Always use this hotel when visiting the area. Plenty of free car parking which is a huge bonus Staff are absolutely superb. Room was decent with such a comfy bed as well.

Check in was easy & lobby was spacious and comfortable. Rooms and bathrooms are slightly larger than many accommodations and appear to have been renovated within the not too distant past. There is a shopping center with a large superstore (groceries, clothing and more) plus designer outlets within a ten minute walk. There is lots of free parking for guests. We had one meal in the on site restaurant with a menu that has something for almost everyone and they provide breakfast for a price to guests which we did not partake because we were out and on the go every day. I think the strongest point of Mercure is the staff - they were all friendly and helpful and willing to go that extra little bit to help their guests. There are two rail corridors between Edinburgh and Glasgow which go right through Livingston so lots of opportunities for exploring the larger cities without having to drive. Both trains will require a car or taxi to the station. All in all a good place to settle for a while.

Just a short walk from the local shopping centres. Free parking at hotel Room tired looking with threadbare carpets. Only one bedside table. On the plus the bed was comfortable, bath & shower were fine and we had a delicious help yourself breakfast.

Do not risk staying here: our first room was tiny, dark, noisy, and only fit for a budget listing. It was linked to another guest’s room with paper-thin walls, so we could hear everything. I have stayed here before. Very convenient for either Glasgow or Edinburgh. Easy and secure parking. Friendly reception staff. Large room with bath tub. Restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Will stay again.

The staff really make this place. We stayed 3 nights. The breakfast and dinners were good. Room was quiet and comfortable. Only issue was the stairs, no lift. But overall really good stay.

Staff were excellent on many ways, however, when booking I requested connecting rooms (not critical) but didn't get that. My other request was for a ground floor room as my wife has a quite serious mobility problem . We were given a second floor room in hotel without a lift.

1. Arrived at 21:35 and checked in, was told food orders in restaurant closes in 5 mins so I immediately dropped bags and was at the restaurant to be told it was closed. I challenged this and was then able to order. 2. £17 for that burger and chips was not worth the money or wait. 9 chips and what was an average burger meat, ok sauce but minimal salad and cheese made it not worth the money. 3. Whilst still chewing the last bite, was asked to settle up teh bill as they wanted to close up the till, although i was sat in the bar and was told it was 24 hour. Felt like I had to leave. 4. The hotel is grotty and walking to the rooms shows the corridors are poorly maintained, every door has marks all over them. 5. Dirty toilet 6. Dirty leaky Iron (that had to be requested) 7. Asked if they had a take away cup for a coffee in the morning, quite basic for most hotels I visit, but this is not something they had or did. Not saying there are not worse hotels than this, but those hotels would not charge anywhere near what I paid per night.

The hotel was very tired there was even a christmas tree in the reception which looked really tacky. The shower area had mould. The food was ok but the signal for the card machine was very very poor. The cost to stay here was certainly not worth the amount paid and seriously needs reviewing.

Ideal location for visiting five sisters zoo and the alpine coaster. Room was dated but was spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed. Check in staff were lovely as were the bar staff. Our room was on the ground floor and we were not disturbed from the car park or other guests. Would definitely visit again

The hotel is very very dated. The room while clean enough had an odour like a public swimming pool changing room. The decor is very dated. The bathroom, again clean but not renovated since at least the 90's. Plastic countertops old fashioned huge cistern behind the toilet and a shower over bath with a hose to head! I'd expect to see it in your grannies house! The staff were very nice and friendly and service was good.

Food average Drinks terrible - was srrved the worst aperol spritz ever. Ratio of liquids wrong, flat soda and flat prosecco. Barman said it was correct first time I complained thrn in the end I just couldn't drink it so went to the bar again and barman had to get the manager. Quite a lot of fuss just to get a crap dtink replaced. Staff were pleasant This place is way overpriced at nearly £140 a night and a wine at £12.50 Not even city centre. Rooms were so dated and pretty scruffy. Curtajns discoloured and woodwork and walls stained and damaged. Walls are wafer thin too. Wouldn't stay again.

The Hotel is good has everything you need for a trip away at a great price. The room was clean a little dated but totally acceptable plenty of lighting and a surprisingly large room. The bed was a little hard for me and the pillows where not soft enough but that’s my preference I’m sure would be fine for others. Would stay again if I have to visit Livingston for business but would take my own pillow.

The Mercure is clean but the decor is tired and in need of refurbishment. The reception staff are worth the 5 stars in my review - they are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Truly wonderful staff. Even the cleaners were friendly - so refreshing.

No hot water couldnt get shower to go out complained twice. Got hot water hours later then No shower gel by this point we had gave up. Asked for some ice told no at bar . Went to reception got shannon who got me bucket with ice and apologised. tbh Shannon only one in hotel with any customer service skills very efficient well mannered girl. Usually use premier inn honestly wasnt worth the money

Location good, reception staff friendly & efficient. Reception & bar areas in good condition but as soon as you venture away from these areas the building is tired inside & out and in need of upgrading. Young bar staff need more training as I was tried to be charged different price for same drinks on two occasions.

