This charming historic hotel is a wonderful choice for anyone looking to escape London for a little day trip. After a lovely cruise down the Thames, returning to the comfort of my room was exactly what I needed, and it completely washed away the tiredness of the day.Mr Peter was exceptionally attentive and kind, and very thoughtfully offered me an early check-in before I had even had the chance to ask.The brasserie on the terrace is another delightful spot to dine. The food I ordered was enjoyable, although, if I may say so as a bit of a foodie 🙈, there is perhaps a little room for improvement.A special thank you also to the lovely lady at reception, whose name I unfortunately failed to ask, for so kindly looking after my bag while I visited the palace. Such thoughtful touches truly made my stay all the more enjoyable. 💐🙏

What a hidden gem of a place. We came to celebrate a birthday with an overnight stay. Arrived at 14.00 and sat outside on the river bank watching the world go by. All of the staff were unbelievably polite and couldn’t do enough for us , there was a real family approach.. We had Sunday lunch outside which was lovely and breakfast was magnificent . Would recommend to anyone thinking of getaway. Please thank everyone who worked on the 2/3rd August who made my daughter’s birthday a memory she won’t forget.

Just such a lovely place. Dining on the terrace with all the flowers and the delicious food, the beautiful view over the river and the smiling staff is wonderful. I can thoroughly recommend a stay at The Mitre, you won't find a lovelier staff to take care of you.
