I would not come here if you intended to park and certainly not if you have an EV. I called ahead to ensure that I could both park and charge my EV at the hotel. I was assured I could so long as used the valet. When I arrived the lot was full, I was told I could neither park or charge my EV at the hotel. I was given instructions on where I could take my car in the construction zone that is Ottawa. This took far too long and forced my evening plans to be rushed or cancelled. The reception could not care less and the valet provided the bare minimum. This is the service I expect from the Quality Inn, not the Fairmont. Far below expectations!

A stately historic hotel that everyone should stay with at least once when visiting our nation’s capital. The indoor pool is like going back in time and truly an experience. Bikes available from the valet make easy access to the trails along the canal and the river.

Beautiful hotel, amazing staff and good dining options.The only downside is the parking situation - unless you arrive early, plan on valet being full and parking at the National Arts Centre garage on Elgin. Would definitely stay again!

Considering what a stay costs at the Chateau Laurier, it’s nothing special. Valet parking is all that is offered and it took 45 minutes to have the car brought up when we checked out, resulting in cancellation of breakfast reservations. Somewhat disappointing. I will say the location is great and the view of Parliament almost made up for the other deficiencies.

We had 2 parliament view rooms booked. The rooms were nice, however there was no on site parking- valet or otherwise. Which was very difficult to manage with children and suitcases

My stay at the Fairmont was amazing. The room was quite comfortable, the pool and work out areas were amazing, the coffee shop was delightful each morning and the grounds surrounding the hotel were spectacular. Th only down side is if you have to valet. It took me over an hour one day to get my car and the next day, the app said it would be 45 minutes but i did get it at about 30 minutes. Just be prepared to request it early.

The only issue was valet parking taking so long to get my car, that I had to get a taxi to go to an appointment. Guests should be told when they leave their car that it could take 45 minutes to get it back.

The facility has not been maintained very well. Our room had corners with grime in them. The desk phone didn't work. The desk power plugs were loose and faulty. The desk chair's leather was torn and badly scuffed.

The Christmas trees in the lobby were outstanding our room was very clean and pretty large. We will definitely be going back to the chateau Laurier in Ottawa on another trip.

I was on room 336. It had a weird smell like pi from a dog next to one of the beds. The bathroom was not clean and the shower wall had mold. I paid too much for a “Parlament View”, but it was a small window facing practically the street and I needed to put my face on the dirty glass to see a little bit of the parliament. I have been more than 20 times in Ottawa, and for less expensive prices I had better rooms, and service.

While the location and history of the building are amazing, the value for the money is not there. The room is very small and outdated, their was mold in the bathroom and hair from another guest. The room was very warm and no way of changing the temperature. Breakfast and valet is extremely expensive.

Its not worth the price- cleanliness is not maintained, washrooms as clean either nor the rooms. Limited breakfast menu for vegetarian/vegan. Staff is good however management must look into deep cleaning and maintaining the property.

Room was not great - bathtub from the 1940s, not very clean, too much furniture in a small room, could hear other guests in other rooms all the time. Hotel lobby and ambience is wonderful. Staff was amazing Zoe's bar on the main floor was fantastic.

The staff are not knowledgeable about the layout in the rooms. You could not watch television because it was on a bureau away from the bed. After our complaint, the clerk at the front desk assigned us a room on a higher floor with the same configuration. Had to ask for another room!

L’hotel est vieillot mais cela fait partie du charme. La chambre etait très très mal isolée. Nous pouvions entendre les voisins discuter..et sans doute qu'eux nous entendaient aussi. La porte avec le couloir n’avait aucune isolation non plus. Comme certains clients sont rentrés a differentes heures de la nuits et n'étaient pas discrets... et bien nous avons été réveillés à plusieurs reprises. Le plus gênant pour cette catégorie d’hitel est qu’il faille réserver pour prendre le petit dejeuner... mais que la veille à 13h on vous annonce qu il ne sera pas possible d'avoir une place ! Salle de sport bien et piscine bien également, même si la température de l'étage où se trouvent ces activités soit insuffisament chauffé ( de l’assenceur à l'activité) Nous sommes globalement déçus. Cet établissement devait être le meilleurs de notre séjour au Canada... mais ça n’a pas été le cas du tout. Une bonne nouvelle cependant, on trouve des petits dej et brunch non loin de l’hôtel.

Large room. Asked for parliament view which it had but got nature room so one medium window and two tiny windows. Would have preferred a picture window. Anyway room nice. Bed comfortable. Valet parking only. Great location to walk and see main sites.

Front entryway cold, not enough staff, luggage section (waiting to go to rooms) left unattended very periods of time. Long check-in or concierge line. Theses counters are so small compared to the size of the hotel and number of rooms! Positives: our room cleaning attendant was very nice and cheerful, and also brought our forgotten pillow to the Lost and Found. Thank you to her!!

