding to my stay again list.

Yvette was friendly and professional. The Wotif website mentions laundry however this facility is not available.

Located off the centre of town, close to city park and amenities, the accommodation was good and reception very helpful. Only disappointment was there was no restaurant and therefore no breakfast available on site.

The personless checkin whilst initially not appreciated actually worked flawlessly. A pleasant stay with everything well presented.

We stayed in a spa room, at the back of the motel for one night. It had the usual amenities of a motel room, it was clean, quiet, reasonably large, comfortable and well maintained. Our room was up a flight of stairs, as were about half of them, not a problem for us. There was plenty of parking and it was a quick walk to the CBD, across from the park. There is no one at reception, we received an email about 48 hours prior to check in, with a code for the key safe. The procedure was simple, and there was a phone number available for any problems. The hotel, for us was value for money, we highly recommend it and will be back the next tie we are staying in Launceston.

Property was nice, good view, comfy bed and I enjoyed the check in process, however it was slightly dirty. Utensils where dirty and rusty, shower head was in desperate need of replacement. Nothing bad enough to make me want to leave but just gave an icky feeling

The overall condition of the property is ok. The rooms are well maintained, but there was issues with cleanliness. The operators are obviously trying to keep costs down by transitioning to a front desk free operation, which is ok, but perhaps this results in a lack of someone to keep an eye on things (like the work of cleaning staff). The main issue was a giant clump of hair in and around the shower drain, not just on the surface but also well down into the drain beneath. It obviously hadn't been cleaned out for quite some time. We cleaned it out, just to not feel queasy when looking down in the shower. Not a guests job.

Soap dispensers were dirty. Room was ok.

I am being serious when I say this and I have photos to back up my statement on arrival. Smashed up cars in car park on arrival, there was what I call a biohazard on every thing besides the bed. What I can assume is semen all over the couch, chair, bed head and floor. The toilet had been used and not flushed. I had to wipe down everything we used with soap and a towel. Hand prints on the walls from previous people. Remote for tv had no batteries, glasses were not clean, cobwebs on the walls and roof. I sent an email trying to contact someone with no reply. I am awaiting a refund for that disgusting place. Cleaner needs to be sacked and inspectors need to go through the place and condemn it. You’d think it’s a joke untill you realize i actually payed my hard earned money for that night. I will never come back and I’m half tempted to post photos on launceston chit chat to save a family from staying there. Absolutely appalling and no respect for customers. I feel sick that I had no choice but to stay the night there. If you want photos for evidence I’m more than happy to provide them.

Unfortunately our room was not cleaned from the previous guests, beds not made, used towels in bathroom and due to no weekend reception no way to get this rectified. We did arrive early and gave the benefit of the doubt hoping it would be cleaned during the day while we were out but arrived back to the room at 8pm and nothing had changed.

We arrived in the evening knowing that this hotel had no reception, signage was poor and it took a while to find the safe where the key to the room was located. We were in room 2. The door didn’t close properly and was in poor condition so we used the chain for security but it was very flimsy and didn’t provide comfort to us that we were safe. There were cobwebs on the ceiling, dust on the furniture and the mugs weren’t overly clean. The bathroom has been renovated and looks quite nice but don’t move the shower head or the water from where the head connects will spray out all over the bathroom and flood the floor and wet your belongings that you have placed on the counter, including the only pair of pyjamas you brought with you. Yep. There is nobody there on the weekend so too bad if you want a fresh towel or need anything. The bed was the most uncomfortable thing we have ever slept on, it was like sleeping on a hard floor and my back is still hurting from it. We have never been happier to check out of a hotel!

The bed was too hard and we didn’t get much sleep other than that the room was nice, that was the only thing stopping us from 5 stars.

Room was ok, clean. Location good. But it’s not quiet. You can hear your neighbours and anyone walking past your room. I stayed at another hotel in Burnie that was worse but this one is still not good.

