The Mitre, Hampton Court

Great little hotel, clean and comfortable with a real homely feel. High quality place with good food options and great transport links. Parking was a bit dodgy but it’s a 2 minute walk to the station which has loads of parking for decent pricing

Fabulous location and friendly, helpful staff. Lovely welcome mulled wine on arrival on a wet December afternoon! Hotel is full of character and our room was great, with massive fluffy towels in the huge bathroom (Palace Room) Parking available and more than we thought. You leave your keys at reception to allow as many cars as possible. Very friendly bar staff too.

Lovely hotel in a great location. All the staff we dealt with were very pleasant and efficient. The breakfast was excellent, both the food and the service. Fortunately we parked in the limited on-site spaces without any problem.

Fab stay with electric boats on site to rent.

We had a lovely stay for 4 nights with 3 kids and our dog Butter. The location was amazing and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved the food at the restaurant. We also enjoyed a quiet moment at the little library. Will come back to stay again in the future!

The hotel room was extremly warm to the extent that i could not sleep .Bearing in mind that this was mid March and outside temperatures were in single figures, i dread to think how warm it will be in summer. In the morning i had to wait 15 minutes whilst the hotel staff moved the car that was blocking my vehicles exit.

I went there for a short break with my dog. The room was perfect with a private walled garden outside my room. I could sit in the garden with a cup of tea every morning. It's perfect for my dog. The staff were friendly. I need to give a shout out to Hannah at the reception who went out of her way to help me at our first night. The hotel is in a great location with beautiful river walk and excellent choices of cafes and restaurants nearby. Most of them are dog friendly. The Hampton Court Palace is just across the road and the hotel gave me complementary tickets to visit the palace. I had a wonderful stay at the hotel and would love to come back.

Will definitely use again Opposite Hampton Court entrance and close to Hampton Court railway station. Lovely terraces on the River embankment. Easily accessible by car although parking is limited at the hotel - but parked at the railway station for £3.90 per day.

Stayed for 1 night for a family party staff were friendly very polite room was spacious a the bathroom was a bit dated and there was dust on the carpet in the corners but apart from that everything was ok . For the room price breakfast should be included . Very well located across from Hampton Court

Fab location 5 minutes walk from Hampton Court palace and a lovely view of river Thames from the restaurant. Bedroom immaculate, quiet and good size. Several pretty lounge rooms to relax in. Half board package was great value for us.

Excellent staff at reception. Warm, personable and very welcoming. Fine spacious room with double doors into courtyard. Very large comfortable bed with quality bed linen. Room and bathroom very clean. Quiet, no interference from outside noise. Ate in restaurant both nights. Food and service very good. Location is outstanding, on the river and just across the road from Hampton Court. Warmth of staff and their willingness to help at every turn a major plus in the Mitre.

Great area for visiting the Hampton Court Palace. A bit tired and needed some up keeps. Noisy on in the front rooms. The breakfast was amazing and the staff top notch. All linens were very soft and clean.

Superb location and absolutely fabulous staff on reception, breakfast and the bar. Big shout out to Hannah and the reception ladies, you were all superstars. A hotel with history, but sadly is showing it in places, hence the 4 score. We had room 114, Cartoon gallery with it's own private courtyard. Some issues, carpet in a bathroom?? Showing stains, some issues with carpeting and paint finishes in the room need addressing. Biggest grudges, the parking and breakfast. No one could confirm if we had breakfast included or not, only found out on the second day we were room only. Re-checked through the booking system and there appears no mention of breakfast, so be aware continental will cost you and hot meals are all extra unless you are on a B&B tariff. Secondly parking is limited and first come, first served. Wanted an early get away as my wife was poorly, but unfortunately reception had not obtained the car keys to the car parked behind us. Held us up whilst the owner was tracked down at breakfast. However these issues apart, it was a fabulous stay generally down to the wonderful staff that we had contact with, sorry should have taken more names to name you all. A big thank you for helping make our stay better. Highly recommended.

I opted for the Mitre as we were attending an event at Hampton court . The hotel looked wonderful with areas overlooking the Thames . Our room was separate from the hotel but just a short distance and in a block with 4 rooms . Our room ( the palace gate ) was bijou but lovely and a door leading to a private rooftop terrace was a lovely unexpected bonus . A Glass of wine each on arrival , cheerful staff and simple booking in procedure, pubs and cafe next door are very welcoming. Parking appeared tight at the actual hotel but plenty around . Train station is a 5 min walk away. We didn’t eat or drink in the hotel as we were at a ‘James’ gig across the road but I’m sure this hotel would definitely deliver in all aspects!.