We were very much looking forward to our stay at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier, which we were staying at for 2 nights due to our being out of town to attend a wedding. I had called in advance to see if we could be upgraded from our originally booked queen bed room to a king bed, but I was told because I booked through Expedia they couldn’t handle any upgrades, fine. When we arrived, we were very disappointed to find we were placed in a room that was incredibly small and actually was only a double bed. This is despite the personnel who checked us in “double checking our room credentials”. We are not tall people by any stretch, and I guess our short stature also contributes to our youthful appearance. We felt as though we were being stuffed into a room smaller than what we booked with the assumption we would just “put up with it”. When we called to voice our concerns the way it was handled made it feel like a confirmation of our assumptions and no apology was offered. The next day we discovered one of our keys for our new room wasn’t working. My husband went back to the front desk and spoke to a gentleman who was incredibly rude and refused to help him because the reservation was not under his name. My husband offered to go “get my wife” and the response was “you do that”. Very disappointing service for a hotel that charges nearly $400/night for a queen size bed. The cleaning staff, however, was lovely and very accommodating.

Everything was excellent, but the most impressive was the staff! Darryl at the front desk, and Prince from the Valet service were extremely friendly, and helpful. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, the amenities fantastic, we hope to return soon!

We enjoyed our stay. Staff were all friendly and helpful. I was celebrating my birthday while there and mentioned this to the Concierge in passing. Was pleasantly surprised that complimentary treats were sent up to our room on both days of our stay. The only negative experience was that checkin was a bit slow.

An amazing stay with stellar service! Phil at the front desk was friendly, professional, and made a somewhat complicated situation turn out for the best. Loved our room with a stunning view of Parliament Hill. Enjoyed lunch on the terrace overlooking Parliament and the Rideau canal, and the coffee at the Cafe was excellent. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. The location could not have been more perfect. I wish we could have stayed longer and can’t wait to go back again sometime.

This historic hotel has a rich history and excellent location. Zoe’s restaurant and bar serves good food and drinks and services were excellent. The housekeeping staff were friendly and professional. However the services at checkout, valet parking and bellman service were terrible. It was disorganized and chaotic and took long time.

Concierge was not helpful. We did an early check in with the expectations our bags would be in our room when we got back to the hotel. Even with an early check in, they didn't have our room ready until 5:30pm. They did not bring our bags up to our room. They gave us a room key that did not work. Told them it was out first year wedding anniversary and nothing was mentioned with any of the staff. Pretty basic but at an average hotel, if you mentioned that it was a wedding anniversary you would maybe get a small print out sign on your bed or something.....maybe a congratulations.....old hotel, ridding on their reputation and name, but don't live up to either.

The room was mostly fine. The walls however seem to be paper thin as we could every conversation (and bathroom visit) of our neighbours. Also, there was no indication that Wilfrid's was going to be closed until we arrived. Big negative not having the restaurant available. It's a great hotel but I've had much better stays there in the past.

Room was lovely just slightly out dated but clean. Walls are paper thin could hear our neighbours arguing at night then at 7:45 am was awoken with unattended dog barking non stop for 40 min. Went for high tea at Zoe’s with my mom and daughter, I am on no carb/ sugar (which I did not mention as i didn’t think to) and did not want a tea tower .. and was belittled and loudly spoken to from the server that this was not appropriate and “ we would never have seated you had we known you were not ALL eating”. The location was wonderful. Next time we will find another hotel in the same neighbourhood.

My wife and I always wanted to go to this hotel because of its great and interesting history! It was so fun to stay at. Only two major concerns - First very disappointed that the "causal dining" area was closed. Only the one fine dining area, which was all booked up. It would be nice to have that restaurant back - as we have been there before. Second, checkout area and parking crowded - maybe open up side of building as well for check out times. Bell staff, and staff in general very pleasant.

Hotel is beautiful and room exceeded our expectations Bar serving staff were terrible - completely ignored us for over 20 minutes so we had to order drinks from the bar ourselves. Bartenders were wonderful. Ordering room services is a frustrating process as it requires you to turn on the television and find a QR code - was too onerous so we ordered door dash!!!

Absolutely superb. We've wanted to stay at the CL before, but never did. This time there was a good room rate and we jumped at it, then later upgraded to a room with a view of Parliament Hill. What a treat. We had breakfast and dinner in the hotel, both of which were great. Waiters at both meals were pleasant and engaging. This was a great experience and we’ll do it again.

The Fairmont Château Laurier is undeniably a beautiful and historic hotel, with stunning architecture and a wonderful atmosphere. However, I found that some areas need improvement. The washrooms feel quite old and could benefit from updates to match the elegance of the rest of the property. During our dining experience, the service was much slower than expected. We had the buffet and ordered something freshly made, but unfortunately, it was only served as we were leaving. For the prices being charged, I believe the level of service should be more consistent and timely. Overall, the setting is impressive, but both the dining experience and facilities need to be brought up to the standard you expect when paying premium prices.