I booked a room here after my flight was cancelled. The 2 girls on reception when we arrived on 23/11 were absolutely lovely and couldn't do enough for us. They really went all out to make sure their guests were comfortable and had everything they needed. Even popped up to the room to let us know they had booked our early morning taxi back to Edinburgh airport.

Lady at front desk very friendly and helpful to us. Got ironong board and iron no bother. Got free pint for joining hotel app. Lovely roaring fire going in. All downstairs and easy to navigate. Rooms basic but big and good prices. We slept really well.

I think the strongest point of Mercure is the staff - they were all friendly and helpful and willing to go that extra little bit to help their guests. There are two rail corridors between Edinburgh and Glasgow which go right through Livingston so lots of opportunities for exploring the larger cities without having to drive. Both trains will require a car or taxi to the station. All in all a good place to settle for a while.
Check in was easy & lobby was spacious and comfortable. Rooms and bathrooms are slightly larger than many accommodations and appear to have been renovated within the not too distant past. There is a shopping center with a large superstore (groceries, clothing and more) plus designer outlets within a ten minute walk. There is lots of free parking for guests. We had one meal in the on site restaurant with a menu that has something for almost everyone and they provide breakfast for a price to guests which we did not partake because we were out and on the go every day. I have stayed here before. Very convenient for either Glasgow or Edinburgh. Easy and secure parking. Friendly reception staff. Large room with bath tub. Restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Will stay again.

The Hotel is located in a business park. It has easy access to the shops( Designer Outlet, Asda and restaurant). The check in process was easy and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. The hotel has a bar, and a restaurant. Even though, I didn't use the facility, it was busy with hotel guests. The rooms in the hotel was good and spacious. This is not a hotel in not in the city central but reasonably priced and not to miss it. I will recommend the hotel , driving to Stirling castle and Edinburgh is workable from the hotel.

1. Arrived at 21:35 and checked in, was told food orders in restaurant closes in 5 mins so I immediately dropped bags and was at the restaurant to be told it was closed. I challenged this and was then able to order. 2. £17 for that burger and chips was not worth the money or wait. 9 chips and what was an average burger meat, ok sauce but minimal salad and cheese made it not worth the money. 3. Whilst still chewing the last bite, was asked to settle up teh bill as they wanted to close up the till, although i was sat in the bar and was told it was 24 hour. Felt like I had to leave. 4. The hotel is grotty and walking to the rooms shows the corridors are poorly maintained, every door has marks all over them. 5. Dirty toilet 6. Dirty leaky Iron (that had to be requested) 7. Asked if they had a take away cup for a coffee in the morning, quite basic for most hotels I visit, but this is not something they had or did. Not saying there are not worse hotels than this, but those hotels would not charge anywhere near what I paid per night.

Food average Drinks terrible - was srrved the worst aperol spritz ever. Ratio of liquids wrong, flat soda and flat prosecco. Barman said it was correct first time I complained thrn in the end I just couldn't drink it so went to the bar again and barman had to get the manager. Quite a lot of fuss just to get a crap dtink replaced. Staff were pleasant This place is way overpriced at nearly £140 a night and a wine at £12.50 Not even city centre. Rooms were so dated and pretty scruffy. Curtajns discoloured and woodwork and walls stained and damaged. Walls are wafer thin too. Wouldn't stay again.

Good mid-level hotel handily placed for my n eeds working at the nearby Dalmahoy Golf club for a couple of days. the hotel is I suspect due a refurb but whilst a little 'faded' the staff are exc ellent and the cleanliness of the rooms was very good. I eat only at breakfast but this was very good and excellent value at £12. The reception staff were especially helpful and gave me advice about how to best access the stores at the huge retail complex over the road.

I have stayed here several times, and each time I tell myself to eat elsewhere, but do I listen? No. Take my advice, the rooms are great and really comfortable, but the restaurant is shocking. Really slow service, really poor menu selection and no atmosphere at all.

This is our 2nd visit as it’s a lovely hotel. The staff throughout the whole hotel are amazing. They are all so friendly and helpful. Last time was an overnight stay, this time was for the weekend so we ate in the hotel. Breakfast is fabulous - a great choice of food. Had 1 dinner and the food was great and service quick. Thoroughly recommended!!

I must confess I was a little disappointed when I pulled up into the car park of this hotel ./ the front & exterior is not particularly impressive . However, all the staff are excellent, friendly & professional. My room was very comfortable indeed , dinner was good & it was a very good one night stay for business purposes.

The hotel is in desperate need of a renovation, it’s very outdated there is no air con in the rooms and the windows don’t even open. The staff though are lovely they were so friendly especially Olivia in the restaurant she spoke to me every evening asking how my day had gone. I would only stay here if there was no other option.
