Very good, the large rooms are cabins in the grounds of the pub. Very quiet, plenty of parking and EV charging. Good food in the pub restaurant, but we didn't have breakfast as heading to Le Shuttle. Staff friendly and efficient. Room clean and dog friendly.

The main building, with the pub and dining rooms, is a charming old rabbit-warren of a place set in quiet countryside. The more modern blocks of rooms were everything we needed. The extensive beer garden is a lovely place for a before dinner drink. Our meals, morning and evening, were all very good. Lots of attentive staff to look after us.

Called in advance as we were travelling from the North East England , so not landing until after 10pm , no problems will leave door open & keys in your room , which is basically a chalet type room , needed a hotel that accommodates Dogs , as we have Two , nice dog friendly facilities, great little doggy pack when you arrive - with blankets etc great touch ! The hotel was lovely , very welcoming & the staff super helpful & nice , you can tell they all enjoy working in the inn - great breakfast & we decided to stop another night ! Food in the restaurant is high end & reasonably priced - overall I would highly recommend

What a find. This is a place in the country and only 10 min from Leeds Castle. The pub atmosphere is we loving and traditional - what you would hope for and expect of a pub. Cozy, updated menu with vegan options. The rooms are in a separate annex. Quiet, modern but cute and stylish in the room I was in. All that’s needed. I’d recommend this place any day.

We had a lovely experience here. The room accommodated our family of 5, the grounds were beautiful and there was an EV charging station on site. The restaurant was great. We loved the decor. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

Everything about our stay was excellent. It’s situated on a quiet country lane but very accessible to the M20. The chalet accommodation was immaculate, cosy and dog friendly. The inn is very characterful and quirky and the food was comparable to restaurant food with specials to suit anyone. In terms of value for money we could not ask for more. The owner, John is so friendly. It’s so well placed for an overnight stay on the way to the tunnel. We will definitely book here again. Wonderful!

The rooms are clean and have plenty of space, quiet location. The staff here are really friendly and do a fantastic job, make you feel welcome. Food is fantastic, if the mussels are on have them they are really tasty and the portion is big. Well worth staying here with fantastic walks. John and the team will look after you, have been here 6 times over the last 18 months.

Great one night stay. Comfortable room with all the basics although note the lack of fridge. Couldn’t work out how to turn on the fan in the bathroom so that fogged up the room a little. Service at reception and in the restaurant was great and the food was really good.

The greeting was great, the room size was perfect, kids beds were spot on. The only issue was that there was an adjacent (behind our beds head) room which had some sort of generator or mechanical room that was churning out noise the whole night. It had a constant hum and every hour or so load screeching noises that basically kept my wife and me from sleeping. The kids on the other side of the room didn’t wake which I guess was a bonus.

What a fantastic friendly hotel. We had a lovely spacious room with great facilities. Every member of staff we met were courteous, friendly and helpful. The food is absolutely delicious and sourced locally. We can not recommend this hotel highly enough.

The rooms were in chalets and they were very comfortable, although we had a somewhat 'tired' room and one of the armchairs was missing. The staff were very understanding as we were staying in the pub for my Father's funeral and they allowed us to check out a little later than the set time which was very helpful to us (my Brother was in another room) and gave us some time to get ready and gather our thoughts... Thank you

This was a lovely base for us whilst visiting friends our only niggle was the service with food in the pub as we were forgotten at breakfast for so long we gave up waiting. They were very apologetic but was a sad end to an otherwise lovely stay.

This is a charming country inn set within a beautiful landscape. The rooms are individually named and accessed via external doors as they are set in courtyard style blocks on a hillside. The aptly named Cardiac Hill is steep but thankfully very short! The service and food were both excellent. The Wi-Fi was of a good standard and I was able to utilise it to deliver a webinar without any issues.

Quaint. Good view from garden. Room clean and functional. All spoilt by appalling service in restaurant. First course arrived 45 minutes after ordering. Walked out after 90 minutes before second course arrived. Bar/restaurant manager and receptionist dismissive - said they had two chefs on and we were told they had several tables before us needing served before we sat down but we were not told (besides we had the table booked for over a month beforehand). If they knew there was going to be a problem they should have re-scheduled our booking or not taken it at all!