The room was very hot, could not sleep. When i told the front desk, all she said its a wooden building and she will tell her manager.

The room was incredibly spacious but the walls/ceiling were thin so you could hear people in the other rooms, walking, talking, televisions.

First, I booked this property as a last night in the UK, realizing later that I had got the dates wrong and double-booked the property. More than three weeks out, I had contacted them and was informed that there were absolutely no refunds or changes allowed. That should have told me everything I needed to know. Tiny lobby and parking is just short of a hot mess (I had driven). We were escorted to our room which was through a maze of halls, and elevator and then a flight of steps. The room, layout was terrible, even by old hotel standards.The bathroom was a good 15 feet from the bed, with a sofa and fridge in a "hall" between them. Dinner there is where the disappointements started to add up. The food was VERY sub-par. The dishes themselves were not balanced, and our vegetables, were burnt -- I think the chef was going for carmelized, but charcoal flavoring was a miss. Then... the THUMP THUMP THUMP started in the floor above us. They had booked an engagement party and another gathering. It made a bad meal worse. We decided to skip desert and spend time in the room and get to bed early. The party was in a tent outside our window, and for the next 3 1/2 hours we could barely hear our TV let alone get to bed. Complaints to the front desk were fruitless. they promised to "make it right"... No response from any further messages. Never again.

100% brilliant! A destination hotel - located just across the street from Hampton Court Palace, and right on the Thames Path for miles of walking paths. National Rail/Overground station just a 6-min walk across the bridge with easy 35-min ride to Waterloo. We enjoyed full breakfast on-site twice, dinner once, and everything was superb. The spacious "Royal" room featured river view, window seats, comfy robes, a fridge with cold milk, Lavazza machine, kettle, and good selection of tea. The warm welcome at check-in included housemade shortbread and a "tipple" of ginger schnapps in the room. Staff went above and beyond. (Summertime tip: room 308 had superb air-con, even though we did not expect it from the listing. Not sure if it's in every room.)

Very good service all around from the door to the room , attentive and friendly staff. The place has history and style. Great location and fantastic breakfast by the water. The family room was perfect for our family

I just want to say thank you to the staff . I was on my own for a 50th bday trip but I never felt alone. The staff was always there to help me navigate the train or bus , the waitresses greeted me every morning with a bright smile and the maintenance man rescued my passport from a uncooperative safe lol.. thank you so much for my bday trip extra special .. it wouid not have been the same without all of you . A special mention to Jaiya ( bio-med student) sorry if the spelling is incorrect! She greeted us at reception. She was exceptional. Professional and friendly. Dinner on the terrace. Beautiful view. Wonderful food with plenty of choice. Well done to the chef and team, not forgetting the waiting on staff. Breakfast was equally as tasty with a variety of choices. Staff were wonderful! I will definitely book here again.

Excellent stay at the Mitre Hotel , from check-in to check-out. We were greeted by the kindest receptionist, who was also there when we checked out and who went above and beyond to make our kids feel welcome and happy . The room was very well equipped, with great decor while staying conveniently with children , room service was good and breakfast the following day great too , especially the view from the restaurant. Access to the palace could not be easier , and the whole surrounding area is very nice . Parking spaces are fairly limited but we were lucky enough to get one despite a late arrival.

Our stay at The Mitre was excellent . A marvellous combination of an historical building skillfully and tastefully blended with modern facilities and a great restaurant, positioned in the perfect setting on the Thames next to Hampton Court Palace.

We enjoyed a relaxing stay at the Mitre. The room was comfortable and we were pleased to have a fan during such hot weather.It is convenient for the station with a direct service to Waterloo. The Mitre is opposite Hampton Court Palace which is always worth a visit

I LOVED this place! It’s now my go to hotel when I’m in London. It’s outside the hustle and bustle of the city but right on the river and literally across the street from Hampton Court Palace. I would have moved in if possible! The staff is so kind and will help with whatever you need. It’s quiet and has amazing food. It’s also next door to a lovely pub/restaurant.

Super stay in The Mitre, comfortable spacious bedroom overlooking the river Thames ,helpful friendly staff, good breakfast & so convenient for visit to Hampton Court We travelled with my sister & her husband who were celebrating their wedding anniversary & they were upgraded & we were all given a glass of complimentary wine . Dined one evening in 1665 restaurant….can highly recommend. Wonderful three day break..
