The Balavil Hotel Newtonmore - Restaurant, Bars & Swimming Pool

Had a lovely 2 night stay at the Balavil Hotel. The food at both breakfast and dinner was excellent and freshly cooked to order. Room was very clean and looked like the hotel has been refurbished and redecorated recently. Swimming pool was a welcome addition to the amenities.

Staff is very kind, helpful and friendly. The bar and restaurant is good, plenty of options in the menu and the drinks. swimming pool is great , a bit small but incredibly pleasant and a plus for your stay. Food at the restaurant is decent and portions are big, the bar atmosphere is great. Plenty of hot breakfast- could do with a bit more pasty options and the coffee is not great; wish I could ask for a proper drink instead of the wishy- washy one. Rooms are a bit tired but nicely newly refurbished bathrooms. Not the most luxurious place but overall a pleasant experience.

Safe, but not secure, parking across the (quiet) Main Street. Staff were friendly and helpful, the room and bathroom were clean and well prepared. The breakfast was excellent, with plentiful healthy options to choose from.

Such a great little hotel in a cozy small village. Traveling with a friend and our plans got blown away by Storm Amy. We scrambled and found this hotel at the last minute, which was one of the best parts of the trip. Travel weary from hours of driving, we walked in and immediately received a warm greeting, given our room key, and offered dinner in the dining room. The food was so good my friend and I nearly cried. It reminded me of my grandmother’s cooking. The staff were professional and friendly and they even had singers in the bar for evening entertainment. I will definitely book at this place again when I travel to Scotland and always remember the good time I had here.