Standard ?king? with jetted spa bath. Great stuff! Lovely location across from park. Room spacious. Clean. Efforts being made to spruce up property generally (team of half dozen painters). What more could you want? I will tell you .. a microwave (and toaster)! We arrived with a (wasted) Chinese dinner, knowing there were no easily accessible eating outlets nearby we came with dinner (now cold). No microwave .. A completely wasted dinner!! And no staff to appoach! Checking back through reviews, this seems to have been policy for a couple of years. Combined with 'no toaster', (and no staff), I can only conclude that policy is that such things are messy - don't provide them. (Next? Guests tend to dirty bed linen .. hmm?) Pretty ok room - penny pinching/smart**** management knows best Would not return, at any price, minus some sort of food warmer .. it's called a microwave - and you can even see where it prob was! Cheers

Our room was clean and spacious. Check in staff was friendly. Hotel very close to Festivale making it very easy to attend each day

Great location. Nice big room with huge bathroom and powerful shower. Comfy bed and warm.

Traffic noise was an issue so didn’t sleep well. Other than that room was clean and tidy

Check in was a terrible experience. New staff, not trained properly. I was initially refused to be allowed to stay. They have a policy of putting a $150 bond on a credit card. That’s fine, most hotels do the same. However they would not except my westpac debit master card and could not understand that it is a credit card. Just because it has debit written on it is irrelevant, it is a credit card and not only that it is one of the most used in this country. I contacted the bank and they confirmed it is a credit card and they had never heard of this happening. I asked to either speak to the manager or for the manager to contact me and my request was flat out refused and I was told I was not permitted to speak with the manager. I have stayed at hotels hundreds of times that your records will confirm, this is my first ever complaint.

New management, new check-in procedures. Slower, less efficient, not very welcoming or helpful. I have stayed here many times. The room was excellent as usual.

Had a bit of a miscommunication prior to our arrival but staff were incredibly helpful and went to great lengths to make sure we had everything we needed.

Friendly staff at reception and clean room. Only criticism would be broken lock on bathroom door.

Fridge was dirty and not really working properly, mirror door was cracked an leading edge dirty. Staff?? What staff, there aren't any 😡 I have stayed hete many times, and will do so again because I like it here. But it's not the same warm, friendly place it once was. Nobody ever answers the phone, no reception...

Staff were great and very helpful when we checked in. However, there was no hot water on Sunday morning and no one was at the front desk on weekends until we had already checked out.

Horrible Place!! When we arrived at Commodore Regent on 13th of January, 2025, we found a note on the desk saying the air conditioner was broken. There was no communication regarding this issue prior to our arrival. I called the person on call three times asking whether it would be possible to offer us a different room with a working air conditioner. The lady kept saying she would come back to check availability and get back to me, but never called back. It was a hot day in Launceston and the room temperature was 35 degrees. We could not have a good night sleep because of the heat. When we went through check-out on the following day, I spoke to a lady in charge who promised us a $100 refund as a compensation. I requested to get the refund on the spot but she said I had to go through Expedia and she would proceed with the refund once she received the request through Expedia. I lodged a refund request through Expedia. Expedia got back to me saying they were not able to obtain an approval from the property manager for a refund after multiple attempts and refund could not be granted. It looked like that the manager was only trying to dismiss us by offering us a "compensation or refund" they never prepared to pay. STAY AWAY from this place!!!

Commodore location was very convenient.

This is a great budget option. Clean rooms, clear communication with regard to accessing the room key, excellent location, free off street parking is ideal. We walked everywhere, including to the footy. We will stay here again when we come back to Launnie.

Walking distance to footy at UTAS stadium. Walking distance to CBD and Tamar river. Nice aspect, looking over City Park

Clean, spacious, comfortable and quiet. Excellent location - close to cafes and restaurants and City Park directly opposite. Quite steep for walking in and out of the property so something to be aware of if you have mobility issues. Would happily stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Commodore Regent. Such a great location, walking distance to the mall, football oval and supermarket. City Park is right across the road. The room wasn't anything fancy, but it was neat and tidy. Thanks!

Loved the rooms with balcony and views. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed while we were there.