Stunning pub, restaurant superb and the rooms were amazing, clean and very comfortable. The only downfall was the tv in the room didn’t work. Reported first thing this morning and they had a replacement straight away. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend

The secluded countryside location was idyllic, contemporary room with extremely comfortable bed. A bench outside the lodge would have, in my opinion, added to the experience. The staff here were fabulous and a special thanks goes to the guy behind the bar who helped me back to my room, a real gentleman. I would recommend a stay here for anyone looking for old fashioned and quintessential english welcome and experience
The secluded countryside location was idyllic, contemporary room with extremely comfortable bed. A bench outside the lodge would have, in my opinion, added to the experience. The staff here were fabulous and a special thanks goes to the guy behind the bar who helped me back to my room, a real gentleman. I would recommend a stay here for anyone looking for old fashioned and quintessential english welcome and experience

Lovely historic inn with loads of character. Accommodation is in a newer facility over the other side of the car park - consisting of small cabins - and was very quiet despite only being a few minutes off the M20. Comfortable room, good breakfast. The restaurant / inn is great with really nice, locally sourced produce and a great range of beers.

This is a charming country inn set within a beautiful landscape. The rooms are individually named and accessed via external doors as they are set in courtyard style blocks on a hillside. The aptly named Cardiac Hill is steep but thankfully very short! The service and food were both excellent. The Wi-Fi was of a good standard and I was able to utilise it to deliver a webinar without any issues.

What a find. This is a place in the country and only 10 min from Leeds Castle. The pub atmosphere is we loving and traditional - what you would hope for and expect of a pub. Cozy, updated menu with vegan options. The rooms are in a separate annex. Quiet, modern but cute and stylish in the room I was in. All that’s needed. I’d recommend this place any day.

Everything about our stay was excellent. It’s situated on a quiet country lane but very accessible to the M20. The chalet accommodation was immaculate, cosy and dog friendly. The inn is very characterful and quirky and the food was comparable to restaurant food with specials to suit anyone. In terms of value for money we could not ask for more. The owner, John is so friendly. It’s so well placed for an overnight stay on the way to the tunnel. We will definitely book here again. Wonderful!

Welcoming staff, lovely cabin style rooms linked to a lovely old pub. Really enjoyed my stay. It does seem quite remote at a crossroads of narrow lanes - so not a lot around - but that was perfect for me.

This pub is one of our favourites! We stayed for a second time round on our way to Suffolk from Brittany. The food is superb, location and landscape stunning, accomodation clean and comfy. The staff is always smiling and friendly. What more can one possibly want? Hopefully, we'll be back!

We arrived at 16.30 checkin was quick and i went to the room my husband went to make a reservation for dinner.The room was very tastefully decorated but no heating on,as it was Febuary it would have been nice to walk into a warm room.We were only able to book for 21.00 which was far too late when we had lunch at 13.00.We were not able to order our choice on the menu as they had sold out sausage and mash and fish and chips nothing special maybe defrost a few more. I've stayed here on a number of occasions over the last decade and a bit. I've always found it to be friendly, with good beer and good food. My only reservations are that in colder months, the chalets can be a bit on the cool side despite having heaters. However, on this occasion, I was in one of the newer rooms and the bathroom was nice and warm in the morning and best of all contained a walk-in shower stall, far better than clambering over a bath tub! The pub itself has remained a decent hostelry, with a good choice of drinks. There is always a good local beer or two on tap. The food is usually very good, if a bit on the pricey side. I had calf's liver the first night which was very tasty and well presented. Breakfasts are amongst the best I have on my travels, with all contents of the plate well cooked and presented. The staff are always friendly, chatty and helpful and I will certainly continue to stay here when down in Kent. Highly recommended also for leisure as it is positioned brilliantly for Leeds Castle, Canterbury, Chatham and the Kent Weald. Problem is I'm always at work when here!

This was a lovely base for us whilst visiting friends our only niggle was the service with food in the pub as we were forgotten at breakfast for so long we gave up waiting. They were very apologetic but was a sad end to an otherwise lovely stay.

2 night working trip solo. A lovely old pub with olde world charm. You really couldn't find a pub more quintessentially English. Rooms lovely and warm with spacious bathroom (Clover, block 4). Restaurant also very good but £11 for a glass of wine is pushing it a bit. Have the prawns starter and sausage and mash to get the best value out of it.
