Everything else in the hotel was great, but here’s what I’m concerned about: I paid over six hundred dollars for a single night in a room that looked pretty clean, but it just smelled off—not fresh. Plus, it’s impossible to open a window to let in some fresh air.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good, great even. Walking distance to nearly everything. Would stay here again in the future.

Our stay at the Fairfield was great. Hotel is well maintained and very clean. The breakfast was the best I have seen in a very long time. Parking is a bit steep. Should be free or lower considering how much we pay for the hotel room. Location was good and close to Clifton Hill.

My wife and I stayed four weeknights (M-F) with our two teenage grandchildren. Generally, the hotel is conveniently located and within walking distance of many area attractions. Staff was very friendly, particularly Brian, the gentleman that checked us in. Room was spacious and clean but with a number of small annoyances that should be addressed. Parking was expensive ($30/day) but easily accessed and secure, however, not everyone was required to use it as all spaces by the front door were typically full, especially in the mornings. The variety of breakfast offerings was considerable but staff had difficulty keeping up, even with sufficient hot water. Two of the days we had to request towels as the room had not been cleaned. The tray in the microwave was not the original and when using it the tray wobbled and made quite a racket. The bathroom was good size and the shower was fine, the door seal kept the floor dry, but the handle was loose and spun around making it difficult to regulate the temperature. There was a broken/missing hook behind the bathroom door, which had chunk of veneer missing along the edge. The door would also rub on floor when opening. The toilet paper roll holder was very loose. Again, great location but the details being ignored will not garner a rating above 7 out of 10.
